2 comments about Applied Strength of Materials (4th Edition).
- The book was very helpful on grasping the understandig of strenght of materials, but if had the option of having a solutions manual to know whether I had worked the problems out corretly I would have capitalized on it. The book was laid out well and had easy to follw examples.
If there is a solutions manual available or perhaps a study guide I would be intersted in obtaining one.

- If you are not using this book at your school demand that they start using it. Easy to use, read and study from. It's also a great primer for learning how to use books like Marks Standard Handbook for Mechanical Engineers.

3 comments about Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technology: Concepts, Procedures, and Troubleshooting Techniques.
- it is a great reference for any expert as well it is the source for technical information for the keen novice it's simplicity to explain each section of HVAC systems, theory and application makes this book a grteat source for learning students, to enhance their ability to deal with complex applications, techniques and easy procedure to service such systems
- This book is a good field manual for service technicians and
for apprentices. Ive been doing HVAC for 20 years and found techniques that could be used as a refresher for journeymen or a begginner. Its not as in dept as a Roy Dossat Principles of Refrigeration but works well for people who are in the service end of the bussiness.

4 comments about Machining Fundamentals: From Basic to Advanced Techniques.
- Dear: Mr. Walker I am an instructor of Machining Technology and have used and studied your textbooks for a long time I wish to complimnet you on the latest edition of machining fundamentals, the text is super with the color illistrations and layout this was exactly what I was looking for in a textbook. the student workbook is also of good quality. however the instructors guide is beyond compare it is one of the best instructors guides that I have ever seen including the masters. the only complant that I have is with the testing software it is far better than nothing but is far below what I would have expected from you. you could have at least made it a Windows based program that is more user frendly and flexable for the instructor to use and edit to their pacific needs. Their is too many limits on the abilities of the software to use fonts, printers, layout of the test.ect. What I would like to see in the future editions is an improvement on the software maybe even include the text, illistrations, text questions, and a lot more project prints that relate to the text and program that will allow the students to be more compedent in the shop. Thank you for your time and effort. Thomas C. Leckey
- An easy to understand basic machining book. Good for introducing the various types of machines and associated tooling. Written for the classroom, with questions at the end of each chapter to reinforce what you have read. No techniques or how to stuff.
- This is an excellent resource for someone who is just getting into machining work. I come from a CAD design background and wanted to know more about the actual processes of production, as well as tools used, etc. The book does a really solid job of covering everything from the proper use of a hammer to giving an overview of modern "high-tech" machining processes using lasers, water saws and so on. Many pictures and exceptional diagrams help to explain the text quite clearly. Done in textbook format with questions at the end of each chapter. It should be noted that while this is an overview of an immense amount of information, I though it did a pretty good job of being detailed and thorough on each subject.
- This book is well-written, and does not waste the reader's time with useless, off-topic, or wordy writing. John Walker does an excellent job explaining different machines and processes as well as what items may be produces from those machines and processes. Very worthy reading or reference material.

- I have been in the Hvac trade for years, this book has become my Hvac bible. alot of books cover theory on equipment that is obsolete and dont give you you specific info, this book is on the mark for everything an HVAC tech needs in the field. I recommend this book to all who are in the trade.
