  1. This is a very nice quality cable. The gold ends, and the flexibility of the cable is very good. I really like the indentations for my fingers.

While it might not be the cheapest cable out there; you get what you pay for. At under $4 I'll buy it from Amazon any day.

  2. The AmazonBasics USB 2.0 Extension Cable comes in real handy for extending a shorter USB cable. I have used it on my printer, scanner, and other peripherals and found no noticeable degradation of signals. I like the gold-plated ends since the gold-plating protects the contacts from corrosion and ensures that I'll always have a reliable connection.

Be aware that USB extension cables do not necessarily work with devices that don't have an external power source. It's a matter of trial-and-error.

For example, the USB extension failed to work with my RF wireless dongle. (I was trying to extend the roaming distance between my wireless keyboard and my desktop computer.) However, it works flawlessly with all of my devices that supply their own power (printer, scanner, etc.).

Amazon's frustration free packaging is wonderful; the package opens easily so you don't have to wrestle with difficult-to-open blister packages.

    ---
The AmazonBasics USB 2.0 Extension Cable is a quality cable at a very reasonable price. Recommended.

  3. I purchased this USB extension cable for my iPhone charger. The cable that comes with the iPhone is just 3' short and I needed something longer. A 10' cable @ Radio Shack is around $30 so this order was a no-brainer.

  4. These cables are as good as any cables that I have bought before. As usual, wonderful pricing and shipping by Amazon.

  5. This cable is exactly as described. It is beefy. I use it to extend my iphone charger.

  1. 3rd time ordering these disks, 1st time having a bad experience. Have 9 failed disks out of 20. Never had a problem with Verbatim before, not sure....Probably will be looking for smth else next time

  2. The verbatim dual layer DVD's came as promised. Verbatim is the best, and worked well. The item arrived on time.

  3. I bought a 20 pack a few months ago. I got one good burn out of 20. Not sure whats up. I use a new sony DVD writer and a 2.6GHz pc with 1.5GB ram. The singles work flawlessly but a DL disk just dont wanna work. I tried Nero, CloneDVD2 and XPcdburner. Tried 2.4x and 1x. No good burns.

  4. I dont know what other reviewers are saying but the dvd is top quality and I havent had any problem on my 10th purchase so far

  5. ImgBurn + these dual layers = WIN

Ive noticed the only problem is my DVD burner sometimes will error out in the first minute of burn.

Instead of tossing the disc away I try again and unplug my power adapter on my laptop. I wait until it gets 3% in and then plug my laptop back in. I have a 2005 sony vaio sz

Maybe if your burning on a laptop and it errors in the first minute try running off of battery power. You don't have to burn at 2.4X

Ive burned at 2.0X 1X and up to 6X and backup XBOX 360 games have all ran as smooth as my Original ;)

Ive gone through 3 of these packs so about 60 discs and only 2 have been bad. So not to bad

  1. great cable. you cant see in the picture but it has snagless ends which is great when your running cables through the basement. would definitely buy it again

  2. I needed a CAT5e cable that would be able to span 40 feet in untrafficed areas. It would not be walked on and furniture would not be placed on it. Shopping around I found cable for over twice the cost. I read reviews and "did my homework." Yes, there may be heftier cables out there, and if I needed cable that could withstand abuse they may have be the best choice. I do not think there is a benefit in over engineering for a job. Bottom line--this CAT5e cable was the right choice for the job. It was delivered quickly and I am a satisfied customer.

  3. Bought this for my son to use for X-Box live. He runs it from one room to another. So far it works just fine for him. No problems at all.

  4. I received it right away. Took me a few days to get someone to drill the holes in my floor so I could run the cable through the basement so I don't have to have the cable running along the floor. It has heavy duty ends and seems to be holding up well. Don't think I could be happier about this purchase.

  5. it works, but i don't like the that silly thing they put over the release lever on all these cables these days. it makes it way harder than it needs to be to disconnect.

  1. ...what more do you need to know? Mine came with one straight end and one 90 degree end which angled down on my horizontally-mounted hard drive (the most common configuration). Need a SATA cable? This works.

  2. Well constructed 90 degree cable (on one end) packaged in a small zip top bag.

The cable is just a basic cable. The thing I really appreciate about this is that the packing makes sense for the product. I bought a few extras on hand so the next time I needed one I did not have to get gouged at a brick and mortar store. This simple packing allows for easy storage without a lot of extra bulk.

