   Otherwise, if you need solid advice how to go about building your additional outdoor space, look for something else.

1. If you dream your swimming pool as a mediterranean paradise, well, this is the book to look for. Exquisite pictures expose exotic pools accompanied by dramatic views on mediterranean coasts. The author provides brief explanations on materials, landscapes and, best of all, square footage, which I find very helpful. I personally was hoping for tropical themes and landscapes, and even "smaller" pools in "smaller" patios/backyards. So, most of the scenes exposed in this book do not apply to my particular situation. However, if I was to mimic a mediterranean look for my pool or patio, I'd find this book quite inspirational.

2. This book was full of wonderful scenery but it was not helpful in providing ideas about how to landscape an exsisting site. This was more an armchair travel book, not helpful in designing our own space.

1. This is a fanyastic swimsuit. Fit and material are perfect. I swim, and need a real suit, not pretty girl. This fits the bill.

1. I bought the book as an aid to planning my own pool. Although the book is beautifully photographed and composed, there is very little to help the average homeowner. The pools are all vey exotic, probably European and definitely in estate settings. The book description mentioned hundreds of pools; there are only a few dozen and the few drawings are too small to be useful. Yes, POOLS is a beautiful book but only for the coffee table.

1. I was looking for design ideas/plans. This one has nice ideas but it is a book in which you can then proceed to order plans. Not what I was looking for. I was looking for ideas, measurements, planning etc..that sort of thing. If that is what you are looking for this book would not be the right fit for you.

3. The book is nice but didn't have what we needed. We are looking for a plan for a corner pool house big enough to accomodate a billiard table and there is nothing like that in the book. Also, the exteriors are mostly too contemporary, nothing that would blend with our brick Georgian home. In a word, DISSAPOINTED. Had I seen the book at a bookstore, I would not have bought it.



4. I will be returning this book. As a licensed professional landscape architect, I find the proportions and design qualities lacking in most of the proposed designs. The designs depict what I would expect to buy from a mass merchandising home center, not such a highly acclaimed book. I was very disappointed. Content aside, the book was nice. I believe actual photographs might have helped tremendously.



5. This book was a total rip off! The title does not lend way to the contents. It had nothing I was looking for. It was poorly bound and it fell apart at the spine the 2nd day I had it!!! Huge Waste Of Money!!!

1. Though the word "sunrooms" is included in the title, there are fewer than five sunrooms featured in this book.
   
   Most of the featured houses would cost $3-5million if purchased in California. The porch on the front cover is illustrative of the porches featured inside. If you can't afford the house that goes with that porch, you won't be able to afford the porches on the interior either.
   
   This complaint is no small matter--the issues that arise in trying to make the most of limited space with a limited budget are different from the issues faced by a multi-millionaire designing a dream house with a dream view.
   
   The self-congratulatory text concludes, "You've seen spectacular examples of porch design and been directed to the details that set them apart. Along the way, you've witnessed what is possible no matter the circumstances, regardless of the size of a house." I disagree.
