5 comments about Fiskars Hatchet with 14-Inch Handle and #7/8 Head #7850.
- i have the 14" and 8" of this hatchet and they are both than any other hatchet for the money.
- I have purchased several of these axes for my family and we love them, they are extremely sharp and cut with ease, the one fault that I'm willing to put up with is that they do dent and nick the cutting edge pretty easily because the blade is so fine edged, even when nicked up they cut way better than other axes, I have never found a better cutting edge than these
- Never had an hatchet that worked this good right out of the box. Great for cutting small camp wood, limbs and branches.
- This is the one to get, sharp, light weight, and comfortable. It is much better than the 8 inch one I purchased for backpacking, and hardly weighs more. granted, this is not for splitting wood, it is for felling small trees, removing branches, and making kindeling.
You won't be sorry
- I just got this hatchet in the mail today and have been chopping large kindling with it all day and I'm extremely impressed. I can only say good things about it. First off the handle is unbreakable, it can even stand being run over by a truck! And the blade of the hatchet is very sharp and the steel is quite nice. I'm also planning on buying the 17-Inch Splitting Hatchet because I'm very satisfied with their line of axes/hatchets!

5 comments about Fulton Corporation TW48WB 48-Inch Long Wrecker Pry Bar.
- I purchased this wrecking bar several years ago. I have nothing but glowing comments for this item. As you tear apart decking from the top deck, you have two angles with varying torque that you can put into the board removal. If you are close to the house you can use one side, and out in the open, you have plenty of torque for easy board lift up and removal. Come on guys, watch that back. I am purchasing my second one since my help misplaced the other one. I have learned to work smarter as I get older; you should too. This is not the best tool for pulling nails, but there are better and smaller tools for that function. Happy demo fellas.
- One word about this tool"DESTRUCTION"....smash things..rip things..pry things..demo anything!!!!This is a serious tool!!!!
- I purchased this tool and was surprised it was made in a town across the river from where I grew up.
But I digress. Upon recieveing this tool I was amazed at the weight. This is not a tool for light duty work. If you need a top quality demolition hand tool and find yourself bending crowbars, or find that they never are angled correctly, then get this item. This tool should last a lifetime. I purcahsed the 48" variety.
- This is one good bar for those big wrecking jobs. This is not a "renovator bar," it is not for those finesse jobs. This bar is made to pull out the most stubborn boards and studs. It has not let me down.
- If you NEED to pry......
This is the bar for you.
Free shipping also was a selling point, because I was not going to pay over $30 for this to be shipped.

4 comments about Pocketknife Belt Pouch- Cordura/ Black.
- The knife pouch is rugged and works great. It takes a lot of abuse. The velcro closure is easy to use. It has only come open once when it was under my jacket and I was doing a lot of lifting. The belt loop does take a few wearings to loosen up but never seems to sag.
Worth the money
- works well to keep my swiss army knife close to had. haven't been able to live with out one for years.
- I bought this as an accessory for the swiss army knife I am giving my son for Christmas. It fits like a glove and I love the emblem on the front. Very pleased with price, quality and shipping.
-
For anyone who has those Knifes that come with A polyester Case , that normally is not made of any quality , for use for any kind of Long period of time. This is A perfect substitute.

