  1. Never worry again about driving into the garage wall, water heater, air conditioner, or whatever else your thoughtful builder may have placed in your garage. Just take it out of the box, snap it together, and place it wherever you want to stop the car. It blinks to let you know when you are perfectly parked.

  2. I kept hitting the storage cabinets against the wall in my garage and they were getting dented and dirty. This alleviates hitting anything!!

  3. I'm a good driver, but you wouldn't be convinced of that if you saw the wall in my garage. Now, I'm saved from future embarrassment. The little stop sign gives me the confidence to park exactly where I need to every time.

  4. Got it for my wife who can't seem to judge distance in the garage very well. Bought this gem and it works like a charm! Recommended!

  5. The Park N Place is an inexpensive, convenient way to mark the spot to stop a car in a garage. It couldn't be easier to move around to accomodate different vehicle makes/models.

  1. We bought a couple of these to cover our woodpiles. No lie, we had them covered up fewer than 3 minutes when we got one of our nastier thunderstorms: winds over 60 miles an hour and 2 inches of rain in less than an hour. Because we had not perfected "tenting" the tarp it ended up holding up a large amount of pooled water; withstood the winds as well. We've had plenty of wind and rain since and had no problems. I'm sure they'll handle snow as well. These are sturdy and strong, no problems with the grommets. Highly recommended.

  2. I thought that this might be a little bit better, because of the thickness. The first time I used it tied down tight on my trailer,it ripped as bad as some of the cheap ones I have bought. One trip and that was the last.
Why do they make these so thin? I would rather pay a little more and get one that last awhile.

  3. Not intended for years and years of outdoor exposure. It works just fine for our needs. We replace it every couple of years. Price is right.
    No complaints, really.

  1. Globe fluorescent spiral bulbs yield the same brightness as ordinary 100 watt bulbs. The light from these energy saving bulbs is nice and bright, and I like the fact that they last a lot longer than ordinary bulbs.

  2. they burb out quickly at least when used in an upside down lamp, 3 burned out so far sylvanias keep going

  3. These are oversized light bulbs as compared to normal, but they are not monster size or anything. They are also brighter than the average spiral bulb. Price is pretty good. The part that you screw in the lamp is normal sized.

  4. All bulbs flicker and make cracking sounds, even when left on for a long time.

  5. I bought these bulbs to use in hanging pendant lights. The CFLs I had in the pendants were too long and hung out the bottom - just looked crappy. So I ordered these 'mini' lamps. Ha! Shame on me for believing 'mini' meant smaller. Not quite sure what Globe considers "mini" but these things are huge. They hung out of the pendant light further than the originals. I'll keep them because I can use them for some other fixtures. I ended up buying CFLs at Target - I think they're GE - much shorter and the pendants look much better.

5 comments about Hitachi DV18DL 18-Volt Lithium-Ion 1/2-Inch Cordless Hammer Drill.
  1. In two words...... BUY IT. This drill will make it an entire day on a single battery with fairly heavy use. It blows the Dewalt away.....period. It also has one of the highest (or highest) torque ratings of any drill in it's class. I will now get their Sawsall as well.

  2. In use at my work for years and the batteries still hold a charge well. Has tons of power and easy to use.

  3. I purchased this to replace a DeWalt that finally surrendered after a lot of abuse. First, this tool packs a wallop, very torquey and the hammer function works very well. It is also very well balanced and the batteries are light. I've never felt like the battery end was fighting me for control of the tool. The teenage mutant ninja turtle look put me off a bit, but now the tool is so grungy its not so bad. I have owned mine for a little less than a year and have had no complaints or problems. You get what you pay for. In this case, I think every dime spent on this tool was money well spent.

  4. Item recieved as described. Had an issue with UPC code, but the quickly responded and resolved the issue. Great customer service, quick in responding and resolving any issues that may arise.

  5. I got this drill last Spring as a replacement for my old hammer drill, I do most of the maintenance and repair work in a 3 story commercial building. It's a good "heavy-weight" tool and has alot of power to handle tough jobs such as drilling into thick concrete yet is light enough and easy to use for putting in a quick hole or driving just about any size screw, tapcon, etc.

The batteries charge within about 30 minutes so with 2 batteries I don't need to worry about not being without a charged battery in the middle of a job. It's durable and has survived a couple of drops when I knocked it off of a ladder.

A quick tip about pricing. Check our [...]. They are an authorized Hitachi dealer and sell reconditioned tools at deeply discounted prices. The tools are in exceptional, like-new condition, no noticeable scrathes, dents, etc and come with a 1 year Factory Warranty. I picked up this drill from them in a kit that included 2 batteries, quick charger, work lantern, reciprocating saw and a nylon bag for about [...].

