5 comments about Bench Dog 10-001 Table Saw Blade-Loc.
- After using scrap wood blocks, etc., to hold the blade, I got tired of the sudden, random slips of the blade when I was 1/2 inch away from the teeth so I bought this.
With enough pressure, this will grip the blade very well. At first I had problems with the blade slipping while held in the guard, but it's a matter of putting pressure down on the guard while turning the arbor nut. Lots of pressure, in fact.
Though it does not fit dado blades, I still use the ends of it to wedge into the teeth of the dado blade and give me a solid place to push that's safe for the carbide teeth. Chews up the plastic just a little, but it's holding up well.
I'm pretty cheap, so it seemed expensive, but I got one because of all the times I went looking for my wood scrap in the cut pile. You could pretty easily make one of these by raising the blade into a 2x4 enough to create a slot, I guess.
By the way, they do occasionally go on sale at a certain retail home improvement center (rhymes with Bowes) at less than $10. That's where I got mine.
- Makes changing saw blades a breeze instead of a chore. Much better then having to look for throw away lumber pieces when your in a hurry to get blades changed.
-
I prefer keeping my blood inside my body and my money in my wallet!
The Bench Dog Table Saw Blade-Loc guarantees I can do both at the same time.
Other great safety Bench Dog products you might want to check out include the
Push-Loc Offset Push Stick For Table Saws, Router Tables With Docking Station
and the Feather-Loc Single Featherboard for Table Saws & Router Tables.
Using the Blade-Loc I avoid cuts and dings to both me and my expensive saw
blade. I much prefer using the blade aid versus a band aid!
The Bench Dog works great and does exactly what it was meant to do. ~ The Boss
- This works very well for holding the blade when removing it or changing blades.
- Yeah, there are free ways to accomplish the same thing, but they are either a bit dangerous or awkward to do. This is safe and effective and not expensive. Some Bench Dog stuff is over-priced, not this item.

5 comments about PSI TCLPROVS Turncrafter Pro VS Variable Speed Wood Lathe.
- Right out of the box the lathe centers were right on the button... Every thing worked great, it is a little light on instructions for setting up all the electronics, but any one with half a brain can figure it out...
all projects attempted so far finished with minimum effort... Very pleased with the purchase.... Would suggest that the user make some baffles to divert the wood chips from building up on the motor which is located between the bed ways.. small strip of metal or cardboard should take care of this easily.....
- I purchased my PSI Lathe in Dec 2007, found it was damaged during shipping PSI replaced the bend part. But since then they are really weak on support and responding to e-mails, 1st problem motor was stopping and had to turn off for a few minutes to start it back up. 2nd the variable speed is great but don't think it should be speeding up and slowing down while running without touching the dial. Was told to buy new brush's so I did and still have the same problems. I think it is the variable speed unit bad but cannot get PSI to reply to e-mails. I like the Lathe but will not purchased anything else from PSI since I spend over 400.00 dollars buying the extended bed, jaw kit and three set of turning tools with my purchase. Next one will be from some one that will stand behind there product, I'm writing my review after I had time to work with it and do a few turning projects so I could give a good review "not that it worked right out of the box" like others I see, I would hope so work right out of the box.
- I researched many midi-lathes and happy I made the right choice. The unit is everything as advertised. I also bought the PSI chuck system and this has proved to be a necessity. I also like the 3 year warranty.

- Out of the box this lathe worked great! However, the instruction manual leads a lot to be desired. (Actually, it is poorly designed.) The manual assumes the new owner has had experience with wood lathes and wood turning. In my case, none. Prior to receiving the lathe, I viewed several online training videos and did some research, so I was able to manuever through the set up within thirty minutes or so. (There are still some areas I'm not too clear on, but I have friends who have offered to guide me through them.)
In deciding to buy this Turncrafter VS, I spent several hours reviwing the features and benefits of this lathe and also competitive models such as the comparable Jet lathe. The price was the deciding factor for me. The Turncrafter VS was about $100 less than the Jet model. Including shipping, the Amazon price was $227.00. Best deal I could find. E-bay offered it at about the same price, but I decided on Amazon because of customer support if I needed it.
I'm very satisfied with my purchase. I've read some of the "negative" reviews regarding the "finish" of this lather, but I chalked it up to "nit pickin". This is a fine model for beginners. It does what I want it to!
Don, Pineville, NC
- Fantastic lathe. Using it in my personal shop in my basement. Nothing to setting up. Just plug in the cords and start turning. Only about 16" beteen centers without the bed extension. (I have one) That makes it 39" between centers. I turned my first peice and was more than staisfied. I am now building a Heavy stand from ShopNotes Issue no. 10. It fits perfectly. I would like to have a longer rest and may change that. But all in all I got more than I paid for.
You have to change the belt setting for some of the speeds but I have found that the middle speed on the belt gives me a lot of variable speed on the electronic speed control box.
A+ Thanks Amazon! I love shopping online!!! NO GAS NEEDED!!!

