5 comments about Dremel 750-02 Minimite 13,000 RPM 2 Speed 4.8-Volt Cordless Rotary Tool.
- My 1 year old Cocker Spaniel hates to have his paws touched. It was impossible to cut his nails because you couldn't hold him still and his nails are dark so you can't see the quick. His first experience at a groomer was a bad one so I won't take him to anyone again. The vet barely touched his nails when I took him there. I heard of using this product and was afraid, but I tried it on myself first to see what he would be feeling and it was fine. Of course you still need to be careful not to trim too much and remain calm and sensitive to your dog, but it's not too powerful and works great.
- Purchased primarily to file dog's claws e.g. to shorten them so they don't become too long. Dog is long-haired and despite my efforts to trim hair in the vicinity of his paws, it seems as if I'd have to trim his legs an inch or more to avoid the hair becoming entangled in the rotating device. Neither he nor I enjoy that! Am hesitant about continuing to use it. About ready to revert back to the hand-operated claw trimer formerly used.
- I like this tool much better than the tradition nail clippers for my dogs. There are certain annoyances including nail dust flying everywhere, the smell of nail dust, overheating, and lack of battery power overtime. Otherwise, very easy to use.
- We use these in our grooming salon and they are really great.
They are light weight so don't kill your hands, but powerful enough to get the job done.
I will say, their battery life is a *little* on the weak side, but not bad enough for me to buy a different model for my own home use. You can do several small dogs with one charge, but if you're having to remove a fair amount of length from the toenails of a normal sized dog it does drain kind of quickly. In these cases, it's better to trim some of the excess nail off before grinding. If you are planning on multiple large dogs, or a bigger project, I would recommend picking up a spare battery.
Despite popular belief, it IS possible to quick a dog with these (and any other tool that shortens the nails, including pedipaws...), and the heat does NOT cauterize it, so if you aren't good with figuring out where the quick ends, be sure to keep some quik stop handy.
- The cordless dremel is not just a hobby tool. We have found
so many uses for it and have one for the garage and one for
the house. It recharges quickly and holds a charge for several
days. We find it to be indispensible around the house- from
fine detail sanding, taking burrs off metal, making cutouts in
sheetrock or tile, even as a podiatry tool. This tool is a real
winner.

5 comments about Peltor H10A Professional Noise Canceling Earmuff.
- The (passive) noise reduction works very well. [Noise Canceling usually means an electronic system, which this is NOT.] Wearing these, I can barely hear the lawn mower or circular saw; it is useful to be able to hear them just enough to know they are working correctly. With earbuds put on first, I can listen to my mp3 player/radio at normal volumes with full clarity.
They are a bit snug, as you would want to ensure good noise reduction; I have a fairly large head. I loosened them a bit by flexing the wires gently a few times. Too tight is better than too loose, because it's easier to loosen them.
The muffs are plastic. Wearing these in hot weather or doing sweaty work means some moisture will gather where the muff is against your scalp/skin, and some will find that uncomfortable if worn for a long time.
Note that they are rated at 29 db reduction. That's about the same as the foam inserts you can buy at most pharmacies, which are much cheaper and better for long-term wear. I bought the earmuffs to make it easy to take them off when not in use, and to be able to listen to my radio/mp3 player with earbuds.
These work VERY well for my purposes. I wear them as needed, which varies from a couple of minutes to just over an hour, and they are comfortable enough for that amount of wear.
- very good. it's not heavy at all, and comfortable.
so efficiently get rid or my roommate's fk noisy music.
- Purchased the noise cancelling earmuff for use with a professional grade back pack blower. They work well and are very confortable. I would recommend to anyone that uses noisy landscape equipment or power tools. They are very reasonably priced as well.
- My Deaf son looked most skeptical as I opened the box - and pulled out these Peltor ear muffs. He asked - Mom, do you want to be Deaf? I replied simply, yes in ASL! You see, over the years 'the hearing' as my son calls us have noticed that we are far more irritable than we were decades ago. Ultimately, my discovery as to the cause was the ever-present in-home and outdoor continuum of noise from humans, machinery, media chatter, telephone talk, and things that mysteriously go bump in the night-and-day. So, when I put the muffs on - it felt like I had actually achieved a lifetime dream from that old Broadway show - "stop the world - i want to get off!" Peace...pure peace, and priceless. Oh - they are comfortable as well. A great deal!
- I was looking for noise canceling earmuffs to quiet the constant din of the television so I could read in the same room as my family. I feel like they've given me my sanity back! They are comfortable and really do the trick. At first they felt a bit tight on my ears but after a couple wearings they are great. I am able to hear enough so I am not totally isolated, but I am now able to read within six feet of the television and it doesn't bother me at all. The price is so much lower than earmuffs I've priced at retail stores and they are of high quality. I definitely recommend these.

