  1. Awesome shower head filter! We see the difference on both our skin and feathers! =) my baby amazon birds (parrots)

Awesome features as it offers 5 different settings. Super easy to install... unless you have no arms and legs.

    Cheers!

  2. Los Angeles county water is heavily chlorinated with a lot of minerals, and I smell and feel it. This unit has considerably reduced both. Now, I can't even smell the chlorine or feel the minerals deposit on my skin afterward.

  3. granted i'm not the most handy person (so take this with a grain of salt), but when putting the filter in the showerhead, i thought for sure i needed to remove what appeared to be stickers on the filter... they didn't exactly come off easily, so i figured it must be part of the filtering process.

but, no where did it say to remove these, not in the directions nor on the filter itself. needless to say, despite how hard it is to remove these stickers, you definitely need to remove them.

  4. Only had it a day, but hair is completely different than normal. WAY less dry and just feels different. It feels like the water is softer. It said it comes with a wrench, but doesn't. Im not going to give it less stars though because it is cheapest shower filter I could find that filters out 99%+ of chlorine, so whatever. I bought a strap wrench froms sears for 5 bucks that works awesome. so far so good. just wanted to let people know about the lack there of a wrench. If you can't afford reverse osmosis or live in an apartment like me, give it a try.

  5. The filter itself works pretty well. There was a noticeable difference in my hair. However, the water pressure on this filter is horrible. I would get better pressure if someone peed on my head!

  1. Good item. I use the screwdriver all the time. The batteries worked very good and last quite a while.

  2. I could not find this battery at any local stores that sold Dewalt product. I recieved this battery one week after ordering. Great service well worth buying it from Amazon.

  3. Excellent service for a great replacement battery. I tried another manufact. but the run time seems lower.

  4. The purchase through Amazon was quick as I had the tiem within two days. Perfect replacement and i'm back to work. Since switching to DeWalt tools, I've had very little trouble at all.

  5. I purchased this battery to replace my old one that no longer retained a charge. This battery has performed just like my original batteries performed when my cordless screwdriver was new. I could not find it in any of the home improvement stores and was thrilled to find it at Amazon.com. If you are looking for a replacement battery, mine worked great.

  1. Awesome! Millions of uses, even just around the house ... let alone my field of work --- HVAC and refrigeration! Highly recommend this tool!

  2. This machine works very well. The only issues is that you can not take a picture of the screen nor can you save or download anything you see. This is very important. Customers want to see what you are talking about.

  3. I'm a contractor and was pleased to see an inspection camera finally out on the market that doesn't cost a fortune.

I was looking at the Milwaukee inspection camera when I saw this one. The biggest reason I chose the Rigid over the Milwaukee is that the Rigid has 3 helpful attachments with it: a mirror, a hook and a magnet. These attachments are great for doing down the wall cabling and retrieving lost items.

I could honestly care less about a rechargeable battery. If you don't use a rechargeable battery all the time, it doesn't hold it's charge and then it delays the job. Alkaline batteries have years of shelf life and are easily obtainable.

The picture being upside down doesn't make a difference. If you're looking up a wall, everything is going to look somewhat confusing anyway. The idea of a picture is to see leaks in pipes and you already know what direction pipes run so it doesn't matter if you're looking at it upside down. Besides it's easy to twist the unit to change the camera orientation.

I haven't tried the Milwaukee so I can't compare the Rigid's picture to it. I was fairly impressed with the picture on the Rigid so I don't have any complaints. Since this type of tool is new to the consumer level market, I'm not expecting miracles as far as the picture. It does the job fairly well.

  4. Very good looking. But when you have it in your hands ...
screen is very small, snake camera and whole tool is a little
    heavy,

  5. This takes some getting used to. The image is reversed, and the natural inclination is to move the handle to adjust the view, but you need to jiggle the cable - moving the handle of course does nothing. So it really takes a while to get the hang of it. But we use it for snaking cables in existing house walls, and it has proven valuable over and over again. It's kind of a "rough" tool, but being able to see what you are after can save big time, and give you confidence you are in the right place. We are happy with the purchase.

