  1. This product was 100% effective in eliminating a serious mole problem in my yard. Poison peanuts, traps, insecticides, dogs, shovels, water, etc. had not done much. You must follow the directions and find the most recently used burrow, dig down a few inches to see the actual tunnel(as close as possible to where you think the nest is) and insert the GD with the fuse pointed toward the nest.

  2. I've used a lot of products to eliminate voles and these seem to work the best. I've tried cheaper ones that did not produce enough gas and the little varmits actually dug them out and flipped them on top of the ground. Talk about a "Caddy Shack" experience!! The first time you use them you will be a bit surprised as it is like lighting a giant firecracker but after a few times you become quite proficient at it. I've learned to check for mounds 1st thing in the morning and only put them down new burrows, as the critters move alot and may have blocked that tunnel or moved on. Experience is the key to a good kill.

  1. This is a handy kit and the seat is lightweight and easy to carry from one place to another when pulling weeds. Great deal for all the pieces included!

  2. This is an excellent value. Tools are very good quality and worth nearly the price of the whole set (currently 22). But a couple minor problems that might be major problems for you:

    1) The interior of the bag is dark. I don't know about you, but just like purses, I have difficulty finding things in pouches and bags when the lining is dark.

    2) The stool may hold 230 pounds, but I am not sure if it would be comfortable. I'm a 140# woman. The seat's OK but can be a bit uncomfortable on my backside if I don't sit in it just right. If I was 20 pounds heavier, I doubt that I would use it at all.

In retrospective, I think I might have been better off with one of the rolling seats with storage made out of plastic. It would be easier to clean, more mobile, & more comfortable on the backside. Nevertheless, it still was a good purchase.

  1. The Xantrex portable powersource has allowed us to go mobile at outrigger canoe races with a fully powered laptop, a printer and keep an Ipod charges while it's hooked up to sound system.

    Great product

  2. I live off-grid, in an RV. I run the generator to recharge a 300aH bank of batteries for the 12v systems in the RV. But even the smallest, most efficient generator still supplies more power than I need. With the excess power I charge several of these Xantrex PowerSources. They then give me back the AC power I need when the generator is off. I use them to power my internet connection, laptop, cell phone recharges, watching TV/DVD, etc. As for usage... I have a 26" standard TV w/DVD, and I can watch a DVD for 3 hours or so. My wireless internet dish only draws about 5 watts, and I can keep it powered for days. If you are looking to power just a laptop and cell phone, for 8 hours a day, you could probably last two days with one unit. These batteries should not be discharged down to more than 50%, and the unit will beep loudly and eventually shut off power, so you don't get the full use of 400 watts overall, it's more like 240. You also don't really get 400 watts at once, count on only plugging in 300 watts worth of stuff at a time. Even so, given the price per amp-hour of AGM batteries, this UPS is still an incredible deal, just in battery value alone--and a much better deal considering portability (luggable, but not too bad), and the included inverter and drawdown info. Very easy to use, the readouts on both my units have always worked fine and any beeping that does happen is appropriate and helpful. Family friendly, and relatively idiot-proof. Once I explained how they worked, others who have stayed in my trailer have found them easy to operate and difficult to damage. Anyway, buy a couple of these and you'll run your generator WAY less often and for a much shorter time.

  3. Have run a 31" TV, Dishnetwork reciever, DVD player, portable computer, wireless telephone/answering machine and flourescent lamp for combined totals of 5 watts to 130 watts with no noticeable effects when switching between ac input and operating of internal batteries. Works great.

  4. When cruise ships arrive to Old San Juan and stay until midnight, you can have 3 to 4 lamps with spiral shaped 13watt bulbs that illuminate like 60 watt bulbs and you have power for 4 nights in a row @ 4 hours per night.
However, to extend the life of it, I recharge it nightly. Works great since june and should last quite some time. Much, much better than the ones with jump start feature.

