5 comments about Calculated Industries 6130 Scale Master II Advanced Digital Plan Measure with Optional PC Interface.
  1. I like the accuracy of the unit and the custom scales. I have had two of these that the reset button quit working on and one of them has a sticking count button. The count button is at a very uncomfortable location. It really needs to be located closer to the wheel where your finger naturally rests. I use this every day of the week and depend on it very much.

  2. If you do alot of estimating: then this is the product for you. I am currently working on an estimate for a 73,000 S.F. commercial project. For whatever reason the architect doesn't have alot of the wall measurements on the plan. This wasn't a problem, using the scale master saved me hours which basically paid for itself on this plan. Most of my plans have measurements on them, but almost always have some sections that do not have the measurements needed to estimate the project accurately. Speaking of accurate, the scale master is extremely accurate. My next purchase will be the computer interface which should pay for itself in one or two plans.

  3. Have used this product for a few years now. Use it every day so I have ordered 3 in the past 3 years. Nice for the price. Serves me well.

  4. The scale master makes it so easy to do big take-offs. Run this little guy along walls of similar types, piping, sidewalks, borders. It has architects and engineer scales, you can change and lock in the scale on the fly.

The only reason that its a four rather than a five is that the little toggles are kind of rough on the fingertips. This doesn't detract from the usefulness of the product a bit though.

  5. The Scale Master is the best tool out there for estimating measurements. There's a little room for improvement, it can get awkward at times, but it's a heck of a lot faster than a scale.

5 comments about Porter-Cable PIN100 1/2-Inch to 1-Inch 23-Gauge Pin Nailer.
  1. I am very satisfied with this product. I own several Porter Cable tools and have always been content with my choice. I think considering their very competitive price range they offer the best of both worlds in terms of satisfaction and quality. I highly recommend their products.

  2. Product does its job but design could be better. I was disappointed to find that air pressure could not be adjusted at the pin nailer, itself, instead of having to adjust at the compressor. The double trigger safety takes a bit of getting used to; however, this comes, in time

  3. Straight forward, easy to use pin nailer. I have used it quite a bit since purchasing it and everything works as advertised. A week after I bought it, I found it at Home Depot for $10 less than I paid on Amazon. I have no regrets however. Amazon's service was fast and got it to my door in time for my project requiring a pinner.

  4. you can shave the noze of the nailer with a grinder by taking off a 1/32 or even a 1/16. that should set the pins below the surface i've done it with several guns and it works just fine, just adjust the pressure if you have to!!!!!

  5. I have had this nailer since April and has seen a lot of use and I must say this is an excellent nailer. If you think and 18g nailer leaves a small hole you would be amazed that these nails leave next to no visible mark. You truly have to see it to believe it. I have used this nailer for fine trim work on night stands, coffee tables and other furniture with amazing results. It goes through oak, hickory, ash, and brazilan walnut with no problems. I have also used it to put on quarter round with excellent results. I have shot over well 2000 nails with this without a single jam or misfire. This is an excellent nailer at a great price.

5 comments about Bosch TS1002 Table Saw Rear Outfeed Support Extension.
  1. Installs easy, within minutes, great instructions and works as advertised. Well made and sound construction. Liked it so much I purchased the left side extension.

  2. Product was easy to install. Bought side extension also. Love my Bosch saw with stand for quick projects. Saves me from hauling out the Unisaw. Due to being lazy, I'm sad to say my Unisaw is now a tool shelf.

  3. Great addition to an already great contractor table saw! Just wish I could get a Dado guard...

  4. Definitely adds to the usability of the saw. Easy to install. Will work for 80% of your cuts versus setting up a separate outfeed stand. Great accessory for the money.

  5. There is a slight twist to the instructions. If you follow the instructions for the 4000, things won't match up. But when the instructions for the 4100 are followed, every thing lines right up! I did remove the the 2 circlips that limit the closing distance, so as to allow for easier passage though doors. Everything is heavy duty, and I mean HEAVY duty. This is a true piece of Quality German Engineering.

5 comments about Bostitch N66C-1 1-1/4-Inch to 2-1/2-Inch Coil Siding Nailer with Magnesium Housing.
  1. I purchased this tool specifically for fence work on six foot tall by eight foot long stockade fence sections. These were purchased with only one nail into each of the three cross ties in order to allow the fence to parallelogram following the rise or fall in the ground. Once the fence sections were all correctly aligned and bolted to their respective posts, one additional nail is then driven into each cross tie (three nails per board)to help prevent sagging, cupping and more securely tie the individual boards to the cross ties. MY fence is 31 sections (about 250 feet)and driving the final three nails per board, for the entire 250 feet, took only 2.5 hours and I wasn't pushing it. My N66C-1 worked perfectly right out of the box at 100Psi air pressure. The tool loads a nail coil in about 30 seconds. I ordered a box (4200 count) of Bostitch part number C5R80BDG wire coalated nails (1.75" long, 0.80 Dia., ring shank type) when I purchased the tool. Not a single bobble out of the box. It drives nails as fast as you can move from board to board.