5 comments about DEWALT DC727KA Heavy Duty 12-Volt Ni-Cad Cordless 3/8-Inch Drill/Driver Kit.
  1. I love this cordless drill. It is well balanced and feels great in the hand. It will operate for quite a while witout needing to switch the battery. It has two speeds. The low speed is great for driving screws and the trigger gives great control over the speed of the screw so you can control the acceleration and the deceleration to smoothly drive a screw the exact depth desired. The high speed is good for drilling, though I do end up switching to corded drilled for anything large, extra hard, or for extended durations of drilling since I worry about over working or wearing out my favorite cordless drill. I like this drill so much that I bought a second one.

  2. Hi....

Just order this drill and ordered from Uncle Joe's via Amazon....

It just arrived and I mean I 'just' ordered it !!!

Took maybe 2 days from when I ordered it,,,,, it is here.

Just charging the battery now to test it out.... but wanted to comment on the Quick,,, Quick,,, shipping via Uncle Joe's....

    Get it through them :)

    Michael

PS more of a review once the battery is charged !

  3. This is my third purchaase of this drill. The originals are used for a very light comercial application, they are used a lot, but on the lowest torque setting to drive screws.

Honestly, for 'HEAVY DUTY DRILLING' do yourself a favor and buy a corded drill - a B&D 'HOLEGUN' is still my favorite - that said this is still a VERY good heavy duty screwdriver / medium duty drill.

I like them however this one was only bought because we need new batteries and the cost of two batteries is almost the same as the total kit - so I figgured why not get a "free" backup drill!

This item lost a star because in my opinion the batteries have too short a usable lifetime, in spite of there being two included in the kit.

    I hope this helps somebody.

  4. Bought this drill on sale at a large home improvement store for about the Amazon price. Nowadays everybody talks about the "voltage" implying more is always better. Whats next? 48 volts? Come on.

I considered the 18 volt version but let common sense prevail and got the 12 volt unit. My objective was a good, solid, powerful drill for general usage around the house. I wanted something I could manipulate easily and which didn't have a humungous battery getting in the way. I can tell you this 12 volt drill is a beast. I'm a serious woodworker and home repair type of guy and this drill is perfect without the ridiculous size of the higher voltage types. Nice balance in your hand so you'll feel comfortable grabbing it for many jobs.

The charger is fast and the batteries last a long time between charges.
Don't get sucked into the voltage hype. Buy this 12 volt unit without hesitation.

  5. The 12 volt drill from Dewalt is the best! WE bought this as a replacement for one just like it. After 3 or 4 years of heavy duty use in the construction industry, the batteries needed replacing, and it was a better value to just buy a new one and have the old one on hand just in case. Love!

  1. great tool to work on notebooks... i bot this to open my notebook and reseat the memory card...it makes the job fairly easy...

  2. Great variety. Nice quality. I would recommend this. I used it to open a laptop hard drive.

  3. There is a huge variety of bits and they are all magnetical. The case is very durable along with the screwdriver that comes with it. The problem is that the bit tips are very weak and bend REALLY easy. I understand that you should be gentle while using small bits like this, but these tips just hardly have the strength to take out commercial screws and they bend way to easily. They should have coated the tips in something stronger. I probably wouldn't recommend these to a friend.

  4. Amazing!... For a cheap tool set, it's fairly doing the job. I bought this tool set just for the Torx T9 driver, but i'm amazed by the other drivers. Excellent product!

  5. I use this set while working on computers and audio gear, works great when there's multiple screw types on one unit.

  1. Nice product at a fair price. Shipping was fair and quick. I will look forward to shopping with them again.

  2. I bought this as a backup for my new impact driver. The battery held it's charge through alot of screws - more than my old drill and it's backup battery combined!

This would be a great gift for the 'tool junkie' in anyone's life.

  3. This is a great battery, from what i've seen so far. I recently used the battery to finish two steel roofing jobs. I was very impressed with the battery life. Only had to charge once per day and we were predrilling the holes for the TEK screws. No problems with shipping. Lot cheaper than the big box stores. Good buy.

