1. This product seems to be intended for very light duty. Fortunately that is my situation. It does always run, however, the spool runs out fairly quickly. I would not buy this product again.



2. I bought this as a replacement spool for my electric "Twist N Edge" trimmer. The spool fits perfectly on the trimmer. This replacement string performs the same as the original string. I did not rate this product 5 stars because I would like to have more string on the spool.

5 comments about Makita 18-Volt Cordless Electric Variable-Speed Blower (battery not included) #UB181DZ.

1. I recently purchased this blower and the separate ...battery you need, but have yet to use it because I have had trouble finding an 18v battery charger. Amazon doesn't have one as a separate product, nor [do local stores](18 volt chargers are rare items, I am told). I wound up ordering a new Makita 18 volt 1/2" drill kit with two batteries and a charger for about $209 (not much more than the price of two batteries). A reconditioned drill kit would be even better, as recommended in another review here, but when I looked Amazon no longer carried this item.

   Point is, think about how you are going to buy your batteries (cheaper in a kit) and where you will get a charger if not in a kit.

   I give it 5 stars because I assume it is a great product, and the review system requires a stars to be selected.




2. I am a contractor who really needs a small cordless vacuum and blower. I already have many corded and cordless 18v Makita tools, so I was really looking forward to this arriving. There is a really aweful reason why you only ever see the photo of this set up in blower configuration. It's because that is all it is any good for. To convert it to a vacuum you have to put the dust bag on the front in place of the nozzle, then you put the nozzle on the side of the maching sticking out at 90 degrees from the handle!! Obviously, the machine is now such a weird shape it is now basically useless as a vacuum. It cannot be used to vacuum a van or car. It cannot be used to vacuum inside cabinets or anything else. I am not even sure how you could hold the trigger while holding the machine so the nozzle aims in front of you. You would probably have to use both hands. I can't believe anyone could be stupid enough to design this. They should sell it as just a blower or give a photo of it in both configurations to warn people.
   I never even bothered to put a battery in it or turn it on. Five minutes after opening it and reading the instructions, it was back in its box and on its way to Amazon returns.
   If you ONLY want a blower, then maybe it would be fine for you. If you want a cordless vacuum, then don't even consider this Frankenstein designed machine.



3. I do woodworking on the weekends and bought this blower to clean up my shop. The variable speed on the blower is very useful; I can use the blower with just enough force to blow sawdust off of my tools and work surfaces without creating a dust storm in my shop. The 18 volt battery lasts for several days when used in this mode. My only complaint is that the blower won't stand upright when set on a flat surface. I wish Makita had built the blower with the weight distributed such that it would stand up when set on a surface.



4. A joy to use! Much quieter than plug-in electrics, but a little less powerful. It really gets the job done easily. Instead of pulling out 100 ft of cord or gassing up the really loud gas blower--I can just pull this compact, light blower out and get the job done in 5 minutes instead of 20.
   Battery usually lasts long enough to do several cleanups after mowing and trimming front and back yards. Should be available with charger and 18V battery included. I really like it!



5. The blower portion works real well. The hose could be longer so as to not have to stoop at times. An extention wand would be great. The vacuum is useless since the impeller is blocked by a non-removable guard under the intake by a plastic cross. One small leaf blocked it immediately. I laughed at the size when I saw it but it works good for small quick jobs.

1. this doesn't charge at all i bought to charge a 12 volt battery- then when i got it found its only a maintainer. FALSE ADVERTISING



2. I purchased one of these in the hope it could trickle-charge a car battery over a few days. It won't. It produces such a small current in full sunlight that it can only maintain the existing charge of a battery. If you have a flat battery and you leave this plugged in for a few days, you'll still have a flat battery.



3. Regardless of what the Amazon listing says (and I asked them to change it over a month ago and still haven't) this product is NOT weatherproof. When you open the package the literature about the product specifically states that it is "not for use outdoors". You have to pay more to get a weatherproof model.

1. Not much to say, other than it works and does not get nearly as hot as the 65W supply running my 600m on the docking station.

1. I had previously bought 3 Victor plunger type traps.I had no luck with them. I bought the Nash choker loop and have trapped 2 in approximately one month.



2. For Years we have been trying to get rid of our Ground Moles. Got 3 traps about 10 days ago and my wife have already trapped 8 of them. Sure is nice we found something that works. So if you want a trap that works this is the one. The yard is looking so much better.



3. Though moles do aid aerate land, their feeding needs can do some real damage to a lawn. The Nash Mole Trap, though a little tricky to set, once properly in place, does the job effectively. After having used other methods available on the market without success, I found the Nash Trap worked.



