  1. I dont actually have one yet. But I really want one. Or any good bass. I'd rather get a black bass tho.

  2. it took way longer that they said. not only that it came with chips on the body. the neck has a defect. it is curved and you cant adjust it right.

  3. I bought the bass for my boyfriend becuase he always wanted one, and at the price I got it for it was great. It arrived quickly and in very good shape, it looked just like the picture that was showed. The only thing I didn't like and my boyfriend didn't like was the carrying bag broke right when he unzipped the little compartment on it. He just went ahead and took it off and sewed a button on instead which worked better. The accesories work great also, but Like I said for the price I was happy with the bass and so is my boyfriend, the only reason I gave it 4 stars is mainly becuase of the carrying bag breaking right when he unzipped it.

  1. I first looked at this bass guitar reading the review of Stewart Teaze of the Yamaha ERB070 Bass Guitar Package. When I purchased the bass guitar I was pleasantly surprised by its quality, sound and feel. I am happy I went for this Yamaha Gigmaker EB because for 70 odd dollars more, you get a better guitar and 13 more watts on the amp. The amp works great btw, quiet enough to practice but loud enough to play gigs if need be. I highly recommend this product if your a serious beginner/intermediate bass player.

  1. This guitar is well built and has great sound .I just got it and I can play so many great songs like the pros and it sounds just like them.I totally recommend this guitar for people of all ages.

  2. this bass has an AWESOME design, heavy, but idk if its supposed to,lol. works really well, had some problems with the strap coming off, but overall, good sound, fun design, the stand is really great, shipping was fast, and i love it!!!!!!!!!

  3. Now let's face it this isn't the best bass, neither is it professional, but for 100 bucks you get the bass, a pick, a tuner, a case, a strap, and a stand. that is a VERY GOOD DEAL. the bass has a cool design and is perfect for beginners. the crafting of the bass you will notice is a little cheap, however it still looks, plays and feels great. i recommend this bass to beginners, NOT professionals.

  1. When I saw this in a catalogue it seemed like a deal I couldn't pass up. Electric and acoustic AND a bass. I mean, what would an ACOUSTIC bass sound like? I, of course, knew they were out there but the base cost seems to be around $350, so I bought this one. Why, even one almost exactly similar with just a sidecut in it for easier reaching of the high frets is like $60 more. So, I tried this out. Right out of the box there were a lot of little rattlings inside the guitar. I had to fish out chips of glue that came off. They will look like beads at first. Then I had to tune the guitar, and even afterwards there was much buzz and rattle no matter how gently you struck the strings. As well, the tone was not so deep so as to differentiate bass from treble. I guess that wouldn't matter if you're just buying it for personal enjoyment. Yet, still, then there's a straplock on the bottom of it- but none on the top! Do we wind the strap at the bottom of the neck?!?! As well, after tuning it, and then also taking into consideration a very un-deep tone, the strings were awkwardly loose as- as some put it, "rubber bands." I bought this bass for two reasons: For something light that I could pick up and play at a whim and at the first strike of musical idea; something that I wouldn't have to plug in. The key was a mixture of convenience and feasible function. I don't feel that either were met. It seems that for anything acoustic, the base cost for something practical is near the $300 mark, especially for a bass, since they would have to figure out how to make a deeper tone out of the same technique used to create a regular acoustic guitar...

  2. I don't usually write these little review things on websites, but I am extremely pleased with this purchase. I bought this bass solely for the purpose of quiet practicing/jamming in my apartment, where an amplified electric bass would not be welcomed with open arms. If you're considering it for this purpose you'll be completely satisfied. For the cash spent, it doesn't get much better than this. This is a sturdy instrument that you won't have to worry about being too 'careful' with. I've found myself hauling this thing around to friends houses, get-togethers, etc. with no case and having a blast with it. The finish and general appearance are nothing fancy at all, but if your about the music, you won't even notice. It has a different feel and requires a slightly different playing style than electric bass (just as an acoustic guitar differs from electric) but I found myself adjusting quite easily. I highly suggest changing the stock strings to flatwounds, which are smooth as silk on this thing, because this instrument tends to create a bit of finger noise with the roundwounds. I've been playing guitar/bass for 16 years and own several expensive instruments and this well built, inexpensive gem has no problem keeping up. Overall: A ton of fun and a unique playing experience!