  3. I bought two of these along with 2x Samsung Internal Half Height DVD-W Supermulti SATA 22X Lightscribe. They are perfect in size to reach from any drive to the motherboard. Everything works fine and fast. The way it should be. If you buy a burner you'll need these since very few come with any cables at all.

  4. Wanted a cable to fit a disk drive and did not need to spend the kind of money they wanted at Fry's...this fit.

  5. Required when you add a "bare bones" internal SATA disc drive. I believe most PCs lack a data plug for a second drive. My PC had an extra power plug so I didn't need a separate power cable. Worked with no problems.

  1. I have used Fuji, Memorex, Maxell and now Amazon. I average 200+ movies per year. The Amazon are as good as the Maxell and Fuji and better than Memorex. So far I've not had any platters, but then I always use +R's and burn at 4x speed for best video quality. There is plenty of room on the disc to write your label. The packaging is well done. As for shipping Amazon double boxed. Since I live in the boonies, anytime I can purchase a good product and have it delivered to my door cheaper than going to town, I'll buy it.

  2. Blank DVDs are all pretty much the same, so the price and fulfillment was key here. You can probably find a no-name place that's a little cheaper, but Amazon has the brand-name and trustworthy. Burned discs have not had any problems.

  3. Thought i was getting a great deal. Well think again worst quality disc's ever. Most drives won't recognize media.
Spend a few more bucks and get branded quality media.
    Not worth the hassle.

  4. I loved the great price deal for these, unfortunately they don't work on my drive. I don't know if it is the drive or the system or the discs so I will not give them a bad rating.

  5. I hear people complaining about the burn speeds. I burn at 16x every time. I have not came across one dud. I burn movies, games, data, you name it, I havn't had any problems. If you cannot burn at 16x then you need a new burner. If you cannot play a disc that was burnt at 16x then you need a new player. It's not the discs. If you have a older, lower end dvd player, then burn slower.

  1. I purchased these CD's for burning music and pod casts so I can listen in the car. They work as I had hoped. I have had no issues with these disks.......It was a great purchase.

  2. No issues at all with these discs, they do what they are supposed to do. I've rarely had issues with any brand disc, and if I did, it was most likely user error. I'd buy these again and again.

  3. Delivered perfectly. No damage. Great price for the quantity. Will definitely purchase again.

  4. Works in about anything I've tried it in. Verbatim is an excellent company with a good reputation.

  5. Verbatim CD-R and DVD-R Media are both high quality media that have played back fine in every device I have ever tried them in during the last 8 years. I have burned approx 400 music CD-Rs and 250 video DVD-Rs using Nero/four different DVD burners in three computers and have played back on many, many different devices with zero problems that I can attribute to the media. If you want reliable burning and then reliable playback in non-computer devices, Verbatim is a good way to go. I have also heard good things about Fugi media, but never tried them as Verbatim has always worked fine for me. I once was told the quality of dye in the Verbatim and Fugi is higher than in most, and burned media will also last longer. My Verbatim CDs from 2002 still play fine, as do all my DVDs (just can't remember exacty how old they are). Of course I don't expose them to the elements in a car (sun and temp extremes) and I try to take good care of them. Amazon with Free Super Saver Shipping is the best place I have found to buy Verbatim Media.

  1. purchased this to transfer sound from my HDTV to Bose system, simple to use....just plugged in thats it.
    excellent performance.
I've seen many sites selling this cable with "metal braiding" claiming superior performance....and dont think that it is a good idea because "optical cable" transfer sound as light pulses hence you dont need a metal casing to protect "light" from electrical interference.

There is a protective soft rubber casing at both cable ends ...remember to pluck it out before plugging in.

  2. My goal in life is to never buy overpriced cables. I figure that it is a cable and how could it break. After all it just sits there collecting dust. It's a digital signal going through glass/plastic fiber, there will be no difference compared to the $450 dollar AudioQuest class 5 optical cable - TosLink plugs 1m (3.28'). If you bought this $450 cable, I cry for you.

The cable is your basic black color and it looks as nice as a cable can look. The cable is flexible and bendy just like a cable should be. It is long. The connection fits snugly from my Pioneer VSX-1019AH-K 7-Channel A/V Receiver (Black) to my ancient Philips DirecTV DVR With 40GB TIVO.

