5 comments about Rubbermaid 5E21 FastTrack 48-by-16-Inch Wire Shelf.
  1. The Rubbermaid product specialist for this FastTrack shelving unit has a total phobia about hanging these shelves alongside the similar Rubbermaid "Configurations" closet shelving sets available at a local "mart" store. The "Configurations" shelves and brackets are the same color and style, but I was vigorously discouraged by the highly trained specialist at Rubbermaid NOT to use them in my garage along with the FastTrack system. Since the wall in my garage is made out of the same material as the wall in my closet, I do not see what the issue is! I have followed the "Configurations" directions to a "T" and have not put more weight on the shelves than what is allowed. Despite her warning that THE SHELVING WILL COLLAPSE (the sky is falling!) it has not done so. Is this a ploy to get people to purchase the more expensive FastTrack system brackets and shelves? I have tons of FastTrack in my garage but the shelving size options are very limited plus the brackets and shelving are much more expensive to order online than if they were available at a local store (which they are not). I get frustrated with a product that is only half available in the store (most of the hanging accessories can be found at a major home store) and the rest (the shelving) has to be purchased online or from the manufacturer. Unforunately, a large amount of the products that I ordered arrived at my home completely damaged by UPS because of Rubbermaid's poor packaging of the larger items. My opinion is that Rubbermaid should make these systems more universal so that it is more widely available AND interchangable from closets to garages. I challenge you to call Rubbermaid with a few questions of your own and see how well they can help you. My experience with two phone calls was one that showed me that they are impatient and lack the information needed to be helpful in any way. Plus the person I dealt with interrupted incessantly rather than listen to my questions. Not exactly what I would consider a specialist. Keep in mind... Amazon makes you return damaged items for replacement as a whole rather than just replace pieces as needed. You will have to give yourself lots of extra time if you plan to purchase these items from them to allow for returns if necessary. You will certainly become a shipping "specialist" once you are done packaging up and shipping back any damaged goods. Good luck!

  2. Very pleased with product. My husband and I found this easy to install with little home improvement skills.

  3. I plan to buy another dozen of these. They hold a lot of weight and are very sturdy.

  4. Great product, easy to put together and very sturdy. Very clean look.

  5. The brand name is as reliable as ever; but the shipping carton was so flimsy that the end rung at one end was bent. It did bend back and the only objection is that it isn't perfectly straight. However, it does not compromise the use of this high-quality product at all.

  1. It's a great product but it's hard to find in stores. I'm glad we have access to it through Amazon.

  2. My garbage disposal was smelling way nasty. I didn't know what to do about it. I tried orange and lemon peels, bleach, vinegar...no luck. I saw coupons for this product sometimes in the newspaper but I couldn't find it, even at the superwalmart (for a "super" store, they never seem to have anything). It's really easy to use and I could smell that it was actually clean, not just covering up odors with perfumes/scents. To make it worth the shipping, I bought several packages of this and then I also ordered 3 of the dishwasher cleaners which also work very well by the way. That's made by Summit too. That's not a brand I'm familiar with, but I'm liking these 2 products so far.

  3. Works okay but I think pouring a little Bleach mixed with water while the Gargage Disposer is running works just as good. I probably won't buy again.

  4. I really love this product. I use other disposal deodorants like Plink! a couple times a week, which work great. But when the sink gets a bit more rank than normal (and a Plink! just won't cut it), this product aggressively foams both drains out with one application. It has a fresh aroma - slightly acidic but very subtle. I'm sensitive to perfumes, but I'm happy to report that this product is not overly scented. You have to follow the instructions to the letter. Don't rush it - let the product do it's job. My one gripe is that it's getting harder and harder to find in the stores in my area.

  1. I've had this for over a year now. The water itself is great. The problem with this unit is that the replacement indicator stopped working long ago. It flashes green when it's on but the red light never comes on. We've figured out that the flow of water gets slower the older the filter is and replace it when that happens.

It's also a good idea to clean the entire unit from time to time, it gets a build up of bacteria.

  2. Tastes better than straight tapwater, more like spring water now, but still not very good tasting. It works fine, but with Anaheim tap water, it's just not enough.

  3. Brita aquaview is the best filtration system that you will ever buy and is so simple to install it will only take you 5 minutes is and awesome product in my personal opinion in you need a water filter for your home check on this product you will never regret buying this product.