  5. I have only had this product for a few weeks but I have tested it and was quite happy with the result. The switch over from line power to internal power was seamless. The transition back to line power was the same. I had a Desktop PC, small lamp, cordless phone, router, Vonage modem, stereo and speaker switch for my whole house system operating for just shy of two hours before the fifty percent signal sounded. There was no deterioration of performance quality on my phone, sound system, or PC(Including my Magicjack).
I really like the display of wattage use, although it is not extremely precise. It was good enough for me to tweak my device choices.
I bought this to have a safeguard against my family being left without communication should I not be home to get the generator started in case of an outage. It also provides me a 'no panic' time frame even if I am home, to get the generator going.
I would recommend this product. For the price there is nothing out there to compare. It is a little on the heavy side due to the battery capacity, but I am not planning on moving it so that is not much of a problem. Even though it is heavy it is not bulky and fits under my desk without interferring with my movements.
It does not have any USB capability, but that also is not a deterrent for my uses.
A reviewer mentioned a bothersome beeping. The unit does signal when there is a status change, but it is not constant. it's a feature that is more covenient then bothersome in my opinion. I don't have to concern myself with keeping an eye on it's status. Having the power off is enough to think about. There is also a fan noise when the unit is recharging itself, but again, it wasn't anything that was intrusive, although it was constant for the entire recharge which lasted several hours.
This was a small price too pay for a whole bunch of convenience.
I am thinking about getting the 1800 watt unit so as to extend my time before having to generate power, since a generator seems mighty noisy at night. I would then be able to use this unit to power lights and other covenience devices.

  1. I put this on my Honda Harmony 2 and love it. It makes mowing so much easier. Heavy duty construction, so it will go on my next mower when this one stops.
Great product and well worth the money.

  2. WOW! I really love this product! Easy to install and very well made. Not the norm now days. Plus it saved me money, time and back breaking work. It only took 10 minutes to remove my old wheels (rusted on) and install my EAZY MOW wheels. I couldn't see spending $600+ on a new one that had the wheels I wanted and a driven transmission that I did not. It made my mower super easy to maneuver! With so many turns I'd cracked my original factory wheels lifting/dragging/sliding it around. This is actually one of life's surprising pleasures that is way better than expected! If I had more than one mower they'd all have these! Way better than ever could ever have been expected. No one should do without this. THANK YOU!!

  3. Installed on my new 6.75HP Craftsman mower and we love it. This kit enables my short wife with small hands to operate the mower like a pro. No more bending or leaning for either of us. No fighting at the end of a row or turning a corner. Just keep pushing normally. Wish I'd known about it years ago. Very sturdy product as well. Probably outlast the mower.

  4. Works perfectly...well designed and easy installation. I did need to drill one mounting hole on each side but nothing difficult at all.

  5. the easy mow is a good product. The heigth adjustment knob in the front should have lock washers included. the knobs have vibrated loose and had to be replaced with wing nuts and carriage bolts.

  1. I have used this product a number of times, since its purchase, and I am very happy with its operation.

  2. This was just exactly what I was looking for. My old one gave up the ghost after several years, so I needed a replacement quick, and that's what I got. The picture made it clear that this was the 14.4v model; others for Ryobi look similar but don't work for all rechargeables, so the photo really cinched it. Very fast shipping.

3 comments about Fiskars 30-Inch Bow Saw #7031.
  1. The picture and description doesn't do this saw justice. I was leery buying another 30 in bow saw because the ones I've had over 21" are flimsy and easily bent. The Fiskar 30" Saw is not round but rather oval (making the bends very strong), heavy aluminum but yet light weight. It feels like a high quality durable saw in your hands. It's very unlikely this one will be damaged with normal use or by accidentally dropping a log on. If there was one thing that I would change it would be a better grip (larger) that fits my hand better. But it is comfortable enough to saw all day. I chose this saw because it cost was twice as much as the others on Amazon and the one's that are available locally. I relied on the theory that you get what you pay for, and for once I was right. I'd recommend this saw to anyone and am planning on replacing my 21" bow saw with the Fiskar 21" with the confidence it be made with the same quality.

