5 comments about Zoom H2 Handy Portable Stereo Recorder.
  1. I had read that this unit wasn't sturdy, but I found it sturdy enough for any reasonable use. It is so feature packed for the price point that I have no complaints. The recording quality is good enough for demo CD's and it's pretty intuitive to use.

  2. I purchased this item for my husband who has been delighted with it from day one. He uses it to record speeches at conventions and conferences. It's incredibly easy to use and the recording is crystal clear. Would recommend without reservation.

  3. I play drums in several bands and found this to be a great learning tool in rehearsals. It remembers! Well better than we can, a recording tells no lies. Anyway, I rate this item the highest posssible 5 and 1/2 stars. Buy it you can't go wrong. I wish I owned shares in Zoom.....
Oh the quality, just the best, the sound even better. I recorded my 4 drum sets for comparisons to each of the sets and you could hear the slightest change of ambient sound and tone from one of my studios to the other room,Studio II. I just can't say anymore, except the built-in mic.'s are really good. Oh, this is the second one my band purchased because the first one was so great and each of us wanted our own to record the band on a whole as well. I gotta go practice!!!

  4. I'm a musician and use this to record rehearsals. It is very simple to use and provides outstanding quality once you get a feel for which settings work best in which situations. A band mate has a Zoom H2 and he is constantly fiddling with it while this thing is completely intuitive. A real bargain and I like that it doesn't have a bunch of guitar effects and other junk to complicate things.

  5. I bought this through Amazon, with the additional 4GB media and external media reader. It has worked great for live recording, as a computer recording interface for a laptop, and for recording from the radio (or any directly connected device). I heartily recommend this recorder. The external reader is really handy too, for speedily transferring files to your computer.

In another review, I saw that the reviewer was having trouble adjusting the input levels when the source was directly connected to the unit (other than recording through the microphone). The trick here is that, apparently by design you cannot adjust the level while the input plug is connected, so you need to disconnect the input to adjust the level, then reconnect it. Kludgey iterative process, but effective as a work-around. This may have been fixed in a software update by the time you read this.

Be sure to update the software online when you receive the unit.

    Happy recording!

  1. It was given as a gift to my boyfriend he wanted it and needed it. It arrived promply.

  2. Very happy with it. I was very happy that it was 6 feet! The length was something I didnt even pay atention to the length when I bought it, but I lucked out.

  3. This was exactly what I was looking for, the wire was a little longer than expected but it worked with my camera!

  4. The cables work great! hook directly to my macbook to transfer HD video from my canon camcorder. works seamlessly with imovie HD version 6

  5. Sturdy connectors that lock in firmly and no data errors. And for less than a quarter the price of a firewire cable at most retail stores.

5 comments about Verbatim DVD+R DL 8.5GB 2.4X 20pk Spindle.
  1. The verbatim DVD+R DL 8.5GB 2.4x 20 Pk Spindle of discs have been able to let me continue to create DVD discs with my computer which is a Media Computer. I have had problems in locating this speed disc from other sources than Amazon. I find a complete line of quality products and where I have trouble locating them, I find Amazon usually comes through with their own stock or others that they have represented on their Web Site.

  2. These are great disks, and amazon has a better price on them than anywhere else except maybe sams club

  3. I was quite concerned about finding a DVD +R DL that would work. Most reviews pointed to these Verbatims. So far, so good. Interestingly, went to purchase more and the price had gone up 10%. So I guess I'll wait and monitor the pricing for a better deal. The one package I have purchased so far seems to work well.

  4. I was fortunate enough to receive MIS instead of MII, it is unbelievable how good these DVDs really are. All other brands I've purchased before gave errors on the second layer, but not with these. 20 out of 20.

  5. In the past year, I've burned dozens of cakeboxes of Verbatim DLs sold in purple shrink wrap. In my experience, it doesn't matter where the discs are made - India, Singapore or Timbuktu: some of the cakeboxes give me good burns and some of them don't, and there's no way I can predict the outcome of the burns by looking at the package. That's why I think it's a crap shoot.

I've had cakeboxes of discs made in India that rendered excellent C1 and C2 scores and provided superb video reproduction. I've had cakeboxes made in Singapore that rendered terrible C1 and C2 scores and provided grainy, blotchy video reproduction. And vice versa.

I get fewer coasters from a cakebox of Verbatim DLs in the purple shrink wrap than I get from competing brands.

Given the erratic quality control of these Verbatim DLs, I think they're overpriced.

  1. Go to Staples and pay $40 for this, or order it online for $10 shipped.

  2. Does the job well but you must account for the cord being tightly wound in the package. I suppose this curl will work itself out over time but if you antcipate using the full length of the cord for your application, be advised that you will need to work out the curl.

  3. Belkin F3U133-16 USB 2.0 A/B Cable (16 Feet) I did buy this USB por my second printer, and it's working very well, the shipping was so fast and I highly recommend this product, actually I am in one month trial with amazon prime, but definately I am very happy with the service and I recommend to everyone who buys a lot from this site. I'm gonna keep it for 1 year.