  4. I have had the Brita Aqua view for around three years now. And the only time I have ever had any complaint other than the replacement indicator not seeming terribly accurate, was when I accidentally ran hot water through the filter. HOT WATER WILL RUIN THE FILTER!! At somewhere between 15 to 20 dollars per filter, it's a mistake I only made once. The filters have a good life span aside from that. I have been very pleased with the quality and taste of the filtered product. And 2 of my years with it were in Atlanta, where the water is notoriously bad.
And how many other on tap water filters offer a sprayer option? I use that feature almost exclusively, I believe it cuts water usage when rinsing dishes by about 30%. That alone puts it a step above. If used properly I think the Aqua View is as good or better than any other available.

  5. The first 3 or 4 weeks were great the product worked great, saving me a ton of money on bottled water and space in the fridge from the gallon model. I found the model tasted alot less charcoal like than the gallon model. But unfortunately after 3 or 4 weeks the light turned yellow which is fine because we drink alot of water and I didn't expect it to last long but the water that would come out would smell like rotten eggs, now I know Florida water is not the best but my tap water smells fine. I shouldn't have to run my water for 5 minutes before pouring a glass. Also the model is a bit bulky making it harder to do dishes. Last but not least it makes the pipes vibrate in brita mode, I try to turn it on as slowly as possible but unless its barely trickling those pipes will vibrate and if they burst I know brita's not going to pay for them.

5 comments about Sears Craftsman Liftmaster Chamberlain Garage Opener Safety Beam Kit 41A5034.
  1. Our garage door had problems closing. Initially, it started out because of the daylight shining on one of the sensors, but after a while, the door wouldn't close regardless of the time of day/light. I spliced these sensors into my existing wiring and it's been working great ever since. It took about 5 minutes to change the sensors.

  2. This product is easy to assemble and install with the included hardware and it worked excellent!!!!

  3. Ordered the Safety Beam set, because the receiver of my set was missing the lens and I geuss it was unable to focus the senders beam. I wont say how the lens was lost, a tail for another time, anyway I recieved the set in a timely manner and within fifteen minutes I had relaced the unit. Everything works great and has since the replacement. I would highly recommend this to everyone. You will need three tools to complete the job: A screw driver (common or phillips), something to strip and cut the wires, and something to crimp (squeeze) the splices. Gathering the tools took more time than the actual repair.Sincerly WWW

  4. I replaced my old sensors with new sears craftsman sensors...works amazing.

Comes with a easy self-intall manual.

  5. We had to replace the beam kit on our relatively new Sears garage door opener, and this kit worked perfectly at a reasonable price. A life saver, as the beam kit could not be found at any Sears stores in Chicago!

5 comments about Mibro 416371 8-Inch Stacking Dado Blade Set.
  1. This dato set will cut datos but is hard to set up due to the chippers only having two sides. Most datos do not require shims to make a standard cut. This set is you get what you pay for. Not worth the money.

  2. for $40 I figured this might be worth it. This set will indeed cut perfectly flat bottoms. I do not exactly use my dado set a bunch, but the carbide on most of my chippers is chipped. chipped chippers are no fun and the amount of use my set recieves it should still be flawless. also even laying down blue tape there is still quite a bit of tear out on hardwood plywoods when cutting cross grain. it does quite well along the grain however. the case is a nice touch and keeps the set nice and safe. so in summary, this is not a long term investment and it will cut nice flat grooves. it cuts nice flat dadoes as well, but you will get unacceptable chip out if you use plywoods with their thin veneers. a good set for the occasional use in solid wood. I just recently upgraded, I figured that every time I chipped out on a $100 sheet of cherry ply I was not exactly saving money.

  3. I had no delusions that this dado blade would be as good as one that costs $300. I've only made a couple of cuts with it and it works just fine. Especially for a price under $50 for a carbide-tipped stacked dado. As someone else noted, the case it came in is pretty cheesy. The clips that hold it closed fell off the second time I opened the box. I noticed that all the hardware is held on with tiny screws, so I am just going to replace the cheap hardware with something a little better. Then, I'll use the dado set to build a whole new box and hope that my work will be better than theirs. Not necessarily a foregone conclusion, but I can try. Then maybe next year, I can afford a Forrest dado set.