I was a bit leary anout buying a reconditioned power tool but I haven't had the slighest problem with this hammer drill, and the saw is a nice bonus for when I don't have an outlet around for my corder saw.

5 comments about DELTA 50-760 1.5 Horsepower 1,200 CFM Vertical Bag Dust Collector, 120.
  1. Price was right and actually arrived before due date. Motor had damage that was not caused by shipping( Styrofoam was pristene)and unit was completely unusable. Amazon is shipping out a replacement, but with so many reviews complaining about damaged units, They need to communicate with Delta regarding this issue.

  2. Seems to be a very good product. Setup was not that hard but would recommend having a helper as it is a heavy piece of equipment. I am anxious to cut some MDF now that the dust storm will be contained. From using it on other woods I can only wish I had bought it sooner.

  3. This DC is great machine for a small shop. Setup was easier then I expected. It does take an extra set of hands to setup. I have used it with my planer and bandsaw and what a difference. I should have done this sooner.

The only negative is the specs say the machine runs on 110 or 220. What they do not tell you is to run on 220 you have to purchase a new switch for around $32. Not a big deal BUT it would have been nice to know so I could have had the switch here when the machine arrived.

  4. I'm relly impressed with the power of this machine. I plan to install a ductwork system for it over the holidays, but so far I've used it on the planer and the drum sander and it really does a fine job. I'm looking forward to having it installed as a permanent setup.

  5. This is a fantastic product. I was able to assemble this and be up and running in about 20 min. The internal spring bag clamp was very easy to use. Just make sure you empty the bag before it gets too full, or you'll have a real mess on your hands. Do not ask how I know this :)

The 1 micron bag is fantastic. The air in my shop (and the floor) is so clean now, I cannot imagine going back to a shop vac. The DC is much less noisy than a shop vac. It has more of a drone than a whine. I often leave mine running for long periods of time in between cuts and barely notice it. I had to install an over the blade collector on my table saw to collect all the dust. My shop vac might have done a better job when using only the dust port on the cabinet. However, with the cabinet and the over the blade collector, there's very little dust that escapes, even when cutting MDF. The miter saw is a different story. This thing is amazing at collecting dust from the miter saw. I built a "back stop" behind the saw and installed a 6" port on the bottom of the table just behind the saw. You can see the dust flying every which way off of the saw, then being sucked into the 6" port. It is a beautiful thing.

I highly recommend using 220v. I've got mine hooked up to 110v on a dedicated 20 amp circuit about 18 inches from the breaker and I still trip the breaker every once in a while. It isn't too much of a pain since the breaker is right there, but I assume a 220v setup would result in fewer trips.

Overall, I¡¦m glad that I bought it. I set up ducting and blast gates to each machine rather than wheel this thing from tool to tool. That results in me actually using the DC for nearly every operation. The air is much cleaner, and I no longer have a nose full of saw dust after a day in the shop. I¡¦m constantly amazed at how fast the bags fill up. To think, most of that stuff was ending up on my floor or in the air before¡K

  1. This sander arrived on my doorstep just hours before I started a project re-laminating a vanity counter top. I opened the box, switched belts and was sanding in under a minute. The flush side of the sander allowed me to sand right up to the backsplash and remove the old glue from the top.

The next job had me sanding the bottom rail of an above the fridge cabinet that the home owner wanted modified without taking it off the wall. With a larger sander, this would have been a real task. Holding the sander upside down at eye level, removing 1/2" from an oak rail was a breeze with this sander.

This is the perfect jobsite/small shop sander that payed for itself with two jobs and the included case is great for hauling the sander and extra belts.

  2. Lowes everyday price is now $99.99 and I go there anyway (not an employee). However, the many comments about overheating and track adjusting has convinced me to do more research and most likely pay a little more and be happy. Thanks.

  3. I purchased the sander on a whim. This is a great sander for certain jobs. The sander is small, has a narrower belt than other sanders, and can be controlled with one hand making this a great sander for delicate jobs that might require controlled material removal. I recently used it to sand flush 1/8" plywood glued as a back to a cabinent. I've used it to sand end grain boards that stuck out a little farther than desired. I did notice it becoming hot quick but my belt ran true once adjusted. If you have large panels to sand, buy a 3" or 4" belt sander. This won't replace your random orbit sanders either, but it has proven a very useful tool for certain jobs that other sanders can't perform.

