  1. I returned this item the day I got it! It does not work. Not only would it not hold on to the weed but the workmanship building it was shoddy and dangerous. I got cut by a piece of metal sticking out of the handle. Everyone in the family tried to make it work and it wouldn't, not dandilions, crabgrass or even the asparagus plant we tried it on. Absolutely worthless. Do not waste your money!

  2. Both my mom and I have back problems and we both love to work in our gardens. The problem for both of us is the bending to pull weeds. This is the answer! It grabs onto and pulls the weeds with very little effort. It gets the root better than just pulling or using a garden fork. The only problem is that it does leave a hole where the weed was. I'd recommend this to anyone who anyone who gardens.

  3. The Rocket Weeder is a huge disappointment! I am 68, have a bad back and was hopeful that this was the answer to the bending in the garden. It really doesn't work, it doesn't go deep enough for one thing and when you step on the pedal it closes the claws and you come up with nothing. Maybe I'm doing it wrong but the instructions are sketchy.

  4. I was delighted with the performance of the tool - position it over the weed, step down on the pedal, then rock the pole back, and the weed comes right out. Beautiful! Easy! But it fell apart about the 5th or 6th time we used it in the flower bed, and it wasn't repairable. I felt sad, because it worked so well. I'm going to try the weed hound next.

  5. I purchased this for my daughter. She has a big side yard that "was" full of dandelions. She had been pulling them by hand and had filled 3 big black garbage bags full. She was pleasantly surprised when the Yard Butler
Rocket Weeder arrived. She says it does a wonderful job on the smaller dandelions and saves her back. It is a bit more difficult to extract the larger weeds, which she still pulls by hand, but on the whole she is pleased with it's performance.

  1. This is a good quality piece of kit. If you need to replace the chain on your chain saw then this is most definitely the one to get.
I personally don't own a chainsaw but I liked the look of it so much I bought a chain anyway. I wear it when I go out of an evening as an accessory. I've always been keen on piercings and other such metal implements that can be worn on the body so this was the perfect addition to my collection. It's long enough to reach down to the belly button ring which I use to stop it swaying about when I'm wearing it.
Anyway if you want this for your chain saw or just to look good. Buy this chain !

  2. If, like me, you've blunted your previous chain on cardboard cut-outs of the Hollyoaks cast, then you'll appreciate the relief of being able to easily acquire a replacement.
    Let the carnage continue...

2 comments about Composter: Original ComposTumbler.
  1. I have had one of these for 11 years now. I am about to have to take it apart and replace the door and door frame, as it is finally rusting out. It probably can turn a mixture of grass clippings, manure, and sawdust to compost in 2 weeks if you feed all the stuff through a shredder to break them up and mix them and the outside temperature is high. In practice I feed it grass clippings, mulched garden waste and leaves (with the mower), sawdust, and kitchen compost on a continuous basis. During peak growing season I probably get 2 months before it is full to overflowing with mostly composted material. I then empty 4 to 5 wheelbarrows of material into a stationary composter, where I let it age until the next growing season. The material from the tumbler is well mixed. Turning it is relatively easy as long as there is not too much snow and ice on it, which jams the gears. We are happy with it, but you have to have realistic expectations. If you are going to feed it cedar and brush trimmings, it is going to take much longer.

  2. Wanting to do something for the landfill AND ourselves, my husband and I ordered this composter. It DID take us a couple of hours to assemble (with breaks - it was still hot, here in Scottsdale, AZ!), but it came together beautifully, and over the next 2 days we loaded it up. Wow! The thing works like a champ! We had a bin for a few years, and a pile for a couple of years before that, but neither was good for us, as we're LAZY, and didn't take the time necessary for all that pitchforking. So, it would basically just turn dry and brown - and feed whatever roots were located directly under where the pile was. Not anymore! The composter is easy to turn, keeps things moist, and we are almost ready with our first batch in the advertised 2 weeks. We highly recommend this product.

The only caveat - this model is HUGE! And it needs to be at least 2/3 full to make compost as quickly as 2 weeks. We have a very large yard, so it wasn't a problem for us... but, if you have a normal sized yard I would check out a smaller model.

    Happy composting!
