5 comments about Black & Decker 100 Watt Laptop Power To Go Cordless AC/USB Power Supply #CPI100B.
- I use this to charge my laptops once in a while. I can run my Compaq Presario V2000 for about an hour before the internal battery kicks in. I can run my Asus eee pc for slightly longer than that. I got that result on the bigger laptop about a year ago when I first bought this battery. I got the Asus result a few months ago. The battery gets hot if I charge it too long, and the transformer gets REALLY hot. It's possible that I lost some battery life just because I charged it overnight once.
As far as a 2nd laptop battery goes, this is fine. It's a lot cheaper than other "real" laptop batteries. I have a regular universal laptop battery, and that one doesn't last much longer than this one, and it cost twice as much. The price for this battery has gone down since I bought mine.
The nicest thing about this is that you can plug in a regular 3-prong plug. You don't need to buy extra tips. It is certainly strong enough to charge a cell phone or MP3 player, though I don't know how many charges you can get out of it.
Don't get your expectations up too high. You're not going to get 9 hours of extra laptop usage. But if you want to play with your laptop on a cross country flight, it'll work for you.
- Nice product - Very useful for powering USB Based charging devices while traveling. Also for powering 110 V AC Devices. But not for longer charging time for Laptop.
- Looking that the three versions of this 10W, 20W, 100W, I found the technical details on the B+D site helpful:
The 10W has a 700mAh battery, the 20W has a 2Ah battery, and this Model # CPI100B the 100W a 4Ah battery. It looks like they are progressively heavier, but I can't find accurate figures on weight or dimensions.
Note that the tech specs imply that the 100W model has two USB ports as compared to the single USB port in the lower models.
Input - 9.6 VDC, 15A
Output - 115V AC 60Hz-100W for 5 minutes, 80W continuous
Battery - 4Ah, NiMH
USB - 5V DC (350 mA) each x 2
- *Approximate talk time based on average results using commonly used cell phones. Results may vary depending on features/cell phone used
- As others have noted, this isn't necessarily meant to power your laptop. It can, if it doesn't drain more than 100 watts (80 watts continuous). I get an extra 45 - 60 mins out of it on my laptop. It is, however, great for charging cell phones, mp3 players, etc. I already have a smaller model that I use for that purpose. I'm actually using this thing to power an aerator in a bucket of water, to keep the fishing bait alive. Works all day without a problem. My father was complaining about only getting an electric, non-battery powered aerator, and I suggested we try this B&D battery. Works like a charm!
In a nutshell, this can be used with a laptop in a pinch. It works much better with lower drain devices, however. If you battery just died, and you need to get a document off of it ASAP, this little device may save the day. Need an extra 4+ hours of battery life on your laptop? This probably is NOT for you. Get a spare laptop battery that is made for your computer.
- charges ipods cell phones and the like no problem. I would never try to run a laptop or electrical appliance of off it.

