- I purchased this for a Santa gift for a public school kid. I opened the box to be sure it was in good condition. It is a cute little toy guitar, very lightweight and easily managed by a child. The tuning pegs need to be tightened in order to tune the guitar. Once I tuned it, it sounded pretty good but hard for an adult's fingers. It is real wood and these are real guitar strings, and includes accessories. I only wish I could see this little girl's face when she opens the gift from Santa! The price is right for a functioning guitar for a little kid to start off with.
- The strings wouldn't tighten. Not sure if it's worth paying more shipping to return it.
- This kid acoustic guitar looks really nice, but when it comes to using it, we had to DUCT TAPE the tuner knobs in order to keep the strings in place. And we had to use A LOT OF DUCT TAPE. The guitar is of no use if the strings won't stay in place and without duct tape, we couldn't get one string to play.
Now that it is all duct taped, my 3 year old does enjoy it, but the toy shouldn't have to be duct taped in order to work properly.
- We purchased this guitar as a Christmas present for our young son, since he sees daddy playing guitar quite a bit. It is a very stylish looking guitar with nice accessories, but don't expect to be able to tune it to sound anything like an actual guitar. It is best for pretend play more than anything.

- My son is 2 1/2 yrs old and absolutely loves to sing and dance. This guitar is like his dad's and they "jam" together. Sometimes he just loves to hold it and listen to music as if he's the one playing. I think its great because it is genuine and isn't like his other plastic, gadgety guitars. He has learned to take care of it and loves to show it off. The company we purchase it from has outstanding and responsive customer service. I wanted to buy additional strings and they quoted me a price right away and I had them within two days. Just great!
- This guitar looks like a mini acoustic but the bridge is not even glued into place and you cannot tune the strings at all. My 3 yo is going to be disappointed. Cannot believe how cheap this guitar is!
- The item was shipped quickly which was nice, but it is dinged up and the strings broke the first time my 7 year old played it. It was inexpensive but I expected more from the product. I don't recommend it.
- Having 2 boys who love guitars, this one looked great and although my 2 year old likes it, it's really poorly made. Yes, he's rough with it, but the strings won't stay tuned and tight no matter what we do. Our 3 year old has the First Act guitar and he too is rough with it, but it holds up amazing. Feel like I through money in the trash by getting this guitar.
- There are lots of complaints about this guitar. It's cheap, the components are flimsy, the strings are basically unusable, but here's the thing: there are ways that you can make it a completely functional child's or toy guitar. The tuners have phillips head screws on the back. If they don't stay put, just tighten the screws! If the bridge slips when you replace the strings or de-tune them for any reason, crazy glue it into place! I am going to put some uke strings on it so it sounds goofy and hawaiian. not a guitar i would gig with, but if you are going to pay less than 30 bucks for a musical instrument, than you have to expect that it isn't going to be a beautiful piece of work. with a little modding, it can be more than it is out of the box.

- The book itself it pretty good, but the CD has some flaws. The first track is to tune your guitar. It would have been better to make each string a different track to tune each separately, but instead it gives you three plucks to tune each string from the lowest to the highest note. If you need more time however, you end up starting over, and this can take a very long time to get through! There is no actual instruction on the CD, it must be used with the book as it is just musical accompanyment and demonstration of the chords, no words. It would have been nice if the book came with a pick. The guitar didn't come with one either, so now I have to find a music store to purchase one.
- We purchased this book for my daughter with her guitar. She is a bright girl and had a very hard time understanding it. Even we didn't understand much of it and we have played instruments!I would pass on this book and purchase one from a musical instrument store.
- this book is good, but it is hard for kids to understand.me being only 11 i didn't understand very much. i think u should get a guitar teacher insted.
- I was so disappointed in the fact that the guitar didn't come with any picks or a strap- I didn't realize it when ordering, or I would have ordered that, too. My son had trouble holding it without the strap... when I finally got around to buying those items, I showed the guitar to my brother, who has been playing for 30 years, and he said it didn't stay tuned. once you play a chord, it goes out of tune. I'm not thrilled, to say the least.