It comes in a nice cardboard box that is so simple to open. You can then toss the packaging into your recycle bin for recycling.

  3. I looked at digital audio cables at numerous stores. The cheapest I found was $15.00. I thought to myself that there had to be a cheaper way, I then found this product. What a breath of fresh air. Perfect price, perfect product, perfect packaging. I will never buy another cable of any kind from anywhere other than Amazon.

  4. Cable worked great connecting receiver and dvd player together. These cables are expensive elsewhere. I don't notice any difference between this one and Monster cables.

  5. I have used several different types of Amazonbasics cables and they are all of very high quality. All of them come with gold plated connections and sturdy construction. They come with a warranty as well which is rare for any cable manufacturer to provide. You cant go wrong with Amazonbasics cables, if purchased in a local brick and mortar store the same cable will easily cost you anywhere from $23-$50, why spend so much when you can have the same cable for less then $10? in some cases the Amazonbasics cable might even be of higher quality then the one your overpaying for in a brick and mortar store.

  1. Not much to say, except that it works as expected. It was pretty cheap, so not much expectation. Good deal.

  2. This is a good looking quality cable that works perfectly. The price is very good. Excellent value.

  3. More and more today you see people saying that overpriced cables are overrated. These people would in fact be telling noting but the truth. While many of us know that a higher price point does not necessarily equal higher quality, there are still those out there who may believe just that. When you buy a cable from a company such as Monster, you pay a premium for their name, nothing more. Spread the word my friends, this cable (as well as others) are just as good, if not better, than any overpriced item found in stores.

  4. This cable works tremendously for the price you pay for it. I haven't had a single problem with this cable and it is a great buy! This product beats the $20 cable (for the same purpose) that WalMart is selling.

  5. I purchased 6 of these optical cables and they work just fine, no excellent. I use it on my PS3 for music and DVDs. I recommend these to any looking for an inexpensive optical cable that works excellent for the PS3 and my Denon receiver, Klipsch Quintet speakers (2)Klipsch SW10 powered Subwoofer 300-500watts, (2)Baby Advent, Samsung 40" LCD, Nintendo Wii, Sony DVD/CD/MP3 player all have been made better with the optical hookup, sound quality clear, clean, crushing, cool the 4 c's of my standard of sound. AMAZON.COM has done it again with the best price around.

  1. The cable was exactly as advertised and meets my needs at a much lower price than similar products found on line or in local stores. Vendor was very quick to respond and ship, so I was up and printing very fast. I would definitely recommend both the product and the vendor. Thanks, Amazon for the connection!

  2. With world class speed and ripping awesomeness, this USB 2.0 cable rocks my world. I connected it to my new Brother printer and found that I was immediately able to print. No special set-up required: I just plugged one end into my printer and the other into my computer and the deed was done. The color of this cable is very pleasing and has a sexy matte finish that all my friends are raving about. Overall this might be the best purchase of my lifetime and I look forward to years and years of joy using this outstanding USB 2.0 cable.

  3. Retail for this item isn't $34.99. New Egg sells it for $7.00. As for its performance ... who knows? I ordered it when I purchased a new HP all-in-one from Amazon. The printer's here, but the cable "is being prepared for shipment" (no word on when or if will ever ship) and Amazon advises that I can't cancel the shipment. Wanna bet?

  4. Was gald to receive this product. Was heard to tell online whether it was compatible with my printer. Easy to use, and the length of the cord was perfect.

  5. I bought a 6' Belkin USB cord from a Big Box store to hook up my Akai MPK49 MIDI keyboard (piano). The cord allows two-way communication with a DAW program and powers the keyboard (no transformer needed). The Big Box cord did not sufficiently allow powering and the keyboard was quirky and then quit. The present Belkin cord bought from Amazon has worked fine however. So, yes, there is a difference between USB cords for some applications.

  1. *** This review contains spoilers ***

Before seeing 'The Hangover', I heard that it was about some guys who hold a bachelor party in Las Vegas. I was expecting a night of ribaldry, chronicling the bachelor party (along the lines of 'Superbad'--except with the characters being a bit older). But the great thing about 'The Hangover' is that all the action happens AFTER the bachelor party occurs, the next day. It's a tremendously clever idea where the comedy is in the unraveling of the mystery as to what happened to the protagonists during a bachelor party which they cannot recall.