5 comments about Toro 1800 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Curve Snow Thrower #38025.
- If you are interested in this snow thower my recommedation is you purchase it from a local dealer. That way if anything goes wrong you can easily return it for exchange or repair. My snow thrower did not work out of the box. I called Toro but the only assistance they provided was a phone number to a local dealer. I then had to make an appointment to have the snow thrower looked at. The Toro dealer told me if I had purchased the Toro from him he would have just exchanged it for another one in his stock. As I bought it from Amazon the best he would do is repair it. Two 1/2 weeks later he called to tell me it was ready. The repair was $66.00, the drive had to be replaced. The good news is I filled out the on-line registration so Toro covered the cost under warranty. The Toro is now in working condition and it has exceeded my expectations. It's a great snow thrower that handles 3, 4 even 6 inches of snow easily. Make sure you fill out the warranty registration. It provides 2 years of full warranty. Also, check out snow blower dealers in your area. Make certain you can have the blower repaired if needed.
- I live in Buffalo, NY so you know we get a good amount of snow. This thing doesn't have quite as much power as its gasoline powered friends but it has a lot of other little advantages.
First off, this unit is super light, I can pick it up with one hand and use it to clear off the steps.
Stopping the unit to pick up a branch or mover it to a new location is a breeze, just let the handle go and its off. Give it a squeeze and its back to work.
There is no oil to change, to spark plugs to replace, no cord to yank.
For that really thick sludge at the end of the driveway, this unit will slide up above the slop, shaving off a few inches so you can get through it in a few passes.
The only trick to this snow thrower is planning out your route on the driveway so you don't get tripped up on the cord.
I would have liked to have a heavier duty handle bars and wheels. They work fine but give the whole thing a cheap feel.
- I lived in the snow belt of northern Indiana when I got this snow blower. It was everything I needed for 50' of driveway and several side walks. I had the father of a good friend die shoveling snow when my friends father was younger than I am now. I looked at a snow blower as health insurance. The machine is light and can be easily lifted onto stairs. I carried it across the street to an older couples driveway which was blocked with 3' of packed snow from the plow clearing an intersection. It took several passes to clear. I figure the Toro moved about a ton of snow in a lot less than an hour. None of ears were not ringing from the motor noise. When I was done I could hang the Toro up out of the way. My Toro had become a public health program.
- Thanks for the info everyone. I will not likely purchase this product because many of you are saying the exact same thing. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!
- I live in South Bend, IN, near the Great Lakes. We get lake-effect snow. (Lots!) I have a smaller, one lane driveway which I couldn't justify spending hundreds on a gas powered snow blower. However, when we get over 12" of snow a few times a year, shoveling gets really old. When the snowplow buries our driveway a few times a night, shoveling is madness.
After reading the reviews, seeing the video demo, and find a great after-season deal on this I took the plunge. Works really well! A job that would easily take 1 hour can be done in 15 minutes.
Many of my neighbors asked about it. I point them here!

- Product arrived as ordered. It fits on the Weed Eater C-Max Cordless 24 Volt Cordless Line Trimmer/Edger (WLT24).
- Put this item on my cordless black and decker, noticed a review that said it fit the B/D model also, so i gave it a try. works fine.
- I bought my 24 volt weedeater/edger 1 year ago from sears. the button on the spool broke off pretty quick. I did find that wallmart carries it for around $4 part number WRS24. This weedeater/edger is now called the C-MAX WLT24 Line Trimmer/egder. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.gsp?product_id=3380300

5 comments about Poulan Pro Edger Attachment for Trimmers #PP1000E.
- This item works great! I used a corded trimmer that would take me about two hours to complete my front yard. After I bought this product it took me 30 min Wish I bought this first.
- I love this thing! The last time I had an edger it was the size of a small snowblower. This thing takes up very little space and clips right in to my modular trimmer. I was skeptical that this would work, but after using it for the first time I found that it could cut right through my lawn that had grown over onto the sidewalk. Now I have a nice straight edge along my lawn from a trimmer attachment that takes up very little space when not in use. Highly recommended.
- I bought this edger based on the other reviews I read on Amazon. I had intended to purchase the Expand-it brand, but the reviews convinced me to go with Poulan. Glad I did. It works great. Could not be more satisfied.
- Works as advertised...Well worth the $48.00...No need here for the more expensive self contained edgers...This worked just fine for me using my Ryobi weed eater...
- Had used a string trimmer to do edging for years, but wanted to make those edged lines straighter, more professional looking. This really does the trick! Takes some getting used to, you have to get the cutting angle right, but boy does it do a good job! Very easy to use, though heavy (but it has to be to do its work). Well constructed; the gearbox gives off a substantial, smooth feel to the edging operation. Had looked at several other edging attachments but became convinced this unit would work best all-in-all and haven't been a bit disappointed.

