- I just can't get the hang of this thing. At first, when I tried to change the blade it just spit them out on the ground. Now it won't change blades at all. It's also dirty from use, and I think that's jammed up the mechanism. So, for around the house use, it may be great. But on a worksite, I'm not so sure. Maybe I'll clean it well and WD-40 the heck out of it and see.
Also, because it's so fat at the cutting end, it's difficult to use a level as a cutting guide; you need to use a thin ruler or similar.
I prefer my little foldable utility knife; blade changes also don't require a screwdriver and are fast. And it's much smaller. If it only had blade storage, it would be perfect.
- I use this for cutting up boxes while working at the local library. I like the large handle. Some of the 'ordinary' cutters I have used tend to stick when sliding the blade in and out. As a result, I often leave the blade exposed when not using the knife. This one works easily, so I am more likely to retract the blade before setting it down.
Changing blades is quick and easy. I haven't found an easy way to simply switch ends on a blade, so I may end up not using one end of a blade.
- I bought one of these about 2 to 3 years ago and I use it every day to cut open boxes. It has been used hard and abused. I dropped it one day and it fell right on the open blade on a concrete floor. The blade no longer locked open, so I took it apart and tried to fix it. Unfortunately there is a small tab that broke off that I could not fix. So I order 3 more to replace it (we like them that much). When they came in I noticed that they had a LIFETIME WARRANTY. So I figured what the heck I would send it in and see if they would cover it ( I was not expecting it to be covered considering to take it apart you must cut the rubber backing and it was really BEAT UP )
Well today I just got a package in the mail. They sent me a brand new one. I could not believe that they covered the abuse that we put it through. I will definitely buy from Alltrade again.
The only thing that keeps this from getting 5 Stars is that some times when you are cutting something hard and you push the release button the blade will retract. So you just have to get used to holding it with out hitting it.
- I've abused this thing every way that I can, and like a Timex, it takes a licking and keeps on ticking! Works great and is easy and safe to use.
- I'm just a homeowner and not a professional but I'm hard on my utility knives. I drop 'em. I break 'em. I lose 'em. I jam 'em. This is the first one that takes it all and just keeps ticking.
As others have pointed out, the blade is either retracted or fully-extended - there are no partially-extracted positions. So if you want a knife where you can extend the blade just an eighth inch this is not the one for you. But the action on the dollar knives that can do an eighth inch cut usually gets stuck after about a week anyway.
But it is sturdy, has blade storage (contrary to another reviewer - you can see the blade storage door in the picture), changing blades is screwless and very easy, the hard rubber makes it easy to hold securely and comfortably, and the 6 included blades are very sharp.
To me the best thing is the action - snap it open, snap it closed, put it in your pocket safely and pull it out next time you need it. Someone commented on the "close button" being tough to operate - if you gently squeeze the "open" lever while pushing the "close" button it works very smoothly.
I just need to spray-paint it RED so I don't lose it!

- No matter what your sex or hobby, this is one heck of a box of tools. My daughter tinkers and this is all the tools she needs. Great buy at a great price. This item is impossible to find in stores.
- This is a great product. The price was really good. It was just as it was discribed in it's ad. i highly reccomend this product to anyone looking
for this type of tool.
- the tool support (plastic) in the box is about as bad as it gets.
- I received this item today and I have 2 remarks. Like a previous reviewer said, the tool support is very bad and as shown in the product photograph, the blades section does not fit inside the lid. I will have to try and glue it to the lid. The second problem is that the hinges of box which I received were all broken. Other than these two issues, everything else were fine.

