  1. An electrician doing some work at my house had this tool and recommended it, so I gave it to myself as a Christmas gift (who better). It is one tool I use all the time. It is extremely versatile as a screwdriver and makes a great drill for SMALL jobs (even though it is not designed as a drill). I love my B&D Versapac screwdrivers, but this beats them by far. This was my first Dewalt tool and I was so happy with it I bought two more as gifts for my brother in law and a lifelong friend. Replacement batteries are a bit expensive, so when the time is right I will probably just buy a whole new set. I highly recommend this tool.

  2. This is the best cordless drill/screwdriver I have ever owned. The construction is top notch, battery life is awesome and durability is second to none!

I have owned several Craftsman drill drivers and of similar capabilities, but their best similar style drill/driver is gutless compared to the torque and battery life of this Dewalt driver.

I also liked the bit lock/release feature of this drill-a feature not found on the Crafstman drivers.

My only wish was that this driver didn't have a built-in work lamp.

You can't go wrong with the purchase of this Dewalt driver.

  3. Don't confuse this cordless screwdriver with the less expensive models on the market. This is an excellent midpoint choice between a hand screwdriver and a drill/driver. It will get the job done.

This is my second one. I bought this one here at Amazon with no shipping charges, cheaper than I could buy just the replacement batteries.

  4. I'd been through 4 less capable cordless drivers from various manufacturers and decided to get this after reading the reviews. I never thought it could be this good. It's made in China like 95% of everything nowadays, but the quality is light years ahead of anything I've had previously.

  5. I have severe arthritis and it is light weight yet tough enough to handle all the tasks I've used it for so far. I really like having the extra battery also!

5 comments about Makita BDF452HW 18-Volt Compact Lithium-Ion Driver Drill Kit.
  1. Presently own 8 dewalt 18 volt drills and hammer drills. Bought this Makita
just to try something different and fell in luv with this drill. Just ordered 2 more for my collection. This tool is super light and the light in front is very helpful. I have a contracting company and for kitchen cabinet work this is a great tool. This is also heavy duty enough for any kinda of work. Waiting for the right angle drill price to come down a little. It's presently almost $ 350.00. There was no picture on the website waiting to see how this drill looks, the dewalt which i have 2 is a little bit bulky.
My goal is to switch to all Makita 18 volt

  2. I have had lots of drills over the years and this one tops them all. It is small and easy to hold, yet powerful. The light is very handy when working in low light area's, which i do alot. It charges very quickly and the case has room for extra bits, etc.
Makita did well when designing this drill.

  3. I've been through quite a lot of cordless drills, I could not seem to find one that would have a decent longevity on the battery as well as good power. I should have known to chose Makita, because they manufacture quality products.
This cordless drill is lightweight (due to battery size), compact, easy to operate and I even like the small light that illuminates the work surface when you start drilling. I have been waiting for awhile for a drill that DID NOT use a NI-CD battery, due to battery memory issues and the short life span of the batteries.

  4. I did a lot of research before I bought this drill/driver. The reduced price and the extra battery (MIR) was also an added incentive. Very good buy. I have used it on many projects in and arond the house.

  5. I researched cordless drills fairly heavily before finally picking this one. This particular model was one of the top rated choices in consumer reports for all purpose cordless drills, and the deciding factor for me was it's bang for the buck ... or more specifically, it's power to weight ratio (courtesy of it's cutting edge lithium-ion battery), and speed of recharging. I'm just a handy homeowner, not a construction worker, so this drill is more than adequate for even my heaviest needs.

The good (in no particular order):

    * LIGHTWEIGHT: As of this writing, this is easily the lightest drill in it's power class - light enough even for my wife to use.

    * TORQUE: This drill has plenty of oompf. On maximum torque, it can not only drive, but countersink fairly deeply, 4" star-point deck screws, without a starter hole ... granted that ya gotta lean on it heavily so the screw head won't strip & the drill won't torque sideways, but it gets it done.

    * CHARGER: At a mere 15 mins, the recharge time is excellent - even with fairly heavy use, by the time you use up one battery, the spare has long since finished recharging. The charging base also has smart charging capability, which is both energy efficient and extends the life of the batter packs (i.e., rather than going through a full charge cycle for batteries that are only minimally depleted, it's able to quickly 'top off', and then switch to 'trickle-charge' mode.

