5 comments about Verbatim DVD+R DL 8.5GB 2.4X 20pk Spindle.
  1. Been using these DL DVD's for over a year now. Amazon had the recent best price when shopping for these. Burn very little coasters with these.
And the pack I got was manuf. in Singapore. Very important as the discs from India are not as good a quality.

  2. I've used nothing but Verbatim for years. I got a series of coasters in a 20 pack of Dual layers about 3 months ago (Feb-Mar 08) so ordered another set of 20 DLs. Got about 50% coasters in that one too. I was quite frustrated. I found a post that indicated the problems are with the 20pack boxes that are outsourced or something (possibly India?)...Sure enough I ordered a 15pack and they were fine, 100%. I've gone thru 2 other 15 packs in that time with no problems.

I'm done forever with the 20packs, it's just too expensive to go trial and error until they get thier quality control issues figured out. I will continue on the 15 packs until I get coasters there and once that happens will leave Verbatim forever.

I've had no problem with the Verbatim 4.7gig DVDs, just the Dual Layer DVDs.

It's too bad, used to quality you could bank on.

  3. I have heard all the good things about Verbatim DL DVDs so I bought a 50 Pack to use for my recordings. When I try to use them in my brand new LG GSA-E60L DVD Burner (that supports virtually every format including DVD+R DL), it does not recognize them as valid media. If I could give them zero stars, I would

  4. Great dual layer media that is extremely reliable even when slightly scratched. DVD+R DL is a better media choice than DVD-R DL because of the ability to set booktype with appropriate burner.

  5. The discs have worked just fine (using a LG burner)no problems incurred thus far, would recomend to anyone.

  1. I bought this TDK 100-pack spindle here two weeks ago and I am pretty satisfied with the quality. There is no coaster so far. Love the clean disc surface, too. That makes you easier to write the notes or something no top of it. I think I will have another one when I need it next time.

  2. The product is very nice.Shippers should be careful with the packaging and shipping. It is heavy and should have bubble wrap. Both of my containers were broken. The discs never give me a problem. Excellent for the price.

  3. This product is top of the line and I will buy it as many times as it is available for a decent price. Getting free super shipping is really a huge bonus and makes this product a Must Have.

  4. I am 110% agreeing with Tom S. about this product. It is of very, very, very poor quality. I bought this exact same product in store not too long ago, burned 4 discs and only 1 (yes 1!) out of the 4 played on my DVD player. I have 4 different brand DVD players at home and the 3 defective discs didn't work on any of them! With those odds, I am sure that a majority of the discs in the pack are defective. So buyers, buy at your own risk!

I do recommend the Memorex brand DVD+Rs. I've used those in the past and every single disc in the pack worked with no problems.Memorex DVD+R 16x 4.7GB 100 Pack Spindle

  5. Great price! Wish I'd found you earlier! I don't use many DVD+R's but have never had a problem with these.

  1. Hey they are tapes, what can be so complicated. But pretty decent quality and value, amazon has decent deals on this one

  2. these tapes last just as much run time as others but i have to say i like the quality of the video. i recommend.

  3. This was a gift for my daughter and her husband to go with the camcorder we bought them. They said they were happy with it.

  4. I got the tapes in good condition and on time but I have not used any of them yet and I cannot rest in peace since I find the 'write your review' email in my inbox every alternate day !

  5. Have bought this product some time back. Not sure if its the camcorder(panasonic PV-GS320 MiniDV ) that records well or the tape it stores and retrieves well.

But am happy with this product.

5 comments about Memorex 32025732 DVD+R 8x Double Layer 50 Pack Spindle.
  1. I've tried dozens of these to record video on both the Mac and PC platform, and with an external firewire Samsung drive (with latest firmware). During playback on a DVD player, tested on several different ones, the video skips, stops, or is unreadable, usually about halfway through. There is no difference what OS, writer drive, burning software, or speed at recording. It seems that with any system the second layer is unreliable and not playable in a DVD player. I still have about half of these disks left and I haven't found a use for them, since they seem to be rather useless for 8GB video projects.

  2. I have been using the Memorex DL for over a year now. I usually burn them on an external Sony 6X burner and I rarely have problems. In fact, I have not had a failure since I moved up to the newer 8X discs. I would guess I have burned 100-125 of these newer versions and they have all come out perfectly. I use Nero 7 as my burning program and it works perfectly. I just purchased another pack of 50 from Amazon because these work so well. I would recommend purchasing from Amazon as they cost $93 at Best Buy compared to $48 on Amazon.

  3. I seldom write reviews, but I have make this time an exception. These DL's are very good. I think the reason why some of you have coasters is you burn it at the maximum speed. If you lower the burn speed you will get good results. I am on my second 50-pack. I haven't had a coaster so far. The price is so much better than the Verbatim brand at approx 99 cents each.

  4. have gotten other brands of DL DVD's.....this one not only burns smoothly and without errors, but the quality of the resulting recording is outstanding! Highly recommend Memorex for burning dvd's and DL dvd's.