5 comments about SpringStar - Mosquito Trap.
- I got tired of putting pesticides on my yard and in my house. I found SpringStar, and all I can say is that the stuff works. Bugs are either dead or gone, and no pesticides.
- I have a propane-driven mosquito trap, and while I'm very pleased with its performance I was hoping to stop filling the propane tank every month or so. I saw this product reviewed on Kevin Kelly's Cool Tools (usually a reliable source) and ordered it. I followed the enclosed instructions to the letter.
We've gone years with a drastically reduced mosquito population, thanks to the propane engine. In *one month*, there's been an incredible surge. I see bugs caught inside, but I see THOUSANDS biting me outside!
Utterly worthless and counter-productive. Perhaps Florida mosquitoes are too smart for it?
- I put this out in my yard around may 28 and haven't caught one mosquito yet. Although they are all over me and my husband (and baby), even to the point we can't go outside for any period of time, none of them have seemed to be able to find this trap. I'm very disappointed.
- SpringStar - Mosquito Trap. An Amazing product!! It REALLY Works. I have two placed approximately 20 feet away from each end of my patio. Here in the Mid-west the mosquito problem is "biting" particularly this year with the rains. NO MOSQUITOS with this product. My neighbors were chased inside at dusk by the mosquitos - now evenings are spent on my deck - mosquito free. DO carefully follow the instructions and I suspect they work best when use begins with the first sighting of mosquitos. AND it is environmentally safe.
- This product proved to be as effective as described. I couldn't believe how well it worked and how fast. Within 24 hours we were able to stop dousing ourselves with insect repellant and were just able to go outside in our wooded backyard and enjoy our patio, trampoline and other outdoor living space. I also liked it because it gave us the opportunity to use a pet friendly solution to our mosquito problem.

5 comments about American Lawn Mower Company 14-Inch Deluxe Hand Reel Mower #1204-14.
- i use this mower to trim around places that grow the fastest. no noise, no fumes, i love it.
- This is a great little mower for doing small trim up jobs or getting small sections of lawn. It's no harder to push than a regular gas mower (that is not self-propelled, of course). It makes a little noise that sounds like a bunch of people opening and closing scissors - but it's still very quiet compared to a gas mower - plus when it is time to mow, just take it out and start pushing it around. No gas cans, no running to the gas station, no checking the oil, no extra heat coming off the engine, no exhaust fumes to breath in, no spark plug going bad, no pull rope breaking, ... you get the idea. If you find this thing difficult to use you need to get a physical checkup right away, get on a diet, and start slowly exercising (Push the mower at a slow pace) - at least until you get rid of the first hundred pounds. Anyways, now that I've offended all the lazy people who complain reel mowers are hard - if you're a normal person and you have any desire to help do your part to reduce pollution (fumes and noise) then don't hesitate to try one of these things out. I'm glad I ended up giving it a try. If I had an average size lawn to mow I would move up to a 18 - 20" reel mower. I've also bought the fiskar's long handled grass shears in place of a weed eater. It's very light and easy to use - though more time consuming.
- I received this product on time and with no problems. It was easy to assemble and has worked great for several mowings. If you want a low price, no pollution, and to get exercise when you mow your lawn, this fits the bill. Definitely not for large yards but great for small ones. If you have lots of twigs or sticks falling in your yard, don't get this as they tend to stick in the blades.
- The best thing is the light weight. It does everything a heavy noisy mower does and I can carry it around on one hand. Love it. Tall weeds get tangled on the axle, but it is easy to untangle them by hand.
- This was easy to put together and easy to use. I don't have a big lawn, so it is ideal for me. Some parts of the lawn were overgrown and it took a bit more effort than a power mower would. However, since a big mower takes more effort to use overall, I think it balances. It does take longer to use than a power mower, but I rather enjoyed the workout it gave me. Clean lawn, little mess, and I didn't smell like fumes when it was over.