5 comments about Victorinox Swiss Army Knife Spartan.
- I started carrying one of these nearly 25 years ago, when I read an article in American Photo about what professional photographers had in their camera bags. Two of the four bags they went through had one of these. At the time I was an aspiring pro, so I got one, too.
I must have half a dozen of them: Thinking I have lost my beloved pocket knife, I've replaced it many times only to find it under a couch cushion or car seat after I've bought a new one.
I carry one every day and I use it every day. To open mail, to trim drawings, to auger a hole in something, to pick my teeth, even a few times to open wine. I've tied them to nylon cord and tossed them over a tree limb to lift a food bag out of bear range on backpacking trips. A friend of mine borrowed my knife to gut and dress a rabbit.
All of them have been this model, save one. That one is a similar knife made by Wenger, the other official Swiss Army Knife maker, and sold with the Buck name on it. It has a stylish black handle, but because it's not bright red, it is more easily lost. The main blade wiggles, which has never happened to any of my Victorinoxes, though some have been abused.
Get the Victorinox and skip the Wengers.
- This wonderful knife has been around the world with me and on many miles of wilderness trails. But I recently had to take an unplanned plane trip and had to surrender it to airport security.
I was crushed, but was very happy to see it is still being made.
A classic.
Enough stuff to get you through many crises like no corkscrew for the wine or a lose screw on the camp stove, but not so much it wears a hole in your pocket after a few back pack trips. Right up there with duct tape and hot glue!
- There was an occasion that I needed to buy a bunch of small gifts and I saw this general purpose pocket knife on sale for $11. I compared it with many other similar models of Swiss Army knives (Waiter, Tourist, etc), and decided to go with this one. It has just the essential tools that one needs for everyday use, not bulky. People usually get to use the knife blade more often than other tools, so it is good that this model has two knife blades. It has separate bottle/can openers, which is more easier to use. I chose corkscrew over Philip screwdriver because I knew that this particular group of people would prefer it for their purposes. I only wish it came with scissors, but those models with scissors usually have other tools that one doesn't use everyday and they are bulky to carry around. Spartan, the best everyday knife from Swiss Army, couldn't be happier with this choice.
- I have 5 saks, which made my friend joke with me ("But the point of those things is not to use one device?") I carry a tinkerer with me all the time, but for trips where opening a wine bottle will be more useful than opening a computer case the spartan is the choice. It is small, will not make a bulge on your pants, and has the most useful functions. It is so useful that I left it in my pocket going through security in the airport. Well, I bought another one now, and also a compact, which might become my daily sak.
- I was given a Spartan Swiss Army Knife in 1996 and carried the knife with me everywhere for 12 years. I worked extensively overseas and used this knife on a regular basis and because of it's size, it was easily carried and unobtrusive. One of the most handy features to me was the corkscrew. I couldn't tell you how many times this little item saved the day. It was only until I recently lost the knife that I resorted to buying a replacement or would be still carrying it today. I had found other knives similar to the Spartan but with a philips screwdriver instead of a corkscrew and it just wasn't the same. This is a high quality product that will last for years, if you don't lose it first! A perfect all purpose knife.

5 comments about HQRP 2-pin Wood Moisture Meter MD-2G - Wood, Wall Damp Meter and Home Inspection Tool.
- compared to the higher priced moisture meters it works fine. Also portable and seems to be consistent.
- I buy a lot of wood from local trees....normally I have it dried....but sometimes I naturally dry and want to know when it is workable. A lot of testers will cost you big bucks!! I think they must use them in production or something....this one...works very well for a home, local sawer, wood collector like myself....
- I was looking for a moisture meter that would tell me if I was below 10% moisture content in sawed and solar kiln dried lumber but didn't break the bank. This little meter fills the bill. It doesn't have all of the features of the $200 plus meters... but it works for an amature like me. As an aside - the product is made in China and the directions for use have been translated into English. They are comical to read. They do recommend alkaline batteries and a non alkaline is supplied with it. (But hey, a battery IS supplied!!!) These are observations and don't affect the use of the meter at all. :-)
- I wouldn't put money on the accuracy of the meter. I get a zero percent on kiln dried wood and above 10 percent moisture on air dried wood. I know that the kiln dried wood is closer to 5 percent and the air dried wood is closer to 14 percent. For the money, I am satisfied that I can tell which wood is dry enough for furniture making and which is not, and that is what I wanted to know. I can't see any reason to have an accurate reading down to a percent or so.
- I'm an amateur woodworker so I bought this meter thinking that I could find out how dry my wood is. This is not the case. I took a kiln dried piece of wood to it, and I would get 0% sometimes 1%. Then I took a freshly broken twig, and once again I measured the same thing. Now I have looked at other forums and they say you need to push the meter in so the prongs make good contact, this produced the same results. However it does seem to do well with high moisture content items. For instance, if I stick it to a damp sponge I'll measure 40%, then let it dry some I measure 35%. I think that it just doesn't have the resolution to measure the variations of moisture at low levels. It makes sense that the lower the moisture the less water to conduct, so the smaller the signal. Maybe if they just put a 24bit A/D on the device it would be able to measure the small differences at lower moistures. Anyway this is product is a NO for woodworkers. Don't waste your money like I did.