- Well made, like the holders all the bits come in.
Wish it had smaller size torx bits. Most screws are going to torx these days, so having #5 #6 #7 torx would have been great. It only has #10 and #15 so too big for most applications.
- I got this item two days after the day I was told it would get to my home.I do not know who did the shiping but they should be slaped.
- so since i have gotten the set of heads, it has come in handy for everything! i love it
- I already owned a Leatherman tool so I know how handy they are...I put this one in my truck and have already used it once at the gas station to help out another customer. The tool is strong and compact... and with the bits there's not much you can't try to do. "Peace of Mind" for me in the event I need to "Magiver" something.!!
- Except for places that forbid any metal tools like Aircraft, I never go anywhere without the leatherman and these bits. The versatility and functionality can not be beat!

5 comments about Kreg K3MS K3 Master Pocket Hole Jig System.
- In the past I have almost exclusively used either mortise and tenon, dovetail, block or biscuit joinery in all my projects.
I am currently involved in a project that requires the building of a bunch of base and wall cabinets. During the paper design phase of this project I saw that I was going to need a ton of stretchers. The stretchers are vital structural cabinet components but are not really visible in the end product. Since there were so many stretchers, it became clear that I needed an alternate method of joinery specifically for these components.
I had never used the pocket screw approach before mainly because I have always had an aversion to butt joints. I decided that using pocket screws for joining the stretchers might be worth a try so I purchased the Kreg K3MS Master Pocket Hole Jig System.
Being a real novice in this area I spent a lot of time researching the type of screws I would need. Since I was working with 3/4 inch oak laminate sheets and pine stretchers, I decided to order the Kreg SML-C125W #8, 1 1/4 inch coarse screws. What the heck, as long as I spent this much money I also ordered two Kreg right angle clamps as well. The literature I read suggested that these clamps made the joint alignment much simpler.
Well I got the pocket screw jig, read the directions, practiced a bit on some scrap wood and then proceeded to use it on my cabinet stretchers. After attaching my first stretcher I was sold on this type of joinery. The joints were simple and they were tight. The right angle clamps were a life saver as well. It turns out that the screws bite into the wood so hard that the torque will end up rotating the joint by a quarter inch or so if the piece is not firmly clamped in place.
I also built the solid oak cabinet face frames using pocket screw joinery. Since the face frame is constructed with hard wood I used the Kreg SML-F125 1 1/4 inch fine pocket screw. I had no problems with splitting. The joints were tight and strong.
The Kreg pocket hole jig, and supporting components kind of expanded my cabinet making horizon a bit. The joints were quick, easy and most importantly very strong. Although I will continue to use mortise and tenon, dovetail and/or biscuit joinery in most of my projects, I can see that there are applications where the pocket screw method is definitely warranted.
Would I spend the money to purchase these items again? The answer is a definite yes. This Kreg jig is well designed, it is well built, it is a quality tool, and it is now a "must have" tool in my shop.
If your interested, I have attached some "user supplied" photos of the pocket hole joined stretchers and face frame of my base cabinets.
- I have owned the original Kreg jig since the early 90's and have loved using this tool. I was very hesitant to upgrade because I did not feel the newer version offered enough to justify the additional cost. After reading some of the reviews and seeing this tool being used (at Kreg's website), I decided to make the purchase. This new version is easier to use and is much more versatile than Kreg's original jig.
After completing several projects with this jig, I would suggest adding a clamping table. I made my table using an old Formica top that was lying around my shop. I purchased clamps and tracks directly from Kreg. This addition has made this tool ever more easy and fool proof to use.
- Great product, as good as I have heard it was! So much easier and quicker than traditional methods. When practicality out weighs appearance, the Kreg system is the way to go. With careful planning, appearance does not suffer, the Kreg system cannot enhance the beauty of a wood project, but it does not detract, know what I mean? G.B.
- I have used this set several times, now. It is amazingly easy to use and makes for strong joints.
2 Suggestions:
1. This set really shines if you are going to be making alot of repetitive pocket-holes. If this is the case for you, I would get this set. Otherwise, I would probably get the Kreg K3SP K3 Pocket Hole Jig Standard Pack and save about $50.
2. I would also get the Kreg mini jig. It is a small block for drilling just one pocket hole. It is less than $10 and speaking from experience, there are just some places where the multi-hole jig will not fit.
- easiest way to make shelfing, all you need is square corners and your good to go

