- I recently got my guitar a few weeks ago. The guitar is a great deal and it has a surprisingly nice sound to it. The Pickups are ok. The Amp is ok. The guitar it self is well built for not having a solid neck and I have no buzzing a big +++ and it looks great. The only problem I have had is with the strings, they broke the first day. I suggest if you are thinking about buying this bad-boy you order new strings with it. I got some Zakk Wylde 10's and it sounds real nice!!!!!
- I haven't bought this product yet but I wanted to know if it's an average guitar? It's very cheap and for that reason I need to know if the guitar is big as an "normal" Epiphone.
thanks a lot!
- I have to say, I bought this same guitar(just the guitar) at guitar center a while ago for $150. I play professional gigs for guitar and bass and i'm defiantly not a beggineer, but I needed a guitar because i had been playing my brother's Strat(NOT A SQUIRE,NEVER GET A SQUIRE)for most of the gigs, so with money i had left over from the gigs i thought this guitar sounded good, feels good, and for the price-is good. Its not anything near a real epiphone LP, and defiantly not a real GIBSON les paul. Also buy new strings for it too, because in warehouses and after heat gets to it, the strings are very fragile- I recomened Ernie Ball Strings, they're only $3.95.
- This is a beautifully crafted and nice sounding guitar. The cord that comes with it was too "buzzy", so I replaced it - other than that, this is a guitar that is easy to play and great to learn on. The bridge is the best in the industry, the finish is mirror (especially on the black model), and the sound is truly awesome. The amplifier that comes with it is not a Fender amp, but is suitable for practice and small halls. Epiphone gets an A++ from me.

- I'm sorry to put my review of the reseller here but Amazon doesn't let you review them directly if they cancel your order. This reseller would have a very poor rating if this was allowed(I've seen these reviews on many other items they sell). They apparently have very little stock contrary to their claims and have to backorder most things. Then, in my case, they canceled my order when their stock arrived(over a month into backorder) and raised the price of the item on Amazon(same day).

5 comments about Crescent 38" Black Guitar with Gig Bag, Accessories, Beatles Songbook for Guitar and Guitar Lessons E-books.
- i was giving the guitar as a gift. it is a beautiful guitar, but the "free" e-book would not open. when i contacted the company, they took forever to respond. they said i would need to pay them more than $40 to print the "free" e-book for me. so in the end i went to a local store and bought a guitar lesson book.
- I am trying to learn how to play the guitar and chose this item. I have had it for a few weeks now and am pleased so far... it is my ability to learn that scares me.
- Good for someone that just wants to mess around with a guitar but may not be the best choice for someone that is serious about learning how to play. I purchased it for my husband for Christmas to learn on but he is already looking to replace it with a "real guitar" after his 2nd lesson because it will not hold tuning. He is getting frustrated with having to tune it every time he picks it up.
- I ordered the Crescent 38" Black Guitar with accessories from Austin Bazaar. The product arrived within the shipping time indicated on the website...But I had a lot of trouble tuning the D, A and E strings. I used all of the spare strings provided with the product to no avail. I guess at this price the guitar looked like a bargain and I was unlucky to grab one of indifferent quality.
I returned it back and am still waiting for the refund. The shopping experience with Austin Bazaar has been satisfactory though...
So my suggestion to those who want to buy this product...Do it if you are a bit od a risk taker...But if you can afford a little more buy one with a proper electronic tuner (the pitch pipe is crappy for beginners...)
All the best!
- I was looking for a guitar for my grandson for Christmas, I bought a blue one for him and a pink one for my granddaughter. The guitars seemed great to begin learning, they were of good quality and they loved the bag and accessories.

- I just started playing Guitar and after seaching around the internet i found this steal of a guitar. I paid 179.99 from amazon and it shipped free and seeing as im in Iraq thats awsome. Ayway the guitar is very easy to play action isnt to high and its easy to get a clean sound from, tunning is also no problem usualy the top two strings need to be a little tighter after sitting over night but thats about it. The tuner is very helpful and the dvd while not very exciting does have a great cord dictionary thats very helpful to me. Over all for the money i think this is a awsome package the only peice of the package that isnt awsome is the gig bag and at this price who cares the gig bag they give you is just that a bag no padding or anything of that sort.
- Great deal for how much it costs. The customer support at Austin Bazaar is also very good and quick.

