5 comments about Tricam GOR200B-T Gorilla Carts 600-Pounds Capacity Dumping Cart.
  1. Just received the Gorilla Garden Cart - for the money its a great buy. It definitely looks bigger in the pics - but it is adequate for our needs around the yard. The undercarriage is very solid - the pneumatic tires very nice. Cart went together in about 40 minutes - i followed other reviewers' advice and put large washers under the bolts inside the cart for added stability. I wish the plastic tub was heavier gauge also. The dump feature is great - but I especially like the fact that the pull handle can convert to a tractor hitch. I doubt I'd trust 600lbs in the cart - but for hauling shrub clippings, plants, etc - it will be a great replacement for our old beat-out unstable wheel barrow. After lengthy searching on the 'net, the Gorilla Garden cart from Amazon.com (thanks as always for the free shipping!!!) was the best choice without going crazy on credit card.

  2. I purchased this for my elderly father. It's very easy for him to pull and dump yard clippings.

  3. I bought this cart, and developed a headache assembling it inside. The plastic gives off a strong smell, which is not discernable outside (thank goodness). Everything about this cart is heavy, so if you have any hills or bumpy landscape to navigate, you'd better be strong. In addition, it holds very little for its weight. When you want to dump it, you will have to tip the whole cart to get everything out... because it doesn't quite get the last 15% of material. The handle won't stay up (reachable) if the cart is not on level ground, so I find myself having to grab the handle off the ground most of the time. As you might guess, I was disappointed.

  4. This cart is great for small to medium loads pulled by a small to medium person. (Bottom line, if you're six feet tall and weigh 250 pounds, you'll look like a fool pulling this little guy around.) I've spent the summer hauling dirt and rocks from the driveway to the back yard. The cart dumps easily. It took some time but my husband said it was no problem to put together. I can't imagine how you would get 600 pounds of anything in such a small cart so that claim seems exaggerated but it's sturdy and MUCH easier to use than a wheelbarrow.

  5. I had wanted a wagon to use around the yard .I was about to buy a Radio Flyer when I saw this one, it is much better than a kids wagon and has been great for clean up after Gustav hit here.It is very sturdy and just the right size.

5 comments about FAIP Powerwasher 1,800 PSI 1.6 GPM Electric Pressure Washer #PWS1800-U.
  1. I have been very unsatisfied with the company, FAIP (aka Power Washer) that manufactured this unit. I initially received the power washer on August 7th, it ran well for 20 minutes when the motor started smoking and I shut down the unit. I let the unit cool down then tried to start it again with no success. I contacted the company via their live on-line system (it's impossible to contact them by phone even when you get their number) and they paid to have it sent back for repairs. Since the unit was new I asked for a new unit instead of a repair. They refused and said the needed parts were on back order. I waited for nearly three weeks then received the supposedly repaired unit. It still did not work as the motor would not start. Instead of replacing it they sent me instructions for trouble shooting the unit. From this process they determined that I needed to replace the on/off button. Why wasn't this checked when they had it in for repairs?. I was told they would send a new switch to me with instructions for installation but said it would take another 8-10 business days for delivery. I am waiting patiently but seriously doubt now that the switch is the real or only problem. I will write a new review if it is or is not the solution.

  2. Lesson learned. I failed to read all the reviews and ordered the unit. Used it once and when I tried to use it again, the pressure hose would not remain attached to the machine. It appears that the materials used in the hose threads is too soft and when I contacted the company, they said that I must have crossthreaded the hose attachment. Agreed to ship me another hose unit in 10-14 days but I am concerened that the replacement unit, with the soft metals used by the manufacturer, that it will crossthread again. I am really displeased with the unit and should have read the other reviews where others had similar problems. If the replacement hose crossthreads, I am returning for full refund. Why does a manufacturer continue to use the soft threading materials on their hose when the repeatedly have problems with crossthreading?

  3. This was one of my best purchases on Amazon. This pressure washer kicks butt! It is very powerful and the price was betterthan you'll find anywhere. My husband really loves it and now he's looking for things to clean!

