  1. This was a great experience and a good deal too! It arrived well packed and on time. I could not have had a better time shopping at a local store! The rule is an Incra, so there is nothing else to say about that!

  2. This was a gift for my husband. He hasn't used it yet but was happy to receive it and I was happy with how quick we received it.

  3. I think grooves in a ruler is a great idea - very accurate. The metal is thinner than I expected, I'm afraid to bend it.

  4. works as advertised, I have worked on several projects now with better accuracy and results. I bought several of the Incra measuring tools.

  5. Incra Marking rule was very easy to use and saves marking time a lot compared to use regular rule to mark on the wood.
Quality of the product also looks fine but I could see some kind of stain like thing on the surface of the rule.
It seems to came from some kind of etching process while engraving the numbers and lines on the rule and it doesn't affect the usability of the product at all.
However, it would be nice if the incra controls the quality of their products more accurately.
    Overeall, very satisfied.

  1. Great clamps that don't mar my projects. They keep glued panels much flatter then my pipe clamps. This set(Bessey KBK2450 Large cabinet Door Kit)is the best value I seen for Bessy clamps

  2. I've tried many types of clamps, and the Bessey are by far the best. I love them, and unless I need more then I have, they are the only clamps I use.

  3. Ive always wanted Besseys but did want to spend the $. A sale on Amazon convinced me and now that I have them, I dont understand how I survived without them.

  4. Bessey clamps are the best clamps you can purchase, but the price does reflect that. Hardly any bending in the bar when stretching distances of 50 inches and TONS of clamping force. They are a bit heavy, but not if you're used to pipe clamps.

  5. My woodworker husband purchases clamps at least once a year from Amazon. He always buys Bessey and has been well served by them. As any woodworker knows, you can never have too many clamps.

4 comments about DEWALT DW260K Heavy-Duty 6.2 Amp Screwdriver Kit.
  1. I had a chance to use this screwdriver this past weekend and found to have plenty of power to put drywall up and to put in deck screws through redwood decking it worked great. the set and forget nosepiece was handy. i can't say enough about this dewalt we own many dewalt and other brand tools and this dewalt does not let us down.

  2. With the built in clutch mechanism, there is no chance of stripping or twisting off the head off a screw. Simply set the depth adjustment, drive the screw, and wait for the clutch to engage. The screw will always be the perfect depth, every time. I was building a deck with someone else using a drill and was able to drive a good 25% more screws in the same amount of time since I didn't have to worry about depth and torque. Be sure and pick this one as it's the only one that comes with a case. You just can't go wrong with a good case -- you'll never loose the other head attachments.

  3. A relative came over to help me install drywall in my basement and brought his Dewalt screw gun. After seeing him run through a box of screws I realized it was pointless for me to try to keep up with my drill and bit attachment. It was more efficient for me to measure and cut pieces and let him take care of the fasteners. I was fascinated at how he would keep the screw gun running with one hand and bring up screws from his apron with the other. Once he got going, his rate was one screw every one-two seconds. Jeff had to leave after a couple of hours but left the Dewalt for me. It was then that I learned the features that allowed for this lightning fast drywall installation.

When the trigger is depressed, the motor runs, but the tip does not turn until it is also pressed against the work surface. The motor runs at much higher RPM's than my drill resulting in the 1-5/8" screws disappearing into the drywall in a blink. The depth adjustment disengages the clutch at your predetermined setting resulting in perfectly placed screws every time. The drywall paper was perfectly dimpled, without breaking, at every screw. I also found that longer 3" screws installed through joists just as quickly and easily.

It turns out Jeff let me keep his "old" Dewalt because he had a few that he uses for work. I can't wait to use it on my upcoming deck project.

  4. OVERALL I AM WELL PLEASED, I INADVERTANTLY KEEP KEEP CHANGING MY DEPTH ADJUSTMENT BY GRIPPING THE END OF THE GUN TO DIRECT THE SCREW TO TIGHT SPOTS.

5 comments about Irwin 14084 Marathon 12-Inch 100 Tooth ATB Thin Kerf Crosscutting Saw Blade with 1-Inch Arbor.
  1. This is simply the best blade I have ever used on my Dewalt miter saw. It cuts through hardwood (maple, cherry) like butter and produces a 320 finish. It's able to take hair thick cut without sliding on the work piece. Ideal for trimming. I just ordered the 80T for my table saw.

  2. When the blade came I mounted it on my Delta compound miter saw and even before I made a cut I noted that the blade wobbled when I took it up to speed. Double checked that there was no problem with the mounting of the blade and still found a noticible wobble. Sent it back to Amazon and replaced it with an 80T Bosch for a few dollars more. That one shows no wobble. I guess there is a reason Irwin blades cost a little less.

  3. Amazon had these blades deeply discounted a while back and I took a chance after reading the one review about the blade being warped. The ones I received were perfect and I gave two of them away to my son and daughter (my 32 year old daughter loves it after installing a bamboo floor in her house). My son is a quality woodworker and appreciated the smooth cuts he gets using the blade.

Extremely smooth cuts for trim and flooring.

  4. The cut quality is near the top with perfection. After many months and jobs it still cuts great. I had to laugh at the guy that said his wobbled. LOL There are defects at every level of product sold in this country. Send it back and try another. There is no need to buy a more expensive blade ever unless you are a pro cabinet maker.

  5. I bought the Irwin Marathon 12" 100T blade in February 2006. I went to use it the first time in September of 2008. When I mounted it on my Porter Cable power mitre, it had a VERY noticeable wobble - I estimate about an 1/8" - I removed it to check that I mounted it properly (no debris on the flange) and remounted it. It still had a major wobble.

