- Can be placed in any type of mosquito killer or catcher. Just place anywhere that the air flows around it. This is the best buy with Amazon free shipping. (Other suppliers will charge shipping for each small package. It adds up.)
This may be smaller than your original cartridges. However, no matter how big a cartridge is, it can not last much longer. It is better to buy the cheapest cartridge and replace it more often. And Flowtron is a name brand, not some unknown manufacturer.
I keep 2 of these cartridges in each mosquito trap, as follows. Twice a month, the oldest cartridge is thrown out, the other is moved to the back, and a new one is placed in the front. In my experience, Octenol may be more significant for catching the mosquitos than CO2, LED lights, UV lights, etc.
NOTE: please hold your breath from the moment you open the package--place your mosquito trap away from where you sit or work--use gloves or be very careful not to touch the chemically infused areas. I doubt that anyone knows the long term risks of octenol. The smell is noticably noxious, sort of like moth balls, and labeled as dangerous.
- We live on 1/2 acre w/2 pools behind our house, so I purched the Flowtron Octenol Mosquito Attractant Cartridges for the Flowtron 80-Watt. This unit has performed wonderfully! Our family was tired of spraying w/a mosquito repellent just to go outside even for a brief moment w/out being swarmed by mosquitos so this was just what we needed. Best purchase for some relief. Higly Remommended!!
- This can get pretty expensive during the summer. You will go through one cartridge per week, so stock up if on sale.

5 comments about Black & Decker 18-Volt Cordless Electric Broom Hard Surface Sweeper #NS118.
- I've owned the Black & Decker 18-Volt Cordless Electric Broom for almost a month now and no complaints thus far. The charge does hold for a long time and the power is constant however it would be nice if it was more powerful but then again it's lightweight and priced reasonably.
- I bought this just under 2 years ago. It came with charger and 2 batteries.. It usually takes both batteries power to finish up whatever i'm doing.. I use this literally every day in my house! I have all tile floors and 5 cats. Cats tails are like dust mops, they bring in every small stick, leaf and every thing else and deposit it across the floor. One fo the first things I do everyday is open the front door and blow out every damn thing they dragged in.
Sadly with time the batteries were lasting less and less time. I charge them every day then store them in a drawer (not the hot garage) butthey've totaly quit charging now. So I'll try to replace the batteries.. I'm not even sure if I need a new charger too... I'm disappointed these batteries wore out so quickly. 'that's too big an expense to replace so often.
As for the blower itself it is very light weight and easy to use.
- I purchased the B&D Cordless Electric Broom after having great experience with the B&D Grass Hog 18V cordless String Trimmer. The latter has performed very well but the former has greatly disappointed.
The B&D Electric Broom, as a very light duty broom replacement, is marginally adequete when brand new, with a new, fully charged battery. Unfortunately, the honeymoon period is very short. A very noticeable decline in usable runtime inspite of carefully following the typical NiCd, full discharge before charging, regimen. In a few months time of fairly infrequent use and, despite doing everything possible to maximize battery life, the battery's performance declines to a point of needing replacement. Given the marginal "broom" performance and the cost/life cycle of replacement batteries, it is very hard to justify a continued relationship with something I typically only use to blow out the garage with.
I begrudgingly give the B&D Cordless Broom a two star rating only because it's not the absolutely worst product I've ever had BUT BEWARE of the issues I've included in this review and know up front that while it will blow out birthday candles it can't be seen as an alternative to a regular corded or gas powered blower. I use my Toro Ultra for any serious blowing and have had great luck with past Toro Blowers over many years as well.
- I just got my cordless broom tonight in the mail. I also own the Black and Decker cordless electric trimmer which came with two batteries that also fit this item. So I was up and running in a few seconds after unpacking. I didn't have big expectations for this after reading the reviews, but I've been so satisfied with my other Black and Decker cordless products, I decided to give it a try. I have two huge evergreens near the side of my house which leave a lot of needles and other debris on my porch. Of course, I could sweep (which I do about five times a season), but that means moving all the big pots, my grill, tables, etc to get in between. This blows sweeping away! So right off the start, I know I've gotten my money's worth. Next, I'll be cleaning the leaves out of my garage that accumulate there every year. Man, I love B&D cordless products - I first started with a cordless electric lawn mower about ten years ago, and it's still going!! Thank you B&D...and if you ever need a poster child for your products, I'm your woman!
- This 'broom' works great for about 30 minutes. Then pretty much runs out of steam. I was expecting more given the large battery