5 comments about DeLonghi EW7707CM Oil-filled Radiator with ComforTemp Technology.
- This heater came out of the box with the control panel hanging off & bared wires. Makes me wonder about the quality of the manufacturers product & raises safety concerns about an item that is supposed to be left connected to a power supply. Needless to say I am returning for a refund.
- this is a great heater. no complaints. there was a slight oil smell the first time i used it but no smell whatsoever since.
- I live in the foggy city where temperatures are consistently low. I've been using this pretty much every day for a full year, so my opinion is based on heavy and frequent use of this radiator. I have nothing but positive things to say.
- It is space friendly, as it is somewhat compact.
- It is durable. I've kicked it around a bit, it doesn't tip very easily and is made of strong plastic and metal. It has never broken down despite my clumsiness knocking into it or knocking it into my furniture.
It is oxygen friendly. Unlike the two or three fan-based heaters I've had over the last 5 years, this does not suck the oxygen out of the room. My fan-based heaters left me warm but suffocating, and this does not.
- It is safe. I've accidently left it on walking out the door, and it has never shorted or burned anything except my sense of responsibility. I can't say its impossible, but within reasonable use my experience with it is that you'd probably have to place a box of tinder on it to actually get something to catch fire. The design is quite sensible, as the base is a little larger than the actual heated tower, discouraging you from accidently putting the radiator close to debris.
- As for heating power, here is a reference point: I use this in my bedroom with hardwood floors and drywall walls. The room is about 15 feet by 15 feet, and this little guy heats the room up in 5 to 10 minutes on the medium setting. I've never found it necessary to go any higher than medium.
This is a wonderfully priced solid radiator.
- I bought two of these years ago and am glad to get two more now. They are great for safe, even heat in rooms when I set the house on the cold side to conserve energy. The old ones are still working great too.
- I bought the DeLonghi Oil-filled Radiator with ComforTemp, the DeLonghi Micathermic flat panel model, and the Oil-filled Radiator without ComfortTemp. All of them work GREAT.
I have each one in a section of my @1800sq.ft.house, so that I can heat just the rooms that we are using, instead of turning on central gas heat.
The ComforTemp model heats up our entire great room/family room/dining room and kitchen, which is one big open space with hardwood floors and gets chilly.
The Micathermic model I use to warm up the hallway, bathroom, and kids' bedrooms, especially at night (on a low setting).
The non-ComforTemp model I use to warm up the master bedroom and bathroom.
They all do a fantastic job. Our house is warm, cozy, quiet and comfortable...MUCH more so that when we used the gas forced air central heating, which is incredibly loud, drafty, too hot and dry when it's on, and too cold when it's not.
There were a bunch of comments about the smell of the heaters when new. Well, there was a bit of smell on the first day using the heaters, but it's totally gone now, and it was never really that bad.
There were a bunch of negative comments about the heaters being noisy. Well, if the heater is really cold it does make a few popping noises when it starts heating up (which go away once it's warm) and there is a quiet clicking noise from the thermostat when the heater turns on and off. Seriously, anyone who is bothered by those tiny noises needs to get off the crack already. They are MINOR. It is unreasonable to expect perfect silence, although that's what you get 99% of the time with all three of these heaters.
Honestly, I couldn't be more pleased. I love these heaters and they were a great investment. I have already seen a drop in our utility bills, though our house is warmer and cozier than it was before.
I most highly recommend DeLonghi oil-filled radiators, as well as the micathermic flat panel.

5 comments about Alden Grabit Broken Bolt and Damaged Screw Extractors, 4-Piece Set.
- Works on short screws. I tried extracting SS 2.5" screws from pine and it plain old didn't work. Thank God for Vise Grips and patience.
- After snapping a few deck screws last summer I thought they might be handy to have a set of ez-outs. My fist annoyance was they were shipped by the "AsSeenOnTVGuys" with insufficient postage. So I left the postman the 22 cents and got them the next day.
With no immediate need I tested them by driving a few screws into some pine & cedar deck boards & purposely striping the heads. Following the direction I drilled out the head with the left hand bit and the switched to the cone end to extract the screw applied some pressure, no luck. So after experimenting I found I had to put a lot pressure the drill & go as slow as possible; best done by using my old cordless drill with a half charged battery. I had almost as much luck with the left hand drill end.
In the end they do work but you may still have to work at it.
- So about year and a half ago I hung a 19 flatscreen on the wall in the den. And it was a horrible experience.
You see, whoever the "engineer" was that designed it should be flogged and their engineer credentials shoved up their...
You had to screw two 1/4×3" screws (those are pretty big) into a 2×4 stud in the wall using a hex key. A hex key is the hardest tool to work with, and stripped out the head of the screw about 1/4" away from being tight. That's after pre-drilling the hole. So the whole mount has been loose all this time. And you can't undo it because the hex key stripped out the head. The words coming out of my mouth at the time would have made a truck driver blush.
So it finally came time that I wanted to fix it by doing it right and replace the crappy screws they sent with proper lag bolts you'd install with a socket wrench.
So I bought the Grabit screw extractors. Sure they're late night TV fodder, but figured I'd give it a shot, as the set was cheaper than individual screw extractors at Home Depot.
And they worked wonderfully.
I had those crappy screws removed in about 5 seconds.
Then using a proper method of a socket wrench had the whole thing remounted in about 2 minutes instead of the half hour I spent the first time cussing and yelling.
Anyways, the set of Grabits are [........], and every tool kit should have a set.
- Very cheap metal, high strength steel would have been better, first time I used it the extractor side broke because it is made of cheap metal!
- Haven't had the need to use them yet, but they look like they will work. They didn't come in a case as shown, just a thick, clear plastic bag.

