5 comments about Fein 63502151020 1-1/8-Inch Universal E-Cut Blade, 3 Pack.
  1. This was the best price I could find for these blades but they are still way more than they are worth. Wish someone else would come out with a replacement to create some competition for these folks. I should probably buy stock in their company and get wealthy like them!

  2. As a residential contractor I use these blades quite often to get into tight areas that a sawzaw is too large or aggressive. The blades offer excellent control in every situation. They provide fine finish results when under cutting door jambs or sectioning wood window sills. The primary reason I scored these blades a 4 v. 5 is because of the price. At $70-$80 for a three pack, you want to steer clear of nails. Although they are rated to cut wood and metal, nails will dull the blades quickly.

  3. I bought the pneumatic multimaster from toolmart for a great price but after shopping for blades this was a fantastic deal and these blades are worth even the higher price. I'm working on enclosing my back porch and I have been cutting nails, plastic molding, wood with the first blade out of the pack and haven't even broke any teeth yet. The blades are pricy but they do hold up.

  4. I have used this tool in a variety of applications and was very pleased. The concept, construction, blade changing, instructions, and general quality are high. But like other reviewers, I feel that it is overpriced, at least for non-professional users, who would be happy with a lesser quality tool. Perhaps the greatest problem is the high price of blades and other accessories.
If it and the blades last 10 years, though, I will feel very satisfied.

  5. Love the tool, I own and operate a high volume door/millwork business. I use mine daily. The cost of the blades is way too high, but they can be re sharpened several times. There are several sharpening services in my area that sharpen everything from kitchen knives to bandsaw blades, the guy we use even comes to the jobsite to pick up the blades every few weeks and resharpens them right in his van. I use the metal+wood e-cut blades and the scraper blades almost exclusively. There is no other tool on the market that even comes close to performing like the multimaster, the cost to operate would make it too high if we did not sharpen our blades though.

5 comments about Garrity Power Lite 3 LED Crank Light (Titanium Silver/Black).
  1. Did a bit of research on wind-up flashlights before this Crank Light from Garrity was ordered, and have no regrets about this choice. Was simply looking for a reasonably priced crank or wind-up emergency flashlight without any frills, but one that was built well and might last a few years.

Came very close to buying the Dynamo Illuminator Wind-up LED Flashlight, but checking with "friends in the business" found that it didn't seem to have the battery life of the Garrity. That was backed up by some of the reviews found here.

The product features from Garrity say "easy-to-wind crank-light provides up to 30 minutes of light with one minute of cranking." Further down the product description says: "With just one minute of cranking, this flashlight will provide up to one hour of bright light with its three super bright LED bulbs." My personal experience has been that 60 seconds of cranking (60 complete cycles), this Crank Light provides decent illumination for over an hour... and longer than that if you use it in the single bulb mode.

The only thing to watch out for, as has been noted by another reviewer, is to not crank the light with it turned on in the single bulb mode, as too much current could flow through the LED and burn it out.

Others you might want to consider are the more costly Duracell Crank Light 3 in 1, 3 LED Flashlight, Radio, Charger with its extra features, or the Wind 'N Go Flashlight.

  2. I bought this flashlight for my husband. While he loves the wind up feature and never having to replace it's battery, I noticed that the light output is not strong. While at first, it is bright, the flashlight quickly dims and the light output is very weak. Unless you continuously wind it up (which is bad for the flashlight), there is no strong light.

I noticed this when we were renovating our bathroom. When you're looking in dark places (in between walls) at pipes, this flashlight was sort of useless because even with it on, one couldn't really see details like screws and such.

While this might be a great flashlight if you're just walking outside and you don't mind a dimmer light source, this flashlight dims in comparison to the normal standard flashlight in light output.

I am a little bit disappointed by this fact since I bought two of them. I rate this product 3 stars. Nice idea and design, but needs to improve in the light output category.

