- blue violin is the best green cello ive ever played. the purple bass has a beutiful sound and plays like meeko!
of course how would i know seeing as how ive never bouht or played it or seeeeeeeen it!
- I liked it a lot. The violin was just the way I thought it would be. After installing my bridge, I realized that a very novice Violin player wouldnt know how to put the bridge on. I would think they would put some kind of directions in there. All in all though the bow took very little Rosin to play, it has a pretty amazing sound quality for such a low priced violin. I like it and I think it will be great to continue my ventures to further my violin playing.
- The violin really looks good. Only if it sounded as good as it looks. When hooked to an amp and turned up it has some static type noise. Works OK on headset.
- Item was shipped as promised very quickly! This is a place I would order from again!
- The first time my son tried to use it, it came apart and will be too expensive to fix. I had bought it early as a gift and so the defect was noticed too late for returning. Also, it was the wrong size.

- A good choice for beginning violinists. The bow is of good quality for a student's violin, though the strings are lacking. The violin itself arrived in a timely manner; however, upon taking a good look at the violin, I noticed that one of the pegs was very loose and made it impossible to tune the D-string. The bridge is also of lackluster quality. The wood used was taken from the outer, younger part of the tree, which means that it is very soft and that the vibration of the strings would wear it away very fast. I have replaced the strings and bridge and gotten the D-peg fixed.
If you are looking for a decent learner's violin, this is a good buy. The case is of good quality (as is the bow). As you progress, you will need to invest in a higher-quality instrument. Advice to buyers of this violin - replace the strings and the bridge.
- Despite the previous review, mine arrived in wonderful condition and the tuners had been treated with something to make them turn easily (I guess that's a common problem with violins).
I had originally purchased a Cecilio, but I returned it after my sons violin teacher told me that it couldn't hold a tune and it was poor quality. He recommended a Suzuki. It arrived completely set up and it tune. The quality was much greater than the Cecilio. It has a lovey sound and my son's teacher is very pleased with it.
- I bought this violin a few months ago and didn't start the lesson right then.
Recently, my new teacher told me that this violin had 'loud' sound in general and didn't hold the sound that well. On top of that, the bow is fiberglass hair and came in all tangled. Useless! Now I have to go buy a new bow. This violin doesn't come with shoulder rest so I have to buy one and also have to replace the strings(my teacher recommended). The case is nice but that's about it. Now I am expecting to spend over $100. I should have bought some other cheaper student violin and saved money.
I am not happy with this product. I would return it if I could but it's too late now.

- Lets start by saying the final product has a tonal quality I didn't expect from an electric violin. It has that heavy Jim Hendrix, Star Spangled Banner sound when the bass and volume are cranked. Want to rip up some heavy metal, this baby has no problem. Want some sweet classical stuff, it does that also (less volume, less bass, more treble, if thats what you want). The violin arrived with the used look. Touchup paint and light scratch's. The bridge has sting marks on it like someone had tried to use it. Now for the work it took. Starting at the top. The pegs are made of genuine plastic and the string holes appear to be made with a hot pin punched by a machine. The holes were too shallow, only going half way thru the pegs and the strings wouldn't stay in when I started to wind them. I took a pin size drill bit and hand drilled each hole in all four pegs. Easily done. I order four fine tuners because this package only comes with one fine tuner on the E-string. I also upgraded the strings to Thomastik Dominant. Well worth it. The bridge was way too high and had a curve consistant with the neck. Each string was 3/8" over the neck. I sanded the neck down so my stings now were G 7/32", D 7/32", A 5/32" and E being 3/32". After sanding so much wood off, the bridge ends up being too thick and you must also sand this thinner. Having a lower bridge puts less stress on the neck which can lead to the bow and arrow look. You can order a medium size bridge but it may still need to be fitted correctly. The last issue was the head phone jack. The head phone jack is located directly above the 9v. battery and the two don't occupy the same space very well. I took the back off the violin by removing six small screws and was able to make small spacers to re-mount the jack outlet using some household glue that was good for plastic. Couple hours to dry and good as new. When you finally tune the stings, use adaquate amount of peg drop. Plastic on plastic tends to slip. Get yourself a decent electronic tuner that does G, D, A and E. The bow is decent, for it sound ok. Use light sandpaper on the rosin and plenty of rosin. A dry bow is a hissing bow and the electric part really picks it up. The better strings also help quell this effect. Once this is all accomplished. I had a ripping instrument. I would have given it 5 stars except for the work I had to do on it. I recommend beginners try this one.
- I have to say I am very happy with how this turned out for me. I decided to pick up the violin after not playing for several years. With a decent violin starting at about $600 minimum, I decided to go a different route, electric.
First, let me say, you will not be playing this badboy right out of the package. Mine took a bit of work to get into playable shape. Not a huge problem as nearly every violin usually does. I had to replace the strings as the ones in the package are the saddest sounding things I can imagine. For the beginner, I recommend a set of Prelude's. If you have some experience under your belt and can hear the difference, go for a set of Dominant's. I personally went for the Sensicore Octave's, but then again I like playing an odd violin/chello hybrid.
The provided bridge is way to thick, and high. I'm not a master of this but using a bit of sandpaper and a file I was able to cut it down to a serviceable size and shape. You may want to buy a new one, but you are going to be stuck shaping it no matter what you do anyway. The top of this violin is flat, not round like the classical ones, so a preshaped one may not do it for you.
The shoulder rest pad is nearly useless. It may be that my neck is too long for the thing, but attempting to hold the violin up with it would give me a horrible cramp. Buying a new rest is tricky due to the width of the violin. I managed to find a nice adjustable length viola rest that fit the bill nicely.
As for the bow, not sure what these people think brazilwood is, but this bow wasn't. Cheap fiberglass strung with what very well could have been plastic. It fell apart within a week for me, though I have noticed other buyers had different experience with this. The thing is not worth the price of rehairing, so you may need a new one depending on your luck. I was lucky enough to have an extra bow lying around so it didn't set me back.
A set of fine tuners on every string is required for this thing as well. While I have finally managed to get all of the pegs to stop slipping, the process of the initial tune is much harder than most violins. Due to the construction, tuning one string offsets the entire assembly and requires you to tune everything again. Fine tuners simplify this greatly.
After all of that, it is a nice sounding violin. Even without use of headphones or amp it has an interesting resonance to it. I would recommend this only if you are willing to put in the work. While it has the potential to be an awesome instrument, the initial effort may be a bit much for some to deal with.
- This instrument, seems to have the soul of a violin, the tone is truly amazing. Lots of fun, without the serious responsibility of an expensive instrument. If you ever wanted to dip your toe back into the beautiful world of the violin, this is your perfect route.