  4. wow what a great deal i looked and could not find anything in my price allowance then this so i bought it and boy i am so happy i did excellant product see ya steve

  5. It is not a $200 set. It is not supposed to be. For the home wood worker, it is great. True, the inside of the cut is not purfect, but great for gluing (side are smooth as silk). And I did not have to spend an arm and a leg for the set. Very easy to get just the right width with all the shims. Would buy again.

  1. This scope produces very clear images, and the flex cable is very druable. I'm expecting the long life from this product that all my other Milwaukee tools.

  2. I'm very pleased with both these tools . The driver is amazing especially for its size . It drills well with the hex bits but having said that it is a driver not a driller . The batteries last forever !! I was concerned about switching over from nicad batteries and needing to carry more than one charger around with me . From what I'm seeing you can charge these batteries and go . Leave the charger home . The camera is awesome . This affordable little camera will solve alot of problems without tearing apart walls and floors etc. No suprise really they were made by milwaukee .

  1. Great item - works very well. I'm already smoothing chipped edges for friends' glassware & crystal since I finished repairing all of mine. This item will make your glassware usable so that you don't worry about cuts on fingers & lips! Highly recommend!

  2. This file does the job quickly and easily. However, it does not POLISH the newly-ground edges -- it just smooths them -- so the repaired areas of crystal will have a dull, milky finish.

  3. I have a pint glass I bought on vacation which got chipped somehow. I bought this file and wore the sharp chipped edges of the glass down, and though there's a small dip around the glass's rim from filing, the glass is smooth and usable. Much better than having to throw it away! I recommend this item.

  1. This product does not work properly. They do not turn on and off as described.

  2. I bought six of these for my windows this season. They all worked great. No cords, and the light sensor turned them on and off. Will use them for many seasons to come.

  3. These things work great. I use rechargable batteries so I don't have to keep buying new batteries. They go off on their own during daylight hrs and flicker nicesly at night. From outside the house (I have them in windows) they look natural and beautiful.

  4. I purchased two and used them side-by-side in my kitchen window. They performed as advertised, going off and on automatically. The "pewter" (plastic) base looks very good for the price, and I especially like the flickering effect.

  5. received one set as a gift. Liked them so much we bought more. Battery operated means no cords hanging from the window. They are light sensitive so they go on and off automatically or can be turned off manually. Can set to flicker like real candles. Overall a very safe, no hassle Christmas decoration.

5 comments about Bench Dog 10-025 Push-Loc Offset Push Stick For Table Saws, Router Tables With Docking Station.
  1. I bought the Bench Dog push stick for use on my table saw after a close friend had lost part of two fingers in an accident on his table saw. I have since used it to cut wide and narrow parts with great ease. I really like the device. The non-slip material on the bottom makes it very easy to control both feed and position. The handle is in a great position allowing positive control without getting in the way of my saws blade gaurd. I wasn't sure about buying a piece of plastic for such an important use but I was pleasantly surprised at how sturdy it is. I know I'll get many years of good use and protection.

I've also found it very useful on my router table, another one of those devices that could mame you if you lose focus.

  2. We all know how dangerous table saws can be. I had a close friend lose the tip of his index finger and completely obliterate the bone in his ring finger in a table saw accident. This tool is irreplaceable. The thin profile and offset handle keeps everything away from danger. It grips nicely and thanks to the bright orange color is easier to spot if your shop is cluttered. The tape measure and pencil storage is a bit of a joke, though it's a nice thought. I didn't mount mine to the fence, instead I put it below the deck in a spot less prone to getting in the way or getting broken. For the price, it's a little high for a fancy piece of plastic, but it's certainly a lot cheaper than stitches and the likes.

  3. I bought this over a year ago and I'm thinking about getting another one so I don't need to keep moving mine between machines. I like the fact that it is narrow enough to do thing cuts in the table saw. The offset handle also helps by staying (and keeping your hand) out of the way from the cut. I agree with a previous reviewer that a couple of magnets on the base would be great to keep this on the side of a machine.

  4. Maybe it's just me, but I found no use for the base. I can see why someone would design a set like this, it sounds good in theory, but the fact of the matter is that when I am cutting wood, I only need the stick, and once I am done, I don't need this wobbly storage for either pencil or tape. Stick is really good, though I am sure there are others on the market, or the one you made yourself that serves the same purpose. Again, don't get me wrong, this is a well made product, I just doubt you will use "docking station" all that much, so think whether the push stick is worth your money. That's why I gave it 4 stars only.