- This knife is a good size, and it comes with a good quality blade also. It will hold up to a lot of abuse.
- This knife feels good in your hand and the lever to extend the blade works very smoothly without hanging up. Nice and heavy duty too. Much recommended over the Stanley contractor's knife.
- For some reason or other utility knives have a problem staying home with me. I have always used another well known brand, but when time came to order some to replace my "wandering ones" - and going to Amazon to order, I saw the Irwin advertised and read a couple of the reviews. On the basis of ONE of the reviews, I ordered six of them - and am glad I did. What I had before came with only 1 blade, and you had to work to get the sides apart and back together. Not so with the Irwin. It came with 3 blades, well oiled, and was very easy to install one of them. Not only that, but the knife is slightly curved to give one more pressure and also, for me at least, a more accurate cut. I, like the other reviewer, highly recommend this utility knife.
- It works great but when I first got it I had some trouble putting the blade in. You need a screwdriver to open the case, take out one of the blades and put it in. A cheaper one might be preferable for some people.

5 comments about Stabila 25100 10-Inch Die-Cast Rare Earth Magnetic Level.
- These indestructible torpedo levels are the industry standard in the UK and much of Europe for people who erect Steel tube and clamp scaffolding. The magnets are strong enough to hold even on the curve of 2"OD pipe. Of course they work just fine on metal studding.
I've owned one of these for over a dozen years and use it frequently at work (in the motion picture industry.)
They are pricey enough that you do not want to leave them lying around a job site... but if you don't lose it, you will use it forever.
- I do not need the 30 or 45 degree bubble, so for me the Stabilla is better than the checkpoint in every aspect except for the need of a magnet on the end of the level, for when bending stubs in conduit.
- what to say about a torpedo level? strong magnets, accurrate and fits in my bags nice.
- A little pricy but it is a level that will last forever. Just dont leave it laying around.
- great little level. there is no comparison as far as craftsmanship and construction are concerned to the junk you'll find at your local warehouse. the magnets are extremely strong. i'll probably have this for the rest of my life

4 comments about SOG Specialty Knives FSA-7 Flash I.
- Overall it is a decent knife, however I notice that the hinge seems a little rough when closing. Also I have very large hands and some arthritis, and due to the small grip, I have trouble opening it with one hand. I think most users would be pleased with the operation of the knife and the workmanship.
- Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R3EVCQ3LCXY6UC In the field of daily carry knives, the SOG FLASH 1 is a fast, lightweight, well-built, and securely carried companion. I have many of these knives and have used them extensively for both duty and personal use. As my VIDEO shows, the FLASH 1's size is perfect as is the deep carry clip. Add its good quality AUS8 steel and most importantly it's feathery 1.2 oz weight (not 1.4 oz ike I said in video) and you have the near-perfect daily carry knife. For a knife you'll have on your person at ALL times to open packages, cut food, etc. it's my top recommendation.
- This knife makes a great, easy to use, utility tool. It's small size, easy opening, and sharp blade work well together to open envelopes, small packages, or wherever a smaller knife is needed or wanted for all kinds of tasks. The only negative is, when compared to the larger Flash II, you can see that the blade is noticibly thinner and therefore less robust, and of course the overall size limits its uses to those with smaller hands. Nevertheless, it's a great tool for the jobs for which it is designed. Overall it is well made and works very well.
- I read lots of knife reviews before choosing this one. I will probably still get a Benchmade Mini-Griptillian for a heavier duty knife, but this SOG is great for having a light-duty knife that is hardly noticeable in the pocket. It took a while to get the right grip down for quick deployment of the blade with one hand, since it is small, but after a little practice, it feels natural. The clip allows the knife to ride low in the pocket, which was an important factor for me. After a month of use, I can say it is the perfect size for the small cutting jobs I carry a knife for.

- I was pleased with the tools, purchased from Inland Hobby Tools. They arrived in 1 week and look to be almost identical to the picture.
- I bought this product to help me with sculpting clay babies and fairies. They have been wonderful! Makes great very small wrinkles.
- You could grind your screwdriver to a finer point than these. They appear to be re-ground from the original points they once had, or they were never Dental tools to begin with.
Very disappointed!

- I absolutely love this calculator. I used to do everything by hand trying to figure out my yardage and then add some for good measure. I usually always came up short somewhere and then couldn't find the fabric I needed later. This calculator certainly has made things easier and more accurate!

