- This guitar is freakin bad....the zipper of the gig bag broken in 2 weeks...the tuner dont tune right..the picks are really bad.....the strap is bad..it scratch on shoulder......the metal thing that hold the strap broke .....this guitar is really bad..do not buy it..i dont recommend it...the amp..sounds bad sometimes..this guitar its not good enough for its price...this guitar is worth for me ..like 20 bucks...just that.
- Silvertone guitar and amp played great AND the amp has a headphone jack as well as an input to play along with my iPod. Very cool feature!
- Ok, here's a list of what makes this a bad guitar:
1- The strings don't feel right. Specially the 6th string. It hits the fret board and makes an annoying sound even if you strum lightly.
2- The amp is not clear.
3- The tuner messes the tuning instead of adjusting it.
On the other hand, it has some advantages:
1- The picks are good. They come with different colors.
Conclusion:
Don't buy! Unless it's you 1st guitar and you don't want to spend much money. However, if it's your first time with guitars, I recommend buying an acoustic. Many very good acoustics are sold with cheap prices.
Thanks for reading. I hope this was a helpful review.
- I've been trying to seriously begin playing the guitar for a while, and I bought this one in hopes that spending money on an electric would motivate me more than just using the acoustic that I never had a rapport with. I bought this Silvertone as a starter kit, just looking for something solid and inexpensive. I settled on this one because most of the other guitars in the price range were Austin Bazaar, and Austin Bazaar seems to make very low-quality starter kits in hopes that people who don't know better will buy them.
This guitar has done exactly what I wanted, I can't stop playing it. It comes with everything you need as a beginner--it's already stringed (with light gauge strings, which are good to start with), has a spare set of them as well, picks, amp, tuner, and cable. The only thing you could possibly want added would be a distortion pedal, but a beginner has bigger things to worry about.
I have had no problems at all with the guitar. It is solid and well-built, very satisfying to play. This is probably the best deal you can find on a starter kit.
- THIS IS THE WORST EVER I AM JUST LEARNING HOW TO PLAY AND AFTER THE SECOND DAY THE CABLE TO THE AMP STARTED TO MESS UP (I AM TELLING EVERYONE IN THE WORLD NOT TO BUY THIS JUNK.)

- My son is 2 1/2 yrs old and absolutely loves to sing and dance. This guitar is like his dad's and they "jam" together. Sometimes he just loves to hold it and listen to music as if he's the one playing. I think its great because it is genuine and isn't like his other plastic, gadgety guitars. He has learned to take care of it and loves to show it off. The company we purchase it from has outstanding and responsive customer service. I wanted to buy additional strings and they quoted me a price right away and I had them within two days. Just great!
- This guitar looks like a mini acoustic but the bridge is not even glued into place and you cannot tune the strings at all. My 3 yo is going to be disappointed. Cannot believe how cheap this guitar is!
- The item was shipped quickly which was nice, but it is dinged up and the strings broke the first time my 7 year old played it. It was inexpensive but I expected more from the product. I don't recommend it.
- Having 2 boys who love guitars, this one looked great and although my 2 year old likes it, it's really poorly made. Yes, he's rough with it, but the strings won't stay tuned and tight no matter what we do. Our 3 year old has the First Act guitar and he too is rough with it, but it holds up amazing. Feel like I through money in the trash by getting this guitar.
- There are lots of complaints about this guitar. It's cheap, the components are flimsy, the strings are basically unusable, but here's the thing: there are ways that you can make it a completely functional child's or toy guitar. The tuners have phillips head screws on the back. If they don't stay put, just tighten the screws! If the bridge slips when you replace the strings or de-tune them for any reason, crazy glue it into place! I am going to put some uke strings on it so it sounds goofy and hawaiian. not a guitar i would gig with, but if you are going to pay less than 30 bucks for a musical instrument, than you have to expect that it isn't going to be a beautiful piece of work. with a little modding, it can be more than it is out of the box.