- I'm learning guitar on my own right now. This was my first guitar that I've bought myself and I have to say that I'm quite satisfied.
The people that have tried out the guitar have all given compliments about how nice it is.
The intonation is nothing to complain about.
One thing that should be noted is that the action is slightly higher than normal and it takes some getting used to; once you get used to it, it's alright.
And one final note, I purchased this guitar directly from the Musician's Friend website where I got free shipping.
- This is my second Tak, and I am pleased to find that, despite the low price, it has that same Takamine quality to it. I have found none of the problems noted in other comments: I like the pick guard, which is clearly depicted in the catalog photo; the action does not seem all that high for an inexpensive guitar; the strings were in good shape; there were no noticeable finish problems. I bought it for knocking around -- beach, pool parties, etc -- not for serious performance work. This would have been a decent buy at $200 (I paid about $200 for my first guitar in 1977!); at $100 it is a very good bargain. The only criticism I have is that it arrived more than 10 days past the estimated delivery date. That's OK. A guitar this good and inexpensive is worth the wait.
- Although like many of my generation, I had wanted to learn to play guitar as a teenager, but I never realized that dream. Now as an 54 year old, I'm going to give it a try.
So this review will be from the point of view of an inexperinced novice. I was looking for a cheap, um....... inexpensive guitar to learn on, after searching different places for reviews for something that would meet my requirments. I settle upon the Takamine S34C, because of the opinons of many experinced musicans, who said they were impress by the sound and tone of this inexpensive instrument.
Now for my humble review, it seems to have good quailty construction and a nice satin finish. It tunes easily and holds its tune. Intonation seems good. When I'm ready to replace the strings, I'm thinking maybe D'Addario EXP 16 and maybe have the action lowered.
All in all, I'm very happy this guitar and think this not only makes a very good beginner's guitar, but one that might give good use for many years to come.
I ranked it 5-stars for my satisfaction.I don't have any experince to rank it to other $100 guitars, does it garner 5-stars aginst them? I don't know, maybe.
- The first thing I can say is that the guitar is absolutely beautiful. It's well made, sounds amazing, stays in tune well. Basically, you are getting good Takamine quality for the price of a Harmony... and it will last longer. Definitely not your typical "bargain guitar".
My only complaint is that there is that there is only one knob for a neck strap. It's easy enough to fix with a little effort (Or you can just tie the strap to the neck (under the strings of course), but it would really be nice to have that second knob :) Don't let that turn you away from the Jasmine, though. You wont get a better guitar for the price!!
- At first i thought this guitar would be some crap for cheap,, I realized tht i ws wrong after seeing the item physically, Its exactly the guitar what u find for 299.00 dollars. Its in perfect condition,, Brand new without a scratch even. I recommend this one for intermidiate players,,, Do your self a favour an grab one for you before its too late,, 99.00 dollars is definitely worth this baby,,, Rock on fellas,,

- I ordered this guitar for my grandson for Christmas. There is no way to keep the strings tight even though you turn the screws to tighten. When you do tighten, the strings are brittle (as if really old) and break. To get a refund on this item you have to obtain an RMA, pay for return shipping (which will probably be almost as much as the guitar) and they will issue a refund after they receive the guitar back. So I will probably be out about $10.00!!
- It doesn't look as pictured and has a hollow sound, even if it is a beginner childrens guiter.
- My daughter needed a new guitar for Christmas. She doesn't play, just uses it for fun. This was an excellent value for such a use. The case is great too!
- This is some pretty firewood. It does not stay in tune, nor will it play as a real guitar. This is strictly a toy and should not be purchased if you want your child to start learning how to play. I was really dissappointed when I got it out of its box.
- I may just need to buy another guitar. So one can be at their house and one for here. It is a very nice little guitar - better than I expected for the money.