In the Act One setup, we're first introduced to the principals: Doug is about to be married and along with his brother-in-law, the off-the-wall Alan, joined by Doug's buddies, Stu, a dentist, and Phil, an elementary school teacher, decide to go to Las Vegas two days before the wedding for a surreptitious bachelor party. We then cut to five hours before the wedding, with Phil making a desperate call to Doug's fiancé informing her that they've lost Doug and it looks like the wedding is off. Then we flashback to the revelers' arrival at Caesar's Palace in Vegas, where they go up to the hotel roof where loose cannon Alan toasts Doug by cutting himself with a knife--he invites everyone to join in a little blood letting as a sort of initiation rite but the others turn him down as they all think Alan is a little bit off the wall.

The break into Act Two occurs with Alan, Stu and Phil waking up in a trashed hotel room sans Doug. To make matters worse, there's a live tiger in the bathroom, a crying baby in the kitchen and Stu the Dentist is missing a tooth. They go downstairs and give the parking valet a stub, only to have him drive up with a police car, with the valet addressing the bumbling threesome as 'officers' and 'wishing them a good day'.

Soon it becomes clear why Alan, Stu and Phil can't remember anything that happened the night before. Alan thought he was slipping a tab of ecstasy into their drinks but it turns out that it was Rohypnol (aka "Roofies"), a date rape drug, which he bought from a confused drug dealer (also named Doug who later figures in the plot). I'm not sure if I recall the exact sequence of what happens next but basically the three end up at a wedding chapel where they discover that the night before Stu got hitched to a Vegas stripper. They locate her and fortunately she's the baby's mother. When the bumbling buddies return to their hotel room, waiting for them there is Mike Tyson himself along with one of his handler's. It seems that the boys stole Tyson's pet tiger and in a rather amusing scene, drug the tiger and drive it back to Big Mike's mansion. More outrageous obstacles soon are placed in the protagonists' way.

It seems that the night before, Alan was playing craps with a Chinese gangster, Mr. Chow. He ends up taking off with Chow's gambling winnings amounting to $80,000. Chow and his thugs confront Alan, Stu and Phil and reveal that they are holding Doug and demand that they come up with his money or else they'll never see their buddy gain. In one of the few long-winded scenes in the film, Alan wins $80,000 by employing card counting techniques while playing blackjack back at the casino. They all drive out to the desert where they give Chow the money but he hands over a black guy named Doug who happens to be the drug dealer who sold Alan the 'roofies'.

We're back at the point where the flashback began toward the beginning of the film. Phil is calling Doug's fiancé informing her that Doug cannot be located and the wedding is off. But suddenly Stu figures it all out. Earlier, the guys had noticed that Doug's mattress was impaled on the obelisk in front of the hotel. He realizes that Doug could not have thrown the mattress from the hotel windows since they don't open--the only conclusion is that they had brought Doug up to the roof the night before and he's been stuck up there since nightfall. All's well that ends well when the prospective groom and his three buddies drive back to Los Angeles just in time for the wedding (in a hilarious scene while they're driving on the highway, they have their tuxedos thrown to them from a tuxedo company van--obviously having ordered the tuxes beforehand from the car, using a cell phone and credit card).

The final scene is one of the best--they discover a digital camera with all the pictures of the groups' hi-jinx the night before. They all agree to look at the pictures once and then erase all of them. As the credits roll, the pictures reveal the machinations of the bumbling threesome during their crazed night out on the town.

Of all the characters, I thought Stu the dentist was the funniest. We finally do find out how he lost that tooth--and the scene where he stands up to his overbearing girlfriend at the film's climax was hilarious. I expected a little more with Alan's character as he was introduced as to be the really crazy one at the beginning--but somehow I wanted him to do even more crazy things at the end. Kudos especially to Ken Jeong as Mr. Chow, the foul-mouthed Chinese gangster, who was truly a hoot!

Some of the jokes in "The Hangover" don't always hit the mark--the bit about the police tasering the hapless trio in front of a bunch of schoolchildren just seemed a little too much. Nonetheless, 'The Hangover' has proved to be the sleeper hit comedy of 2009 with its one welcome bizarre situation after another.