5 comments about Toro Ultra 12 Amp Electric Blower/Vacuum #51599.
- I have had my Toro Ultra 12 amp blower/vacuum for one month and have used it weekly to clear leaves and grass off my walks, deck and driveway after mowing the yard as well as to clean the garage floor. I find it light weight and easy to use. The blower functions extremely well. The vacuum is fine for grass and leaves, it's not really a replacement for a shop vac, but does light jobs quite well. Converting from blower to vacuum is easy. A very nice product at a reasonable price. I wish that I had bought it sooner and recommend it without reservation.
- Toro Ultra 12 Amp Electric Blower/Vacuum #51599]] works better than any gas blower on the market just takes patience to un ravel the electric cord and plug it in and with a cord it has limited distance other tha that its great
- This is a very powerful blower. I like the variable blower option. I bought it primarily for the vac feature, but have not yet had an opportunity to use it as such. This is replacing a Toro unit that I have had for years. If this is half as reliable, I will get 10 years out of it. Much better alternative that a gas blower for reliability if you can deal with the cord. Beats pre-mix. So far, I am very happy with the unit.
- Does exactly what it says. The blower feature is much more powerful and generally useful than the vacuum, but it is nice to have the option.
- I bought this blower after much research. It was well worth it. This blower is straightforward and simple right out of the box. In 5 minutes I was out blowing lawn clippings. It is much quieter than my neighbors gas model and I don't stink like a mix of gas and oil when I'm done. Just make sure you use a heavy gauge extension cable to make the most out of it. I use a 14 gauge 100ft one. The throttle control is great considering it is a knob you turn to dial in just the right amount of air you need. At the highest setting there is some pull but nothing like any other I have used. Solid feel and Toro reliability. Light enough for wife to use on the patio. I haven't used the vacuum on it but will this fall. I have now bought 3 of these so far. One for myself and two for family who fell in love with it after they saw mine. Another great Toro product.

5 comments about Flowtron BK-80D 80-Watt, 1-1/2-Acre Electronic Insect Killer.
- I did my homework before I purchased the Flowtron, looking into devices that used propane which is thought to generate the "ultimate lure". While these expensive units seem like the ideal solution reading reviews on these killing machines changed my mind. First off, while they are very effective when new, they don't stay that way and don't seem to hold up, and for $500 a pop they should have a long life. But that is only the beginning, with the high cost of propane today combined with an intensive maintance factor I settled on the Flowtron. It is extreemly effective and so far the only negative is the hundreds of dead insects that have to be cleaned every day. I would highly recommend the 80 watt model and I just leave it on all the time. Best of all I can now eat outdoors on my patio without being bothered by the flying pests.

- I had a flowtron many years ago. When the bulb burned out after at least five years of use, I had difficulty finding replacement bulbs and could not find a way to even get the bulbs out I think it was an older model that needed to be taken apart. So I unfortunately bought the stingers because they were at the local hardware store at the end of last year. I stored them in the garage through the winter. When I put new bulbs in this spring neither worked. I needed these!!! and bought two more this spring. One still works but is clogged every couple of days. And I have to replace bulbs every month. The other no longer works. They just hang in rather protected areas. What is with the stingers????
- I live on an island in a Louisiana Lake. From sundown to about 10:30 PM, the mosquitoes are "horrendous". I usually have 4 "bug lights" going at once. They are all Flowtrons, due to the better grid system. I have tried Stingers, but the grids "stop up" due to the bugs not falling free from the grid.
Over the past 20 years, I have bought about 15 "bug lights". Sears( probably made by Flowtron), Stinger, and Flowtron. The Sears and Flowtron are the best, due to the grid system. I have one Sears light that after 10 yrs is still going strong, it really "zaps" the bugs and NEVER chokes down. The transformer puts out 5600 volts and 9 ma. Most bug lights now days only put out around 4000 volts.
Flowtron's main problem is the weak transformer, it is weak in that it does not have a high enough voltage, and it "burns out" easily. I actually buy Stingers to take the transformers out and put them in my Flowtrons. In the past, you could get parts (transformers) from Sears, but, they do not sell the zappers any more. I can not find a source for the 5600 volt transformer either.
Anyway, Flowtron, with weak transformer, is still the best we have...
- This zapper is incredible. I had some trepidation because I read zappers aren't very effective with regard to mosquitos but this one certainly is. It kills hundreds of bugs each night and they drop effortlessly through the bottom. A well-made, well-designed product that gets results.
- This product works very well. After reading reviews, I decided on the 80 watt vs a smaller model, because our yard sits in the middle of 60 acres of pastureland. Grasshoppers have a hard time getting into the middle, although very attracted to it. But if they make their way in, they do fry! Has really reduced the insect population in the evenings.