3 comments about SOG Specialty Knives E37T SEAL Pup Elite, Black TiNi.
- This is the best knive under 100 dollars ive had it for forever and you just cannot ruin or break it
- I love the outdoors(hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, scuba diving) just being away from city noise. The sog E37T pup elite is always at my side. It maybe alittle small for lager hands, but hence the name "pup". I consider my hands to be large and I have no problems or discomfort. Comes sharp and stays sharp. The blade is well balanced making it a joy to use. The black TiNi coating will chip but thats to be expected(only if your using it right). The handle has a good texture and makes it hard to let go even when wet. The shealth is ok, but I cant think of one I liked anyway. It holds the knife and has a extra poket for a wet stone or small compass etc.
The elite is well worth the extra $$$ over the original sog pup. Elite has an aus8 blade over the standard sog pup with a aus6(aus8 stays sharper longer).
I also have the Gerber LMF II Infantry. I pack both knifes with me, and I find myself always reaching for the pup. The Gerber LMF II Infantry is a great knife but its bigger than most of the jobs you need performed when camping, hiking etc.. Sog pup is over looked and should be given more credit. If its good enough for the navy and MARINES its good enough for a wana be surviver man.
You can buy with confidence.
- SOG has made some smart improvements to this Pup over their previous model, most notably for me being the deeper finger grooves and more rigid scoring on the handle, making it easier to grip in both wet and dry conditions. The blade is also a bit heftier, it seems, and SOG has added a blade spine rasp. It's simply a more well-rounded incarnation.
This is a very tough, very well-balanced knife that is suitable for a multitude of uses around the house or in the field. So if you're looking for an affordable fixed blade knife that's not too big but can easily hang with the performance of larger, pricier knives, this will be a very nice fit for you.

5 comments about Starrett C33H-12-4R 12-Inch Combination Square with Square Head Only.
- Excellent workkmanship and accuracy. Starrett measuring tools are the best obtainable and can be handed down for generations. Best of all, they are made in the good 'ol USA!
- I recentley ordered the Starrett comb. square that I needed in my furniture shop for a long time as my old square was not accurate to say the least. I find the new Starrett everything I had hoped for, right on the money for 90 and 45 degrees, well machined and marked, and smooth to adjust. My only regret is that I did not get one sooner.
- Starrett C33H-12-4R 12-Inch Combination Square with Square Head Only One spends this much money for a square to get accuracy. Starrett is world renowned for accuracy in their tools. However, the first unit shipped by Amazon was not square when checked against 3 different machinist's squares. Amazon promptly replaced the first unit and the 2nd model is square as expected. Thanks, Amazon.
- Hemmed and hawed over the price. Finally had to buy one for a class that didn't want me to use the General I got at Home Depot for a about 1/5 the price. The Starrett is finally worth the money. The quality difference is huge. It will be the last one you buy.
- Like almost everyone else here, I put off buying a premium combination square because of cost, and made do with cheaper combos, simple engineer's squares, various rules, etc. Further, I hesitated because opinions on Starrett's quality varies among machinists and from tool-to-tool. Many prefer Browne & Sharpe or Japanese lines like Mitutoyo. In the end, I finally broke down and bought the Starrett, really as much because it's the only commonly-available premium combination square as for any other reason - and couldn't be happier with it. It is accurate and smooth. It's actually one of those few tools where you feel the quality every time you pick it up. It's a pleasure to use it, so much so that I intend to pick up one of the 6" versions as well.

- The thermometer was delivered timely and works perfectly. It also substitues for a ray gun as shown in various science fiction movies and shows. You can practice your marksmanship and take the temperature of various items and pieces of furniture around your house.
- I'm so glad this little product was invented. I use it for checking machinery that's heat sensitive where we used to use drop thermometers and often the drop 'mots would get tangled in machinery and be ripped to shreds. This keeps us out of the cutters and provides an accurate, digital readout as well.
If they ever decide to go back to drop 'mots, they can pry this out of my cold dead hands. LOL!