    * ADJUSTABILITY: With 2 speeds, and 17 torque settings, this drill's extremely adaptable. With setting 1 & 2 you can grip the chuck in your bare hand and have the drill quickly and loosen itself, or drive small screws into soft chipboard without stripping. With the heavier settings, you can countersink larger screws into hardwood.

    * LIGHT: The drive light helps see in dimly lit recesses, and navigate in a dark room.

    I only have 2 nits:

    1) The direction change button is too close to the trigger - I find that I'm frequently having to reseat it after my gripping hand jostles it. People with large hands (mine are medium) could have a problem with this minor design flaw. It needs to be relocated.

    2) I'm a diehard buy-American-made-products kinda guy - and this is made in Japan. Oh well. The closest equivalent model (by "Rigid" if I recall) was a full pound heavier ... too heavy for my wife.

    Highly recommended.

  1. These sanding discs are of very high quality and last a long time. Compared to the big box stores and places like Sears, they are priced very fair.

  2. This product is a good value and is what it is. The dustless hook and loop sanding disc system is the only way to go. When combined with a compatible palm sander, such as a DeWalt or Porter Cable, (I have the DeWalt) and a vacuum system it is virtually dustless.

  3. Buy this with your orbital sander and know you have quality disks when you need them.

  4. Will never use another sandpaper, cheap price for sandpaper and a good value. Don't hesitate to use.

  5. I am pleased with these sanding discs. I've always used the Norton brand before, but to buy this many discs would have been much more expensive. They're been holding up well and seem to perform just as well as the Nortons.

  1. As the saying goes, "You get what you pay for", and this tool delivers its function commensurate to its cost. Its capacity to cut two byes is a joy to behold.

  2. When I got the Bosch jigsaw to replace my old Black and Decker. It was the best investment I ever made. The unit itself is heavy but it runs very smoothly and fast. I can't believe how fast it cuts through a 3/4" plywood. I remembered using my old Black and Decker jigsaw (I bought from Home Depot for $49)to cut a hole to fit a kitchen sink. It took me a good 45 mins. If I had this tool, it will only take me less than 5 mins. I alway knew Bosch makes good dishwasher, who knew they make such awesome tools as well. So far, I have use it to cut plywood, pine and mahogany and it works like a champ everytime. This jigsaw is comparable to Dewalt, Makita, and Craftsman. Amazon has the best price, no tax...You won't regret owning this product.

  3. Have used mine extensively on home construction. No complaints - wish I had bought one sooner.

  4. This saw was worth every penny paid. It cuts straight because of the blade holding mechanisim. My old saw would let the blade bend slightly and therefore cut unsquare. It is a very powerful saw and has no trouble with any wood type. This is a dream come true.

  5. This saw is much superior to my old Craftsman that died. It absorbs the cutting vibration, which greatly improves control. The sawdust blower feature is a real plus. Should you buy this saw I recommend you buy the JA1003 saw guide and JA1005 Dust Pick up kit at the same time as they are not included. Another nice accessory is the zero-clearance insert that also functions is an anti-shatter plate. This works quite well in giving a smooth cut, but buy a couple of extras, as the clear plastic insert is only pressure fit into the saw foot and can easily be lost. The only detractor I found was the saw guide could be more robust. However, it has held up so far.

5 comments about Jet JW1044 4-Inch to 2-1/2-Inch Reducer.
  1. I use this almost daily when I swap the dust collector hood next to my lathe for a hose fitting to vacuum up all the chips that went elsewhere. I have a quick connect fitting on the 4" hose to easily swap it from the hood to this reducer. This reducer is such a tight fit that I can barely get it deep enough in the mating fitting to hold. It pops out easily just on the weight of 6' of 2 1/2 in hose.