  2. I'm a professional carpenter and I bought the Bostitch n66c for most recent house that I'm building. After 20 square i've found that the gun is great. It has on;y miss fired a few times and usually because the coil is almost out. The air exhaust positioning is awsome, the balance great. The downside is that the gun is too light. i found that you have to push extra hard for the nails to seat at the depth that you have the gun adjusted for. My buddy has an older, heavier version of this gun by Bostitch and you really notice the differance. His gun feels like it'll last 10 years on a jobsite, drives the nails completly every shot and is also noticably quieter. I own 5 Bostitch nailers and I don't think that I'll ever buy another. The quality has declined severly over the years despite some good inovations on their products. My finish gun only lasted 3 years of moderate use and my roofing gun isn't even in the same league as my buddy's Max (which has never- really- double shot). If this gun was only $150 I'd expect the way it handled, but for $300, it needs to perform.

  3. Bought this gun to do a Hardi Plank fiber cement job. Gun worked great, went through a box of 3600 2 1/2 inch nails without a problem. Has a nice handle on it to hang on ladder when not in use. I did buy an attachment for the nose of the gun that sets the nail at 1" from top of siding, saving time and eliminating a wrongly placed nail. I blind nailed the siding. The attachment was from Big Sky Adapters.

Very pleased with the gun as I am with my other Bostich nailing guns.

  4. i bought this gun about 2 years ago and I am quite disappointed in it's performance. i am a builder and use it primarily for siding. It will not completely drive nails into anything much harder than cedar or balsa wood!! Forget about driving into Hardie trim or even Miratec. Like a lot of Bostich nailers, it's a piece of junk!

  5. I had some Hardiboard lap siding to install on a customers house and bought this nailer to do the job.It worked excellent. Can't beat it for the price. Other guns I look at were up to $400 so at the price this was a bargain. would reccommend.

5 comments about Dremel 575 Right Angle Attachment.
  1. This should prove to be a first class item. When working in cramped areas this is better then the Flex Shaft since you can get the whole tool in where you need it. Plus the quick installation is so useful.

  2. The attachment is great. I use my Dremel with it on more than off. It makes the job easier.
You can get it for $19.99 at The Home Depot. Call Amazon before you order and they will lower their price.

Before you call, please have the following ready:

The item and model number (identical brand and model number to the one we carry at Amazon.com)
Price (including shipping charges, taxes, gift certificates)
Store name, location, and phone number
Important: Price match must occur before purchase.
Now that you're ready, contact one of our customer service representatives at (800) 358-3096, Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Central Time and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central Time.

  3. I bought this unit to get into a small space in the rear of my engine compartment and it fit the bill. I was drilling out some broken bolts in an exhaust manifold. Using the diamond point tool and the tungsten carbide bit I was able to dimple the bolt enough to use a right angle Ryobi cordless to do the real drilling. Be careful using real drills as the speed is excessive to drill in steel. Cutting using drills in steel requires much slower speeds, and while the Dremel can go slower, it does not develop enough torque at those settings. Be sure to use the collar lock in the attachment and not the spindle lock in the Dremel tool itself or it will break the internal shaft.

I also used it for cutting off the stub of the bolt, and found the right angle attachment allowed me into spaces that the tool would not go otherwise.

All-in-all a good Dremel attachment but with the same limitations of the basic tool. Use for smaller jobs.

  4. I installed this on my 300 series dremel tool. When you remove the collet to install the special adaptor they include, make sure you remove the small metal insert that fits within the collet too. This stumped me for a few minutes as the adaptor would not screw in far enough to get the right angle attachment on. All-in-all I am very happy with this tool.

  5. This product is excellent for extending your dremel and cutting at right angles. I am no longer hit by sparks when cutting off old nails etc.. At first I was skeptical, but no longer. I have used this for several products I have been doing outside. Definately recommended.

  1. I love this product. It lets me sleep more at ease at night with my baby across the hall from me.

  2. This is more a question than a review.
How to change the batteries in this product.Out of 4, 1 did not work for me.I need to change the batteries.I slid open the cover in the front. The batteries are really tight. How to take them apart. It would be helpful if any of you could answer my question.thanks in advance

  3. I've owned this product for 2 years now and have never had a problem with them. They are great to let you know that someone has left the house on the chime setting and give a great piece of mind at night on the alarm setting. Unlike others, mine have never fallen off, in fact I'm worried about how I'm goin to get them off when I move! That's how sturdy they are!!

