5 comments about Fiskars PowerTooth 6-Inch Pruning Saw with Belt Clip #9259.
- This is the best little saw I have ever used.
It is sharp as the dickens and retracts to stash in my hip pocket.
Sooo nice. I lost mine so I am buying a couple more befor Fiskars looses its' mind and discontinues it
- I recently came home to several fallen branches. I was able to cut through 4" wide branches with incredible ease and speed. Fantastic!
- Friends and I do a lot of clearing trail in the forest and have tried different small saws, all of us agree this is the best one we have EVER come across. It cuts quickly and smoothly, stays sharp a long time. We have used it not only to cut branches, but downed trees that are wider then the saw is long. Doesn't take long with this little saw.
- This saw is great for backpacking. It's really light and cuts through wood faster than any other saw I have used. It's light enough that I take it on day hikes in case of emergency. I have cut through logs bigger than the length of the blade in about 5 minutes.
- i primarily bght this based on the reviews. where were they coming from i ask after seeing this cheap, flimsy, overpriced excuse for a saw. the one for ten bucks at harbor freight would be the better buy, i shoulda stuck with that.
this has a very light plastic handle with a screw knob to tighten the extended blade. the blade will not extend with the belt clip in. a rather foolish design element, not to mention the belt attachment easily comes off the knife...and there would go the saw, lost in the woods.
i feel rather ripped off in quality and price (having paid 12.10). imagine how bad you would feel at paying more. this thing at best is worth only ten bucks, and that is iffy. small priced things as this is not worth sending back, but i would never have bought this had i actually seen and held it.

5 comments about Gerber 06069 Folding Gator Knife - Clip Point, Fine - Box.
- I first became acquainted with Gerber knives in the 70's when I joined the 82nd Airborne Division. Every paratrooper in sight carried a Gerber survival knife. I've been a fan of Gerber ever since. I have owned many other brands of knives, but never found one to match the Gerbers in quality or craftsmanship. The Gator knife is the latest addition to my collection, and is my favorite hunting knife. Hones razor sharp and holds its edge. Extremely comfortable and easy to use, even with a wet handle. You won't be disappointed with this one
- Gerber (A Fiskars Company) put out some of the best knives for the money in the market. Fiskars is my favorite scissors company and everything I've used of their stuff is top notch - so this is a good combo.
I have this knife in the partially serrated version. It is 8.75" long when open, 5" when closed, and the blade is 3.75". If you have the serrated model, the first 1.5" is serrated. The remaining smooth blade hones nicely and stays sharp. Gerber 650 &Portland, OR U.S.A are printed on either side of the blade.
The grip is exceptional. The Kraton handle is very tough and offers superior traction and grip with it's rubbery feeling alligator finish. It has a notch for the index finger and the butt curves down to fit your other fingers very comfortably. It feels like a part of your hand when you hold it and is balanced nicely for a folder. It simply stays in your hand when you want it there.
The lock is solid with a lever-lock cog/pin system in the backside. The cordura/nylon belt sheath has a velcro closure that has some adjustability to it. Mine is several years old now and I still love this knife. For this price, it's an amazing buy. There are knives that cost 3 or 4 times as much that don't feel nearly as good. The steel could be a little harder, but it holds its edge admirably.
They came out with this over a decade ago and you can still find it and it's popular. I think that says a lot. I haven't used the ones with the hook point (sinew cutter for hunting, cutting rope etc.) but they seem virtually identical.
The only thing this knife is missing is an ambidextrous notch for quick opening. I give it 4.5 stars, rounding up for price/performance ratio and fantastic quality and grip.
- Excellent knife,The best pocket knife I have owed. Well made. Solid. Another great Gerber product.
- I had this knife on my belt everyday for 3 months. I used it frequently to cut rope, vines, sharpen sticks, etc. It was a great knife and I even worked it enough where I could flip the blade open one-handed. Then I dropped it onto a 2x4 from waist high, and the tip of the blade broke off, half an inch worth, rendering it mostly useless. I have not bought a Gerber since. If you want a multi-tool, Gerber is a good option, but if you want a trustworthy knife, I'd look at Spyderco or maybe a Kershaw.
- I actually bought this knife for my husband, who lost one just like it on a job site. He says it's the best knife there is.

5 comments about Denali 3- by 36-Inch Medium Duty Bar Clamp, 2-pack.
- these are pretty solid, and heavy clamps, given I already have a pair of pipe clamps I probably should have ordered this with the quick release pistol grip clamps vs this type, seems kind of overkill
- I had previously bought a shorter version of this clamp and was happy with the results so I thought I'd try the 36" style for some slightly larger products. They work incredibly well and can be moved into and out of place with ease. The pads also prevent any damage being done to wood being held by the clamp itself. Any version of this clamp from Denali is highly recommended.
- A very impressive clamp, I especially like how it's heavy duty construction is built to take abuse and how it should provide many years of use. It's a simple basic tool and its only requirement is to clamp pieces together and not break in the process, this it does well and so far I have no complaints.
- I have a number of Harbor Frieght clamps and didn't realize how light duty they were, until these arrived. At about 10 lbs these are built stong.
- Catch these on special through Amazon and you'll have yourself a great set of clamps at a great price. I bought 2 of the 36 inch and 2 of the 24 inch and wish I had bought twice that at the time. A great value and more than serviceable for the weekend woodworker.