  2. There seems to be some confusion/frustration about this item so consider if this is the item you actually need. This product is not designed to go directly from a 2 1/2" dust port to a 4" hose. If that is what you want get the Jet JW1000 4-Inch to 2-1/4-Inch OD 2-Inch ID Reducer

2 1/2" dust ports typically have 1/8" thick plastic which creates an interior diameter (ID) of 2 1/4". I own the JW1000 adapter and it fits perfectly into/inside my 4" dust collection hose and into/inside my 2 1/2" port on an oscillating spindle sander. Delta has an equivalent adapter (Delta P/N 50-482) but I do not own it so I can't recommend for or against it.

Consider your application, measure the diameters, and then choose the adapter that fits your need.

  3. If I had known that this was included with the Dust Hood I would not have ordered it. It is now in excess of my requirements.

  4. As another reviewer said..... this is the exact same size as the tool port I have.... it is NOT four inches, but slightly less. If it were exactly four inches, it would have worked.... if it were funnel shaped, it would have worked, but it's the exact same size as my dust port. it will not fit over , or inside my dust port. The industry needs a better explanation for dust port sizes.... This has caused me agravation a few other times on shop vac and other tool dust port sizes.

    Gene

  5. This adapter works great for what it is designed for. It is only for changing 4 inch hose to 2 1/2 hose. Not designed to connect directly to a tool or shop vacuums. Usually the 2 1/2 inch hose will connect to the tool.

  1. Great 18V drill. Has plenty of power and light weight. I have a full size 18V Milwaukee and this drill has the same power but it is half the weight. Battery charges quickly.

  2. Milwaukee has LOST THEIR MINDS AGAIN!!!! Where did they come up with the idea of 2 different slide mounts for the 18v L/I batteries??? I haven't even got this yet and I am returning it!!!!! NEVER buy Milwaukee products with the expectation of customer support!!!!!!!
THESE BATTS WON'T FIT THE SLIDE MOUNT FOR THE 18V NiCad or 3 ah Lith/ION batteries in your existing tools......BE CAREFUL 1st THEY GAVE US THOSE P.O.S. NiCads, THEN THEY MAKE A GOOD 18V L/I AND DOUBLE THEIR PRICE ($113 ea.) THEN THEY SNEAK IN A SIMULAR BATTERY WITH JUST ENOUGH DIFFERENCE IT DOES NOT FIT YOU EXISTING TOOLS!!!!! SHAME ON YOU
    MILWAUKEE!!! ***BUY DEWALT***

  3. another awesome product from milwaukee. i've been doing a pretty extensive remodel on my house for a few weeks now. i can't seem to run the battery down. tons of power that doesn't seem to fade with each new project. switched out the battery for the first time not because i needed to, but felt i owed it to fresh battery lying in wait.

  4. I love this drill. It is light and yet very powerful. I had used a Dewalt drill for 8 years and it was time to replace it. I had check this one out and found it to be compact and yet very powerful.

  5. This drill takes a beating on a daily basis, but never lets me down like my DeWalt used too. I also have a Milwaukee 18v Lok-Tor series hammerdrill /driver and it just sits in its case on my work van anymore. This drill is light, compact and has the power to get things done. On new electrical fit-outs it can run all day on one battery, mainly fastening electrical boxes, MC cable, and conduit to steel studs. This drill has fallen off of ladders, scaffolding, and boom lifts. After all of those falls it still runs strong. My boss has a Rigid compact driver and this will run circles around his.

  1. Great product has survived many drops and is my first choice as the handiest tool in my shop!

  2. The drill is great
    The chuck is garbage
They will drive quite a few 4" screws before they start smoking. Even after they do the seem to keep running. Only one burned out so far.

The problem with all Dewalt 18V is why by the batteries for $120 when you can buy a charger 2 batteries and the drill for the same price.

I walked into HD the other day and the had the Flashlights on sale for $99 with two batteries and a charge so I bought all they had in the store.

  3. if it's as good as my last dewalt I will be pleased. I haven't opened the box yet.

  4. I was afraid of buying this due to the other reviews detailing the chuck wobble. Even though AZ had a great deal i avoided the purchase. I was at the orange home center when I saw a good deal on a package dewalt drill and circular saw. Not realizing that the drill included was the same DC759, I purchased the kit.

I checked the drill out real carefully, looking at the chuck to see if it wobbles. It appeared that it did wobble, yet when I drilled a hole, the hole was perfect.