  2. For a period of twenty years or so starting in about 1950, bow saws based on a design by the Sandvik Company in Sweden were used for serious work in forestry and arboriculture. They were lighter and easier to use than crosscut saws, but were much cheaper than gasoline powered chain saws, which had not quite permeated the market to the extent that they did later on. Unfortunately for those of us who still use bow saws for serious work, they are no longer made as well as they once were. Today's bow saws are almost all made by contract with companies in Asia and marketed for very light use.

Nonetheless, in the midst of this sad situation, the Fiskars stands out as one bow saw that is reasonably good. It is lightweight, has excellent balance , feels right in the hand, and has a tensioning mechanism that is fairly firm and keeps the blade taught in spite of hard use.

By comparison, the Corona 30 inch saw is strong but feels a little heavy. The Bahco and Gilmour versions of the 30 inch saw are lightweight and well balanced, but their tensioning handles are not as firm. The cheap plastic hand guard on the Bahco saw I own actually fell off the first time I used it and I have had to wrap the saw with tape to keep the handle tight.

I have used the Fiskars 30 inch bow saw in trailwork and around the home, felling, bucking and limbing trees up to 14 inches in diameter quite easily. It cuts well in both green and dry wood with a Bahco No. 51 blade (all cutting teeth, no rakers), and it is small enough to get into tight places, which is often needed when clearing blowdowns or when limbing large trees. To increase the size of trees one can handle, one can, of course, cut from two directions. With a little practice, one can master the art of getting both cuts to meet so that the log is cut through cleanly, almost as if it was done from one direction only.

I use this saw all the time in combination with the Fiskars Pro Chopping Axe, which is a superb tool and an excellent companion to the bow saw for forestry and trailwork. My only regret is that Fiskars doesn't make a 36 inch bow saw in addition to the 30 inch and 21 inch models.

  3. I'm not sure why the other reviewers have glowing things to say about this saw. The frame is rigid as mentioned. There is NO tensioning mechanism for the blade. The blade tangs are made of what looks like aluminum and are barely adequate to hold the blade in place. The blade itself cuts VERY poorly, so poorly I was wondering if I got a manufacturing defect. If you have a few extra hours to kill, then by all means use this saw to cut a branch or two! The whole point of a bow saw is portability and quick sawing action. This one fails utterly.

I purchased this saw in June of 2008. It was manufactured in China.

  1. I first bought the 100W slim line inverter that Targus makes (APV10US) and the fan in that unit was so outrageously loud, i returned it.

So i returned it for the cheaper, larger 90W unit and was delighted to find that it was completely silent and had NO FAN!!!!

the power is fine for DVD players, my IBM thinkpad laptop, etc. (just not at the same time).

  2. Works as advertised. Now if I could only get airlines to provide coach seats with adaptors I'd be all set.

  3. I use this almost every time I'm in the car. It has a fan in it that makes a whirring noise but its no big deal. If you are drawing a lot of power it has a high pitched tone (which usually will stop if you turn on the car...i.e. there's more power generated). It works great and keeps my laptop always charged. The part that plugs into the lighter has the cord on it so you can put it in tight spots unlike some other products. I've had 2 of them now and the reason I only gave it 4 stars is because they do tend to break after a year or so. I just keep replacing them...definitely worth it.

  4. My family uses this on those long car rides, and because we have a lot of portable electronics (DVD player, iPods, Mobile phones, and more) it really provides a flexible solution for keeping us in power.

My only complaint is that the unit could be a little bit smaller. Otherwise, it does what it says.

  5. I like this converter. I can plug my Laptop into it while in the car, and be productive all day long. I don't have to worry about my laptop battery dying or having to wait for my PC to boot when I need info.

5 comments about Suncast 100' Garden Hose Capacity Wall Mounted Sidetracker Hose Reel, Taupe #SWA100.
  1. This is a great product. Extremely compact, blends in well; easy to use and durable. It worked perfectly in nearly daily use for almost 10 years without my having to replace a single part. The coupling between the stationary mount and the removable wheel finally broke and I'm very glad the product is still available--still for under $30!
Highly recommended but, as with all hose reels, you must remember to take it inside in below-freezing weather (the reel is clipped to the mount and detaches very easily).

