5 comments about Black and Decker VP110 VersaPak Gold 3.6-Volt 1.2 Amp Hour NiMH Gold Battery.
- My VersaPak Gold battery arrived fully charged and hasn't lost a milli-amp after driving dozens of screws without being re-charged. It is superior to the nicad battery it replaced and upgrading to NiMH is worth the higher price. I also liked not having to pay for another charger that I didn't need.
- Amazon made this purchase very easy. Direct from Home Depot and BD was difficult.
- I have been using the original VersaPak for years with good results. The 'GOLD' NiMH version is a major improvement due to the higher capacity and lack of memory. The slight cost over the original is well justified.
- description of this item is somewhat lacking since it is not clear what the difference is between the gold and silver batteries. It also is not readily apparent that this item includes just one battery, while the silvers come in pairs.
- hi
i was very happy with the sevice i recived when ordering my batterys.
i am also happy with the performance of the batterys and will order some more in the future

5 comments about CST/Stanley 77-910 TLM100 FatMax Tru-Laser 1/4-Inch at 100 Feet Laser Measurer.
- I am an appraiser and typically wear out 3 to 5 fiberglass tapes a year measuring houses. I had purchased a sonic measuring device which was pathetically unreliable unless you were measuring a short unobstructed inside corner to inside corner. The laser is a huge improvement in that it gives you pinpoint accuracy for measuring point to point, but don't throw your tape away. The laser is great for certain measurments, but not practical for others. the addition/subtraction feature is really handy. Using the tape and laser together priceless. Probably cuts my measuring time down by 30% to 40%.
- The product works as advertised. It is inexpensive and easy to operate and it is very accurate but seriously product designers, would it have killed you to make the sides squared off? The bottom surface and surface opposite the laser side are relatively flat but when the product is placed on either of the narrow sides it aims at an angle. What is the point if it is accurate to 1/8" over 100' if you have to level it with your eyes? If you are off by a few degrees that makes the accuracy more in the neighborhood 2". Call me picky, but I put "perfectionist" in the title for a reason. It would be a five star product if it were brick shaped but the little frilly curves and angles easily knock it down to two for me.
- The first blister packed unit I bought from Home Despot was 3/4" off in 10' which was not as accurate as promised and far too inaccurate for my use. HD was good about replacing it but it took me 5 units (opened and tested at the store) before I found an accurately calibrated unit. Check before you pay! I've been using it pretty regularly for nearly a year now and wouldn't be with out it.
- I bought this for my husband because he measures floors for his job. Before this, he used the regular tape measures and it would break in 6 months or less so we decided to invest in this laser tape measure. He said that it's very accurate, quick and easy to use. It only needs a 1/2 in. of wall space to measure.
- I work in architecture and I often have to take as-built measurements of projects. I borrowed one of these and it was a great compliment to a traditional tape. Ordered my own shortly thereafter. Great for long overall dimensions and to confirm multiple tape readings. Cut my measuring time in half which, in this business, is appreciated time savings.
I highly recommend the product, but would caution against throwing out that old tape measure. This is the right tool for certain tasks - long, straight measurements, but keep the tape handy when the distance is too short or you don't have a clear line of sight. It works exceedingly better than the old sonar kind and the functions are pretty intuitive after a few minutes.

5 comments about Black and Decker WM425 Workmate 425 550 Pound Capacity Portable Work Bench.
- I have used this product for about 15 years. My old one had a small worktop and required the use to two separate latches for setup and takedown. It was so old the rubber feet were gone and the legs didn't work right. My experience with these units has been excellent. It folds up compactly, fits in a small space and doesn't weigh very much. It works well. I like it and have two of the 425s'. In my comparisons with competitive products or other models in the B&D line I would again pick this unit first.
- The package of parts is missing the 2 vise screws, the 2 pins, the 2 pivot nuts. In addition, the instructions are not clear --- I never did even get through this one, the second step (the first step is to empty the carton ): #2 Assemble two top blocks to the underside of the rear jaw by fitting the raised posts on the top blocks into the smaller holes of the rear jaw. Insert bolts through the rear jaw and into top blocks and tighten with supplied wrench. (fig.2)"
It was not clear until I checked back on the Amazon photo which was the "rear jaw". Guessing that it was the largest of the three wooden pieces, I found that the "raised post", the only one to which the bolt screws in, does not fit in the "smaller"- not the smallest - of the five holes.
So, this "workmate" is useless and disappointing.
- This workbench allows the small front part to be moved to a vertical position but actually that also makes the standard horizontal position less stable. I am not sure how the plastic guides that maintain the middle and back panes are going to hold over time. This looks a little bit cheap and would probably not sustain any intensive usage.
I am not sure this is worth the extra cost compared to a Workmate 225.
- First, I must mention that the Workmate I'm writing about is not new -- it is the Workmate 400 model. My wife won it in a contest nearly 25 years ago; when we got married, she gave it to me.
I rate it 5 stars because it is an excellent design. I use it mainly for holding boards when cutting with the circular saw and holding my chopsaw. With the legs splayed out, it is very stable.
The top is particle board held to the metal frame with steel bolts. It has stood up well; I've tossed it in the back of vehicles and hauled it around the yard in the Garden Way cart and it's never given me any problems. It just works.
If the current model is built as well as this model is, I wouldn't have a second thought about replacing it.
- Putting this item together was a daunting task until I finally looked at the picture of the assembly on the packing box and figured it out. It's too bad that the instruction sheet didn't have the same picture. Pounding in the capture pins on the two handles was a bit difficult, but I figured out how to do that too.
It's a fairly heavy duty work bench and folds up flat for ease of storing. I needed such an item and was pleased with it. The price was also reasonable.

