- This works great as a driver and as a drill. The power is controlled by the pressure on the trigger. I use it with an extension cord to make up for the short cord. After having bought other drivers, this will probably be the final drill or electric driver I will ever buy.
- Before owning this Black & Decker drill, I got a couple Craftsman cordless drills as a gift. With some planning, the larger cordless drill was handy. But ultimately the irony was that the cordless drill and its advantage of convienince was actually inconvienient since it was never charged when I wanted to use it immediately. I began to realize that I had to have a corded drill.
I bought this drill at a local big-box home improvement store for at Amazon's price and brought it home.
Out of the box it includes the drill, a chuck, small instruction manual and the registration card. This is certainly a no-frills drill, but its got it where it counts.
7 amps of power rocks. Plus it has a great handle for the other hand when you really need to control the drill or want to apply more pressure. The cord length will require an extension cord (like all drills), but the drill chassis seems like it is built rock solid. This is my new favorite toy! It comes with a two-year warranty, and given the price/name brand, I wouldn't recommend this unit for commercial use (go with DeWalt, Hilti, or something of that ilk). But for occasional around-the-house use, it can't be beat.
You could spend more for a household drill, but you don't need to.

- I don't normally feel compelled to write a review unless something is really good or really bad. This is the former. It's one of those things you wonder how you did without once you use. I still hate cleaning my gutters and of course, it's really no fun climbing a ladder but this makes it so much sturdier that I no longer dread each climb. Simple to put on/take off and appears to be very well made.
I'm a bit surprised anyone would consider it a problem that you can't lower the ladder to it's lowest position with this device installed as it is so easy to install/remove. If I'm going to need a ladder that short I'll probably use my stepladder anyway.
Great product, I'm never climbing a ladder without one of these again!
- I bought this after trying to climb a 26' ladder and deciding to go down at 1/2 height as it felt like a pure suicide.
The stabilizer fit on my generic ladder wihtout any problem (it is designed to fit onto many different types of steps and locking mechanism is very well designed).
The only beef I have with it is that rubber ends detach way too easy. They feel off twice on me in one day and you have to folder the ladder to re-attach them since once off, they expose sharp metal edges. I will be gluing mines in since I don't see any reason for them to not be permanent anyway.
The stabilizer also comes with a hook as well, you can move the hook to either side of stabilizer.
- I purchased this after I had the roofing company repair my gutters. The workers had this stabilizer on the ladders and rested them on the roof. This enabled a large angle as to avoid the landscaping in the front of my house.
In using them, I realized that in that position (which is probably not the intended use) the feet tend to slip off. As another reviewer mentioned I am going to try to glue mine although the feet are a wearing item and are sold separately.
All in all this was a good purchase.
- I bought this ladder stabilizer, to help when I cleaned the aluminum gutters on my house. I've had issues before where my ladder would dent the gutters when put against them. This stabilizer did a fair job of keeping the ladder away from the gutters, with the stabilizer arms pushing against the roof, but it would have been nice if the standoff distance was a little greater, or better yet, if the arms were adjustable for different situations. The plastic arm caps were too soft and got cut pretty fast. They should have been made out of a harder material, I had to duct tape the caps on to protect them. The stabilizer's pluses, though, outweigh it's negatives. Easy to install or remove. Real value compared with other models I looked at, that probably wouldn't have worked as well as this one.
- The ladder stablizer came in the mail very quickly. It was packaged very well and was very easy to put together on the top rung of my extension ladder. The part, however, was a bit too long not allowing the ladder to retract fully (slide togther to its original shortest length - i.e now one rung larger). Even with that inconvience, the part worked as described on the internet. It was very convient to take apart and put together. One problem though. I had the ladder flat on my roof during the day causing the rubber tips to "partially melt" and become somewhat deformed. And now do not hold to the ends of the stablizer very well. Will need duck tape to hold the tips to the ladder.

5 comments about Waterpik CF-201 Cascadia Dual Mode 8-Inch Showerhead, White.
- Okay, so I know it's not perfect, but it's great! Consider this: Purchased it in January of 2005 for the only shower/tub in a household with three people and it's still going strong! (This is nearly three years later.) It takes no tools and no mechanical skill to put the thing on, which is good in itself. It extends well into the tub and I find that I have much less water going all over the place since I put this in to replace a regular showerhead. The waterfall is lovely. I have used the other setting, but didn't want to ruin this inexpensive device by messing with it too much, so stopped that. Also have tried over the years to keep the arm in one position so that I don't weaken the flexible tubing. I read from others that it could become weak, so I didn't want to make that happen. Once in a while a houseguest would move it and that would make me have to adjust it again, but it still manages to hold itself up. As far as how it looks, I would rather not have the gray color in the flexible tubing, but hey--look at the price!!! Someday when this thing finally bites the dust I may replace it with a chrome model, but for now I feel this has been an almost perfect purchase. If nothing else, it is a very inexpensive way to see if you like a waterfall showerhead.
- For a company with a good reputation, I'm very disappointed in Waterpik. The large showerhead is quite heavy and the gooseneck can barely support its weight, so unless you can mount it fairly high up on the wall, the showerhead won't stay at a proper horizontal angle. Or it will stay up for a while, then slowly sag. It has recently developed an annoying whistle; those holes are tiny, so they are probably clogged, but how does one clean this unit since it doesn't come apart? Stay away from this one, and buy something else.
- This shower head is easy to mount. Easy for the whole family to use and best of all,
It feels fantastic.
- This is a great product. Does just what it is supposed to do. No problems.
- This shower head is so good I bought two - even though Amazon.com couldn't ship to the UK, and Amazon.co.uk doesn't stock it !!
It gives a nice wide strong stream, which is easily directed with the flexi-hose.
Self installation very easy.