5 comments about Bug Vacuum.
- This Bug Vacuum works great to trap bugs and kill them fast. The unit has flat cup at the end to trap the insect and trap door that keeps them inside the tube. The bug is sucked down the tube to the electric bug zapper where they are eliminated. I have only had mine for a short time but have caught all size spiders and bugs. I even sucked up a large brown spider on my family room ceiling with ease. You if are scared to death of spiders and I am you will surely love this device- it really does work!
L.L.
- I BOUGHT TWO, ALMOST NO VACCUM, REPEAT; ALMOST NO VACCUM. MY WALLET WAS VACCUMED FOR THE MONEY I SPENT FOR THIS JUNK. WM.
- This is a great tool. It zap the bugs, no matter what kind right up.
It is not so great on silver fish. All other are great. I love the suction cup keep bugs from getting away. I wish it were easier to get the carcasses out once dead, but as long as they are dead I can live with the rest. I would recommend this product to anyone who hates bugs.
I clean mine out after every kill. Because once they are zapped and you go to get the next one, you smell a little bit of burning going on.
- What a waste of money. Utter failure (wouldn't suck up the bugs, didn't kill them on the "grid"). Threw it in the trash. Don't waste your money. Use a shoe. That's what we're back to doing. Would give is zero stars if that were an option.
- I am terrified of spiders, and this has been a lifesaver when I've been home alone and had to kill one! The tube is long enough that you can reach a bug on the ceiling usually without needing to get a chair or stool. And, it's long enough so you don't feel like you have to get too close to the bug -- which is good for me when I have to kill a spider. I have found that sometimes the suction is stronger when you don't use the cup attachment at the top. Some other bug vacuums suck the bugs into a cartridge that you have to replace, but this one is nice because there's no cartridge. The bug just get an electric shock and then you can shake it into the garbage or toilet. Sometimes I've had to pull the blue tube off and tap the device lightly on the toilet or the garbage can to get the bug to release. I had one of these before and it lasted about 5 years before its internal battery wouldn't hold a charge anymore. But, it was well worth the money, and I purchased a new one right away.

5 comments about Havahart Spray Away Motion Activated Water Repellent #5265.
- I bought two of these just over a week ago. At the maximum sensitivity setting it will spray water to you if you walk 30+ feet away, so that is a positive. However, at maxmium sensivity one or the other will go off (every 1/2 hour or so) without any obvious trigger. I will look out at its coverage area in the morning and the ground is slightly damp (which is fine for my purposes, since I'm trying to get grass to sprout). I haven't had it long enough to know the effect on battery life. I'm also suspicious of the effect of cottonwood "fluff" in the air, falling leaves, or rain. I do know that if water from a sprinkler falls within the detection range, the motion detector will go off (at max setting).
I had just tilled and grass seeded an area about 35' by 50' and there are lots of deer which pass through my yard (I've seen 14 at one time). I should have put the motion sprinklers in place a couple days before seeding and raking, as it seems to take a day or two for the deer to start avoiding the seeded area. Because I put the sprinklers in after seeding there are a number of deep hoofprints in the ground, but I don't think there are any new ones lately.
Notice: The detection range (a fan shaped area maybe 90 degrees wide) allows deer to wander up behind or beside the sprinkler, get detected when they enter the detection zone, then bolt when the sprinkler goes off. I suspect a number of the deep hoof prints in my newly seeded area are a result of deer wandering onto the seeded area from behind the sprinkler, then digging in their hoofs when running away after they entered the detection zone. The sprinkler covers 180 degrees or more (like any pulse sprinkler), but the detection zone isn't that wide so you would have to have a number of sprinklers to overlap detection zones to keep deer from "sneaking up" behind a sprinkler.
In any case, I haven't seen any deer anywhere in my yard for the last week, when I usually see at least one a day, so they appear to be avoiding my whole yard entirely now.
Note to Havahart: Since the sprinkler is about 2 feet off the ground so it covers a big area, how about having a setting where you can just water the ground like any other sprinkler, then reset it to "detect mode" after watering.
- When this is setup reasonably this seems to do a good job of keeping deer away. The smaller criters really don't care, raccoons are probably smart enough to turn it off if they care and turn it back on after so you won't know. The sensor is wind sensitive so if you set it too high, it will be triggering all the time on windy days. It would be nice if it had a toggle switch to turn it on and off so the setting could be left in one place. Better would be a button to turn it off for 1 hour so you could work in the area and not have to worry about turning it back on.
- It took a few tries to get this adjusted just right but I got it now! Boy the cats are perplexed and staying out of my garden! The only drawback is forgetting it is there and walking into the trap myself!
- After reading some of these reviews, I was uncertain if I would be happy with this product, but my deer/dog problem was ruining my yard. I ordered 2.
These are plastic units, which is why I give them 4 stars. The hose connections should be brass, in my opinion. Hence, all the leaking complaints on the reviews for these sprayers. Fortunately, I was able to circumvent these leaks by changing out the provided rubber hose washers, using Teflon putty on all of the threads and by attaching a "quick release" type of attachment (from Lowes) to the hose attachment threads - this way I won't strip the plastic threads on the sprayer whenever I switch hoses for the sprayer. Just an easy click and the sprayer is in a new location. Now the unit has no leaks at all, inspite of being connected to the hose all day and night.
The motion detector works fine (note: it does have a "delay" between firings to prevent continued firings, so expect this). The sprayer portion is just like a lawn waterer, which can be adjusted in terms of range of fire and in terms of the width of the spray pattern.
This year my day lillies were not devoured by the deer and the neighborhood dogs have had to change their daily bathroom patterns.
- Not at all worth the money. I would not recommend this product at all. Two units were ordered, and only one sort of worked for a little while. Not impressed with this product and the very high cost for what it is is outrageous.

