  1. It is hard not to go to a multi-adapter for dust collection every so often. Simply cut off what you don't need and this solves the problem.

I have used these on large machines and small hand sanders.

Buy a couple of these to get that dust at the source and you will breathe easeir and spend less time cleaning up the shop.

  2. The product is just a simple rubber step adapter about 4" long. Fits in the palm of your hand. The price is an unbelievable $16.71!! For comparison, I also just received two Fein rubber step adapters, each also about 4" long for $5.24 each. The Fein and PC products are almost identical except for the slight differences in diameters they were made for.

  3. Step adapter allows user to find the correct diameter connection to adapte up or down to, works great and stays connected. I used it to connect larger diameter shop vacuum hose to my Porter Cable belt sander.

  4. This Adapter is 3 times more expensive than the Fein however a significant difference is the large end is threaded to directly screw on to a bare hose. The Fein adapter is a multi stepped adapter which is pushed on to your normal hose end and allows connection to smaller or perhaps larger vacuum ports on tools.

For the money I prefer this adapter especally for tools on which the addition of an intermediate piece ends up making the hose connection unwieldy on the job. At the cost of labor per hour, I don't need to hinder the work to save $11 dollars on the purchase. (I purchased on of each to see what the difference is.)

  1. Background - I own a sewer and water excavating company that gets into some building and concrete work as well so we have a lot of experience with corded/cordless tools of many brands. Hilti, Bosch, Dewalt, Makita.

After owning several Milwaukee drills including the previous V18 hammerdrill, 14.4v drill, and M12 compact driver this drill takes it all. This is just a initial review of my thoughts, its only been in the shop now for a week. It seems more akin to a corded drill than a cordless. I had a bit catch in some steel in first gear and the drill just about took my arm with it. The V18 could do a similar feat. Its overall feel is very good. It fits well, balanced well, fine and responsive and of course, incredible power. Its comparable in weight and size to the compact 14.4v milwaukee drill which has served me well reliably here and overseas.

I would give it an overwhelming 5 stars if not for the strange handlebar accessory that mounts using two jaws instead of a band like most others that squeezes around the gearcase. The handlebar in my experience never gets used anyways. It has the ability to have a belt hook and bit holder mounted by the battery at the bottom of the grip like the compact M18 driver/drill (2601-22), there is a mounting space and screw hole for them. But it doesn't come with it. Why after this price tag they didn't include them eludes me.

Its case is rugged with some softer black rubber for grip and fall protection. The batteries and charger also have rubber corners on them. The light is a nice feature but is essentially standard on new tools. The new style battery is smaller than the V18 and slides on and off better than the V18 battery. If you want an around the house drill get the compact 2601-22 but if you need something on the professional scale this drill is a no-brainer. Milwaukee is discontinuing their V18 line and this M18 is the future along with several new tools in the plans including a grinder and jigsaw this winter.

  1. I recently purchased this item in hope that it would look just like a new product. But to my amazement the saw was not 'reconditioned' as the description indicated my saw had many deep scratches and dings on it so I am very disappointed. And will never by another 'reconditioned' product again.

  2. The construction feels strong and sturdy. On a known-good battery (performs well with other tools, such as the cordless drill) it lasts long enough to pass through through two 7" diameter maple branches or about 6-8 4" diameter deadwood (species uncertain, a hardwood of some sort) when using a pruning blade. If you want to do any pruning with it, make sure to have plenty of batteries handy. Also, I don't care for the safety, it is too high for me to easily trigger while holding the tool appropriately with both hands in an awkward spot.

  1. Once again Roto-Zip has come up with another great attachment.I have always liked the idea how one tool can take on many jobs around the house.I was going to buy a grinder and a diamond blade(for cutting tile)at the hardware store, then I had seen Roto-Zip had a diamond blade.I had the Roto-Zip so I had to give it a shot.It cuts great and it saved me money.

  2. I have one of the older (original) RotoZip tools with the ZipMate attachment and bought this blade specifically for the purpose of cleanly cutting off the excess edges of several thick, super-hard and smooth-finish floor tiles. This was one of those nuisance jobs that left little wiggle room and had to be done -- one way or the other. The tiles were already firmly in place and not removable. Also, the resulting cut tile edges had to be straight and smooth. I was concerned about binding, chipping and fracturing but to my surprise, this gem of a dry-cut blade sliced through the tiles cleanly and effortlessly, albeit with a lot of tile dust flying up and about everywhere. I don't know about heavy duty or prolonged use, but for the specific task I had at hand, it performed flawlessly AND was well worth the cost -- even if I don't get to use it again. Remember that you absolutely must wear your full safety goggles -- not just glasses!!! -- and a respirator mask when using a dry cutting blade like this one! The dust particles are small but rock hard and fly up and all about under the force of the blade. Also, go slowly as you cut so that the blade gets a chance to cut cleanly. I found that if you try to push it along, it tends to want to skip backwards and out of the line of cut.

  3. I work for a paleontology lab that preps on dinosaurs. The rotozip blade cuts through the toughest concretions on the bones. I have several rotozips and use these exclusively. The only draw back is the dust.

  4. The blade functions well but just a word of caution, observe the recommend blade speed. I burned one up quickly cutting at 30K RPM when the recommended blade speed was 15K. Be sure and check the compatibility of your RotoZip model to the recommended blade speed. My main use for this blade is flush cutting baseboard and molding for tile installations which works well.

  5. I tiled a bathroom yesterday which used a combination of 4" and 1" tiles. I used a Rotozip RZ20 with this blade for all of the tile cutting including rough curves. It cut quickly but with a lot of dust (wear a breather when cutting indoors). I found that running the saw at 20,000rpm's sped cutting up a bit.