5 comments about AO Safety 95191 Replacement Filters for Woodworker's Respirator, 4-Pack.
- See my review of the Respirator. Bottom line I liked the respirator and the filters.
- Lightweight and easy to wear for long sessions working in the shop. Remember to order extra filters to have on hand.
- This is really a review of the mask these filters go in. The mask is very comfortable for long periods of time. Even when letting hang around your neck. Far superior to a cheap white dust mask. My safety glasses do no fog up when I wear this.
- I like this mask, and I like these filters. I wish they were easier to breath through, but other than that, they get the job done. I use the mask when I'm turning wood on my lathe.
- Installed correctly they work like a charm. If you don't put them in right though, they can make it very difficult to breathe. I have severe allergies and purchased these as an alternative to the paper masks. They work great and no sneezing when I mow the yard. That alone makes these a worthy purchase to me.

5 comments about Black and Decker VP135 VersaPak 3.6-Volt 2-Port 3 Hour Stick Style Battery Charger with 2 VP100 Batteries.
- very happy with fast delivery of product as described and at a decent price. what more can you ask for, good product, good service and good price!!!
- These batteries arrived, a couple of years ago in very good shape and in a timely manner..
- Great for replacing my batteries in my scumbuster. I hadn't used it in a year because the battery wouldn't charge anymore. I now realize how much I missed my old friend :)
- I received this product and it appears to charge my batteries, however, one of the lights on the front of the charger does not work, which makes me question whether or not the product is charging. I contacted the manufacturer and I was told that just because the light wasn't on didn't mean it wasn't charging. I am keeping a check on my batteries, if they don't charge, I will contact the manufacturer again.
- These batteries were shipped in a timely manner and were new as advertised. They work fine.

5 comments about Fein 63502134025 2-1/2-Inch Standard E-Cut Blade, 3 Pack.
- These Fein tool blades Cut very precisely for the uses for which they were intended. When cutting into wood near a wall or in tight spaces, it fits but those spaces usually may have nails or other obstructions which will tear up the blades quickly. There are no sawall type bimetal blades for cutting nail embedded wood yet. Can make the job expensive. Taking out an antique wideboard heartwood floor which I needed to put back in the same place, cost me over $600 in blades. Worked great but expensive.
These Fein blades are still under patent but will be coming off in about a year. Then other can creat better blade products at a much more competitive price.
- The Fein Multimaster tool and associated blades are invaluable for those specialized tasks that no other tool really does well, as advertised. I used these blades to custom fit a cabinet for an under-counter fridge where some cuts were necessary that would have been almost impossible with any other tool. Very easy, very tidy.
However, the blades wear out quickly and are very expensive. It is too bad Fein won't make them out of bi-metal, or lower their price point. They are missing a much bigger market out there, in my opinion. Use them when you must, but only when you must.
- I use saws all the time for cuting base moulding for repairs these blades are fast and acurate. Much simpler than a hand saw.
- This oscillating saw is built with the highest quality materials to provide a dependable tool that should last a very long time. It is indespensible for making flush cuts and doing cutouts in wood and other workable materials. The big problem is the blades that are quite costly (about $20. each- from the manufacturer) are not of the same quality materials and dull quite quickly even just working in materials such as pine or plywood. Hopefully at some point in the near future other tool makers will be granted the rights to produce the blades which will not only bring down the price but should improve the quality and maybe some new blade designs.
- The multimaster is the tool for plunge cuts. But the blades are way too expensive. If I can buy an excellent utility 7 inch carbide blade from Freud for $9, and a durable sawzall blades for $3, why must a Fein blade cost $19?
Teeth sheer off on nails.

5 comments about Panasonic EY6432GQKW 15.6-Volt NiMH 1/2-Inch Cordless Drill/Driver Kit.
- Panasonic EY6432GQKW 15.6-Volt NiMH 1/2-Inch Cordless Drill/Driver Kit I really like this driver. It is light and powerful, and I use it on a daily basis. Very happy.