5 comments about Self-Watering Probes - Package of 5.
- These are great!
I have one each in all my houseplants now since I am going away for 2 weeks. I have ben testing them to see how much water they would need. I reckon a gallon jug will do it for sure.
I noticed one was working for a while and then dried up, not sure why, maybe because I placed the thing at the side of the plant instead of the middle. I will resoak it and then see if it works this time.
I just love them and am going to buy 5 more for my herb containers outside, not sure if they will work outside but worth a try... so much better than having to ask a neighbour to come around.
- I just got back from a two week work trip. I ordered these Self-Watering Probes to try on two medium to large plants that I have. The probes worked great! Both plants looked fresh and happy when I arrived back home.
- These 5 watering probes have eliminated a lot of work for me. I have large vases sitting next to my flowers which I fill with water every few days, and I don't have to worry about forgetting my plants or overwatering them.
- We just returned from a 10-day vacation, leaving 7 plants and containers to the care of 10 spikes. Not only did all plants (indoors and out) survive during warm July weather, several showed better growth than with hand watering. The process to "start" and install the spikes is clearly described, and it's comforting to know that the spikes can be rehabilitated after extended use. We have left most in place as a convenience. Pay attention to the pot size guidelines -- we have four spikes in the largest container, a 24" herb pot. These are highly recommended!
- I had to go on a trip for about 2 weeks and thought of asking somebody to water the plants for me but being away for 2 weeks it's a big burden for anybody to do so. So I did some research for alternatives.
The positive review of this self-watering probes led me to purchasing this item.
They arrived within a few days after my order and are easy to use. All you have to do is to soak them in water for 15 minutes then put them into the soil and leave the water hose in a water container. The one thing to watch out is the water level. It should not be higher than the plant.
I tested them for a few days before my trip and refilled the water tank before leaving home for my trip.
Every single plant survived and I found 7 new big tomatoes when I came home the other day (The flowers were blooming when I left).
I am very happy I purchased this item and would highly recommend it.

- Toro 43-Gallon Spring Bucket #29210
The bucket performs well and stores relatively flat. It seems rugged enough to endure some heavy duty projects. It was slightly challenging to pull out a very full plastic liner all by myself, but should't be a problem with an extra pair of hands.
- I have been looking for a product like this for two years. This brand is the best one I have found. I could not be more pleased with the quality.
- Very helpful - even for a woman that does little yard work. Though I had the bag not stay in placw well.
- Much better material than other similar buckets I have owned and the price was very inexpensive. Works well and holds plenty. Well worth the purchases, even with shipping.
- Very durable and the clips to keep it folded are excellent, much better than velcro.