  4. I have used my pressure washer 3 times so far and have had some problems. After reading a few reviews I was kind of scared. First thing happened the variable pressure wand got stuck on the low setting. A direct chat on the manufacturers web site helped me correct that. This last time when I hooked everything up and started the machine, no water was coming out at all. As if something was stuck inside the machine. I let it sit for an hour and she worked fine. I used it for more than 6 hours straight, and once the pressure is up it works great. The machine is tempermental and I am hoping it will continue working so well.

  5. I expected a good power washer after reading all of the great reviews. I was not disappointed, it even exceeded my expectations. Great little power washer, very lite and very quite.

  1. We've been using a product like this for the last 8 years or so. When it died, I was afraid I wouldn't be able to find a suitable replacement. Some of the other ones we've tried actually make a clicking sound that freak out our cats. This one seems to be working great. We haven't used any bug control chemicals/devices/etc for the ten years we've lived here and we still don't have to! We see a random small spider here or there once in a great while, but nothing that tells us it isn't working. Our cats don't mind it at all. Interestingly, a while back our town had a moth worm (?)infestation and they were crawling all over everyone's exterior walls. We didn't have any on our house. That showed me these products do work (when they work with the wiring of the house). We love it! And it's one less toxin in our environment. Just remember if you have a larger house that you'll need more than one.

5 comments about Toro 38361 Power Shovel 7.5 Amp Electric Snow Thrower.
  1. We purchased the Toro power shovel back in December after receiving several inches of snow at the beginning of the month. Of course, we didn't get any additional snow until March. I have used it to clean off the snow on our deck and sidewalk and it worked extremely well. Would recommend it to anyone who has a deck or sidewalk to clear of snow.

  2. I've been very happy with my Toro snow thrower. It does a great job cleaning snow up to about 6 inches deep. Not as good for deeper snow, but not designed for that much snow. Cleans well down to the surface.

  3. Got this for my 77 year old Dad. I think it will be perfect for him.

  4. This is a great little shovel. It is lightweight and clears the snow quickly and easily. The only thing is you can not direct where the snow will go. I used it on my 3 decks and walkways. We have rocks around patio stepping stones and as long as you are careful not to hit the rocks, it does great on the stepping stones too. I have a bad back and am in my 50's and not too healthy and it works just fine for me. Anyone can use it and that is what I was looking for.

  5. I was skeptical about buying this, I read the reviews and they were slightly mixed so I went with the majority vote and gave this a try. I love it. It does a great job. I am a woman over age 50 and this is wonderful, light and very easy to use. The best thing about owning this power shovel is it really does work and it does a great job. I will highly recommend this product to Women. BUY IT, YOU WILL LOVE IT.

  1. After dark, I absolutely love this product. The very first day we used it, I noticed that we could actually be outside by the pool and not get eaten alive.

During dusk is a different story. Whenever the sun is up, this product does not attract the mosquitoes. I don't know if the octenol just isn't working, if it's just my area, or what. If you live in Florida and the sun is currently up until 8:30 pm, then this is a big deal. My wife likes to sit on the porch swing between 6:30 and 7:30. The Flowtron will not get the bugs at this time of the day. Around 8:15 as it gets darker, the bug machine gets very active and they leave us alone.

If you live in another part of the country where the sun goes down sooner, this will not be an issue for those of you wanting to use it after work. After dark, it's great.

  2. This is an excelent unit, it self cleans itself, unlike another brand unit that is sold by Walmart, Home Depot, Lowes etc. that plugged up with dead bugs in a couple of days. This unit may need a little cleaning in 3 or 4 weeks. The one thing that the other brand had, that was very nice, was a slide cover over a sensor that could let the unit turn off during daylight,if desired. I ordered this bug killer after purchasing the other brand, which I quickly returned after seeing it's design flaw. I have also had an older FLOWTRON smaller unit for about 20 years which is still working well with the original bulb and killing bugs just as well as this new unit. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE FLOWTRON BRAND BUG KILLERS.

