2. This is an excellent book and easy to read - provides a history of the cello, cellists and cello music. I found it hard to put down and wished it was longer! Have lent it to several friends who are also adult cello students and are also equally impressed.

1. I found out that I was getting a cello for Christmas and immediately began looking for reading material about care and maintenance tips when I found this book. The book is short, but packed with great information for someone not used to taking care of such a large, fragile object and how to keep it in top condition. There is also helpful information on what to look for in purchasing a new or used cello, as well as a general history. In all, I feel more prepared for when I take the cello out of the case for the first time, and what to look for when and if problems arise.



2. This book is great because it is correlated with a web site - Everytime they give you a new tip there is a video that goes with it, so if you don't really quite understand what they're saying, you can figure it out by watching. I just started playing cello and it's helped a lot, i think it's probably better for adults than children.



3. It's a good book. The amount of information is amazing.Recommend it for anyone just starting or in the market for a cello.



4. A really excellent resource - especially for the beginner, but also a handy reference quide. I wish this tipbook series were available for ALL the instruments that I play.

1. First of all, it is a very encouraging book for young people as it has a map in the back for mapping progress with stickers. It is not only our favorite but the favorite of 4 of the 5 teachers we have used. It really is a wonderful book. You are able to hear real songs right from the beginning so that there is definite motivation!

1. This is a great book to practice cello and have fun with these movie melodies, the CD is a helpful device, there are some pieces a little bit difficult for me that I'm a begginer but not too much, I'm very pleased with this book and CD.

1. This book is good for beginners from age 6 and above. It covers almost all basics in music notation, and progress at an easy pace throughout the book. Selection of music is nice, though sometimes I came across a few other adaptations and variaty in other books. I am a violin teacher, and I highly recommend this book as teaching material for new beginners to music.

1. This is a very good music book for children beginning to learn to play the violin. It starts with explaining how to hold you bow and violin with nice illustrations. The lessons in this book go from basic to moderate playing levels. Everything that you will do in this book is explained in detail at the top of every page. There is an illustration also. There are some very nice pieces of music in this book also. I reccomend this book to any beginners.



2. I'm a cello student and I really like this book a lot. I tried to read ahead though, and it doesn't really explain things well enough for a novice. With my instructor and the lessons, the book is perfect. I recommed the CD's that go along with it... they are sold separately.