  5. It's just a push stick right? Why spend $20 on it when I can just use a wood scrap. I've used it multiple times now and found it's much easier to control the wood and it's thin profile allows me to get it into some tight spots. The tray is definitely a gimmic, but I expected that when I bought it, so I can't hold that against the product.

5 comments about XANTREX XPOWER POWERSOURCE MOBILE 100 852-0281.
  1. I purchased this for my laptop notepad. When traveling, Keep in mind if you have dial service up while traveling. It won't work when cruising through the internet unless you have mobil wifi. Otherwise you can use it for movies, music and basic paperwork and Microsoft office. It can work well if you find wifi near a UPS office,Kinkos,Banks, airport, cafe, or office building that has service within 500 feet. Yes, you can use it outside. And plug in the Power source mobile unit for instant power.

  2. I purchased this product with a two-fold purpose. 1) to maintain a full charge on my Blackberry and to provide for emergency power for my notebook. I have a FIVE PLUS star rating for the former and a "0" star for the later. When I found myself in a situation where I had to have another hours juice for my notebook, I couldn't even get a second. So, I'm not thrilled, but it'll do.

  3. BACKGROUND
I been looking for a simple portable 110V power source that would charge via home or car. This unit is definitely the best on the market although limited in power output and run time. If you need to power something simple it is great but you cannot exceed the 60W output or it shuts off.

I have used these to demo web cameras which draw only 4Watts so it is a great device for that. It is also very good for a small DVD player or other portable device like Ipods or mini-TV's. Unfortunately, most laptops today will draw 60-90W so the charger simply does not power up. If it does it will shut down quickly.

    ADVANTAGES
    - Compact: Very small for a 40W-Hr supply (40W run for 1 hour)
    - Reliable: Once charged it seems to hold a charge well for 2-3 weeks at at time.
    - Good (but limited) run times: If power draw is low (@10W) it will run nearly 4hours.

    DISADVANTAGES
    - Cannot keep plugged in 24/7 to use as a battery backup since this may overcharge the battery.
    - Xantrex does a poor job listing run times vs power draw or even explaining that with low power draw you can be quite long run times. This is a common principle in the backup battery area explained well by companies like APC.

    SUMMARY
This is a great little supply for very portable devices. If you do not expect a battery backup solution or a big portable supply then you will be please with the product.

  4. I got this both to use as a secondary source for my laptop, and as a portable power source for my game system. I've been able to run a Slim PS2 on this baby for about 1 hour and 25 minutes on a full charge. It does what it's supposed to. If you can also find this one, you'll save about a good $30 than buying the one with Duracell on the box.

It can from time to time run a bit warm and is advised (in the manual) that you do not recharge the battery when it's "hot". I'm sure the reason is obvious but a usual 15min cool down time should be okay for recharge after wards. The only thing I really don't like about this unite is it's low battery warning indicator. It's similar to a digital alarm clock noise and that goes on for some time. But when it comes on, you basically got like 20 seconds to shut down or plug it into your car (because yes it's an inverter as well).

Charging is relatively slow when you have your source plugged into it while charging in the car (it does come with a car charger). I've never had an instance where the low car battery shutoff feature was activated, but it's there none the less. You can only "use and charge" in your car. You can't use and charge while plugged into a wall. All functions when plugged into a wall are disabled. Strictly for charging.

To finish this lengthy review, if you're looking for a reliable and inexpensive portable power source to charge all you mobile devices and utilize some big ones, this certainly does the trick.

  5. I got two of these under the Duracell brand names and several more Xantrex branded when Amazon had them on sale for about $50 each. They work well for some devices, but don't work at all with some power hungry laptops like my Dell Inspiron 9400/E1705. This particular laptop has an AC adapter rated at 80 watts. Although still under 100 watts, the device runs for about 1 second then shuts off. There is also no direct DC output from the battery which would have made it more versatile. They also don't provide enough power to run an aerobed inflator. But, for $50, it's not a bad deal.

After discovering some output frequency problems with some other model xantrax/duracell inverters, I tested 8 units of this model and was pleasantly surprised that this model still appears to be crystal controlled. Most of the units were within +/- 0.05 Hz of 60 Hz. The worst was 60.14 Hz which is still within a quarter percent of nominal so that isn't too bad. The other new model xantrex (and Jensen brand) inverters I tested had output frequencies ranging from 58 Hz to 64 Hz which is very poor.