  4. I saw this sander in the display at my local Lowe's and just had to have it. I've been a carpenter for over 25 years and know a good tool when I see one. Of course it's going to get hot your hands on top of the sander as apposed to in front of or behind the motor and heat rises. I don't have girly man hands so this is not uncomfortable. As far as the thickness of the top grip go's if it's to big for your little hands this might not be the sander for you. I took it out of the box as soon as I got home and put it to use. I'm glad I paid the $100.00 I did for it. It will pay for itself tomarrow then after that it's all profit. I recommend this sander for the proffesional carpenter that knows what he's doing just because of it's size it may not be suitable for first time users or unskilled home owners this is a pro grade tool and should be handled as such.

  5. I bought this sander when I was halfway through a boat-building project earlier this year. We used a combination of power and hand planers for fairing the framework, but had concerns about hitting metal fasteners buried in the woodwork. A full-sized belt sander was ruled out due to its bulk and aggressiveness. I had seen this sander at the Porter Cable booth at the local woodworking show and finally broke down and bought one through Amazon. I have not been disappointed. It has plenty of power and did everything we asked of it, but its small size was nice for fine work and when I had to lie on my back and clean up some stuff under the deck. It does get pretty warm after several minutes, but this is a minor gripe. For cleaning up large areas I would still use a full-sized belt or random-orbital sander, but for the small stuff in tight areas this thing is unbeatable. Being from Porter Cable I suspect it will be tough to wear out as well. Highly recommended.

  1. This tool has helped with a variety of projects. More to the point shopping on Amazon saved me $80 from the best price I could find in town.
Shipping was fast and the product was in perfect condition. I would not hesitate to buy another power tool from Amazon

  2. I was looking for a miter saw for a long time and was actually going to buy Delta 10 inch dual bevel saw. I currently own DeWalt drill and am very pleased with it. I purchased this saw for a very good price and it was actually cheaper than other 10 inch saws. (Brand new) Bosch saw was next in line but it's way expensive.

    Pros ---
1> Power. Has enough power to cut 2x4 easily. Haven't tried cutting 4x4 yet but looking at 2x4 cuts, that should not be an issue.
2> Easy to read miter scale. Large enough to read through sawdust.
3> Saw Blade. Comes with standard 12 inch DeWalt blade which is good enough for day to day cutting.

    Cons ---
1> Mobility. Awkward to pick up and carry around. Must be picked up horizontally. I would have been nice to have some handle in middle so that it could have picked up vertically.
2> No laser. At this price, it should come with laser to show where you are cutting.
3> Dust collection. It has dust collection chute but even when connected to shop vacuum, it doesn't do a good job.
4> No ruler no fence. This means you need to measure it and then cut it. I pasted paper tape on it as workaround.

Overall, I am very pleased with what I paid vs what I have received.

  3. This is a wonderful saw, very powerful, well engineered and easy to use. I would suggest that potential buyers seriously consider also purchasing the hold down clamp. Actually, Dewalt should include this with the saw since you really can't cut with precision unless the work is clamped to prevent drift.
    Dave B.

  4. I have used this saw a lot in the past few months. We totally remodeled our house and could not have done it without this saw. It is very smooth operating and adjusts easily. Good size and power for price.

  5. Mine is a couple years old now and has had no problems.

Once you get the fence set to square with the blade, if stays there pretty well. The miter rotation is easy to move and is quite accurate for most all projects, including frames.

The blade that comes with the saw isn't the greatest for fine woodworking, but is acceptable if you move the cut slowly. Certainly, a higher quality blade can be purchased if needed.

I mostly use mine for rough crosscuts on longer boards and some small frames. Truthfully, I like using the table saw for very precise angle cuts, but that's my fault with not getting it set up to near perfection, not the machine's.

One star off of perfect due to lack of quality dust collection. I don't know if anyone makes one that has good collection. Maybe the Kapex?

  1. Perfect for cooling my PowerPC which generates a significant amount of heat, nice in the winter for heating up a small office, but during summer the heat is a killer.
The fan is is big enough to blow down 3 surfaces on the MAC (bottom, front and side) and move the heat away from the computer and desk where it dissipates faster (and not on my feet and legs).
I have it on low and can not hear it unless the computer is totally off.

    Perfect purchase.

    Cheryl

  2. This fan works great. Only complaint I have its impossible to keep clean really needs a filter system or something.

  3. I keep this fan at my desk at work, and I think it is perfect for that. The Low setting is practically silent (similar noise to some CPU fans). It doesn't move a ton of air at this setting, but it is definitely sufficient for an office where we have AC anyway. My one complaint would be that the High setting is significantly louder, so I keep mine on Low all the time.

  4. This fan is great in the way it fits on your computer table and how it blows cool air at you while you work on the computer, surf the net, study, etc. I would highly recommend this fan and it goes for a great low price (I purchased it for only $12 at Wal-Mart last year).

  5. Works quiet and cool. small footprint. I would suggest for a desk fan if you get hot.