  4. This purchase was a great value. I received it promptly and it powers my model airplane starters just great. I also purchased a Makita drill that can be powered by the same battery.

  5. Really, these batteries provide seemingly endless power. They hold their charge for weeks with very little loss. I can use one battery for drilling and driving throughout an entire (moderately sized) project. They are extremely lightweight and charge in twenty minutes or less usually (in hot weather it takes longer). All three of mine slide on and off easily, with no issues of binding or falling off. With all the praise comes a VERY important caveat. DO NOT run these batteries into the ground. The instructions state that as soon as you notice a loss of power, stop and charge. If you over-discharge Li-Ion batteries, you can seriously degrade the life of the battery. These batteries are 1/3 cheaper on Amazon.com than at the home centers, so buy from here! Also, only the cells themselves are made in Japan, all other parts are made and final assembly is in China.

5 comments about Leatherman 830040 New Wave Multi-Tool with Nylon Sheath.
  1. I gave this to my boyfriend recently, and he hasn't put it down! We have been moving for the last two weekends, and this has come in handy many times- from opening boxes, to assembling furniture. Seriously- a GREAT gift!

  2. Took my 6 yr old camping for the first time, so I thought it would be handy to have a multi-tool. She was basically just excited that it had so many functions. We would take it out and use it just for the fun of it.

This review is more anecdotal because around the house, I have a garage full of tools to work with. I think this is a great tool to have in pinch though.

  3. There are so many different versions of the leatherman that I wasn't sure which one to get and what the differences were exactly. I went with this one and am not dissapointed. It has everything you could need and is made well.

One note - I am left-handed and the blade for the main knife on this tool is setup for a right hander. I didn't realize this until I was out backpacking and cut myself pretty good because, like an idiot, was cutting towards myself due to the edge of the blade being on the wrong side for me. With all the different models Leatherman makes I'm sure there is a left-handed version. I'm going to see if I can take the tool apart and flip the knife over so the blade edge is on the right side for me, but if you are left-handed and haven't purchased yet, see if you can find a left-handed version of this tool before you buy.

  4. I wear my leatherman using the optional belt clip and use it hourly when I'm on my boat. I primarily use the serrated blade, the large screwdriver, and the pliers. I occasionally use the phillips bit in the bit driver, the ruler, and the wire cutters. I almost never use the straight blade, the file, the saw, the bottle opener, or the tiny screwdriver. I have the optional bits and the nylon sheath, but have never used them.

I like the locking knife blades, that they're on the outside, and that I can open them one-handed. The tool's bulk does not bother me and I think it necessary to make decent handles for the pliers. I also sometimes use the tool as a hammer.

I do not like its tendency to corrode. I've owned my current tool for about 4 months and it has little spots of rust all over it and it is getting difficult to open. I've taken to oiling it, but now it is oily. I had an earlier model in my abandon ship bag and after several years it became a solid piece of rust.

I do not like the pliers function. The tool is uncomfortable in my hands when gripping it since it has rather hard edges. It is difficult to use one-handed because it is either stiff or oily. It also has a tendency to slip off whatever I'm trying to grip (not just related to the oil). The worst part is that if I grip the plier handles too close to the neck, when the nose slips off the nut, the palm of my hand near my index finger gets pinched HARD between the backs of the saw and the straight blade. I have a big black blood blister on my hand right now from when it pinched me real good two weeks ago. I almost threw the tool in the water I was so mad.

My brother-in-law has a Gerber and the pliers function seems very nice on that tool. The handles were more comfortable and the neck was spring-loaded to make one-handed use easier.

  5. The tool arrived on time and appears to be very high quality. I have not used it, rather I keep it in my car in case its needed when traveling.

5 comments about Porter-Cable FR350A Round Head 2-Inch to 3-1/2-Inch Framing Nailer.
  1. i've had this gun for 4 yrs and running. driven untold boxes of nails through it. dropped it. the metal magazine is solid, the loading mechanism fast and stout, the depth adjustment straight forward and rugged. but the true beauty is the trigger which allows single shot or bounce with the turn of this little dial. so nice. year ago the main gasket went, but the rebuilt kit and 1/2hr and she's good.