5 comments about Virutex C015L Portable Handheld Plastic Laminate Slitter.
- Boy, do I wish I had bought this thing about ten years ago. I don't do a lot of laminate work, but when I did, I was cutting strips on the table saw. If you've ever tried that, I need say no more. This little tool does exactly what it's meant to do, and it's easy to use. Even if you only do two or three laminate jobs a year, buy this.
- Years ago I used and older version of this product. I've always wanted a newer one after going into business for myself. This saves so much valuable time in preparing trim and small laminate applications. I'm really happy with my selection and purchase price.
- Im not an expert at laminating. This is only my third time installing laminate. But I can tell you this, the Virutex tool cut my installation time by 50%. Just like the other review states, its not the large pieces that are hard to cut its the thin narrow ones. This tool is definitely worth every penny spent. Amazon once again had the best price @ I received my purchase in 4 days with no problems
- I bought this for onsite refacing of formica, It was awsome. it leaves nice clean accurate edged with little filing left to do.
- If you do any laminate work at all, you gotta have this tool!
This is the one tool that pays for itself through saved time of having to manually cut each edge of laminate sheet. I have owned several of these slitters through the years in my countertop business and can tell you that they are very reliable. The only maintenence required is to change the 2 cutter blades every 3-4 years. Highly Recommend!

5 comments about Sonin DT110 Inchmate Measurement Conversion Calculator.
- Good construction Calutator at a good price. I know a person who paid over $50 for a construction calculator at Home Depot. I don't know what extra special functions that one has over mine but we do the same job and my calculator handles it fine. And it does the job just as fast. My only complaint is that you have to hold the function button in order to save a value to memory. It's just a little thing that shouldn't bother most people. I like the sliding protective case. And there's a place for you to write your name on the case so you can spot yours from a distance.
- As an architect, this calculator is great for everyday use. It's simple, inexpensive, and easy to use.
- This is a very nice calc for anyone who constantly measures using feet/ inches. Kind of tricky due to the function keys you have to push to program fractions but once you get use to it, its a snap. If you are in the architectural field, construction or just doing a home improvement and you find yourself having to add and subtract fractions constantly, just buy this! It will save you some time as opposed to adding and subtracting common denominators.
- this calculator is the easiest to learn and to use great for carpenters
and all other trades.
- Coming from a country that uses Metric, I purchased this as some of my woodworking plans come in Imperial measurement, and its handy to have a calculator that can convert between the two measurement types on the fly. This calculator will do that just fine. The only gripe is that entry and conversion could perhaps be a little more intuitive. It is a bit fiddly in some regards but it does get the job done.

4 comments about GB SE-92 Strip Easy 8 Gauge to 22 Gauge Automatic Wire Stripper.
- This stripper is very good to use. I've been using it for years in the industrial work area. Clean cut, rarely nicked the wires. Or maybe it was just me :)
- Seems like every tool has a built-in wire stripper these days. Crimpers and pliers, I even have a pair of scissors with one. And they're all pretty crummy strippers, too.
This tool does one thing, and it does it very well. It can strip a wire using only one hand, so your other hand can hold the wire. After the cut, it flicks off the insulation in one smooth motion, which eliminates wrestling with the wire to get the tip off.
It also has a very wide range of gauges that it can do, and it is easy to compare the wire tip with the holes to find the right one. For example, sometimes a 18 gauge stranded wire is "fluffier" than usual, and needs the 16 gauge hole. Even if you guess wrong and use the larger hole, it is easy to put the wire back in and do it again one smaller.
There is one disadvantage, which is that it flicks the insulation end off onto the floor. This is kind of fun while you're doing it, but then you'll end up crouching down and trying to find them after it is over (or vacuuming, if you've been doing a bunch of them). I used mine to strip a bunch of wires for a car alarm, and had little multicolored tips all over the parking lot when I was done.
Sean P. Logue, 2007
- Have used the wire stripper a few times. Am happy with it for the price I paid. It could use some design improvements. The lever that opens the cutting blade seems out of place. To use the tool, I usually must open the cutting blade with my other hand before placing the tool on the wire. Would probably select another brand if I know this issue existed, but not sure which brand would work better.
- quick shipment, item works well, but needs lots of hand power. Caution: carpal tunnel syndrome.