  3. Firstly, I ordered two, and one came broken...one of the LED's won't 'illuminate' (...and at today's shipping costs, it isn't worth the price of sending it back for an exchange/refund). Secondly, I ordered this model because the photo showed it to be flat...which is what I needed...to easily fit in my car's narrow glove compartment. But I received an 'updated' model which is much bulkier, and won't fit in my glove compartment (along with all my other stuff.) As for the light output and duration, I read (from the 'Amazon reviews') that it's better than the Illuminator brand, but my Garrity dims quite a bit after 15 minutes. However, I also bought the simialr and larger Duracell '2-pack' crank light, and I would rate this less-expensive Garrity higher than the more expensive Duracell crank light.

  4. The flashlight functions ok but it appears to made out of cheap materials and light is really weak. I was also using a cheap battery powered flashlight, that turned out to be far more powerful.

  5. Light is great. The reviews here are very accurate. Very bright, easy to 'wind' up. However, be warned that many purchases I have made from Amazon direct (not their affiliates) has come with very little inner box padding or packing material. They shipped my flashlights (3 of them) bouncing around inside a big box with very little padding. This is the 3rd time. What is it going to take to insure that my purchases are packaged properly? I want the idiot(s) in shipping to get written up for this. Sorry, but what was supposed to be a very happy day getting my toys turned out to be another Amazon disappointment... I am going to cut/paste this into a review for every product I purchased that was improperly packaged.

5 comments about Black & Decker ASI300 Air Station Inflator.
  1. I purchased this air compressor several weeks ago and am very pleased with it. Yes it is noisy (as some of the previous reviewers commented), but all small air compressors are. This compressor is actually a bit quieter than the one I had to replace (which was a different brand).

I especially like that the various nozzles store underneath the unit so I don't have to go hunting for them.

I agree with earlier comments about the dial gage being hard to read with any accuracy, but once I determined what needle position corresponded to 34 psi (the recommended pressure for my car) I found that I could use the dial gage very reliably for the rest of the tires. It's probably still a good idea to use a reliable tire gage, but if I'm in a hurry, the onboard dial gage will get me within +/- 1 psi.

In all it is a very capable unit and I'd buy it again without reservation.

  2. Very nice product. handy and versatile. Much quieter than my old air station. I would buy this product again.

  3. This air pump is a good value. I got it for $40 and it tops off all tires on 2 cars and 1 motorcycle within seconds and shuts itself off when pressure has been reached.

    DC

  4. Really like this air inflator. Auto shut off is great & ability to use in car is handy!! Lite weight & less noise than other inflators.

  5. I just used my new B&D As1300 Air Station for the 1st time and was greatly disappointed. I had a older model that worked much better and faster and had longer power and inflation cords. When using the inflator, the storage compartment door must be left open which makes turning the air station on and off very awkward. The only part that broke on my old air station was the plastic valve stem attachment which I could not replace. If I had bought this new air station from a local retailer I would return it for a refund.

5 comments about Black & Decker FSMVC 9.6-Volt to 18-Volt Slide Style Battery Charger.
  1. Charger supplied with combo tool set burned out. This is a great replacement, much better than what came with the tools.

  2. I am happy to have this charger because it allows me to have one of the Black and Decker batteries allways to full charge

  3. Charges faster than charger included with tool which is good but lacking the information that a charger was included(I've bought tools where the charger was sold seperate and seen tools where the battery was a seperate item)my purchase of this item was unnecessary..

  4. My only complaint with the battery system is the battery life. This charger does a great job of getting your batteries fully charged so you can get back in the action.

  5. MUCH faster charge than the charger that came with my leaf blower. Also, batteries fit in charger better, less chance of damage to battery.

5 comments about Hoover 4010100Y WindTunnel Allergen Filtration Bag.
  1. I purchased two packages of bags and the price was the best I could find for the ones I needed for my Hoover. The bags look Hoover OEM and with the allergen filtrate which is great.