5 comments about Custom LeatherCraft 1526 28 Pocket Electrical & Maintenance Tool Pouch.
- This is the best tool bag I've ever carried. The tools don't fall out,the bag sits upright, and it holds a lot of tools. I really like the hidden compartmented plastic box for small items like crimp connectors - sure is handy. I recommend this bag to any maintenance person.
- I have a similar model, pretty much exactly the same but without the tray. If I had known this existed, I would have bought that one instead. The model I own is the only one the local corporate supplier had. What a great bag! I'm an Apprentice Electrician, and this fits everything I need except a pole. Nice smaller pockets for my Flash Drive to hold digital versions of books, study guides, and my Apprentice Hour logs, without fear of being damaged. You can easily reach anything in this bag, except for large items like a composition book (for notes) in the center, because the handle is in the way. I wish you could remove the handle, as I always use the bag with a rolling cart or the shoulder strap instead.
- This is by far the best pouch I have ever purchased. Wore my first one out so purchased another plus two more for others who admired mine. Tired of tools around your waist or can't handle belted pouches anymore? Than this is the pouch for you. Can't beat the price or quality.
- This is a fantastic tool bag. Access your tools easily and it stands up straight when you put it down.
- This is a must have bag. I work in the H.V.A.C. field and this bag works GREAT for me.

2 comments about DEWALT DC725KA Heavy-Duty Cordless 18 Volt Compact Hammer Drill/Driver.
- I had been buying some things by Amazon, and this is my best shopping.
It good that this product has other battery because when anyone is working continue for long time, people doesnt need to stop their work and continue after. All caracteristics that describe in the page its true, add, this drill is compact, perfect caracteristic when you need to work in hard positions.
- I own lots of De Walt tools, but I have noticed a serious drop in their ability to produce a durable cordless drill recently. There is no doubt that De Walt have bright ideas, and their products, on paper, are very impressive, and push the boundaries of what you expect a tool can do for you. I realy like their cordless nailers (I have two!) However, this drill has some serious design flaws.
Be aware that the front torque selector, spindle, gearbox and a weighty Jacobs keyless chuck (I do like Jacobs chucks) are held inside the clamshell by...by... a plastic location ring groove in the clamshell body, that ring grips the gearbox, and which measures no more than 1/16th or 2mm in indent depth. Consequently, let your tool heat up, or use it under torquey conditions and guess what? The entire front housing loosens up. On my drill I can get the chuck housing to move an 1/8th or more (depending on how hot the plastic is) in any direction, yet the clamshell is gripped firmly and doesn't move at all! Other than this inadequet plastic groove the frameless motor had location cut outs in its magnet body to try and stabilise the front end, but since the motor is only held in place by the pressure of the screwbolts holding the clamshell shut this feature is limited in what it can achieve. Maybe i've just got a dudd, but i doubt that this drill issufficiently well engineered for the trade/contractor market, which is a shame. Let's hope De Walt realise and redesign this into a really decent bit of kit that can rival the Japanese blue tools that I will be using from now on for cordless drills.