I have no problems with this drill. It has plenty of power, drills a perfect hole and drives screws effortlessly. It is a little heavy, but I have problem working with it.

Highly recommended.Especially at the price AZ has it for.
If I am not mistaken, Dewalt has a 90-Day Money Back Guarantee, so what do you have to loose?.

  5. I like the Dewalt DC759KA because it is compact, powerful, has a easy to
use chuck and has two batterys.

  1. The two batteries each arrived in original manufacturers sealed plastic and easily charged to full capacity. Less than half the price of local purchase ... if you could find them. Powered new life into my older 14.4 volt tool set.

  2. The purchase of these batteries made my 7 year old tools work like they were brand new the date stamp was current. They were brand new and fresh and not brand new old stock like some people sell. I wish I would have bought a new battery charger too.

  3. I'm really glad that I found this battery pack because you can't find some in stores anymore and the shipping was free and fast delivery.

  4. I bought a DeWalt Model 9116 charger because so many people in the reviews recommended it for this B&D Battery . As Soon as the charger arrived, without any info. or instruction manual , I looked on the Internet for one . There was none there . It was not even listed on the offical DeWalt site . I did find that this charger had been RE-CALLED, due to the risk of a shock hazard . I have received several bad reviews or comments of my review about this charger , most sarccastic ones, but this does not change the fact that I copied and pasted the RE-CALL info. exactly as I found it , in a review I wrote about the DW9116 . This Charger from LOCOMODEM, which cost only 11.95 as compared to some places charging as much as 65 to 80 dollars , on the Internet should have been my warning that this company bought and sold , in bulk form, the old bad and dangerous chargers . How else could you explain the much ,lower price, the lack of a manual, and the packaging in a plain unmarked box ? Anyway, this charger completely ruined the almost new batteries I already had . Anyone not believing me deserves what they get too, if they listen to the reviews and don't look for the RECALL info. or read it in my review of the DeWalt 9116 Charger . I will assume the Battery is OK , since it came only partially charged , after the Charger arrived . I wouldn't risk ruining an almost 32 dollar battery in this piece of junk Charger . I will wait until I can order a B&D charger, made for this battery . If you don't believe my review or the info. I pasted , simply put into Google the phrase " DW9116 Battery Charger Recall" and see for yourself . I have no reason to lie and will leave it to your descretion . I will never make a purchase from any SELLER on Amazon again, and unless it is sold by Amazon I won't even consider purchasing it. I have been screwed by SELLERS on Ebay and now Amazon and will never let it happen again . PS: The chargers were supposed to be repaired and some who liked them may have gotten one of these . I certainly did not , and ruined over 120 dollars worth of batteries for my mistake .

  5. Just what I needed, ordered and received.
Works great. What else can one ask for!

  2. I couldn't handle paying $90 ea for these batteries at lowes so I looked at amazon. I was suprised at the price. When I got them, they were in original packaging and went right to work. These are the real deal.
    Excelent purchase.

  3. These Makita batteries appear to be original. They are exactly as described, fit my drill and driver and store a great charge.

  4. I will be looking at this sellers web page again very fast delivery and decent shipping charges

  1. Excellent Dremel. After owning powered and battery operated ones, this Dremel works best. No cords, long lasting battery. Excellent choice.

  2. I used the Dremel 10.8 V Lithium ion cordless with 420 cutting disk to slot old exhaust connections when the underlying pipe (or muffler) has to be saved. Did a great job! See more at www.stepbystepvolvo.com.

  3. This tool is way more versatile than I originally thought. It is well-balanced and remarkably easy to use. The battery charges quickly. Everything about this tool makes it a must-have. I've always thought it would great to own a Dremel, and with all the add-ons (wire brushes, polishers, cutters, grinders, sanders, etc) I'm sure I'll never rue the day I bought it.

  4. Buy a second battery. You will use this thing a lot. I bought it to file my dogs nails after way that junk advertised on TV. Dremel is the best and used in all industries.

  5. I bought this dremel to trim my dog's nail. I was concerned it might be too powerful but it's perfect on the lowest setting. The noise level is low and doesn't bother my dog. I wish I had purchased it years ago. I've only had a it a few weeks and have already used it for a home project as well.