  2. I've owned my Hoover Windtunnel for about 3 years now. Type Y bags are between difficult and impossible to find replacement for....especially at WalMart. Amazon has, no doubt, the best price. The product is described quite well in the other Customer Reviews.... the bags work great.....they are a bit expensive..... they do tend to fill up quickly, but I own 3 dogs, Golden Retrievers, and I expect with their shedding I would look for the bag to fill quicker than usual..... When I replace the bag, I've found that if I place the machine on a low table, and lower the handle as low as it will go... almost flat, then the bag is horizontal, I can remove the bag quite easily with a minimum of dust spillage. I had some generic bags which came with a small wide piece of clear Scotch tape which one would use to seal the full bag. This feature is great when I am vacuuming for fleas........... but the Hoover Genuine product doesn't have this tape so I use a small piece of Scotch shipping tape to seal things up. I miss this feature. 5 Star Review is appropriate.

  3. I bought these bags as replacement bags and so far so good. They hold in my two dogs hair with no problem, helping to keep the carpet nice and clean.

  4. This vacuum works great. My only complaint is that the front cover that houses the vacuum bag falls off all the time......poorly put together I guess. Anyway, I taped it shut because I don't need to impress anyone and everything is fine now.

  5. We've owned Kirby's, Oreck's, others and, for the money, this one wins hands down. It's lightweight, easy to manuveur, and almost drives itself. We have a medium nap carpet and have our unit set on the highest setting. It's great on pet hair (we have a yellow lab) and does a good job along walls and corners. The bag check port is a nice feature. The cord could be six feet longer and the on/off switch should be foot-operated or on the handle rather than the bag housing. The accessories are o.k., but difficult to use on stairs. Overall, for general cleaning, the unit performs magnificently considering a price under $100.

5 comments about Magna Cart Personal Hand Truck.
  1. A really solidly built and compact (since it folds basically flat) hand-truck. A very nice design.

  2. I kick myself for having waited so long to follow through and buy this, after scoping it out for some months. It's lightweight, folds up so quickly into such a flat and compact unit that it's a cinch to store under a car seat. The only thing I would wish was different would be for the actual bottom plate to be a wee bit larger to make it easier to keep a single box balanced and from slipping off.

  3. I have had several carts over the years to haul my tools around from customer to customer but this one is great. Very light in weight but very strong. Also compacts down to a small size for stowing in vehicle.

  4. This is a nice hand cart for light loads on flat surfaces. I tried using this to move some medium weight boxes up the stairs to my car but found it flimsy & too small. The wheels are so small I had to jerk it up each stair. It was easier to carry the boxes individually. Good thing I didn't get rid of my standard size hand truck even though it takes up too much space in my hallway. I would not recommend this hand truck for people who need to seriously moves things up & down stairs.

  5. The folding wheels are the best ... and worst feature. They make the unit much easier to carry and store. But they put the pivot point too far behind the load and that throws off the balance.

Unintuitively, it works better with big loads than small; i.e., it is easier to move two boxes than just one! To balance short loads, you have to push the handle too far down (too close to horizontal) to be really comfortable. Fortunately, the handle is long, so it is not too awkward.

Tall loads balance better. Moving one box is easier if you stand it on end than the more natural bottom.

5 comments about DEWALT DW9116 7.2-Volt to 18-Volt Pod Style 1 Hour Battery Charger.
  1. This charger worked flawlessly on my 14.4V battery for my Black and Decker cordless drill. The price was considerably less than an a identical product sold at a local home store. Shipping was prompt. A great buy!

  2. I have a firestorm cordless drill. The charger went bad over a year ago. I could not find another one. I had put the drill in storage . I bought this charger at a real good price. It charged my old firestorm battery in 45 minutes. new life for a old cordless drill. Great charger at a very good price.