5 comments about Bosch 1294VSK 2.3 Amp Corner Detail Sander Kit includes Sanding Sheet and Backing Pad Assortment.
- It was rather easy to use but the sand paper did not last very long.. Over all, I would rate this tool a 3 on your scale of 5.
- I bought this sander to use on metal: bronze, copper, silver. I really like it. It works well and feels solidly built. I have never used the extension pads, but they look like they may be useful someday.
- This is a sander that does exactly what it promises to do. It can remove stock at an astonishing rate and reach places that even Heineken can't. I don't know how I would have done some of the refinishing work I have done without it and I probably use it more than I should given the comment below.
The attachments that come with it are critical to its versatility and I use all of them. But, be aware that you have to take good care of them. If you destroy the surface of them so the paper will no longer adhere, replacing them is so expensive you might as well buy another saw. The saw is so good and so powerful, that would be a real waste. My attachments are, unfortunately, in pretty bad shape (I found out too late)but the sander is so great that I will just have to bite the bullet and buy another complete kit since I don't want to try to live without it.
- I'm a professional cabinet maker and I put a lot of hours on the Bosch sander trough out the week. It is a great sander for getting into corners and detail work. This is my second one. My first one lasted about ten years and then stopped. I immediately got a new one. The new one is more powerful , quieter and smoother running.
- This corner detail sander is one of the best tool purchases that I have made. I used to use my hand to sand the corners, and I always felt pain in my finger tips after sanding. With the user of this corner detail sander, I don't have that problem any more. Moreover, I can sand faster and with less effort using this sander than using my hand to sand.
This tool can kick up some dusts if you don't connect it to a shop vac. I am not talking about a lot of dusts -- much much less dusts than those coming from a circular saw or an angle-grinder. Still, connecting it to a shop vac will keep the dusts in the air to the minimum. I use Bosch VAC001 15-ft friction fit hose to connect it to a shop vac, and they work fine together.
We can turn the triangle-shaped sanding pad around. Then we can use all three corners of the triangle-shaped sand paper. This is a necessary feature because most of the wears are at the corner of the sand paper.
Please note that although this sander is relatively low profile, its handle is long. This means you may not be able to use it in very tight space (as in a small shoe rack). In that case, you may want to sand the surface before you assemble the pieces together; then you don't have any corner to sand.
The only downside is that you probably cannot find the right kind of sand papers in your local stores if you finish using the sand papers that come with the kit. Therefore, you may want to order sand paper in advance.

5 comments about FAIP Powerwasher 1/4-Inch by 25-Foot Universal Extension Hose for Pressure Washers #80011.
- This is a pretty cheap product for the price. However, it tended to kink and coil wrong, and at the end fo the day, I felt more like just picking up my unit and moving it around versus dealing with this extension. Much less useful than I would have anticipated.
- I purchased this to go with my FAIP powerwasher. It's a lot of length, so it's bulky on the unit (I never take it off, as far as I'm concerned, it's now a permanent part of the unit). But I just stand the powerwasher up and walk all around to clean gutters or patio furniture. Eventually, just like extension cords, it'll kink. But I've used it for 4 summers and haven't had a problem yet.
- I bought the hose along with the pressure washer and the hose doesn't fit the unit. The manufacturer says they're not compatible. I asked why it's listed on Amazon as "buy together" when I bought my pressure washer. The manufacturer says Amazon did that and they never claimed it would fit. They said they would "allow" me to return the item but I had to pay shipping both ways. Let's see, a $14 item that they already gacked me $9.00 to ship to me and then they want to stick me again for another $9.00 to return it. I think I'll list it for sale on Craigs List.
Face it, They Hosed Me.
- This pressure washer extension hose was recommended to be bought with the pressure washer I purchased. However, it does not work with my pressure washer without an additional part I had to purchase. Hopefully when the part arrives I will be able to use the extension. I feel taken advantage of by Amazon.com for recommending this extension.
- I bought this extension cable to go along with my FAIP PWS1600 powerwasher and it works perfectly. It comes with a brass "barrel" connector that attaches the extension cable to your existing cable. I can leave the powerwasher stationary and cover a lot of ground with all of the cable length I have as I intend to occassionally get up on the roof of my one story ranch and do some low pressure cleaning.
It comes coiled up so you will have to "break it in" by laying it out and unravelling it, but after a few hours of work the first day it was flat and unwieldy.
There may be less expensive cables out there but this one works fine. It mates perfectly with my "FAIP Powerwasher" brand, but you might need additional adapters if you have a different make of pressure washer. All in all for me this was an excellent purchase.