4. This mole trap takes less work to set, i.e digging further into your lawn than the mole has already, than our other one. It does catch moles. Tricky to set but it gets the job done!

1. I owned this blower previously, and thought it worked well. However, I ran it for an extended period of time, and the motor caught on fire. I am purchasing a new one, and know better now not to run it for such extened periods of time. Overall, I like it.

3. This was just as it was pictured. The first time I used it I was amazed at how much power it had for such a small compact unit. I would highly recommend this to anyone interested in buying it.
   I have owned gas powered leaf blowers, electric leaf blowers and have always had a hard time with their bulkiness and weight. This lightweight leaf blower is impressive.

1. i purchased the "Black & Decker EX900-A-TP1 Ultrasonic Pest Repeller (XL Room)" because we had some roof damage from a storm a while back and a pair of squerrels moved in to the ceiling. 24 hours after pluging this unit in they where gone.
   
   the only drawback is the unit emits a constant "chirping" sound. it can be quight annoying. but efective none the less. the chirping is less noticeable on the "insect" setting tho im not sure this setting would work for "rodents". all in all quight pleased.



2. This product is useless for mice. i have been using this for the past 5 months or so and i still have mice problem.
   I am looking at other options now.



3. we started seeing small black spiders in our house so we wanted to try one of these to see if it would get rid of them.
   a few hours after we plugged it in and set it on the insect setting, i started seeing spiders periodically running across the floor so its obvisously doing something to them (hope its running them outta the house).
   i have heard that some spiders can adapt to the sound after awhile so its still up in the air wether it works in the long run aand wether or not its driving them out or the sound is just agitating them but so far its certainly doing something and having an affect on them.



4. I don't like the item because it consist of 2 pieces: a power cord and a repellent unit. It would be great if it would be one compact item.



5. i bought this product for my garage to help with spiders and other bugs.
   i have not noticed any change what so ever. matter of fact there was a spider walking across the front of it while it was turned on. what a waste of money. don't waste your time it does not work!!

5 comments about Fiskars Pro Splitting Axe 28-Inch #7859.

1. I bought a Fiskar axe and sharpener. I've used the axe before and decided to get one of my own. It stays sharp through alot of wood especially fat lighter. Great product.



2. performed as advertised and noted by other reviewers on light duty yard work and log splitting for fire wood. can easily see this as a must have for any woodsman.



3. well made, however it is far too light weight and did not come with any real edge; understandable, it is a splitting ax. for something this light though, it should have been sharp. overall it is a quality product just not on the scale of anything more than a pack ax



4. This axe was a great purchase. I had needed a splitting axe or maul and tried the weights of different brands. I didn't try out the others personally (in real splitting action) other than swinging, so I can't compare results, but I really do like the Fiskars. Feels good in the hands and does a great job at splitting. I would buy another if needed.



5. I can't recommend this axe enough. Cut through my logs like a hot knife through butter.

5 comments about Rapid Reel 225-Foot Four-Wheel Wagon Hose Reel #GH168-WG.

1. Easy assembly and good instructions. However, for the price, you would expect better quality. There are some plastic parts and the unit doesn't feel as sturdy or as well made as a Rapid Reel that I purchased about 3 to 4 years ago that was all metal construction and built like a tank. The fittings were also heftier in the previous model. The quality has defintely slipped a notch or two. Still better than the plastic hose reels on the market, but a disappointment for the price and as compared to an earlier Rapid Reel. It appears that a concious decision was made to reduce manufacturing costs, which in turn, sacrificed quality.



2. Top notch build. Instructions that are above and beyond what you have come to expect these days. This is replacing an endless line of plastic junk. I will never buy anything else - about to order our second.



3. Long ago I saw a sign in a clock shop, "When you buy quality, you only buy once". After wasting lots of money through the years on several of those not-so-cheap plastic hose reels, I decided to stop the madness and buy a quality product. This Rapid Reel product is well made, easy (socket wrench) to assemble (30 minutes), and destined to last. It is also made in the USA! I like this product so much that I recently ordered a second one. If you need a quality hose reel that won't tip and are tired of the plastic junk, I highly recommend this product!



4. Smooth working, unlike jerky plastic molded reels which always have tight spots. High quality construction. Easy assembly (Important to have the correct size phillips screwdriver. I thought I would get by with using the first one I picked up, but it didn't work out.)



5. I am very pleased with the quality of this product. It is more expensive; but you get what you pay for. I have purchased both the four wheel wagon and the two wheel cart. I did have a small problem with the cart; but I contacted Rapid Reel's Customer Service and they took care of my concern immediately.