- this guitar is a real instrument. It keeps the tuning for quite some time and sounds pretty good for its size. Even with adult fingers you can play it and our kids love it. Very good value for money and a good first guitar. If your kid loves it it can really be played on, if your kid does not love it, it's not a big financial loss either. So if you are thinking your kid may be interested in playing the guitar this appears to be a good starting point. Very recommendable.
- We bought this guitar for our son for Christmas after reading the positive reviews. It's better than the piece of junk you get from a toy store, but definitely not a real instrument. The strings do not hold tone - our boy still prefers to play with Daddy's guitars. We kept this one just so the little one can bang it on the floor instead of the real guitars. Quite disappointed, I'd have to say!
- I bought this for my kids and I ended up teaching my wife to play the guitar. It is actually an awesome little guitar for beginners and experienced players. Definite winner.
- I shopped around for a low priced classical guitar and bought this one based on reviews. I was not only not dissapointed, I was very surprised with the quality of the instrument. I own three other premium guitars and have played guitar for thirty years. This guitar is a remarkable value at the price. One point to consider is that you will have to tune the guitar several times to allow the nylon strings to stretch enough to remain in tune as you play. This is common with nylon strings. There is nothing wrong with the tuning machines, as another reviewer has suggested.
- Amigo 1/2 Size Classical Guitar for Kids or Children
I was very surprised with the quality of the sound. If you are looking for a small guitar for your young child, this one is a very good bet. A real classical guitar for the price of a toy one.

- I just got this guitar in the mail, and as soon as I pickes the box up, it was very light weight, that was my first sign that something was wrong. Then, when I opened the box there was the guitar, but it was so crappy. The strings are so thin that one of them broke on the first day (and I'm a really careful person), the actual guitar is very thin, and the paint was done very poorly. The head part of the guitar doesn't look anything like the one in the preview, and I cant find where you put hook up the strap on one end. Please I beg of you DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT! It may be inexpensive, but you should save your money for something better!...oh and the frets are messed up too!!!
- I was so pleased with this guitar. It was my first acoustic guitar, but I am glad that I purchased this guitar- it's been slammed into walls, and the wood still looks good. It was easy for me to play, and I plan on buying future guitars from Austin Bazaar. Only one bad thing- I received a red pick.
- I recently decided to learn guitar and thought about teaching myself at home. Bought this guitar through Amazon.com after looking at some decent reviews on it and saw that the price is unbeatable. I like the fact that it is small and lightweight, and that it comes with a set of accessories, but I found it hard to tune. I would play a song that would sound 'right' going up the scale but sound 'off' going down the scale. I decided to take a class a month ago, and last week, my instructor tried to tune my guitar, and he said the guitar has an 'intonation' issue, which means that the guitar just wouldn't tune on chords even if the individual strings are in tune. I suspect there are problems with the frets markings. Overall, since I am pretty tolerant and big on cheap bargains, I would say this item is an okay bargain, and if you are unsure about pursuing guitar but need an instrument to try out, then you may want to get this. I was able to play melody ('Amazing Grace','Star Spangled Banner', etc) just fine. It will probably start giving me issues once I start playing chords. But if you are serious about playing guitar, get a better one, this one is a no go.
- Please do not be tempted by the low price. This is a poor quality guitar and will only lead to fustration for beginniners. When I purchased mine, I immediately noticed the poor paint job, and several nicks and dents along the body. But most importantly the bridge is the incorrect size, which makes the guitar impossible to properly tune, or keep in tune without replacing it. Also, the board it's connected to is held in place with only plastic pegs with no sealing around it, which means it is only a matter of time before it breaks.
I purchased mine thinking it would be a fine learner guitar, but after of few weeks of constantly trying to keep it in tune (Guitar strings should settle after only a couple of days, not weeks) I was so fustrated with it and gave it to my teacher to take a look at it, who pointed out these two important defects.
- I also received a gig bag...since I do not know how to play a guitar yet I will have to wait until I start practicing on the instrument with my tutorials I ordered whenever they get here that is...LOL! Hope I made first beginner guitar choice though. Anyway like I always say,the ladies are gonna be lining up to talk to PeNName with his brand new Crescent 38" Blue Cutaway Acoustic Guitar with Gig Bag and accesories!