  3. I received the product as promised, in time and in good condition. I plugged my dead battery into it and let it sit for several hours, then plugged the other battery in for its cycle. Both batteries had not been charged properly for a couple of years since the original charger died but are apparently no worse for the wear and have continued to hold a charge since they were recharged. Excellent! My batteries are Firestorm for B&D 3/8" 12 vdc drill motor and are several years old. They fit into this charger perfectly.

  4. After going through several charges for my Black & Decker drill this charger gets me up an running in less than an hour. Shorted battery packs won't blow out this charger, like they would on the Black & Decker

  5. The review written says this : This is an amazing little charger that literally breathes new life into your failing DeWalt batteries. It revitalizes everything from 9.6 volts through the big 18-volters, but what's so great about this charger is that not only can it be used as a standard quick charger, but if you leave a worn-down battery in for four to 10 hours, the charger conditions the battery with a tune-up mode, and at completion, it has a trickle mode so your battery won't be harmed. NOW BACK TO MY REVIEW ;
It arrived very fast but contained no manual or instructions . I looked on the Internet and found none eihter . I DID find that these chargers had been re-called and were a dangerous shock hazard ( LOOK FOR YOURSELVES , just 'Google the Charger # and recall' or read where I pasted the ad ) . The LED INDICATORS spoken about were ONE (1) indicator and when you could move the battery around, twist it and try several times, you could get it to light . What does this mean though . Are you getting a fast 1 hour charge or a slow one to 'condition' the battery ? Who knows ? It may get a jar on the floor and the light go off or it may charge to it's fullest. If the light goes off, is it charged or just jarred and happens to go off ? You never know and never will as there is no Manual . I would assume that this "SELLER" bought in Bulk Form and packaged the chargers and could sell them at the lower price which they were sold at . It came in a USPS package and was wrapped in a plastic bag, nothing else , no manual or anything at all about the Charger ) The shipping was almost as much as the charger itself . Mine was from a SELLER no longer listed,( LOCOMODEM ). This Seller, after only 3 days is no longer listed and the price keeps going up . I paid only $11.95 plus $8.91 for postage . It said on the package that it was $6.36 for the shipping . A quick way for the SELLER to make an extra $2.55 for the 'low price ' he talks about . These things are sold anywhere from $30.00 to $90.00 plus or minus the shipping, depending on who you purchase from . There is a newer model now. The problem is the re-call and whether these have been repaired . The lower prices makes one wonder if these are the re-called ones or maybe reconditioned . They don't say , except that they have a yellow or green dot sticker near the date code when they have been repaired , mine does not . You be the judge and if you are a genious and can figure out when and if the battery is correctly charging, whether or not you will get a shock or maybe killed , then you are certainly smarter then me . That would not need to be very smart, but if you are trying to save money and pay for the cheaper ones, IS IT SAFE or just a SELLER trying to make money while he can ? BELOW IS THE PASTED RE-CALL FROM THE INTERNET :

CPSC, DEWALT® Industrial Tool Co. Announce Recall of Battery Chargers

WASHINGTON, D.C. - In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), DEWALT® Industrial Tool Co., of Baltimore, MD, is voluntarily recalling about 825,000 battery chargers (model DW9116) for repair. These chargers are for 9.6- to 18-volt batteries used with DEWALT cordless tools. Metal clips inside the chargers could come loose and stick through the chargers' vents, possibly resulting in consumers receiving an electrical shock.

DEWALT has not received any reports of injuries with these chargers. This recall is being conducted to prevent the possibility of injuries.

The battery chargers are model number DW9116, which is written on the front and bottom of the charger housing. The chargers are black with yellow lettering. DEWALT is written on the front of the chargers. The recalled chargers have date codes from 9927EM through 9952EM and 0001EM through 0031EM located on the bottom of the charger. Chargers with a yellow or green dot sticker near the date code already have been repaired, and are not recalled.

5 comments about Toro Ultra 12 Amp Electric Blower/Vacuum #51599.
  1. I've had this blower now for a year and I am very pleased with its performance & ease of use. Its great that I dont have to struggle with starting a gas powered one anymore! It is just as powerful as my husbands commercial blower & much less expensive. This is definately a winner! Buy it with confidence!