5 comments about DeLonghi HHP1500 Mica Panel Radiator.
- I have been very impressed with this heater since I purchased it a month ago. It works well and heats the room nicely without much noise. The only complaint is that there is not an on/off button so I have to unplug it from the wall when I'm done using it. I would recommend it.
- I wish I had purchased this heater earlier. When my baby boy was worn three years ago, I used a classic ceramic room heater which was noisy and bright. It would wake him up and wake us up went it went on in the middle of the night. I researched oil-filled heaters from DeLonghi, but I ultimately settled on this Mica Panel heater, and I have been very happy. It is quiet and makes no noise. Hence, you can sleep through the night with it on. It generates no light, and thus it does not distract you either. I think it is a great product. I bought two, and am thinking about buying another.
- This is a nice compact unit and seems to work well. I have it in a 16x24 room that opens to my kitchen, dining area and hallway. Within the 1st hour, the temperature rose 1 degree. After 2 hours, the temperature was still the same. This must be becuase of the adjoining rooms. However, my furnace has not turned on since I turned this unit on. Since it is a radiator type heater, there are no fans and is silent. This is a nice feature!
The major downside to this, in my opinion, is that the face of the unit does get hot - too hot to hold your hand on. I have little children and I don't think it is a good idea to keep this on the floor with young ones around. It does have a nice feature to hang it on the wall, so this might be the solution. Good luck!
- This heater is quiet and warms the room nicely.
It would be better if it had a digital temperature setting. Also, I do not like the fact that the unit light remains on even if the settings are turned to the lowest/off. I have been unplugging the unit when it's not in use.
Overall, the best space heater I've used.

5 comments about Dremel 761-03 7,000/14,000 RPM Cordless Pet Nail Grooming Rotary Tool.
- There was not enough power in the Dremel to groom our Golden Retriever's nails. Product was returned for a full refund.
- We adopted a puppy in September. Our older dog HATES having his nails trimmed so I decided to try the new "filing" method these drills offer. It took 2-3 days of exposing our puppy to the sound & vibration of the tool, but after that he allowed me to file his nails. It's quick and easy. Little fido even fell asleep one time while I was doing it!
- I just ordered this tool last week and followed the tips of others (getting my dog used to the noise, giving her treats, only working for very short periods). Of course, the treats were "scarfed down" very quickly and then she wanted to quit.
The solution!! I lined a bowl with peanut butter! Not much, just enough to keep her busy for awhile. It allowed me to work longer & she didn't even care that I was playing with her feet. When the bowl was cleaned, we were both ready to quit. I'll do this every few days until her nails are perfectly trimmed.
Hope this works for you, too.
- I bought this item since I thought it would be a quick and painless way to cut my two indoor cat's nails. OMG...My first cat is a little skittish anyways and absolutely freaked out when I turned the Dremel on. It makes a lot of noise and my cat when nuts. My second cat is so laid back and not usually afraid of anything. I got one nail done before he went nuts. I couldn't get near them with this thing. It's too loud and not as easy to use as I thought. I'm going back to the clippers. They're quicker and less traumatic. Too bad I missed returning them back in time. Now I'm stuck with them. Maybe in a couple years I'll get a dog and be able to use them on it if I need to. What a waste of money.
- This is EXACTLY what I hoped it would be. Takes the nail right off without any pressure at all. I tried it on myself first and it took my nail right off..almost too easily. But I learned the pressure to give it. Battery seems to last a really long time. I am doing just a little tiny bit at a time until they (3 pooches)get use to the vibration. So far they don't mind too much, but I am very careful to not burn them by doing only a sweep over the nail.