  2. Watching this movie I was trying to compare it to other comedies I have seen. I guess it similar in humor type to the first National Lampoon Vacation film with both serious and silly mixed in.

The movie is one of those that begins showing you the near ending of the movie where a guy is calling the fiancee of his friend to tell her that her husband to be will not be showing up to their wedding which is due to start in five hours. Most of the rest of the movie attempts to tell how this happened.

A guy about to be married goes to Vegas with three friends. One is a total "John Belushi type" and the other two are his friends. One friend is in a relationship with an overly controlling woman and he lies to her telling he is going on a wine tasting business trip to Napa Valley.

The four take a very expensive suite in Vegas and go up to the roof to drink a toast to their friendship and the upcoming wedding of their friend. The next thing they know they are waking up in their suite the next day which has been trashed and has both a live tiger in the bathroom and a baby (see the poster) in it and their friend to be married has disappeared.

The rest of the movie has them trying to piece together what happened the previous night and to locate their missing friend. They learn they had done unbelievable things and have both a crimelord and Mike Tyson after them. The movie is very different from most of the comedies that have come out in the last year or so and a lot more fun than most especially the prolifieration of the Jude Apatow movies that seem to constantly come out.

  3. i heard so much about The Hangover being a real funny movie, but i've got to say, The Hangover sucked.

i think House Bunny was funnier than The Hangover.

Bradley Cooper, who came out in movies like The Rocker and Yes Man, is terrible as a leading man. His acting was too cheesy and even when he dropped F-bombs, they felt forced out of his mouth.

Hangover was way too corny and honestly not funny.

Todd Philips usually makes good movies, (Road Trip, Old School, Starsky and Hutch) but The Hangover is terrible.

  4. OK this wasn't the worst thing I've ever seen but as I was sitting there watching I kept turning to my friends and asking, 'when does something funny happen'? This movie is completely overrated, I'm baffled by the reviews that proclaim this movie to be 'the funniest thing I have ever seen'. I guess I attribute this to the fact that Hollywood turns out 85% crap every year and people are so desperate to like something they just latch on to the first thing that's a bit less crappy than everything else floating around out there. You want funny watch 40 year old virgin, forgetting Sara Marshall, what happens in Vegas or step brothers, these movies are very funny for real! Sadly watching this movie accounts for just under 2 hours of my life I will never get back, don't make the same mistake I made, pass on this overrated and painfully average attempt at comedy until it hits HBO. I gave my disk to a homeless guy because I needed it out of my house. It's a very reflective disk, I think he squats over it to check his sack for crabs.

  5. This is not the greatest comedy ever made. It's probably one of the most overhyped comedies in recent memory. But it isn't terrible, and it's not the gross out comedy that many have said it is. It's a mediocre film at best that has some funny moments, and has some moments that make you wonder who could write such a bad script.

Many times in the film you see a situation (like when the boys wake up and find a tiger in the bathroom), and the characters in the film constantly say "oh my god, there's a tiger in the bathroom. How the f*** did that tiger get in the bathroom? Man, I can't remember how that tiger got in the bathroom" and so on and so on. This type of situation happens a lot during the film (especially the first half), and it's really poor scripting. The first half drags because of this poor scripting. I almost shut the DVD off, but luckily, the film picks up in the 2nd half. It's almost like the filmmakers realised that they had to finish the film, and decided to wrap things up very, very quickly.

Bradley Cooper's character is a very smarmy guy and not very sympathetic. The dentist is actually a decent sort saddled with a ferociously bitchy girlfriend (played by Rachel Harris), and Zach G plays a guy who is supposed to be nerdy and funny, but quite often he comes across as weird and creepy, not funny. But there are some good moments in the film, especially the scene where the 3 guys are in the police station, and one of the officers (played by Rob Riggle) calls Zach G "fat Jesus". Then the 3 guys get tazed by the cops and an audience of kids touring the police station. It's the funniest scene in the film. The black drug dealer (called Black Doug in the film) is also a good character and the performance is very funny.

While this film is overhyped, it is not the most overrated comedy I've ever seen (that honor still belongs to Knocked Up), and I didn't feel like I was cheated after watching the movie. Aside from Bradley Cooper's character, the overall tone of the film isn't smug. It's just light. So, watch the movie if you like this type of humour. It's a decent rent.