1 comments about Rogue Grand Concert Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar, Sunburst.
- Note that although I wrote this review for the natural finish model, since there were no reviews for the sunburst model, I figured I'd post my review here as well...
I only wish there this well-made good sounding Rogue had been available for $99 when I first started playing nearly 25 years ago. For a first guitar (or for a backup for those who are more experienced), this guitar is an amazing deal.
Given the fact that it has a laminated sitka spruce top, the tone is not as bright and clear as a higher cost guitar, but nonetheless it sounds great given the price.
I had consistently read elsewhere that the action on this guitar was quite high, but at $99 I was willing to risk having to adjust the action. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the action was perfect out of the box.
The Fishman Classic 4 electronics work just as expected with the resulting thin-ish tone expected from using a standard-model piezo pickup. If you record the Rogue with a good mike in combination with the pickup, it will sound just fine.
Because I like a very bright but full sound, I replaced the dull sounding Martin's with a set of GHS White Bronze (WBM), which according to GHS are "magnetically active, ideal for acoustic/electric applications..." Finally, to get as big a sound of the Rogue as possible, I replaced the standard plastic bridge pins with a set of D'Andrea brass pins. The brass pins give it a slightly bigger and brighter sound, offsetting the fact that it has a laminate top.
Overall the Rogue Cutaway is a remarkable guitar given the price. The sound might not be ideal, but given that the Fishman electronics cost nearly $100 themselves, it's astonishing that an instrument like this goes for $99. For anyone buying their first acoustic guitar, this guitar is a steal. Likewise, for semi-pros playing on stage or using as a second guitar, this is a great instrument to have in your line-up.

- nice guitar. action is nice. i have experiecned no problems. seriously impressed. me and frend jam with this!
- This guitar, when looked at from a technological point of view on produced sound, is ideal for a 'custom' metal sound. People say that the maple assists to the production of a ligther, thinner sound. The rosewood has no actual change to the sound. The humbuckers are more preferred to a coil, because it is responsible for a thicker sound. This combination is ideal if you belong to the metal, preferably death metal, genre.
- Great action, heavy sound light guitar...I've played Gibsons and this one is truly an Epiphone for someone seeking quality and value at a fraction of the Gibson price.
- Marvellous sound, true metal, perfect tone, superfast neck and a great quality of workmanship. nearly as good as a Gibson SG.
- WHOEVER SAID THIS THING IS GOOD FOR METAL HAD IT NAILED, BUT IT'S ALSO GREAT FOR BLUES AND HARD ROCK. THE SOUND IS AMAZING PLUGGED OR UNPLUGGED, THE BOARD IS EASY TO SLIDE ALL OVER AND THE BODY. IT'S LIGHT AND FOR A LEFTY PLAYING A RIGHTY THE STRAP KNOBS ARE PLACED PERFECTLY (ONE ON THE BACK, ONE ON THE BOTTOM.) BUY THIS THING YOU'LL REGRET IT IF YOU DON'T.I WAS GOING TO BUY THE SG-400 GOTH SERIES, BUT THEN I SAW THIS.

- THis is an awesome guitar. Seriously, I agree with the other reviews even though i have not yet bought it. Great for beginers like me who have no guitar or experience.
- My title says it all, you can't beat the price for everything you get! (I paid $169.00, btw) I like the guitar and amp, and while it may not be near the best guitar and amp you can get, it does the job. Perfect for beginners and those who are on a tight budget. I'm very happy with the package. I have been watching the DVD and have been playing away! Again, for everything you get, you just can't beat it! I couldn't find a better deal anywhere!
- The package arrived 10 days earlier than the estimated day. It came right on time at my daughter's 13 yrs old birthday. Thanks for Silvertone's prompt service. This package has everything you need from learning guitar, including the DVD demo. The guitar is made beautifully in dark brown color, amplifier with cables, DVD....every piece matches the description on the list. We have no complaint with the tutoring DVD but still sent my kid to a guitar lesson, where she started to play her first song. The similar package we found in Target around our neighborhood tagged as $149 plus tax. With couple bucks more, the whole pkg delivered to our front door (thinking of the gasoline price these days...) Overall, this is a good buy!
- This is a great guitar for beginners or professionals alike. The amp is great, and the guitar is a quality product. One of my strings broke the day I got the guitar, but we simply replaced it and moved on.
I'd highly recommend this guitar to anyone looking for a quality product at a great bargain.
- This was a great deal, a brand I was not familiar with but that really doesn't seem to be a problem. I am new to guitar so I didn't want to start out with something super expensive. It is great for a beginner like myself. The package is a great deal, you get everything you need to start playing as soon as you get the box from amazon.

