1. Fantastic book! This is the book beginners should start with, many instructional books and cd's assume the beginnner already knows quite a bit about song structure, back-up and so on but his one explains everything so simply and concisely. Its easy to follow from the very start, the songs are a must have collection of jam tunes for typical bluegrass sessions. They are all well thought out and cleverly arranged, keeping them simple making them very quick to learn. Designed to be used alongside the mandolin and guitar editions, a few beginners can work together and get these songs down with minimal grief! It'll have you playing whole songs in no time. I recommended the mandolin book to a friend and she loves it!

The book "Delux Encyclopedia of Banjo Chords: For Five String and Plectrum Banjo-G & C Tuning", is an excellent handbook for those banjo pickers who want an access to common major chords as well as very uncommon chords to possibly enhance the music they're playing or make the playing easier. I would recommend it to any banjo picker no matter what the experience level.

1. This is a fabulous book by a new author. If I hadn't been aware of that fact, I would have thought it was a new yarn by L. Scott Thurow or John Grisham. Hood is obviously familiar with his subject. His indepth knowledge of banjo pickers, federal prosecutors, and South America, along with his ability to tell a page-turning story that forces you to stay up long past bedtime, makes this an enormously enjoyable book. The twists in the plot are not at all predictable and made this a book I just HAD to read in a couple of sittings. I finished this book and immediately found myself hoping Hood will write another.

1. My children and I loved the story, but when we got to the last page we really did listen in our minds what each of the instruments sounded like both individually and as a bad playing a song. We talked about the book and story long after we brought it back to the library.
   Ten years later as we are sitting at the table talking, the book came up again! So I called the library we got it from and found the title. Now once again we are enjoying it together along with our grandchildren children.

2. I ordered this product, and it has worked best for my style of play. I have tried using other tablature before, and had more struggles with those. The Dillard Songbook has clicked with me the most. If you're one that likes to play the older songs, this book has lots of them, including songs they played on Andy Griffith. There is easier background tablature included to learn with the songs as well. The chordage is easier for me, and the finger rolls are easier, and more enjoyable to play. The tablature in this songbook is also easier to memorize the songs faster. It's more relaxing and calming to learn and play as well. I haven't had to make any changes in their tablature, because it works best for me and my playing.
