4. Whassup with the 1-2-3 - star reviews? I value other user's views, but for me I have to give this item 5 stars. The line is strong, it's EASY to pop in and out, and I'm finishing my 2nd spool now. I never had the spool or the line break although I fully expected it to based on my experiences with the little Toro's in the past that I've used. I live in the mountains and I give the Worx a real workout. It worx for me!



5. Before I purchased this spare spool, I read several horror stories about how quickly it ran out. Fortunately I also read a review that flatly stated that if the directions are followed, its life was more than adequate. I got about 8 hours use out of my original spool...thats about 4 trips around my yard and sidewalks. Sure beats anything I've ever purchased at a big box store!

1. I love this thing! The last time I had an edger it was the size of a small snowblower. This thing takes up very little space and clips right in to my modular trimmer. I was skeptical that this would work, but after using it for the first time I found that it could cut right through my lawn that had grown over onto the sidewalk. Now I have a nice straight edge along my lawn from a trimmer attachment that takes up very little space when not in use. Highly recommended.



2. I bought this edger based on the other reviews I read on Amazon. I had intended to purchase the Expand-it brand, but the reviews convinced me to go with Poulan. Glad I did. It works great. Could not be more satisfied.



3. Works as advertised...Well worth the $48.00...No need here for the more expensive self contained edgers...This worked just fine for me using my Ryobi weed eater...



4. Had used a string trimmer to do edging for years, but wanted to make those edged lines straighter, more professional looking. This really does the trick! Takes some getting used to, you have to get the cutting angle right, but boy does it do a good job! Very easy to use, though heavy (but it has to be to do its work). Well constructed; the gearbox gives off a substantial, smooth feel to the edging operation. Had looked at several other edging attachments but became convinced this unit would work best all-in-all and haven't been a bit disappointed.



5. This is one of the handiest little tools I've ever owned. Sets up fast, & does a wonderful job. Can't get a better edger, for the price!

5 comments about Hound Dog Products Turf Hound Aerator #HDP3-8.

1. My Turf Hound Aerator was purchased in Feb. 2008. I waited until after the rainy season to aerate my lawns in April and May. Very easy to use: grab the top handle and step on the bottom crossbar to punch holes in the lawn (with the two sharpened tubes on the bottom). That facilitates air, water, and fertilizer to reach the root systems for greener lawns.
   
   Some things I've noticed (as have others):
   
   Works best in semi-moist soil. Too dry and cutting becomes difficult; too wet and the soil plugs get stuck and don't come out the top of the tubes.
   
   Try to step in the middle of the crossbar so the cutting tubes are perpendicular to the ground for even holes, less bending of the sharpened ends of the tubes, and less clogging.
   
   When the sharpened ends of the tubes get bent, the soil plugs don't come out. Simple solution: don't try to pry out the stuck plugs with a screw driver, that may roughen the inside of the tubes or bend the cutting edges. Rinsing with water doesn't push out the stuck plugs either. Rather, go to a patch of lawn with slightly moist soil, step a few times and the moist plugs are pushed out. Now turn the aerator over and tap on the crossbar with a rubber mallet to get the remaining soil plugs out.
   
   When the sharpened ends do get bent from tough soil/grass/rocks, I use an 10" old steel tubing just slightly smaller in diameter than the cutting tubes and tap it through the top with a rubber mallet. That straightens out the bent edges somewhat uniformly.
   
   The Turf Hound Aerator does have a lifetime exchange guarantee so one can get a replacement at the cost of shipping it back to the manufacturer.
   
   One last note: I DON'T leave the extruded soil plugs in my front lawns because they resemble dog doodoo and some thoughtless neighbors may mistake them as an invitation to use my front lawns as a pet porta-potty.

2. Does what it does well, but it is a labor intensive tool and other, more expensive, solutions exist.



3. I found the Hound Dog easy to use. It is easiest to use when the ground is moist. We have a large yard so I did a small section each morning until the entire yard was aerated. We started to notice improvements in our lawn's appearance within a few weeks. I would definitely recommend this product.