3 comments about Fein 913038K01 3-Pack of Vacuum Bags.
- Using the bag inside the Fein 9-11-55's cannister eliminates two problems at once. First, you no longer have to wear a dust mask when emptying your shop vac because all you have to do is remove the bag, put it in the trash can and insert a new one. Second, your paper filter cartridge will no longer get clogged with dust, an especially knotty problem if you sand a painted surface or do any sanding or cutting of MDF or other engineered wood products, all of which make a fine powder that is hell on vacuum filters.
Go get 'em.
- replacement bags were needed desparately by our son who has a few fein products. loves the ease of replacement and how well they work.

5 comments about DEWALT DC011 Combination Worksite Radio and 7.2-Volt to 18-Volt Pod Style Battery Charger.
- The DC011 is perfect for amplifying my iPod. I'll answer some of the common complaints from other reviews.
* "No CD player": But who wants to deal with CDs on a jobsite anyway? iPod to the AUX input beats messing with scratched CDs, even in overall ownership cost in the long run.
* "Poor radio": But FM stations are lame anyway; who wants to listen to lowbrow advertising and the same 50 songs on repeat? They shouldn't have included a tuner at all. Having said that, it actually pulls in my local public station quite well, even through a concrete building with lots of steel.
* Sound quality: sure, if i listen to the DC011 somewhere quiet, it's muddy and heavy in the lower midrange. But using the DC011 amidst heavy equipment and power tool use, with hearing protectors in my ears, it actually sounds just right. The ideal setting on the iPod equalizer is "treble boost". This helps keep the sound clear over drilling and sawing noise. The bass and mids are loud enough on their own.
I'm not saying the sound quality is superb, but if it sounded any better the quality would be lost on a noisy jobsite anyway.
* Battery functions: think of the DC011 as a charger. Sure it can also power itself off the battery, but I need my batteries to be powering tools and I'm not going to buy an extra $80 battery just for the radio. So I have no sympathy for battery-life issues here. Though I agree they should have added a power-switch relay to fully disconnect the battery when the unit is shut down.
Bottom line: Buy the DC011 if you need a loud and rugged amplifier for your iPod or other portable mp3 player, which also happens to charge your DeWalt batteries. Don't buy it if you want a battery-powered FM Radio (not to mention CD player) for remote locations without power. There are better options in that case.
I'm giving it 4 stars because I would rather see DeWalt skip the radio tuner entirely and put the savings into sound quality.
- I am a professional contractor who lives in a small town in North Dakota. This is my second DeWalt DC011 Radio Charger in a years' time. My first radio worked fine the first couple of months that I had it. (Happened to be wintertime and I was using it in a house under construction with only a space heater for heat at the time. By the time summer rolled around, I found that it was blinking the Hot/Cold Pack Delay signal. I found the pack which had been placed in to be extremely hot, and it wasn't when I put it in. Turned out that this pack was ruined, and I thought it was a fluke. It worked OK far a couple of days. Later the same thing happened to another pack which was only a couple of months old.
Since this unit was still under warranty I returned it to an authorized service center. But they did not work on the electronics there, so it was sent to Minneapolis. They didn't find anything wrong. I got the radio back and tried it. Sure enough after a day or two I had a pack overheat. I sent it in again specifically stating that it overheats the battery packs on occasion. (These are packs that never overheated in the regular charger).
About a month later I received a brand new replacement. I thought my problems might be over, but it was the same thing again. As of this writing I am contacting DeWalt to see if there is any way to rectify this problem, and I only keep a weak pack in the radio. I use the regular charger to charge my batteries.
- Works perfectly... Only down side is the charger is in the back, so if you have it on a shelf you have to pull it down to swap batteries. Great reception and easy to program.
- I finally am able to remove this piece of junk from my truck and replace it with something else. I've been a user of DeWalt and their cordless tools for some time, and generally love their products, but this one is a terrible joke. DeWalt makes fantastic tools; they need to buy these junk radios back and put out a better designed jobsite radio.
- Good quality sound, will run on battery power when unplugged, charges Dewalt cordless tool battery pack when plugged. Didn't come with a battery. It's a must have at the jobsite if you use Dewalt cordless tools.