5 comments about Worx GT 10-Inch 18-Volt Cordless Electric String Trimmer/Edger #WG150.
- The Worx GT is my birthday present to myself & I am very happy with it. Simple to use, powerful, lightweight, and uses no gas and has no cord to limit mobility or range. It's the bomb!
- I was a little leary about purchasing one of those "as seen on t.v." lawn tools, but this little number really packs a punch! The battery lasts a long time too! The multiple direction handle really helps with tight places-- though I haven't gotten the complete hang of the edging feature just yet. Great product and I feel worth the price.
- This product is GREAT, light weight, good for the enviroment, easy to use, no cumberson cords, on gas emmisions Everyone should use this esp for a small area heavy weeds and tall grass. I also use a reel mower so betewwn the both I save a lot on gas I do have a small yard so that makes it even better
- The Worx trimmer is light weight, telescopes, swivels, and would be an awesome trimmer if it just had power. This trimmer is a gutless wonder and I don't recommend it even to the light user! I mow every 4 days so my trimming is not overgrown! I think a weed w/ a heavy stem would stop it in it's tracks. It couldn't even handle a little grass and as a edger was even worse. I'm so disappointed; don't buy it.
- okay, i just got my worx yesterday. i have been using gas trimmers for years. i bought a homelite weed wacker last year,i paid 135 for it,i have had nothinng but probs with gas one, so i decided to give this one a try. i was impressed with it. i was able to do my whole lot yesterday.(110X 165) i got a lot of work done with it was able to weed eat the whole yard, edge it. and still had battery left. i like the way it can easily turn from weed eater to edger. in a couple off seconds, as far as string binding up i had no probs with it. like the adjustments to it. so if you are needing one buy this one. i didnt even need a 2nd batter like suggested. i am very please with it. no more calaises on my fingers from pulling the cord....... and saving money on high gas prices.

5 comments about Flowtron Model BK-40D Electronic Insect Killer (One Acre Coverage).
- Love this thing. Nothing more satisfying than the sound "Zzzzzzzz" of another fly meeting its end. Highly recommended - One weekend we were eating on our Patio and flies were constantly landing on our food etc. After hanging this thing the flies are a thing of the past. ZZZZZZZZZZ
- This is the 4th Bug Zapper I've owned in the last year. My previous zappers were all Stingers with mixed results. The Flowtron is by far the best Bug Zapper I have seen yet. It does a heck of a job and is able to get the bigger bugs too, because of the larger openings. The electric grid is much sturdier and larger than the comparably priced Stinger. I have this Flowtron on for about 1.5 to 2 hours a night while outside. It is killing like crazy from the time I plug it in, until I unplug it. You will not be disappointed in this product. It is an excellent choice for killing insects.

- I bought this product, skeptical that it would live up to my expectations. It not only lived up to them, but surpassed them! This insect killer works awesome! I haven't been bit by a mosquito since we put it up in the yard. (And we have 1/2 acre of land!) I would definitely recommend it to anyone!
- We live in S.E. Wisconsin where the mosquito's are the state bird, at least the last few years so obviously i got this Flowtron BK-40D to try and knock down the population, at least in our yard.
I was apprehensive due to a couple of reviews that claimed it dosn't kill mosquito's..let me tell you IT DOES KILL MOSQUITOS...BY THE THOUSANDS! After the first couple nights I had to blow the element off with compressed air because there were so many dead mosquitos on it..piles!!
I don't see how anyone can claim that it dosn't lure them.
Don't let me kid you, we do still have mosquito's in the yard, but it dosn't seem as bad it other places I've been without it.
It kills anything drawn to light at night...not very effective during the day...the only downside is that it is a bit noisy, the dogs are afraid of the snaps so I turn it off when I let them out...put it on a timer to go on at dusk, you'll be happy at the results.
A great item at such a low price, PLUS free shipping!!??It's worth a shot.
- This thing works great. Nothing like sitting with a six pack and watching wings getting fried!!!!!

5 comments about Black & Decker AF-100-3ZP Replacement Spool-3 Pack.
- Replacement spools work pretty good-- Three pack is the way to go. Not using my gas to pick up items at Sears Hardware is a real big plus!
- Perfect replacement for a hard-to-find item. I was unable to locate these replacement spools for my older model Grass Hog, so I was very pleased to find them here. Factory wrapped and first quality product. Dropped one in and was back in business within minutes.
- Haven't used them yet. Bought them as extra's for my Black and Decker Cordless string trimmer. It is the same string that is in it and it is lasting very long. Imagine I will be very satisfied.
- To those who need spool, 3 pack saves money and easy to store. Never again will I buy just 1.
- I purchased these as back-up for when the line in the weed wacker runs out. As of yet I have not needed to use them, so I can not give any kind of review on them. I did how ever feel that the price was reasonable.