- This is my second Panasonic cordless drill. My first one stood up to 9 years of professional abuse including falls from scaffolding. I am very pleased with the size, weight, power, and features of this tool. I'm very happy with the performance of the NiMH batteries. I would highly recommend this tool to any serious cabinetmaker or woodworker.
- I purchased this drill in August 2007. I've used it periodically on various household repairs and projects. Some demanding, others easy for a 15.6v drill. It is a top-notch performer. However, THIS is what really surprised me: battery life! I charged it once on August 8, 2007. It retained enough charge through all those small jobs that the first time I had to recharge a battery was today, Sept. 20, 2008. The battery held up for over a year! Amazing! I actually had to search my house to find the charger. Recommended.
- Have owned the Pany 15.6 1/2 DD for many years. Bought it shortly after it came on the market and it served well for several years. However, on visiting this site and reading some reviews giving it high praise, I found myself disagreeing. Not that it was not a great tool in its day, but in my tool box it has been replaced by an impact driver. A 14.4 impact driver, in my case a Makita, is just the tool of choice for high torque applications. It is far easier to use and 1.5 lbs lighter. For light duty jobs, the weight and bulk of the Pany works against it. This Pany only sees use on rare occassions now.
For these reasons one needs to consider it in relation today's alternatives.
- we've bought dozens of battery drills, we have had the best luck with the panasonic battery drills. we really abuse them and they hold up well, considering. the absolute worse drill we've ever bought ( 4 of 'em) was the Ridgid 18Volt battery drill.

5 comments about MultiCode 3089 Garage Door Opener or Gate Opener Remote Transmitter.
- Product is fine, but when I bought it I did not know exactly what I needed to replace my current remote. This product is based on a on/off switch for 9 (I think, doing this without the product in front of me) relays. My remote has 10 relays with a 3 way up/down/middle switch. So, this product is not the one I needed. I just didn't know that till I got it. Good product, though. Best price on the web, and quick delivery.
- This was a great purchase. The price was half of what I would have paid locally.
- Received promptly and it works excellently. Couldn't ask for anything better. It was a lot cheaper then paying for one at our condo office.
- The web site described the products in detail. The remote was new and included a battery. It arrived fast and without damage; well pakaged. All in all, great seller. I have used them twice and both experiences were perfect.
- I messed up and ordered the wrong one, but the seller was so helpful in getting me the right one and taking this one back.

5 comments about Milwaukee 48-32-1500 Quik-Lok 38 Piece Hex Shank Drilling and Driving Bit Set.
- This is a nice set to have.It has a good combination of driver bits and drill bits. Nice case to through in the truck and have a little bit of everything.
- This is a very useful item to have and it is a great value. Excellent quality.
- This product has met all of my needs. It has what I need in one sinple bit case. I use this with my RAD attachment from Milwaukee when doing HVAC in close quaters. Most of my tools are Milwaukee because they last longer and are made for the long haul.
- Very nice set, but as other reviewers have stated the drill bits are pretty weak. I have snapped 2 of them off using them in wood. I know that bits break, but this was just a little to soon and in soft material. If your going to buy this for the bits i would look elsewhere, but if your mainly going to use the tips its a great kit to have.
- I have broken most of the drill bits. Often the first time the drill bit was used. The quik-lok will not release one of the driver bits making it useless.
My hobby for the past eight years is woodworking. I try to buy the best tools I can afford so I do not have to replace then a year later. I have a number of other Milwaukee products and have been pleased with the performance and quality. However this bit set is junk.

5 comments about Dremel 3956-02 MultiPro Super 1.15 Amp 5,000 to 35,000 RPM Variable Speed Rotary Tool with 77 Accessories.
- The Dremel arrived promptly and was easy to use. The instructions were clear, and the tool worked as described, no complaints here.
- In my opinion, rotary tools are very useful. I have both the rotozip and the dremel tool. I can't say for the rotozip but I can say for the dremel is that is meant for light duty (Both are made by the same company). I bought this kit but my storage box was a bit different. As with most bosch tools I have found that if they give you a storage box... it barely holds what comes in the box, don't buy anything else for the tool and expect to store it in storage box enclosed. Mine lasted about 5 years but I rarely used it. When I did use it, I typically used it pretty hard. I had it running for about 15-20 minutes cutting off wooden dowels when mine died. I would recommend this tool but be sure to let it cool off and don't use it for long periods at one time. Use the rotozip for the heavy stuff.
- A very useful tool to have. Helps with all kinds of household and hobby needs.
- This is a great product. I highly recommend it. It's very powerful and there are so many different applications for the flex-shaft adapter (which is the main reason I purchased this kit). The price on Amazon.com was great because it was an open box item but this is easily worth about 50% more than the highest price you can buy it for.
The only downside is that you're really only buying the dremel, flex-shaft, and case. There isn't a very wide variety of tasks you can perform with the included accessories. So an additional accessory assortment is a must.
- this is a fantastic tool after i figured out how to use the chuck. easy to use and handel. i needed it to help sand a table i made and cut a metal railing that had a part sticking out, and it's performance was quick and easy.