4. I was worried because we live in the desert and I was affraid that the soil would be too hard. This really works! We don't have much lawn, so this is perfect. It was easy to use, and the plugs all pop out of the top. My kids love it. It's sturdy and I'm so glad I got it, I'd buy one again!



5. Worked for about three "pushes" then one side plugged up. After cleaning out the plugged side it will slightly work another couple times. I measured and found that the entrance diameter of one of the holes is smaller than the other side. I hope that mine doesn't work simply for this reason and not because the product sucks in general. It would also be nice if there were four tubes in stead of two but Im sure that might not be practical. Either way, I'll find myself a small electric aerator rather than take my chances with another one of these.

1. Very handy when pruning and weeding. Don't have to lug a large and heavy trash container. Stores easily in a small space. However, the bottom is easily cut by small branches. I have already used duct tape to repair after less than a month.



2. I had been looking all over for this product after seeing it on HGTV. Have not used as of yet but feel it will make yard clean up a lot easier. Nice and compact for easy storage.

4. This product is sturdy, lightweight and durable. I drag it around with me when I'm in the garden deadheading my flowers and trimming my shrubs. My husband uses it when he cuts the grass. We put a large refuse paper bag in it and it's ready to go. The handles make it easy for me to pull it around. The last one I had lasted for about 5 or 6 years until the bottom wore out. It may have lasted longer, but sometimes I pull it around on the cement. I looked for something with wheels on the bottom, but I could not find a lightweight, sturdy container that compared in price and ease of handling. The materials are good quality and it's a great container for the price.

5 comments about Flowtron MA-1000-6 Octenol Mosquito Attractant Cartridges (6-Pack).

1. Can be placed in any type of mosquito killer or catcher. Just place anywhere that the air flows around it. This is the best buy with Amazon free shipping. (Other suppliers will charge shipping for each small package. It adds up.)
   
   This may be smaller than your original cartridges. However, no matter how big a cartridge is, it can not last much longer. It is better to buy the cheapest cartridge and replace it more often. And Flowtron is a name brand, not some unknown manufacturer.
   
   I keep 2 of these cartridges in each mosquito trap, as follows. Twice a month, the oldest cartridge is thrown out, the other is moved to the back, and a new one is placed in the front. In my experience, Octenol may be more significant for catching the mosquitos than CO2, LED lights, UV lights, etc.
   
   NOTE: please hold your breath from the moment you open the package--place your mosquito trap away from where you sit or work--use gloves or be very careful not to touch the chemically infused areas. I doubt that anyone knows the long term risks of octenol. The smell is noticably noxious, sort of like moth balls, and labeled as dangerous.



2. We live on 1/2 acre w/2 pools behind our house, so I purched the Flowtron Octenol Mosquito Attractant Cartridges for the Flowtron 80-Watt. This unit has performed wonderfully! Our family was tired of spraying w/a mosquito repellent just to go outside even for a brief moment w/out being swarmed by mosquitos so this was just what we needed. Best purchase for some relief. Higly Remommended!!



3. This can get pretty expensive during the summer. You will go through one cartridge per week, so stock up if on sale.

I would recomend these products to anyone .



5. The Flowtron lamp doesn't work at all to get rid of the mosquitoes without these cartridges.

   Just make sure that you paste it so that the holes on the cartridge are exposed because my boyfriend did it the other way around and couldn't figure out why it didn't work until I got a closer look at it!

1. Order was received in a very timely manner. Product appears to be very sturdy for use for a long time. It is very easy to retrieve garden hose with the Rapid Reel.



2. Forget all of the other reels. This is by far the best hose reel you will ever own. Everything else is just crap!! It has excellent construction. Most of the construction is all metal or some derivative of metal. Most importantly, the fittings are not plastic (which eventually leak). Splurge the few extra bucks and get the best.