  3. Each time I pick up this bass I'm impressed with how fine an instrument it is for the price. My entire technique is improving as I have to rise to meet the clarity of sound my Playmate provides. The craft of its manufacture is high, the tone is clear and volume good, and the price is spectacular. My first worry was that this would be a dumbed down, inferior version of the Dean Performer EAB. That fear didn't materialize. The same Dean attention to quality has gone into this instrument as into the higher end Performer. Note: My Playmate has a cutout body for reaching the entire fingerboard...and I didn't buy through Amazon.

  4. I have the 5 string model and have played the 4s at stores. I'm very impressed with this instrument for the price! The quality is excellent, the bass itself plays well - my only issue is while the action sits quite low and the instrument is very playable, the string noise with the roundwounds is annoying. I believe I will try some flats or coated strings, because I wouldn't want the action higher on the bass. I haven't had much chance to plug it in, but that is because my huge Ampeg cab is at the rehearsal space. This is my jump-in-the-car and go jam bass, and it suits that purpose fine.

  1. A really nice beginner bass, amp is unfortunately just barely adequate. But given the price, still a fair deal.

  2. This bass really impressed me...it is very light and the sound is quite good. It is an outstanding starter bass but has the feel of a more expensive bass. The amp is well small and work fine, but a larger model is really need to sustain powerful tone. I would recommend getting additional gig bag, cord and tuner....they all work but are not of the highest quality...but what can you expect from a packaged deal right?

  3. excellent price, sounds not bad either, has everything you need for the budding musician

  4. This is a very nice combo at a cheap price, especially for beginners. The extremely fast shipping took exactly two days, so that was nice. After a few months, I've had some problems though.

When I first got it, the amp was dead. Didn't work at all until I opened it up and saw that a soldered cord had mysteriously snapped off a contact, possibly during some bumpy shipping. I simply fixed it by removing some the cord's plastic and wiring it onto the port. From then on the amp worked, but because of it's size you should just use it for practicing, but look into buying a bigger amp if you want to perform with it.

My strap broke after a while since it is kinda cheapish and low-quality so I got a better one. Same with the cord - it snapped when I tripped over it, and it's short anyway so I got a longer, better one.

I've had trouble with the bass making weird buzzing noises at certain frets, so that's a bit annoying.

The instructional dvd wasn't all too good... I bought an Idiot's instructional book that turned out better, so get a book as well.

Other than all that, it's a good deal for a beginner, with a nice sound and everything. After a while, it's ideal to get a new bass.

  5. this is a great bass for starters if your small its light and the amp is great the only thing that was a little bad was the instructional DVD they dont have the greatest teacher but otherwiseit was great oh yah dont underestimate the picks.

  1. This guitar was awesome. I got it yesterday. Totally sweet.

  2. I sent my son out to pick up another base and he brought this back. It's nice and all but I asked for a base. I coach little league and some dog's run off with second base for the third time this month. The boy's just mixed up. Anyway it's got good color and a deep sound - but I always thought these things had six strings. You learn something new every day.

  3. Great little guitar. Good sound. Seemed to be of good quality, until today. Just got it August 20th, now it won't work. Amplifier plays with another guitar, so it is not broken. One minute the guitar is playing and the next it is not. Was not playing it loud at the time it went out. Not sure what the problem is. Anyway, I hate that it has happened. Was very happy with the purchase for approximately 4 months & 2 weeks, I guess.

  4. everything works. nice guitar. not the color i expected, ordered cobalt blue, the giutar is a violet color. scratched up a little too. but i'm pleased.

  1. After reading some of the negative reviews, I had a case of buyer's remorse. The bass guitar with accessories and speaker arrived today - lightening fast delivery - and there is no more buyer's remorse. The guitar and accessories are exactly as described, and better than anticipated since I had bought my husband a bass guitar last Christmas and paid twice as much for "almost" the same package. The speaker is smaller, but this is for my grandson, and, for his purposes, it is perfect!