- My son just turned 4 and he loves this guitar! My husband has many guitars and has been playing for years and he thinks this is a good one too. Seems like good quality, nice nylon strings that work just like real ones, and the perfect size for my son.
- I thought that this would be a good guitar for someone I know who has small hands. It isn't bad in general, but we have had one problem with it. It refuses to stay in tune long enough to play more than one song. And the tuning pins seems to slip a little. It must be tuned so frequently that this has become rather frustrating. Perhaps it just needs more time for the strings to settle in, but my other guitars are not this difficult to keep in tune. If you can deal with the tuning problem, I guess it would be a good beginner's guitar. For what I paid for it, I guess you can't complain. I suppose you could say that it's good for a beginner to have to do frequent tuning and that way he learns very quickly the notes of each open string! Just be aware that if you would be frustrated by frequent tuning, this one may not be for you.

- i was giving the guitar as a gift. it is a beautiful guitar, but the "free" e-book would not open. when i contacted the company, they took forever to respond. they said i would need to pay them more than $40 to print the "free" e-book for me. so in the end i went to a local store and bought a guitar lesson book.
- I am trying to learn how to play the guitar and chose this item. I have had it for a few weeks now and am pleased so far... it is my ability to learn that scares me.
- Good for someone that just wants to mess around with a guitar but may not be the best choice for someone that is serious about learning how to play. I purchased it for my husband for Christmas to learn on but he is already looking to replace it with a "real guitar" after his 2nd lesson because it will not hold tuning. He is getting frustrated with having to tune it every time he picks it up.
- I ordered the Crescent 38" Black Guitar with accessories from Austin Bazaar. The product arrived within the shipping time indicated on the website...But I had a lot of trouble tuning the D, A and E strings. I used all of the spare strings provided with the product to no avail. I guess at this price the guitar looked like a bargain and I was unlucky to grab one of indifferent quality.
I returned it back and am still waiting for the refund. The shopping experience with Austin Bazaar has been satisfactory though...
So my suggestion to those who want to buy this product...Do it if you are a bit od a risk taker...But if you can afford a little more buy one with a proper electronic tuner (the pitch pipe is crappy for beginners...)
All the best!
- I was looking for a guitar for my grandson for Christmas, I bought a blue one for him and a pink one for my granddaughter. The guitars seemed great to begin learning, they were of good quality and they loved the bag and accessories.

- I bought this guitar for my 9 year old son. It is a good guitar for a younger person who is not sure if they are serious about it. It is not a high quality but you are not paying for high quality. It is well made though and should last for as long as you need it to.
- This this is awesome. They had everything I needed to set up the guitar, connect it to the amp, tune it and start jamming! Its great for the garage jamming session. I love the glossy black color; looks great. Produces a vibrant sound. It comes with a 10 Watt amp. The amp is small but has good output. Loud enough to annoy the neighbors:-). I recommend it. Thums up!
- My son who is 14 seems to like the thing, but I find that the amplifier buzzes annoyingly.
- To be frank, this guitar is perfect for those wanting to start learning how to play. It ships very quickly, much quicker than I expected, it sounds great, and the amp is quite powerful for it's small size.
For the advanced guitar players though, you might want to buy a better quality guitar, as there's not a lot you can do with this one but learn and feel like you're a professional, even when you're not.
5/5 stars, quick to ship, great quality for the price.