    Thank you so much AMAZON!!!

  4. When I shop, I always look for the Belkin name first.
    They make good, strong products.

  5. This is a great cable - plugged it in and printer works fine - 2x the price at big box stationary store lol

5 comments about Memorex 700MB/80-Minute 52x CD-R Media (100-Pack Spindle).
  1. Good value for the price. I prefer Memorex to other available products and the 100 CD's is a good deal.

  2. First off, great value, great price, and great that it comes with the 100 CD's I really need for all my computing and media needs, especially since it takes me 10 of these to backup my computer fully. And like I said, 9 out of 10 work great, especially when I'm burning a music CD. However, when play back that 10th CD, I've come to find that at least one of the tracks has a defect in them. It's not the music, or the burning method, or the user, it's the CD. But for the price, it's still a great buy. And I highly recommend it, just watch out for that 10th CD.

  3. I've tried Memorex, TDK, Maxell, Sony, Imation and Verbatim discs, primarily for musical-radio use, and they've proven close to equally effective in my experience. Moreover, the more expensive versions designated as "For Music" have no better audio quality than the same manufacturers' "non-designated" discs. So if you favor the least expensive of otherwise equal alternatives, Memorex is almost always the best bet. Since the current price of a 50-disc pack is almost triple the cost of the same Memorex spindle I purchased from Amazon last December, I'm seeking to reduce the damage by going with the 100-pack this time.

[Later: A day after ordering these, I discovered that Walgreen's was selling TDK 50-pack spindles for seven bucks. Lesson: especially with the declining demand for CDs, it pays to stay alert and, when the moment is propitious, to stock up.]

  4. you have no idea how many cd's i go through in a weeks time... i needed this more than you know... thanks

  5. I copied simple cds and used the entire 100 disks, and had a failure rate of 30%. You get what you pay for.

5 comments about Memorex 8.5GB 8X Double Layer DVD+R (50pk Spindle).
  1. These Memorex double layer DVD+R discs perform as expected. I use these discs for recording files or programs that are too large to fit on a single layer DVD. Backups of my operating system or diagnostic programs are two examples - things that can't be compressed to fit on a single layer DVD.

  2. There is a bad problem in writing to these discs. Even several DVD Software programs warn against using them.

  3. So after spending a full weekend burning a bunch of these, I come to find out almost all of them have some kind of issue about 3/4 into the movie to where they are not playable. Only about 2 out of 10 worked with no issues. What a waste of time and money. Read the other reviews. Don't buy these. Since I have already used about 10, they are probably not returnable so what a waste of $50 and a lot of time burning them! If I could have given no stars, I would have.

  4. this is the second set of these that i've bought and i don't have any real complaints... there are always a few "coasters" in every spindle i've bought, regardless of the brand... these are cheap compared to others that i've priced and they work just as well. i would recomend them to just about anyone looking for dual layer discs.

  5. discs dont work. buy verbatim. if u buy these buy from amazon so u can get refunded if they dont work

5 comments about Roxio Toast 9 Titanium.
  1. I've always relied on Apple for innovative computers and devices but frankly I don't think they've done a lot in the software area. Sure they may have created certain video and audio formats, but they've left it up to other software makers to pick up the slack. I mention this because I think that Toast shows how much can be squeezed out of Apple hardware and its done much better than Apple itself.

I immediately noticed that every aspect of disk authoring is more efficient and faster. Is anyone else surprised that the program burns blu-ray disks on a regular dvd burner? That's what I mean about software utilizing hardware capability. It may not be a true blu-ray disk in the sense that it doesn't have as much data, but the quality is there. There are 2 ways to fit large files to as few disks as possible. There is a fit to DVD feature. If the file is still too big the program will span the files over as many disks as it needs. With better video quality taking up more space I use this feature more than ever.

Like many software companies you can get a rebate for upgrading. I take advantage of these offers for my security and tax programs and this is no different. It's worth sending in the paperwork and getting a discount. For those who haven't used Toast before I would say that it is an essential program, much like a wordprocessing one.

  2. At first glance Toast 9 looks like any other burning program. It does much more though. Before you burn there are tools to trim videos and don't worry about wasted space. If you're in a hurry like I am much of the time there is a compression option which is another way it saves room. The end results will work on multiple systems. Come on, not everyone has a Mac so I need Windows playable discs. I'm now saving everything in HD which of course takes a lot more space. I can use ordinary discs and not have to buy any special ones. I've also made more use of my Blackberry. I can export from the Mac to the phone with Toast's tools. I have made use of old tapes too with the tape to digital with the Spin Doctor assistant. Of course with all the options it needs to have a good interface. Check on that. Menu items are organized in a logical fashion. Of course there's still the old point and click for several main functions.