  4. I really like these, they're a little smaller than I first thought but they are loud enough to do the job I believe. Every once in awhile I open a window and the alarm goes off, scaring the heck out of me but at least I know they're working!

  5. we were really happy with this product it was loud enough to here when the door and widows were opened

  1. There's some slop in the mechanism, which I didn't expect, but it seems to do the job well enough, and it's quite convenient.

  2. Very handy kit, makes it easy to finish a job quickly without having to look for the right bits.

Makita 784874-A Ultralok 15 Piece Drilling and Driving Set

  3. After about 50 screws screwed into the wood, the driver got bend and broken.

  4. The drilling and driving set is well constructed. I dont care the selection of bits and feel it could be more useful if it included a countersink attachment or countersink-equipped drill bits. I also agree that the inner black plastic is quite flimsy.

Still, its a good quality set.

  5. I think everyone should own a ultralok set,! This set is pretty convenient for small jobs, because you don't have to carry around a huge case to every job. It fits allot of bits from My 200 bit set, so if you need to take additional pieces from your bigger set, or swap any pieces in the Makita set with other bits, it comes very handy, both for your drill, and for you,. Buy it and see for your self!

  1. This is one of those tools that you wish you had invented yourself. I've hung several items and it made hanging things easer. It kept my hand out of danger and I like it. This is worth every cent I spent.

  2. These two"holders" protect your fingers from being damaged while trying to hold small nails, brads, staples, screws and the like. You can also use these tools to "reach" spots that your fingers cannot, so starting the above items in tight areas is a much easier procedure... I made a prototype of this tool a few years ago but never got it made; I'm glad these folks did, so I could buy theirs... One improvement would be for the smaller tool to fit inside the larger tool saving some storage space.

  3. Great for holding nails in those hard to get places. Equally as great for using small nails that are hard to get a hold on. Great idea and great product.

5 comments about DeWalt DW9083 18-Volt Flashlight Replacement Bulb, 2 Pack.
  1. The previous reviewer said that these are the same as Sears - they are not! The Sears ones are made by Dorcy and do not have the same shock tolerance as the dewalt bulbs. I know - I was suckered into the Sears bulbs and killed all of them (4) where I normally can go a long time with the Dewalt. They regularly tolerate shocks from the flashlight tipping. The sears ones blow everytime! Maybe I got a bad batch, but Ill never buy the Sears ones again!

  2. Even though these are DeWalt light bulbs, I have successfully used them to replace Ryobi and Sears 18v light bulbs that come in the handheld lights you get in the rechargeable toolkits. If you drop a lamp, the bulb will tend to go (although they take a decent amount of punishment beforehand). I highly recommend keeping a few on hand. They are very bright and can fill a room with light.

  3. got her as advertised could not even get them at Home depot around here but Amazon had it in stock

  4. I purchased these for a Black & Decker 18 Volt flashlight. I accidentally dropped the flashlight onto a hard tile floor and the original bulb broke. These replacement bulbs were a perfect fit! They last a very long time (unless you drop them!!!).

  5. You can buy flashlites with 18 volt bulbs all day long in the area I live in, but not the replacement bulbs. I guess they want to sell another complete flashlite. These bulbs arrived in there blister pack, well packed, no damage. And they work perfectly. Thanks Amazon.

5 comments about Porter-Cable C2002-WK Oil-Free UMC Pancake Compressor w/13-piece Accessory Kit.
  1. The air compressor works perfectly and does all the jobs that I purchased it for. I am very happy with this purchase

  2. This small pancake compressor appeals because it is light weight, well balanced, easy to carry, reasonably quiet, and pumps the tank up to 150 psi. The ease of portability makes it enjoyable to carry about for use from one floor to another. The 150 psi means that the motor and compressor will not have to run as often. There are two air outlets for convenience; the two air pressure gauges are neatly arranged, located, and protected by the design of the cover. And the soft-start motor means that the unit will easily run off normal household circuits. This is a good tool.

  3. This compressor takes the place of a borrowed oil compressor. The borrowed compressor was very heavy and hard to move around so we were shy to buy anything bigger than we absolutely needed. This will power our normal nail guns and keep us in weekend warrior mode. This is very light compared to the other - as a woman and not a lot of arm strength but can move this with one hand easily. The double hookups make it easy to multitask. Not terribly noisy and it charges up quick. The dial adjustments are very easy to use and gauges easy to read. Happy with this purchase!

  4. This is a nice little compressor. Bought "used" and came in good shape from Porter Cable. After break-in worked well.

  5. I purchased this compresssor to replace a large Sears unit that I had for 20 years. It works well and does everything I need it to do. The only down side is that it is very loud and takes quite a while to get up to shut off pressure. I use it for inflating toys, keeping up pressure on my car tires and some air tools. I wouldn't recommend it for anything that requires a lot of CFM such as board sanders or spray painters.