5 comments about Denali 18-Inch Speed Grip Bar Clamp/Spreader, 2-pack.
- It's the second 2-pack of these Denali clamps I've bought. The first pack had a one-ok, one not-so-ok pair, but I was able to fix the bad one. The bad one in this pair I can't seem to fix, and it's a 'fatal' flaw: doesn't apply any pressure; doesn't hold when clamped. I may order another pair and return the worse pair of both sets, hoping that I get at least one more good one in the mix. Anyhow, the ones that work seem ok, light-to-medium duty. Also, the clamps come with oversize warning stickers, and removing them leaves glue and paper stuck to the tools, which looks like crap. Maybe that wouldn't bother anyone else, but it just plain irritates me. Lastly, there are roll pins on each end of the bar; you have to hammer one out to reverse the jaws for spreader applications.. which is also an irritation; seems like they could have designed a "tool-less" changeover. oh, and you kind of have to figure that out for yourself, because there are no instructions of any kind with these tools. Maybe a three-star-rating is too generous?
- I think I paid $16 for these on sale. For $8 bucks a piece these are a great addition to my clamps in the shop. So far both have performed as expected. These are not heavy duty but are a great medium duty clamp.
- These clamps were designed to work for a few times. I bought 6 of them 5 months ago but did not put them to use till recently. I bought 6. They all fail to grip. They are peices of jusnk. There is not warrantly information on these. Stay away from them. They are insult to the name Denali.
- I just got mine and they're everything I hoped they'd be. Plenty of gripping strength and easy to use. I put them on the rack right next to my Craftsman 12"s and plan to use them interchangeably. 24" set will be included in my next order.
- I purchased a 36 inch and an 18 inch Denali clamp (2 each) the 36 inch clamp was great, five stars but this 18 inch is worthless, I've had it in use for about a month now and it's aleady started to slip when I clamp it down, it's something I'll probally eventually throw away, please buy the 36 inch but stear clear of the 18 inch.

4 comments about Porter-Cable PTA9 1/2-Inch SAE Deep Impact Socket Set, 12-Piece including case.
- Well worth the money you can not find Impact sockets this good this cheep they are worth every penny I also bought A 3/8 drive set
- The sockets have a nice smooth finish and fit tightly on both bolt heads and on the impact wrench drive. The box is tough but not too big. It is just large enough to hold the sockets. It has a handle on the end that is good for carrying, but I would probably trim it off if I were only storing the sockets in a tool box.
- These deep well impact sockets are very well constructed and the most affordable impact sockets I could find. I would recommend them to anyone, from an occasional use homeowner to the professional mechanic.
- Porter Cable's name is on this package. While I'm fairly certain they don't actually make these sockets, the Porter Cable "name" is worth protecting. Sure enough, these sockets are very good. They are solidly constructed, legible, and well finished. They are more than worth the money paid for them. These will last a long time.

5 comments about M-D Building Products 92379 24-Inch SmartTool with Module And Case.
- I purchased the 24" Smart Tool for our architectural office to ensure that all grades and ramps installed in our projects meets all ADA requirements. It is the same one that our compliance reviewer uses so it was an easy choice.
- I use the level for forensic analyses and need to have accurate measurements of angles. This level works great and when bought through this deal, you save additional money over buying the level and case separately.
- My husband is a carpenter and does alot of trim work especially stairways. The item was purchased for him and he had used one of his co-workers so knew that was what he wanted. He really thinks it's the "berries" and wonders how he worked without it.......
- Great tool. We have used them in the City of Plano Parks Dept. to check out trail layout for years. These tools are indispensible. Amazon got it to me quickly and packaged securely.
- I first received this level, as a gift from a good friend of mine that has been in wood working most of his life. Most guys would love to have a small portion of his wood shop in their home ( I know I would) I've used it a few times and got some nice results with it, but it wasn't until I had to level out a bath room floor that I found out on what I was missing out on. Just the fact that all you need to do is hear the tone to know that your on level with out trying to use your "calibrated" eye ball. Also trying to figure out rafter pitch or how much a floor or joist is out of level, this one tells you on a dime. I liked it so much I also purchased the 48" one. Now I'm waiting for the 96" to come out. If you only buy one "Fancy" level, take my word for it you'll need to buy two, both the 24" and 48" these levels are easy to use, my 15y/o son can even use this one, and he has. And don't forget the cases! Thank you M-D for making a quality tool that can last and is easy to use.