5 comments about Toro 1800 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Curve Snow Thrower #38025.
- I used this blower 2 times before the belt burned up. Took it in to have it fixed and it last 1 more time. Maybe the snow here in Califorina was too wet but do not spend any money on this!! I read all the great write up's that people sent in and can only thank some one in Toro wrote them.
- I love this snow thrower. It is easy to use and I like not having to fill up the gas and pull the cord. I reccommend this to everyone.
- We just had our first snowfall in Chicagoland and this snow thrower came through better than expected. I was a little nervous as some reviewers said it did not work well on wet snow. We had 3-5 inches of wet, heavy snow last night and this thing chewed through it like the Klumps at Old Country Buffet. I cannot recommend this item enough!!!
- I bought the Toro 1800 electric snow thrower last winter, and it performed well for me all last winter. I got it out of storage today to deal with our first real snowfall of the season, and it again worked great.
I bought it here at Amazon.com, which was a great buy and free shipping to boot! (Before that, I had been out shopping and noticed this same model for sale at Home Depot. I asked them if they would match Amazon's price, and they said no, that Amazon was not one of their competitors. I said, "Alrighty then", and promptly ordered it from Amazon; it arrived in a few days, just in time for the next big snow).
My only real complaint is that it requires a cord, and a long one at that (for my long corner lot sidewalks, that is). The cord really isn't *that* big of a deal...somewhat of a hassle, for sure, though.
Otherwise, it works great! It does what it is supposed to: clear lots of snow. No, this thing doesn't handle medium or larger ice chunks. But, I have found that it really does do a pretty good job even on wet/heavy snow, as long as it is not too deep. On lighter snow, up to around 8 inches deep, this thing is a breeze (and, it will work with deeper snow, but requires more effort and time).
I was very skeptical about buying an electric snow thrower, but for my current location, where we get an average of 50 inches of snow per year, this does the job well.
If you think you can handle the moderate hassle of using a cord, then definitely get this snow thrower. You won't be disappointed with it's performance!
UPDATE:
I just read one review where a woman said she had trouble assembling the handle on this thing, and was, in fact, unable to assemble it. That reminded me that I also had difficulty assembling the handle. It was quite frustrating, and I felt like I might be doing it incorrectly or might be damaging the cord. In the end, I was able to get it together with some pretty decent force and wiggling. In hindsight, maybe a little grease on connection areas of the handle bars would have helped. So, yeah, assembly, particularly the handle assembly, was a big pain. But, once I got it together, it worked without issue.
- I ordered this product, and received it in 2 days with free shipping!, and just finished assembling it. Very easy to do. It is very light weight and easy to manuver. My parts question is, what spare parts should I have on hand? I'm quessing the rotor itself, the belt, the scraper, and maybe the the handle and shear pin? Were can these parts be found? Sears has a appliance parts web site and a another site called repairclinic.com but what about a local Toro dealer or the Toro web site itself? PS: No snow yet so I cannot say how well it works.

5 comments about AccuSharp 001 Knife Sharpener.
- It's easy to use and makes knives very sharp very quickly. I haven't tried to "slice a hair" but I bet my knives would now easily pass that test.
- The only knife sharpener I'd ever used was the long skinny kind you sometimes could find with knife block knife sets. I'd gotten used to using that type, but when I looked for similar sharpeners, the price seemed kind of high and when I saw this Accusharp I was intrigued. I thought the price was excellent and the product arrived quickly, was easy to use, and felt really safe. It was comfortable and stable in my hand and I liked that the knife you were sharpening was to be held motionless on a counter top or table top. I highly recommend this product.
- I'm a big Cooks Illustrated fan. Saw the review on America's Test Kitchen and jumped on this one. I own lots of overpriced underperforming kitchenware and gadgets. This thing does indeed perform. I have many different knives -- Forschner Fibrox, Henckels, etc...-- some pretty expensive. I have a $35 Henckels ceramic sharpener and a more expensive honing tool -- neither comes close to this simple device. I have sharpened all my knives with it and they are as close to razor sharp as they were when purchased. Gave this as a gift to a relative and will buy for others as the opportunity comes! For the price, it's a no-brainer.
- Prior to purchasing, i was skeptical that such a cheap item could achieve the desired result (sharp knives). Boy was I wrong. This thing will make a dull knife razor sharp in less than 30 seconds. It's super easy to use and feels very safe.
I highly recommend.
- I'll pit this sharpener up against any of the expensive contraptions. When the cutting edges wear out after 30 or 40 sharpenings, reverse the edges. When it wears out, so what. Just buy another one and you are still dollars ahead of anything else.