  5. These disks work great if burned at 4x. I tried 8x and 6x and have about 8 new coasters! Burning at 4x and have not had any problems with 20 plus burns. Using a Pioneer 20X DVD±R DVD Burner IDE Model DVR-115DBK.

  1. I priced this cable at $27 at a local office supply store. I got it here for less than $9. Works well and was just what I needed.

  2. Go to Staples and pay $40 for this, or order it online for $10 shipped.

  3. Does the job well but you must account for the cord being tightly wound in the package. I suppose this curl will work itself out over time but if you antcipate using the full length of the cord for your application, be advised that you will need to work out the curl.

  4. Belkin F3U133-16 USB 2.0 A/B Cable (16 Feet) I did buy this USB por my second printer, and it's working very well, the shipping was so fast and I highly recommend this product, actually I am in one month trial with amazon prime, but definately I am very happy with the service and I recommend to everyone who buys a lot from this site. I'm gonna keep it for 1 year.

    Thank you so much AMAZON!!!

  5. When I shop, I always look for the Belkin name first.
    They make good, strong products.

5 comments about TDK 4.7GB 16x DVD-R (100-Pack Spindle).
  1. THis product was received on time and in excellent condition. We have had no complaints regarding the function of this product.

  2. TDK makes a very reliable blank DVD-R that can handle up to 4.7 GB of data. Moreover, these blank DVD-Rs are capable of recording data at speeds up to "16x." The video I record onto these lasts forever. I have used these as discs to record video both with and without audio.

The DVD-R discs are compact and easy to store. While the discs are still blank, store them in the circular case on the spindle that they came in. After your record video onto them, I would recommend storing them in slim jewel cases instead of paper sleeves. It's just better protection for your DVD-Rs that have information stored on them. Don't store these discs, used or blank, in rooms that become very hot; this causes damage to any brand of this type of disc and you could lose your recorded video over time.

There are three caveats that many other people note about any brand of this product: before you buy these make sure that your DVD burner drive can burn the TDK brand of DVD-R without any problems; otherwise you run the risk of getting way too many coasters at best in exchange for your money. Second, there's the "recording speed" issue. When you are burning the video onto the blank disc using computer software, don't be surprised if you see that the data is burning at a rate slower than "16x." This can happen if your burner doesn't have the capacity to burn faster, or it may be a quirk. I am not a professional so I cannot be certain of precisely what causes this phenomenon; but I assure you that the extra minute or two (tops) that you wait to get your DVD-R completed is worth the wait.

In addition, DON'T write on these using Sharpie ink pens. The ink can seep through the top coating of the DVD-R disc and slowly but surely compromise your data--ouch! If you need to label the discs, label its jewel case using a post-it note.

Overall, TDK blank DVD-R discs store video reliably over the years and I believe that if you make sure your burner can handle these they will be very useful to you. An extra minute to burn the data onto the blank disc is well worth it in the event that it doesn't actually burn at "16x" speed.

  3. My first try with these TDK blanks. I have used nearly 100 and not a single dud in the stack. Finally a blank that works everytime on my recorder!

  4. These are not the quality I was expecting. I've had several "coasters" and have had to slow my burning down to 8x. Even at 8x I've had a few coasters in my two Sony DVD burners. I've used over a thousand TY brand and had maybe 10 coaster in that many discs. I'll stick with T Y brand.

  5. I have used a whole range of DVD -R blanks, from brandless ones to the very high end. One of the worst is TDK. The failure rate is almost 50% and this is for my computer dvd burner and my DVD recorder. I use Nero Burning suite as well as Roxio and the results for TDK blanks are consistently bad. I have had very little failure with Maxell and Fuji. I am truely amazed that this product is being given 5 star ratings by some reviewers.

5 comments about Zoom H2 Handy 2 Track Recorder.
  1. The device is great. I operate a small record-label recording studio and the Handy Recorder H2 is really an asset. The line in is great for all types of studio recording. TIP: I found if a level is slightly to high such as a guitar effect overdrive/gain that splittin the input signal into a pair of headphones reduces the Decibles enough to get a clean -6 recording. The H2 has a great "normalizer" except 0DB is the only setting I could find. Feild recording is great, the three microphone-gain setting work perfectly. The H2 organizes files really well, and also the SD gigabyte card tranfers to the laptop successfully every time. A great recording device all-the-way-around.

  2. I use the H2 to record band practices and to do field recordings of live performances. This gadget has lots of useful features, but is very easy to use in its primary role as a portable recorder. The sound quality is very good and the selectable microphone patterns provide a lot of flexibility.

Most of the time, I just have to turn it on (select an optional mic pattern, if desired) and hit the Record button twice (once to arm - once to start) and it does the rest!

Although it is specified as handling up to 2GB SD memory cards, it seems to be working well with a 4GB Sandisk card which provides over 5 hours recording time at 44.1kHz/16 bit (CD quality).

Good gadget - good price - good results!

  3. This is a great recording device. I'm the drummer for Alloy, a rock band in Miami, and we use it to record our rehearsals. The sound quality is very good, we can record more than 17 hours on a 2 GB SD card at 256 kbps (MP3 file).