5 comments about Austin Bazaar Double Cutaway Metallic Blue Electric Guitar with 10 Watt Amp - Beginner Kit.
- when i received this product i was very upset. the fret lines were so long they cut my fingers the neck was warped and the guitar was virtually unplayable. i sent it back! i would NOT recomend this product to anyone!
- I ordered the Austin Bazaar Double Cutaway Metallic Blue Electric guitar kit on December 27th 2007, and on Jan 5th, 2008, I got a plain deep blue guitar with a red amp. After contacting this company, they stated that they would replace the guitar with the one I originally ordered, but that they would not replace the amp for a color change. After waiting two weeks to receive a Fed Ex prepaid return shipping label from Austin Bazaar, I shipped the guitar back to them. It was delivered to them on Jan 31, 2008, and as of today, Feb 7, 2008, I still have no guitar. My A to Z guarantee with Amazon was denied. So here I sit with a Visa bill to the tune of $159.63 with nothing but an amplifier in my possession. Can't make very good music with the likes of this, I am afraid. Please order your guitar products from someone OTHER than Austin Bazaar.
- Package included gig bag, adjustable shoulder strap, 3/4 guitar, amp cord, 10 Watt monitor, 3 large picks, tremolo bar, spare strings and two hex keys, and a pitch pipe. I also ordered a GA-30 guitar tuner, which is not part of the basic package.
What I know about guitars you could put in one book without taking the matches out first, but everything is brand new and arrived in good shape. The packaging was adequate; the cardboard box the guitar came in was slightly torn, but the guitar itself was fine inside two layers of sheet foam and the gig bag. The monitor and amp cord came in a separate box, though everything came in one shipment (the tuner was also in the guitar box). Shipping only took three days, as promised.
There are some minor cosmetic scratches on the white plastic frontispiece, but I really do mean minor - you have get right up on it to even notice them. Other than that there were no dings or anything. The guitar seems very solidly put together to me, everything firmly seated with no gaps or warps. It's a bit heavier than I had expected, but that's what the shoulder strap is for I suppose. All the screws are firmly in place and do not show overdriving damage. The potentiometer knobs on the guitar are slightly raised rather than flush against the face (presumably to avoid sticking), seem solidly attached and operate smoothly. The tuning keys are neither too tight to turn easily nor too loose to hold the strings taut. The amplifier cord seats nicely and solidly into the recessed input jack.
The monitor is built to a similarly high standard, with all screws well seated and undamaged, etc. The power switch and drive button have nice positive actions, while the volume, bass and treble potentiometers rotate smoothly without any side play. The amplifier cord seated just as well into the monitor's input jack as into the guitar's, and once I'd found a large size headphone plug it turned out the headphone jack is equally good. The monitor is surprisingly slim and light and has a built-in carrying handle on top. A wire stand folds out from the back if you want it to lean upward rather than sit level; when folded in it has a spring-type retainer.
I tested that the guitar tuner recognized the notes from the pitch pipe, then I used the tuner to tune the guitar; all the strings came in with only minor adjustments. After an hour or so of noodling around (i.e. actively plucking and strumming) to test the various volume and tone controls I re-checked the tuning with the meter and it had held just fine, all strings still right in the sweet spot. After another hour and a half of the guitar sitting neglected while I did laundry (my son is the future rock star, I'm going to be his roadie) a couple had drifted just slightly off the perfect mark but they were all still good notes according to the meter.
All the switches and pots on the guitar and monitor work smoothly, varying what they are supposed to vary continuously with no dead spots. The effect of the two tone pots on the guitar was a little bit subtle to my ear, but I don't know how much effect they normally have. The volume range from the guitar knob was wide enough to be useful. The monitor puts out a good amplitude, especially with the drive button depressed (though it only goes to 10 ;) . Not to worry, the headphone jack also works! The equivalent volume in a pair of headphones is quite a bit louder, so when switching from open-air to quiet practice the player should be sure to start with the volume turned down to avoid overdriven eardrums.
Overall I'm pleased with the quality of the package, especially given the very reasonable price. I'm not a musician but it sounded good to my audience-level ear and so should be quite adequate for a beginner's starter instrument. The shoulder strap is a bit cheap and flimsy but other than that everything seems solid enough.
- Hey, I just wanted to let everyone know when I got my set, she was beautiful. The picutre on the website dosen't do it justice. Its actually the light blue but its flecked making it stunning. Granted I'm just starting myself by my roomate has been playing for a few years and mentioned the 10 watt amp put out plently of power. Also we saw the slot for the wammy bar on the pic but when it came it actually included it. Amp is great, guitar is stunning, impressed my roommate.
Definately would be willing to buy from Austin Bazaar in the future!
(plucks burt's "E")
- We bought this as a gift for our goddaughter. We think it is a great starter guitar.