  3. My children's school projects are now demanding more software from my Mac. I'll be getting them their own soon but until then my home Mac is the center of their school work. My son likes to make videos for boy scouts and school assignments. Clearly my my old Apple programs couldn't meet the demands. Armed with an HD camcorder the video he takes demands much more computer space. He also has to burn pc compatible disks. This brought me to Toast 9. It can burn HD video and make hybrid disks. It compresses the video files so it takes as little room as possible. Sometimes we still need more than one disk but the spanning disks feature takes care of that. The program lets us know how many disks are needed before we start the burning process. Toast will convert video to the video ipod. This allows my children to work on their video projects while commuting. After learning a lot by helping with school projects I'm better at organizing home videos. The dvd menu creator is so easy there is no reason not to take the steps to make better looking disks, even if it is just for family archives.

  4. I have a number of problems with Toast 9. You get NO help from the support at the website. Would not tell anyone to buy this product or any from the company!!!

  5. Kids today, they think Apple makes the coolest stuff so their pc is a Mac although I still use a Dell. Creator for the pc is good so I thought that getting a roxio program for the Mac would be a good investment. I was right. It works different enough from the pc verison that sometimes I sneak time on the Mac and play around. The interface is easy, although I think that is a given for roxio programs. I have gotten frustrated with other Mac programs so I don't think an easy to figur out interface is a given. I like that it pauses in the middle of burning if you need to stop. Another thing it has over the pc version is tv streaming. I would like to see this feature in future pc versions. For now we use toast to the iPhone. Now that I know what it can do I'll be buying Apples new phones as our old ones become obsolete.

  1. IREALLY WISH I COULD COMMENT ON THIS BUT I HAVE YET TO RECIEVE THE PRODUCT... THREE WEEKS WAITING AND COUNTING . HOPEFULLY I WILL BE WORTH THE WAIT.

  2. Product was shipped and received on time in perfect condition. I am very happy with their service,

  3. I broke my printer cable & was not sure what it was called. After looking at the really good close-up of this one, I decided this was it and the price was very reasonable.
It is a perfect fit for my HP 5940 and my Dell Optiplex. I can now print with ease. The cable works perfectly.
Thanks for the great photos. I don't know how many I looked at that MAY have been correct but this one was the best photo so I could tell that it was the right one. Good price, too.

  4. I use the cable to hook up a printer to a wireless print server. The cable worked and is much cheaper compared to cables from retail stores.

  5. Although it is a small item - I'm very happy with it's quality and the price was a tremendous savings from the retail stores I checked out. Thanks again Amazon.

  1. I ordered this item from Abacus 24/7. As another review noted, they sent the same type of cable illustrated above. Shipping was fast. I had the item within 3 days. Thus far the cable works perfectly, and seems sturdy enough. For the price ($4 and change w/shipping) you can't beat this deal. The cheapest toslink cable I could find was at Wal-Mart and that was $16.95! I recommend this item and this vendor!

  2. This cable works great. Came in fairly fast and hooked up no problem. Not an issue with it.

Good thing about this cable is that it can double as a whip. Makes a wonderful melee weapon while LARPing with your friends. Anyone getting too close to you is going to feel the wrath of the Toslink!

  3. Like other reviewers have stated I ordered this cable from Abacus 24/7. Total with shipping came in a little over $4. Plugged in the cable and all is good. I can now get Dolby Digital into my receiver from my TV. :)

  4. I bought these from Vortex Cable via Amazon. I don't know if all sellers are the same, but they combined shipping for me. I ordered five and paid the same shipping for one.

As people have stated, this cable is digital so it has the same signal quality of the "ripoff" cables costing $50+.

The only thing I noticed was that it would not snap tightly into my 360. No problems on the PS3, TV, or Onkyo Toslink connections though. I bought a $12 Phillips cable from WalMart and that snapped into the 360 perfectly.

I saved a ton of money using these for the other connections, and would highly recommend them to anyone but 360 users.

  5. Great price. I don't notice a difference between this cable and my older "brand-name" cable which costed 10-15x more a few years ago ($30 aproximately). Shipping was expensive and costed more than the cable.

5 comments about Sony DVC-60 PR/5 Premium Minidv Videocassette (5-Pack).
  1. When I first started videotaping weddings, I needed a tape that I could count on, so I asked my supplier- B&H out of New York. They're probably the biggest supplier in the country. They recommended these tapes, and added most people in that industry use them and love em. So I started using them, and haven't had any regrets! They're reasonably priced, and seem to deliver the quality that I need! But Amazon definitely gave me a much better price than B&H did.

  2. These tapes are my standard when shooting with my 2 Panasonic PV-GS300's they are rock solid tapes, always record well and playback fine even 2 years after they were recorded. They are a great value. I keep about 20 to 30 around my shop at all times for my shoots. If you are shooting SD video and need cheap, solid tapes, these are the ones you need!

  3. They are the cheapest I've found and work good. Nice quality as far as I can tell.

  4. Great product!
Converted all video taken to DVD then reused tape over and over.
The Sony brand has worked better than the TDK or Panasonic product used previously.
No drop outs or annoying distortions.
Did have to buy and routinely use the Sony head cleaning tape for the Sony miniDV Camcorder.
Pricing from Amazon for all items were great!

  5. I have been using the Sony mini DV cassettes for the last 3 years and I always rely on sony products for good quality videos..