  4. I bought this at a music store and everything I record has a super loud "pop" every 5-10 seconds. I've tried every gain level, various recording levels, and even took the batteries out and tried using AC power. This isn't a case of there being clipping, the level meter doesn't show any spike while recording. There is a huge spike on the meter during playback when the "pop" happens. Does the same thing on PC playback.

It doesn't seem to do it on the 4ch and 120 degree settings, but I didn't try too much since it's useless with this defect. There aren't a lot of settings on this thing, so there isn't anything left to try. Went to Zoom's web site and it's all broken Japanese and no useful information at all.

  5. The little recorder is very well designed and has a lot to offer for the money. I've been using mini-disc units for the last 6 years and the Zoom is larger and bulkier but has 4 wonderful built in mics. My only frustration is the voice activation feature only works once (then you have to reset it). There are many options for recording quality depending on whether you're recording voice or music. Aside from uncompressed WAV files, it also records MP3 for podcasts. Transfer to computer is easy (unlike mini-disc).

5 comments about Fiber Optical Toslink Digital Audio Optic Interface 6 Foot Cable.
  1. IF YOU HAVE A NEWER HDTV AND HOME THEATER AMPLIFIER, YOU HOPEFULLY HAVE DIGITAL AUDIO OUT ON THE TV AND TWO INPUTS ON THE AMP. THIS CABLE PRODUCES THE FINEST AUDIO AVAILABLE. THE SECOND INPUT AT THE AMP WOULD PROVIDE THE ULTIMATE AUDIO FROM THE DVD PLAYER. HAVE FUN ENJOY LIFE!

  2. I never understood the issue with $30-100 cables, such as these optical ones or HDMI and such.

This cable does its job, I hooked up my Playstation 3 to my 5.1 sound system and it sounds incredible with Dolby Digital. For a cable that cost me $4.00 total, it's absolutely worth it. There is nothing wrong with the sound quality at all and there is no need to buy a more expensive cable.

However, the cable is very thin. But for the price, its practically disposable anyway so it doesnt matter. And despite its thinness, I've travelled with it many times, hooking it up, and it hasn't torn or anything.

  3. I picked this up so I could move my Xbox 360 further from my TV. My previous Optical Audio cable was too short to use in the move. The sound with this cable is fine and not noticeably different than my previous THX certified cable. The only knock against it is that it wouldn't snap into the Xbox 360 output. I had to doctor it with a piece of tape to hold it in place. It should be noted that the other end snapped into my receiver just fine. Sounds great, just be aware of the small added hassle if you are hooking up an Xbox 360.

  4. This cable does what it's supposed to do. It just works. It might not be as flashy as some of the others around but who cares what it looks like as long as it gets the job done! Naturally if you unplug it and replug it in constantly it will eventually wear down the grooves that hold it in place....but why would you be switching it constantly in the first place? Heck buy two if you need to. It's still less than what you'd pay for a blu ray rental these days. Enough said.

  5. Works exactly like the high priced cables. Save some money and buy this. Fast delivery.

  1. This is just what I needed to hook up new printers bought on sale but
without cables for hooking up included. much cheaper than other places
    but same item

  2. Ordered the 10 foot USB cable instead of the standard 6 foot and am glad I did. My printer instructions call for a cable no longer than 9.5 foot but it works just fine.

Yes the quality is great but the Amazon price makes this a great deal. Shop the big box stores as I did and you will have a difficult time finding the same brand with the same features to match Amazon's price!

If you need another USB device cable or are buying a device from Amazon-buy the USB cable from Amazon. You won't be sorry, believe me!

  3. Never had a problem with Belkin...good quality name brand that works as advertised. Plus beats the crap outta paying 2-3X the price for "premium/gold tipped" cables that it seem are the only kind a lotta BIG BOX retailers carry today. SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!. These work fine.

  4. Belkin Pro Series USB 2.0 Device Cable (USB A/USB B, 10 Feet)

My printer manufacturer wanted 3 times as much as this for only a 6' cable, and the big box chain store didn't have it. This is an outstanding product and excellent buy. Shipping was 2 days.

  5. A perfectly-fine 10-foot USB cable for connecting devices to your 'pooter (in this case a Samsung laser printer).

The cable seems sturdy to the touch and obviously delivers data as promised. Performance is fine, even with Windows Vista (always a surprise).

    Bottom line: Recommended without reservation.

  1. These are your standard miniDV tapes made by sony. By ordering them online and getting enough to get the super saver shipping, I saved a ton of money as opposed to buying them in the store. A great buy!!!

  2. I use the Sony tape because of the quality and price in my JVC DV camcorder. I've played back the tape several times and the quality is still good. Overall, you can't go wrong with Sony or JVC!

  3. Great quality tapes. Better price than Wal-mart. Don't use anything else in your Sony. Very satisfied with the product!

  4. This is the best deal I have found for mini-DV tapes. I get five tapes from Amazon for the same price as one in the local Radio Shack or Best Buy.

  5. It was given as a gift to my boy friend he needed it and wanted it. It arrived promply.