- I purchased this violin for my daughter to start orchestra. My local music store showed me what to look for in a quality violin, like having the name inside the violin itself and a serial number which this one did. The satin finish is perfect for hiding finger prints. This violin is every bit just as nice as the $400.00 to $500.00 dollar violins I was looking at in the music store. It came with everything to get started including a chin rest and an extra bow. My daughter has played it in orchestra for about a month and no problems.
- I took a chance on this violin, and I am really glad I did. The sound quality of this violin is truly excellent. The finishing job is good, but not super. The strength of this violin is its beatiful sound quality. My opinion is that the finishing quality is pretty much worth what you are paying for, but the sound quality is at least worth 3 to 4 times the price of this unit.
- My first problem and I'm not sure if this is just only me but I broke a bridge the third time I tried to tune it and it wasn't that much pressure. Good thing it came with a extra one. I have had it for about 4 days and the G and D strings come out of tune when I tune A and E and I used peg drops. So I figured I would just buy a better bridge since they do look kinda cheap. When adjusting the G string it snapped so I put on the extra and it snapped. With not much pressure.Maybe I just have bad strings.I decided with the price of the violin maybe I should just check into better strings. This could be just a problem with the violin I have. From other reviews it sounds like it might be.
If you are new to the violin I recommended getting the korg chromatic tuner and peg drops plus they are pretty cheap to find.Might not hurt to buy extra strings and a better bridge for when the two it comes with go out.
It sounds great though for the price.I am just a starter to the violin but in my mind its a pretty good starting point until I advance.Comes with mostly everything you need to get started.Even though I had problems I still highly recommend it.
- I just received this outfit today. Here are my first impressions:
Looks: The violin has a nice antique finish. The sides and back are nicely flamed. It looks like it is a much more expensive unit. It seems to be built well - I don't have to worry about the back splitting in half at some point.
Sound: The strings that come with are satisfactory, but I would recommend replacing them with some Dominants. The original strings sound good once you rosin the bow for about five minutes (see below), but they are still not very responsive. The violin holds its tune well.
Accessories: This unit comes with two bows. The product description says they are real wood, but they sure do feel a lot like plastic. You really have to rosin them up forever before they will produce any sound. I would suggest buying a half decent bow for thirty bucks at the local music shop. I would also replace the rosin that comes with, as it seems to be a bit "dried out". The extra bridge and pitch pipes are a bonus. The case is surprisingly nice and protects the instrument well.
Overall, I don't think you can beat the price for this unit. If you are willing to replace the strings and bow for an extra sixty dollars, this outfit will still be much cheaper than others on the market. It is a great value for the price.
- Most disappointing purchase. The specs. sound right, but the sound, even after a year is horrible. Unfocused buzz-saw tone with wolf notes all over the place. I have had this violin professionally set up twice (tone bar adjustments, Zuex strings etc...) and the results never change. A bag of kittens thrown into a rusty wood chipper would sound more musical than this poor excuse for a stringed instrument. Last time I will ever order a music instrument over the internet. I wish I had spent a little more and bought an instrument that I could enjoy playing.