3. Why would anyone have one of those cheap plastic hose reels when they could have this? I put it together myself, in about 15 minutes, with no difficulty. This is quite sturdy, holds the hose neatly and since it is mounted to the wall - no tipping over when I pull some hose off of it! Our small yard looks so tidy now that the hose isn't lying in a jumble on the ground. I definitely recommend this!



4. I was tired of replacing my hose reels every year, so I finally bought a high quality reel. I am confident this hose reel will last for well over 10 years (the length of its guarantee). On the downside, the reel is very basic in design. It does not have a guide to keep the hose neatly spooled as you wind it in. Nor does it have a fancy housing to disguise the hose or blend into the environment. However, its basic design makes it bulletproof.



5. First class product. Well constructed and performs as advertised. A little pricey but over the years, we've probably wasted twice the money on inferior products. We have since ordered two more...

5 comments about LR Nelson Raintrain Traveling Sprinkler #1865.

1. Sprinkler is workng well so far. It does exactly what it is supposed to do. I like the fact that you can adjust how fast it goes (2 speeds) and how far the sprinkler sprays.



2. This is a great sprinkler! It works great for us and covers a lot of area without coninually moving hoses. You can just lay the hose out and watch this little tractor proceed to water the yard. The auto stop allows you to set where you want the watering to end. The Raintrain is heavy and well built and can handle all different types of terrain. Highly recommended.



3. This product is great!! You don't have to worry about watering your lawn this does it for you. It seems to stay on track and stops when it needs to.



4. Set the path correctly. Set a timer at the hose and forget about it. Works very efficiently.



5. My traveling sprinkler is not a rain train, but is very similar, including in its faults. It covers large areas very nicely and evenly, but fails to stop of make turns very well. I have found some work arounds that help.
   
   For making turns, I put hose guides into the ground (3 for a 90 degree turn). These are the inexpensive hose guides that have a stake on the bottom and a reel on top. They catch the hose and keep it pulling strait behind the sprinkler so it doesn't topple. Space them evenly through a wide turn, at the same level as the hose.
   
   For stopping I tossed the stoppers that came with the sprinkler. They don't stop it and more oven derail it. Instead I use a water timer. Also cheap, it does a much better job of stopping the traveling sprinkler, (with a little practice.)
   
   With these work arounds, my sprinkler is a very useful tool.

1. What a great little tool! I am completely satisfied. Has saved a lot of time and effort, and I expect it to last a long time.



2. This tiller really gets after it! Starts easy and works great. Not quite as easy to use as it looks on TV, but still beats the heck out of a hand shovel! All I can say is "hold on"! I'm pleased!



3. I am getting ready to purchase a second mantis. I abused my first one for 7 years and it smiled and kept on going. No complaints!



4. Mantis makes a high quality product, and it works as advertised.
   It also starts very easily.



5. Purchased to do dethatching and aerating. This 2-cycle is working as hoped and the lawn is now dethatched and aerating is started (3/4 acre). The only problem I found is that using it more than an hour causing the arms to tingle - indicating some nerve issue. I now need to slow down and do no more than an hour at a time then rest. I expect to be using this routinely for dethaching, aerating, tilling, edging and cultivating.
   
   The best part it is better to purchase through Amazon than the manufacturer.

1. Easy to replace...The price was right..and the shipping was great (it was hear before I knew it). Easier to replace than sharpen.



2. Could not find this blade in retail. It is exactly what I wanted and needed. It was easy to identify and easier to acquire!!!



3. This is a perfect match for the OEM blade that came with my Black & Decker electric lawn mower #MM850. Super quick and easy to install following the included instructions. Noticeable improvement in cutting performance, but then again I hadn't changed/sharpened my blade in 4 years (I have a smallish front/back yard).



4. We thought that the lawn mower needed to be replaced, but the blade was just dull, dull, dull! After replacing the blade, the mower powered through the grass.