  2. Item as described, fast shipping, haven't had time to use it yet but will be helpful in future projects.

  3. I was worried when I ordered this nail gun because it was so much cheaper then local retailers. The first time I used the gun I knew I had made a great purchase. It's just as good as my old Porter-Cable nail gun, but actually seems to jam less. The FR350A has an additional safety that prevents double fires that took a little getting used to. The additional safety can be turned off, but the extra safety is really nice when you're toe-nailing or any other funny angles. It also loads directly from the rear which took a little getting used to. I can't tell you how many sweaty afternoons I tried to stick the nails in the top when I was switching back and forth between guns, but once you get used to it, I believe the rear loading is faster.

  4. Surely Porter Cable did NOT make this! Brand NEW out of the box and it would not drive 3" nails? Bought mine on sale at Home Depot and fortunately they allowed me to return it. I have used nailers over 15 years and could not believe this. Shame on you Porter Cable for advertising this gun will shoot 3 1/2" nails and it would NOT drive 3" nails. This is not the Porter Cable I used to know. Buyer beware, this gun is not as advertised. The telling end was my offer to the store manager was that I would buy 2 if he could get it or another new one out of the box to drive 3" nails. He would not accept the offer, stating some things may be over stated on their (Porter Cable)labels. My prayer is that potential buyers read this BEFORE purchase and someone, anyone from PC also read this...shame on you PC

  5. This is an excellent tool with good weight proportion. It handles many size nails and has a easy trigger. I am an acupuncturist in Broomfield Colorado who formally built furniture and Homes in Colorado. [...]

2 comments about Skylink Complete Wireless Alarm System #SC-1000.
  1. This system is ideal if you want to be notified if there's is a break in, but don't want to pay an arm and a leg, plus your first born for the service.

It can call multiple numbers with a pre-recorded message to let your friends, family and you etc, know that there's a break in. You can set the order or frequency of calls to the programmed numbers. It can be set to silent or audible alarms and you can add vibration, smoke , temprature detector etc, modules to it.

You can set different zones to react instantly or to count down before going off. In addition you can slowly keep growing/adding on security sensors as your budget allow.

I've been using it for some months now with no problems and its real, real, easy to configure. I had one issue with it however and it's not a unique problem to the device. Be careful where you put the motion sensor or you'll get constant false alarms. Light reflecting through your windows/glass doors could set it off. Have it face inwards and away from mirrors that can 'see' the windows/glassdoors. Forgetting to turn off the ceiling fan caught me in the first few days. Apparently it was turning the pages on a magazine in some cases, and moving the curtains in the next.

Finally, it has a wide detection arc, so really think about where you are placing it(motion sensor).

Did I also mention that it uses 9volt batteries as backup power, though I am not sure how long that last or if it can recharge rechargable ones.

  2. This is a wonderful system that allow for peace of mind when leaving the premises. I bought the complete system with alarm and dialer. The systems come linked together, so if someone sets off the door/windows alarms or the motion detector, the dialer will begin calling the pre-programmed numbers with your custom pre-recorded message. So far it has worked very well. The built in alarm is unbearably loud, so be careful if you set it off by accident. Be sure you have the remote handy as you do NOT want to get near it to disarm it. It has the ability to trip the phone dialer based on the sensors by themselves, as a whole, or by the main security system. The dialer can be set so that you can hear the numbers being dialed, or you can opt to make it completely silent. I have mine silent as I don't want someone finding it and pulling the phone cord out. Besides, the alarm is enough to scare anyone off. The motion detector is very touchy however, and it will trip the system with slight movement. In my opinion that is a good thing. At night I set it so that only the doors and windows are alarmed, and the motion detector is off. This is a handy feature. I've purchased many security devices lately and this one is certainly the best. If you combine this with an in home motion detection webcam such as the Linksys WVC54GC you can not only be alerted via phone, but also get pictures sent to your cell phone, send streaming media to your cell phone, or simply hop onto the web and view your house in real time with no computer needed. This is my setup and it gives you an amazing piece of mind. Just be sure to mount everything out of sight!