Amazon won't accept returns after 30 days. Anyone need a brand new warped blade for cheap $.

5 comments about Milwaukee 6148-6 8.5 Amp 4-1/2-Inch Magnum Sander/Grinder.
  1. I bought this grinder more than a year ago and have used it weekly with periods of daily use. It is an 8.5 amp, 10K rpm single speed machine and one of my favorite tools. I'll admit it. I don't treat it nicely. The guard was set aside the first day I used it. I now generally keep a 5" grinding wheel on it and it does eat them quite voraciously but that's its job. I also have a third party sanding back (from Home Depot) that is nice for finishing metal or roughing wood. I've also used the flap sanding wheels but they are a bit pricey. I like the spindle lock on it because you can reach it with your thumb, thus allowing the replacement of wheels without tools for some people.

The only time that it has ever failed me was my fault for putting it in the vise (by the body). It refused to turn on. When I took the case off to see what was wrong I noticed that I had pinched the cable connecting the brush to the motor and it had jammed the brush. A quick flick and the brush popped back in its place and all has been well since.

I have had it running for as long as 4 hours straight and it just continues to run without complaint. The lock on the switch is plastic and is starting to show a tiny bit of wear but it still works so I'm not complaining. I've ground down hundreds of ugly welds, sharpened a lot of drill bits and chainsaw blades, and cut off a lot of heavy steel bars, bolts etc. I've never stalled it, it has scads of power.

Basically, I've given it a good workout and it is still going strong. Enough said.

  2. I read lots of reviews, but rarely write them. I am a part time remodeler. I have had this grinder for 3 months now. I chose the 8.5 amp model instead of the 12 amp because I do not use a grinder every day. Metal or masonry work daily would require a 12 amp 4 1/2" or bigger. I paid $90 and change for this grinder. Now its even less $. Milwaukee is plenty powerful. When you push in the switch the entire grinder will want to twist-hold on. I have used it to cut off 2" solid steel stock and lots of concrete material. With a husky 4 1/2" metal blade (about $12 at HD-great blade/great price) this grinder can cut through concrete patio blocks almost by itself. This model also has a paddle switch which I find to be safer and more accurate to use. There are generally no brakes on grinders and the paddle switch is helpful for control. For my uses it has worked great. The reason I gave it 4 stars is if I press the switch and turn on the grinder without cutting anything and just let the switch go and the blade rotates to a stop there is a noise in the head that sounds like sloppy bearings or something. I didn't notice it when it was new but it could be nothing. There has been no effect on performance, it works fine-just a concern. I guess time will tell. Excellent performance.

  3. I chose this model because I simply planned to use it to remove rust, bondo and welds from mild steel, not needing the large unwieldy models for masonry work. I also liked the safety paddle switch that prevents accidental turn on.

This product has exceeded my expectations, and performed well in every task I've used it for. It is very powerful (watch out, this tool can injure your wrist) runs cool even with heavy use and functions well as a cutoff tool. With a sanding back, it will handle any orbital sanding duties required.

The wrench supplied for wheel removal is a joy to use and far stronger than needed for the task of changing discs.

The only reason I gave it four stars is the lack of spiral bevel gears like the 6140 model; it deserves five in every other aspect.

  4. I spent a lot of time looking into my grinder purchase. I am not wealthy and can only afford to buy it once.

This is the best I could find in it's class.

  5. This tool is excellent! I've used it for many jobs
where it would have been difficult or impossible to use any other tool. It's most useful
aspect is that you can get into difficult to reach, small spaces, and with an appropriate
thin cut-off wheel which you can buy, saw through anything. I used it to cut 4" cast iron
sewer lines in a confined space underground with no problems. And does the job quickly too!
Also, Milwaukee makes and sells several other models similar to this grinder, and they are all
worth getting, particularly if you want a more professional tool. I'm a home hobbyist,
and the 6148 works great for me. I threw away my hacksaw!

5 comments about All in One Clamp RP 8-Inchx 9-Inch Router Plate.
  1. I ordered this item some time ago, and each time I check the shipping date it goes further and further back. If the item is truly not in stock, to tell people it will ship in 4-6 weeks when you know it will not ship in that time frame; is deceptive and bad business. I find Amazons response to this issue completely unacceptable, and I hope you do too.

  2. I bought the router plate, the wide jaws and the 50" clamp a few months ago, for a particular project requiring lots of dadoes in MDF. The whole system works as advertised, and is well worth the modest cost. A couple of notes--I probably over-tightened the clamp, causing a piece of the cam-lever to break. It hasn't ruined the clamp, but I assume the overall clamping pressure has been diminished. Second, I used a cheap router bit and pushed it so hard that I melted the router plate. That said, I sent a simple email to the manufacturer inquiring about replacement parts (and explaining the problems, even admitting my responsibility), and in less than two hours, the company responded with an offer to replace the parts (no cost). That's customer service.

Great product, and a great company that stands behind its product.

  3. the router and circular saw slide are hard to attach to the saw in particular. both do not slide on the rail with out forcing them which results in a bad cut or rout job. would not buy these again or recommend them to anyone.

  4. First, none of the many pre-drilled holes fit my very common Porter Cable router. Second, although there is a hole for a screw to attach it to the T-track in the clamp, one is not provided. But thirdly and most frustratingly, the slot in the plastic for the clamp's track to go through is too tight so it gets stuck. I twice got my router halfway through the piece and simply could not budge it any farther. I threw the damn thing away, another $20 wasted.

  5. I got this several months ago. With my cordless circular saw, it has been a great convenient, mobile set-up.