  3. product works as advertized but the unit i bought several years ago had a much longer power cord and all my mounting hardware was set up for that unit. i had to replace the cord with the one from my old unit. at the price they get for this unit you would think shortening this cord by eight inches is not justifed. i guess for first time buyers they would not encounter this problem.

  4. This is a good product for the money, although this was purchased as a replacement for the same exact model. The last one we had lasted 1 1/2 seasons before it stopped working (running 10 hours/night for 4 months). Will use the new bulbs in this one to see if the problem was the bulbs burning out or some other part that stopped working in the last one before ordering new parts and paying for shipping!

  5. Oh my doG, it kills "Japanese" (aka European) hornets!
'nuff said. This unit is awesome.

  1. I purchased this trimmer to cut creeping fig that grows up and over my cinder block walls. It has never been trimmed so you can imagine the state it was in. I took the trimmer out of the box and it never got stuck. I'm glad I didn't get the 24", in tight spots it would have been a problem.

  2. the handle provides multiple hand positioning while cutting either horizontal or verticle. nicely made and thought out product, much better balance than previous style cutters. lots of power!!!

  3. The trigger lock can be difficult to engage; otherwise, it is perfect for trimming the bushes in our yard.

  4. I should have bought this a long time ago, instead of suffering with hand clippers all these years. It definitly does the job, lots of power and low vibration.I have 3 different type shrubs I used it on, plus a 6ft ficus tree and a 8ft citrus tree.It trimmed all of them with no problems. Some of the citrus branches where over 1/2 in. thick, and it went right through them. Cut my work time by more than half. Great product.

5 comments about Black & Decker Replacement Spool Cap and Spring for AFS Trimmer #RC-100-P.
  1. I love the new cap.
much better than the other one it came with.
its made much sturdier than original.
    Great price too.

  2. I had been digging, locally, trying to find someplace I could buy one of these. My trimmer is perfectly serviceable, other than the fact that this cap was wearing out. Plenty of places wanted to sell me another trimmer, instead of simply selling me the part I needed.

A couple weeks ago, I was using the trimmer and the original cap simply broke into about three pieces. It was no longer usable. I got serious in my search online for a replacement part. I was surprised to see that Amazon carried it.

It arrived promptly and I put it to work. I fit perfectly, as I expected it should. The trimmer is, now, almost as good as new (need to get some new "string" for it; when it gets too old, it starts to stick together on the spool).

Well worth the purchase. Can't really say if it is any more durable than the old one (it lasted multiple years), since I just got it.

  3. This item was not available in my local hardware, home improvement, or mega-store. It was wonderful to find it through Amazon.com. I purchased five (5) so I would have replacements if needed. Delivery was prompt and the items were as advertised.

  4. It is a simple product, and it was excatly the bkoken piece, it came quickly in perfect order, Thanks

  5. Replacement is better than original. Cap seems to be much "thicker". I did order two at the time but dont think the weed eater will out live the replacement cap this time. Or, always nice to have a back up.

5 comments about Black & Decker CPI100B 100 Watt Laptop Power To Go Cordless AC/USB Power Supply.
  1. As others have noted, this isn't necessarily meant to power your laptop. It can, if it doesn't drain more than 100 watts (80 watts continuous). I get an extra 45 - 60 mins out of it on my laptop. It is, however, great for charging cell phones, mp3 players, etc. I already have a smaller model that I use for that purpose. I'm actually using this thing to power an aerator in a bucket of water, to keep the fishing bait alive. Works all day without a problem. My father was complaining about only getting an electric, non-battery powered aerator, and I suggested we try this B&D battery. Works like a charm!

In a nutshell, this can be used with a laptop in a pinch. It works much better with lower drain devices, however. If you battery just died, and you need to get a document off of it ASAP, this little device may save the day. Need an extra 4+ hours of battery life on your laptop? This probably is NOT for you. Get a spare laptop battery that is made for your computer.

  2. charges ipods cell phones and the like no problem. I would never try to run a laptop or electrical appliance of off it.