  2. I bought this unit to blow dust, dirt and leaves from my property and that it does well, it came with attachments for vacuuming also but I've not used them yet so I can't comment. As a blower it moves lots of air and I would compare it to any gas units I've used without the mess, cost and fumes of gas blowers. Good value

  3. Just started using and cannot believe how much more powerful than the gas units I have been using over the past years. No comparison!!! I've gone green with my electric blower and will stay the course. PS. the vac works great with the metal turbine. No cheap plastic to break. A big plus+

  4. I originally thought I would get a gas hand-held blower to supplement my back pack unit. Consumers Reports rated the electrics better than gas-powered, and rated this one the best, so I went with it. After 15 minutes of use I knew my back-pack blower was history! I told my wife it was going away in the next garage sale! This Toro toll is ALL you need. I have 7 Mulberry trees that drop huge leaves ALL the time. The vacuum/mulcher is perfect for routine pick-up, the blower for heavier accunulations. This one of the best things I've purchased in years! I put this thing right up there with my 320,000 mile Toyota pick-up truck!!

  5. In place of a lawn, my home is surrounded by decorative white coral. Prior to the Toro Ultra, cleaning the coral from dried leaves, weeds, twigs, dried flower blossoms etc... had been a royal pain: a rake was too slow (like picking up sand one grain at a time) and a broom brushed all the coral around. I now use the "vac" to pick up the dried stuff. I like the speed control (essentially allows you to dial how much suction you want) and the attached fabric bag captures everything (very little dust escapes). In addition, the fabric bag has a zipper running the length of the bag which makes it extremely easy to empty (not like a traditional vacuum cleaner bag), and can be washed when necessary (hand-washing recommended). I don't know about other people but I don't like fussing with gasoline. I can just plug it in and clean my coral "yard" in record time. I think its a GREAT tool at a GREAT price!

5 comments about Honeywell HW-628 Twin Window Fan.
  1. I bought three for our un-airconditioned house. We've only owned them a month or two, but they've been working beautifully so far. They're relatively quiet and move the air through the house well. I thought the thermostats were going to be superfluous. But I really like the convenience of them turning themselves on and off.

  2. I bought this fan for my sons room, which doesn't seem to get much air flow like the rest of the bedrooms. It took about half an hour to get it installed in the window and then we turned it on. As I said, it is a bit noisy and I would imagine it would be hard to fall asleep with it on. It does an excellent job of cooling the room if the outside air is below about 73 degrees. The one downside that I noticed is that when we have the central air conditioning on, there is no way to close off the fans from the outside, and the heat can come right in. Perhaps Honeywell could consider including a couple of pop off covers for this purpose. If I were looking for a fan again, I would probably get a quiet floor model instead.

  3. I had borrowed a Holmes unit from a friend and thought that it was great except for not being able to control each fan separately or to direct the airflow.

So I got the Honeywell. It's about the same noise level as the Holmes and each fan has its own control. There are louvers on the fan so you can direct the air to some degree.

I didn't like that the lowest setting was not really that low. Also the panels that pull out from the side to help it fit into the window were on a spring and hard to manage.

    But still a great buy.

  4. This replaces an older version of the fan. This one, however, is noisier than our original. Otherwise, it is a decent, durable fan.

  5. GOOD OVERALL WINDOW FAN.

HAS FAN & EXHAUST CAPABILITIES. DUAL FANS W/INDIVDUAL CONTROL OPTIONS.

EXHAUST FEATURE LETS YOU SUCK HOT AIR OUT OF THE ROOM "NICE FEATURE"

MUCH BETTER THAN ANY STAND ALONE OSCILLATING FAN WE OWNED!
NEVER GETS KNOCK OVER OR HAS TO BE MOVED AROUND FOR VACUUMING, ECT.