- nice guitar. action is nice. i have experiecned no problems. seriously impressed. me and frend jam with this!
- This guitar, when looked at from a technological point of view on produced sound, is ideal for a 'custom' metal sound. People say that the maple assists to the production of a ligther, thinner sound. The rosewood has no actual change to the sound. The humbuckers are more preferred to a coil, because it is responsible for a thicker sound. This combination is ideal if you belong to the metal, preferably death metal, genre.
- Great action, heavy sound light guitar...I've played Gibsons and this one is truly an Epiphone for someone seeking quality and value at a fraction of the Gibson price.
- Marvellous sound, true metal, perfect tone, superfast neck and a great quality of workmanship. nearly as good as a Gibson SG.
- WHOEVER SAID THIS THING IS GOOD FOR METAL HAD IT NAILED, BUT IT'S ALSO GREAT FOR BLUES AND HARD ROCK. THE SOUND IS AMAZING PLUGGED OR UNPLUGGED, THE BOARD IS EASY TO SLIDE ALL OVER AND THE BODY. IT'S LIGHT AND FOR A LEFTY PLAYING A RIGHTY THE STRAP KNOBS ARE PLACED PERFECTLY (ONE ON THE BACK, ONE ON THE BOTTOM.) BUY THIS THING YOU'LL REGRET IT IF YOU DON'T.I WAS GOING TO BUY THE SG-400 GOTH SERIES, BUT THEN I SAW THIS.

- I ordered this guitar for my grandson for Christmas. There is no way to keep the strings tight even though you turn the screws to tighten. When you do tighten, the strings are brittle (as if really old) and break. To get a refund on this item you have to obtain an RMA, pay for return shipping (which will probably be almost as much as the guitar) and they will issue a refund after they receive the guitar back. So I will probably be out about $10.00!!
- It doesn't look as pictured and has a hollow sound, even if it is a beginner childrens guiter.
- My daughter needed a new guitar for Christmas. She doesn't play, just uses it for fun. This was an excellent value for such a use. The case is great too!
- This is some pretty firewood. It does not stay in tune, nor will it play as a real guitar. This is strictly a toy and should not be purchased if you want your child to start learning how to play. I was really dissappointed when I got it out of its box.
- I may just need to buy another guitar. So one can be at their house and one for here. It is a very nice little guitar - better than I expected for the money.

- Came in great shape, superbly maintained & handled. Was also at a great price. Good for beginner to intermediate guitarist.
- I bought this guitar through Amazon as my first acoustic guitar acouple months ago and I haven't put it down since. I have a les paul but I almost always practice with this guitar. Sounds great and the fret board is almost identical in size to the les paul's. Stays in tune well but its very sensitive to temperature (but what instrument isn't). The only thing to watch out for is denting this guitar. It is not a tank, it will dent if you bang it into the corner of a desk or table. If you are a beginner looking for a first acoustic guitar BUY THIS GUITAR. If you want a guitar with a little more prestige you should be slapped, buy this guitar and figure out the basics. I was planning on buying a comparable guitar for 400 but I got this for $150!!! this guitar is worth it.
- I got this guitar after just 3 or 4 lessons, to practice on and stuff, and i was very pleased when i opened the box. The guitar has held up nicely, no scratches or dents even though i accidentally bang it against tables, etc. It sounds good to me, but i dont have much to compare it to...overall i am very happy with it
- I purchased this guitar 6 years ago from a guitar store for about $300. I LOVE it. If I had to do it over I would buy the same one. It is great to learn on. The action (how high the strings are off the fretboard) is low which helps your fingers not have to work so hard and hurt less. My neighbor has a $1000 Martin acoustic and when we get together he always snags mine to play with for a while. He loves it. He has been playing for over 30 years and he cant get over how nice this guitar sounds. It does ding up pretty easily when you hit it on the coffee table but that just adds character right. Im not really worried about it because I never plan on getting rid of mine. I highly recommend this guitar for beginners and anyone who wants a great guitar for a great price.
- The Yamaha F-310 Acoustic Guitar was my very first guitar, and I grew to love it. I played it for 6 years, and it never failed. Since then I have upgraded to a Gibson Songwriter Cutaway (which plays like a dream), and I gave away my trustworthy Yamaha to a lucky person. I sometimes wish I still had my old F-310. I beat it up pretty bad, but the tone and playability never diminished. Don't let the price fool you...this yamaha is everything you could want in a beginner/intermediate guitar. With the right set of fresh strings, this guitar sounds comparable to higher-end guitars in the upper hundreds. Buy this Yamaha, and it'll be one purchase you don't regret.