  3. I purchased this device to power a low voltage digital music synthesizer for use on a trailer in a local parade. There was no room to use a generator. In tests this power supply was able to power this device for 1.25 hours before the battery level started to drop. The parade last 45 minutes so the power was more than adequate. This will be great to use for practicing where there is no electricity available. I recommend it highly.

  4. I bought two of these to extend the taping time for my camcorder. Rather than buy enough batteries specifically for my camcorder (at $56 each)to tape six hours worth of youth football I bought the Black and Decker 100 Watt Power to go. I actually bought two but I havent needed to open the second one because the first has performed so well. I have run a myriad of small items off of it so far and it has performed very well. It does get warm during use so make sure its out where it can breath. My only complaint is that the charge status lights do not give a good representation of when the battery will stop working. It could be still on four or five bars when it quits. It also takes several hours to reach full charge so be patient before you test it out.

Summary - For the low price and versatility I am very pleased with this product.

  5. It appears to charge itself, but it will only charge another device for about 5 minutes before dying. I need to return it. Do not recommend.

5 comments about Fiskars Telescoping Pruning Stik #9240.
  1. This is the best pruning device I have ever owned. The 12 foot reach is great and the piviting cutter makes it easy to handle high branches. With a 12 month growing season here in central Florida a tool like this is an absolute necessity

  2. excellent product, already done with winterizing trimming around the house, when I first pulled the cutting bowel and branch fell down, my wife instantly said " magic", that's how I felt, too. But then moving on to larger branch and switching to cutting saw and that's when problems occured, first the wing nut which were used to tighten and positioned the saw were being knocked off by the tree because of the push and pull motion; which un-screw the wing nut, went down and look for it, after finding it and tightening it up super tight, back to work and the extension poll fell out also caused by the push and pull motion, pick it up, slided it back in, tightening it up and figured out how the rope and jaw reacts to each other and did some adjustments, and it works fine ever since, I'd give it a 5 star if not because it took me 30 minutes to find things and fixed and adjusted it the first time I've used it, other than that, it's a great helper to make things possible.

  3. This pole pruner performs very well, the ability to rotate the head (easily cutting branches at different angles) was one of the main reasons for the purchase. The second reason was the simple/clever design on the cutting and handling (no additional rope to pull/to mess with) I wouldn't like to push it's cutting ability more than 1 1/4" inches, so I would definitely recommend people not to push it above/or at 1 1/4" inches. I haven't had the chance to use the saw head/blade setup. I was pleasantly surprised how light it is; this will reduce the hand/neck ache that can go along with trimming trees

I noticed that some reviewers mentioned that the packaging was poor (it still is - as of August 2008), this is an understatement; I was lucky that the pruner wasn't damaged during shipment. It was `packed' if that is was they call it; wrapped would be a better description, wrapped in a single sheet of thin cardboard. This type of item needs to be shipped in a cylinder/tube box or at least a box that will support/cover the whole item. The packaging that was used wouldn't protect the pruner from anything other that dust! It is amazing that the item wasn't bend/twisted/dented etc. Now saying all of that, if it gets to you without being damaged you will enjoy using this pruner, hence the 5 stars

  4. THIS IS THE TOOL THAT SAVED MY ARMS AND BACK. IT'S SO EASY TO USE WITHOUT GOING UP A LADDER. HAVE PRUNED 1/3 MY PROPERTY ALREADY.

  5. Things to like:

    Not much.
It does not have the dangling rope and handle my old unit had.
The rotating head is useful sometimes.

    Things to dislike:

It does not have the power nor the longevity and strength of my old unit. (The old unit was purchased from Builder's Square many years ago. It was stolen, and I don't remember the brand name.)

Advertised - cuts up to 1-1/4 inch diameter. Well, yes if it is something very soft such as a vine stem. For oak, maple, hickory, 3/4 inch is about all it will manage.

Use: Both the head locking mechanism and the extension locking mechanism loosen up continuously. The saw attachment nut and bolt fell out and got lost almost immediately. They could have included a five-cent lock washer for that.

Longevity, strength: I used it for a couple of hours. The movable blade bent and the spring that retracts that blade snapped.

    [...]

I will try Lowe's or Home Depot for some other brand next time.