5 comments about Black & Decker 18-Volt Cordless Electric 12-Inch Grass Hog String Trimmer/Edger #NST2018.
- My yard is quite small, and I cut the whole thing with cordless trimmers. As the Ryobi began to age, I got a 12-volt Grass Hog. It proved particularly good at cutting the thick Zoysia grass that I planted in desperation in the front yard.
When the Ryobi died, I went looking for another Grass Hog. The 12-volt model was sold out, and would have cost more, so I picked up the 18-volt. It's nice to have two batteries, but they are NiCads. That means they have a "memory". The second battery is useless in this context, because you really need to drain the battery to retain its charging capacity. It takes 9 hours to charge a battery.
When I start out, this model has lots of zip, perhaps too much. By the end, it's barely cutting. The cut is not as even, and it won't do my whole front yard.
Fortunately, I still have the 12-volt to finish up. Its lead-acid battery is not damaged by partial drain. I highly recommend the 12-volt system over this one. It starts out cutting more evenly, and stays at roughly that level longer.
- Three times around the yard now (about 4000 sq.ft. total continuous usage) and is still good on original 1st charge. I wouldn't trade this for five gas edgers. It's light, FAST and easy to balance. Great to have second battery as well. I'm very pleased.
- I bought this product in the last week and have used it twice since then.
It comes with two identical batteries. At first I was suspicious about the battery life - why include two, unless one won't last? Fortunately, that wasn't entirely the case. Each lasted at least a good 20 mins (that's about as much edging/trimming as I needed to do). Over time I could expect the battery life to decrease, and other people might have larger yards. So I could see why they included two. But I still would have expected a bit longer life out of just one. After all it's not a very small/light battery in the first place. Charging takes a good 9 hours as the instructions say. I can't say anything about the long-term life yet.
Performance was adequate, but not stellar. It'll whip through the average blades of grass without problem, but don't expect it to do much on low-lying weeds or thicker plants. Several passes or very slow movement will be needed to get the full result. It's a little on the heavy side to be carrying around for very long. The front handle helps a bit, but I got fatigued after my 20 minute run.
Usage instructions are lacking. The battery charger has a thorough instruction sheet, but the product itself does not. It's all done in a few small pictures - most likely to bridge the language barrier. But those pictures are vague at best. I had to figure it out by trial and error. The adjustment to go from "edging" to "trimming" was nice and convenient with a twist of the shaft.
As with most devices of the kind, you shouldn't be trimming with exposed skin or without eye protection. Debris has a tendency to go flying out of this thing, based on the mere nature of what it's doing. I noticed a few other reviewers got some injuries, which I don't understand. Hello?!?! You're holding a device that's whipping a cord around at a high RPM, with it impacting small stones & pieces of brush. Wear pants and keep the kids away!
If you have a small suburban yard that requires light to moderate work once a week like I do, you should have no trouble with this product. Anybody else should look elsewhere.
- Does a good job as a trimmer and edger. Light weight makes it easy to handle. Battery doesn't last as long as I would like, however, with the two batteries supplied I am able to finish my yard.
- I bought this hoping to replace an old corded trimmer, but the Grass Hog just did not have the juice to do the job. The batteries take 9 hours to charge! I have never heard of a rechargeable battery taking 9 hours, but that is what the instructions say, and the instructions were accurate. The 2 batteries combined could not trim our .2 acre yard. You will be lucky to run the trimmer for 10 minutes per battery, then you get to wait for another 9 hours to have a charged battey. I returned mine and will buy a new corded trimmer so I can do the entire yard in one day.

5 comments about Contech Electronics Scarecrow Motion-Activated Sprinkler #CRO101.
- The Scarecrow actually works. It really panics the fawns and the mothers follow the dash back into the woods.
- We've been finding some dog or cat poop in our yard so we decided to try this device. The Scarecrow is fairly easy to set up and connect, and with a couple of tests we had adjusted the spray angle and sensitivity.
A couple of problems we've ran into:
1) With the sensitivity set at a fairly normal level, on a hot day the thing seems to activate very often with no animal present. As a result, we used up 1 9-volt battery after only a week or two. Until I get rechargeable batteries, I've decided to only turn it on at night.
2) The angle for the motion detection is not all that great. As a result we can't actually cover our whole yard (which is pretty durn small) using just one device. We did find one dog/cat poop, but at a different location then where we found them before, so it is "working", but not quite accomplishing what we wanted.
- This item was the final solution keeping predators from my Koi Pond.
Worked better than I hoped. Excellent Product.
- Product works as advertised, no problems so far. I have not had any deer or other critters in the garden since I installed them. I would give 5 stars if it had an option to use as a sprinkler.
- After dear ravaged my vegetable garden (didn't know they like jalopeno peppers) I put up 7' fencing, yeah, like that stopped them! They just mowed it down and continued to enjoy my banner year of peppers. I was desprite and bought this locally - this price is far better, but I couldn't wait another night, it was that bad. The first morning after I used it there was signs of water all over the place and my fencing was intact and they haven't been back. No chemicals and simple to use. As for the "fun" part - I didn't realize that my neighbors son who parks his car on the other side of my fence was in sensing range and he got a surprise one morning when he went to get in his car! He laughed and just said it was "refreshing"! Wish I had been there to see it - LOL!!!!
