- It's a good set for beginners, the book and the CDs are great and easy to follow. The harm set are light and nice. The only problem I had was with the zipper of the bag which was damaged when I received the package.
In general this is a fine set to start learning how to play the harmonica

- This is a nice sounding instrument, that is fingered like a keyboard. It comes with two different styles of mouthpieces. The melodica comes in a nice sturdy case, is lightweight and is quite portable for traveling. The melodica is enjoyable to play and is pleasant to have with you, when playing a regular keyboard is not possible. The melodica is also a fun way to learn music and keyboard basics and does not sound tinny or unpleasant, if one is just getting started learning music.
- This melodica is nice because it's cheaper than Hohner's fancy professional models. And you don't lose much, it seems: it sounds like a melodica should sound, and it can be played with a reasonable degree of musicality, even by a novice like myself. The instrument comes with a little gig bag and two mouthpieces (a short one and a flexi-tube one). The construction and materials are of acceptable quality, I have no complaints.
Those of us with finicky ears are going to want to have this thing tuned, though. Music stores dealing in folk instruments ought to be able to do this, for a fee, or one can find DIY tuning instructions on the internet. Although the instrument is *mostly* in tune with itself, it will almost certainly need to be adjusted in order to play along with other chromatic instruments, or your Gang of Four records, or whatever. All that said, this would be a good instrument for the amateur musician or student to learn on. I keep it around for doodling and songwriting, and I use it on a home recording every now and then (whenever I feel like spending my time doing post-production pitch correction).
One final (miscellaneous) note: the sonic frequencies produced by this melodica are apparently unpleasant for cats to hear: mine get agitated and start to complain when I play it for them. I don't know if it's melodicas in general or just this one, but they don't like it. Anyone have any insight into this?

- I am a beginner harp player, so I tried several brands to find my favorite version of this popular pocket instrument. I tried the venerable Hohner Special--not bad. I tried a Marine Band version and then tried a Lee Oskar. The light plastic frame, the ease of "bending" a note and the fluid transition from note to note make this my choice of harp. The Lee Oskars are not commonly found in local music stores, so it's wonderful to have a place to order them. You need several harps--because diatonic harmonicas are tuned to a key and then, if played "cross harp" are really in the key up a fifth from the listed key. Anyway, you need a C, a D, an F and a G usually and an A is not bad to have, either. These are nice little harps. A repair kit is available, but frankly, unless you are devoted to a particular harp, just replace it when it goes bad.
- This is an easy to bend and blow harp but be warned if you have mustache and beard it will pull your hair out in a very painful way. It may help you play the blues.
- Nothing compares hands down to the quality and versatility of this harp.
Every part can be replaced, not that you'd need to unless you ran it over with a truck or something.
These harps are the loudest I've played and the tone and ease I have playing them is unmatched by Hohners which I've also tried.
The beard bite thing I ran into as well on occasion... but only when I was badly in need of a trim, in any case, covering the bolts with a piece of tape or a trim can easily fix this.
I own several of these harps and will forever be a fan.

- This is a good case, well made, holds 7 diatonic harmonicas very nicely. It does what it says.
- This is a high quality, rugged case: heavy duty zipper, canvas-like outer, soft liner, inside pocket for set lists or notes, and wide elastic straps to hold your harps. Room for seven harmonicas which means you can carry the keys most serious players use--G,A,Bb,C,D,E&F. Too bad they don't make a larger case for all diatonic keys. This baby will last forever and looks professional--a definite yes.
- I'm very happy with this harp case. It's thicker than you might imagine, judging from the picture. Each harmonica is held by its own strap, which fit perfectly. The zipper feels like a very good quality. I expect to be using this for years.
- I really couldn't have asked for anything better. A solid, well made case that protected my set of harps through quite a few mishaps. It is much less expensive than a hardshell, and though it will not fit a microphone or anything else other than the harmonicas and a few pieces of paper, it was well worth it. A strap would have been nice, and the large "LEE OSKAR HARMONICAS" on the front could have been smaller.

- My dad played the harmonica very well and I purchased a couple of these little ones in his memory to give to his great granddaughter. What a unique idea. At his funeral service, I had some of his "recorded music" playing in the background and right before the final words, I asked my little granddaughter to play the little Hohner Mini - which she did -- and what a memory.
- Love this little thing. While you wont be composing Bach on this, the harmonica is fun and works. Also very attractively made and sturdy, well worth the price.

- If you want a nice mini harmonica, I'd highly recommend paying a few dollars more and buying a german made, hohner "little lady". They are much easier to play and sound a whole lot better. I bought a batch of some of those "mini harmonicas" but these ones are made in china and are a very inferior product, for a cute little gag gift, this kind is ok, but if anyone wants a mini harmonica they plan to play, rather than have for looks, I reccomend getting a REAL "little lady".
- Yes, it's a tiny harmonica and yes, it's somewhat "cute." However, to be quite honest, this thing is utterly unplayable. I don't mean to sound angry; I mean that if you wanted to play the harmonica on the Hohner 38C Mini Harmonica, I really don't know if you could. The reeds are out of tune and when you blow into all the holes, the sound that comes out of it does not even remotely resemble what you would expect to come out of the first four holes of a "real" harmonica.
I only bought this because I was buying a different harmonica and had the option to also purchase this one. I'm not going to rant about how this is a waste of money, because it's less than $2, but I don't suggest buying this "harmonica" if you have intentions of playing it. You could use it as a nice key chain or Christmas Tree ornament, but beyond that, its functionality is severely limited.
- I am a sereious harmonica player and i would recomend it to anyone. it has great tone and the tuning is almost perfect for a factory made harmonica