  2. Pros:

    - Pretty easy to install
    - Nice Looking, sturdy plastic
    - Holds 2 hoses

    Cons:

    - None so far

  3. This hose reel mounts easily. I was worried that it wouldn't hold up to a lot of use, but it has worked well for three months now with no problems.

  4. The above hose reel was installed approximately one month ago. Bear in mind I have owned a similar hose reel from this company for over 20 years before it stopped working.

Yesterday I went to use the garden hose and the inner and outer wheels of the hose reel are severely warped to the extend the inner wheel rubs on the house. I will be returning this item but am very skeptical about accepting another product as I feel this is a manufacturing defect which will be consistent with another hose wheel.

I could not under any circumstances recommend this product.

  5. This was a replacement for a previous model. It's fine, but less hose capacity than the previous model.

5 comments about Poulan Pro 20-Inch 46cc 2-Cycle Gas Powered Chain Saw #PP4620AVX.
  1. Just bought this saw today am returning it tomorrow. After several hours of cutting I've decided that it is a nice saw for someone cutting a few branches on occasion but for someone who cuts logs into firewood length on a consistent basis it has one major problem. The chain adjustment device just does not work. Over about 4 hours I had to tighten the chain over 20 times and the chain jumped off the bar 3 times. Very dangerous!!! I've had many chainsaws over the last 30 years and this is absolutely the worst chain tensioning system I've ever used. No matter how tight you turn the big knob it goes out of adjustment quickly.I also noticed that for a 46cc engine it seems to be light on power for a 20 inch saw. It does the job but when cutting a log 16-18 inches in dia. it bogs down alot.

  2. First I want to point out I purchased this saw from a local retailer but since I look to Amazon for customer reviews I thought I would share this. I purchased the saw to cut 3 cord of wood and at first I loved the saw, it sliced its way through tree after tree but after a few hours of work the plastic wheel 'no tool' chain adjuster broke, the wheel would spin and spin but the pin/thread rod didn't move. I figured it was a fluke so I went to my retailer and exchanged it.

When I got home I went right to work, filled it with gas and oil and started it. I hit the gas a few times to warm it up and when I let off I heard a PING and a cling cling cling... sounded like a metal bur from the manufacturing process broke off and was stuck in the fly wheel. I shut the saw down, inspected it and started it again, the sound was gone. After about 30 minutes of cutting I notice the chain was loose so I shut it down and tried to adjust. The 'no tool' wheel just spun and spun so I took the cover off and noticed the chain / bar adjustment pin was snapped off! That was the PING, cling cling I heard when I first started it.

Needless to say this saw is NOT for serious wood cutters because the cheap components don't last, one didn't even survive the first start.

  3. It's better to approach this saw with low expectations. The first thing you notice is that the body is all plastic. As noted elsewhere even the tightening knob is plastic. I've gone through one knob in a few months and bought two spares. The bar clamp doesn't lock the bar down so the chain flies off easily. DON'T take the bar off because lining up the lug with the hole is a challenge. The air filter is an expensive but flimsy plastic-and-gauze assembly that loads up quickly and tears. Even if the filter isn't torn dirt gets through the rinky-dink gasket under it.

But what do you expect when you pay under $200 for a 20-inch saw? I'm shopping for a better saw. I'll keep this one for emergencies.

  4. Been working cutting down a lot of pine Beetle kill off in the mountains of Colorado. I have used this saw for a few years and have worked great.Starts every time and is very clean running. The tool less adjustment for the chain broke after a year. The adjustment got bent up. I just bought a new saw from Husqvarna 357XP. If you pay more money for a saw you get a lot more. Also wear safety equipment.

    Check out http://www.usa.husqvarna.com/products.aspx

  5. The chain tensioning system is awful. It kicks the blade off and I spend more time fixing then cutting. Runs find but feels cheap and flimsy. Not something I trust to have cutting at full speed near my body. I've had a Homelite, Stihl, and Craftsman and they all make this look like a dangerous kids toy. I am back to using my 16" as it cuts faster and it's solid.