4 comments about The Outdoor Knots Book (Mountaineers Outdoor Basics).
- This is the best book on knots for climbers available! It's also great for hikers and boaters. There is a lot of information on rope materials and construction (not just climbing ropes but all that are used outdoors). It also has a useful chapter on rope handling, from coiling to tossing, to help prevent tangles. And the selection of knots is large but not overwhelming, with helpful tips on why (or why not) to use a particular knot. Good photos and detailed written instructions make it easy to learn the knots (some knot books are rather confusing). This should be required reading!
- I concur in the following review, and so should you:
Written by Clyde Soles (rockclimbin.com member csoles). This is the best book I have ever encountered on the subject. Many misinformed posts on ropes and knots could have been avoided if this book had been read beforehand. Well done, Clyde.
- I was looking for a good book to learn the knots needed for climbing and rafting. Of the several that I examined, this had the best descriptions telling you both how to tie them and also why (or why not) to use a particular knot. It also isn't overwhelming like some of the other books that show hundreds of knots I'll never need.
- As a former boy scout, I took to this book like a duck to water. I wanted to provide the knot knowledge to my kids and grand kids. This is a fantastic book and I'll put it to good use. It might even save your life some day. Be prepared.

- I've used it on two projects using a total of about 150 staples. When using half inch staples into poplar wood they didn't always go all the way in. However when I adjusted the strength of the pull I had no problem (see lever at back of stapler. This is a cool feature.) I used five sixteenth staples on my second project and had no problems using the low setting. I had no problems with jamming on either project. I gave it four stars for now as I've only used it on two projects and can't speak to durability.

5 comments about K-D Tools 3253 End Cap Oil Filter Wrench.
- I highly recommend this product! It is made with quality craftsmanship. I especially recommend it for any 07 - 08 Toyota Tundra 5.7L V8 owners. This tools fits perfectly on the canister cover and will not slip.
- There are many pros to the K-D End Cap Oil Filter Wrench: It is bright, like polished stainless steel. That makes it easy to see, especially if dropped into a dark place. Try looking for a black wrench that has fallen into a dark engine well. It cleans up nicely. All of the oil and grit is easy to see. The K-D is only 5/8ths of an inch deep. Why is this good? That's all the grip that is needed. I bought a whole set of oil cap wrenches in a pretty red case from Sears trying to save a few bucks. The wells were over 1 inch deep. On many of today's new motors, there is not enough room to get a deep-well wrench on the filter. For example, I bought two brands of oil cap wrenches trying to find one that would fit a 29-HP Kawasaki engine on a Scag Turf Tiger. They both failed. One wouldn't even go onto the oil filter. The one that would go on would not come off after loosening one turn. So, refusing to give up, I tried the K-D. It fit perfectly. As far as I'm concerned, the rest of my oil cap wrenches are garbage. I'll buy only K-D - "Made in the USA" - from Amazon.Com. You get what you pay for.
- Filter cartridge on Toyota 3.5liter 6cyl engine requires a cap wrench to replace the oil filter. I have two cars with this engine ('08 Toyota Avalon & '08 Toyota RAV4) and I have gone thru 4 locally purchased cap wrenches to do 7 oil changes. Some failed because the poorly spot-welded rachet wrench attachment shears off, and others had a problem where the socket cup slips because it is a little bit too big for the filter cartridge. This new socket wrench is tight on the cartridge and all connections are very solid - it's a good quality tool and I highly recommend it. Don't waste your time and money getting any of those other cheap Chinese-made sockets at local auto parts stores.
- This tool fits perfectly on the oil canister on our 2009 Toyota Sienna and on the oil filter on our 2007 (4 cylinder engine) Toyota Camry. You'll save over $40.00 buying it on Amazon compared to buying it elsewhere. I agree with "Chops" though, as the part is shorter in length than what the picture shows.
- The only filter wrench to buy if you own a 5.7L Toyota engine from a Sequoia or Tundra and do your own oil changes.

5 comments about SPT SF-608R Portable Evaporative Air Cooler.
- This unit as purchased as a gift for a friend in Colorado and I think the rating can be summarized with her first two comments after she received it.
"Gosh, it takes a lot of water *giggle* " and a little later, "aaaaaaahhh, my room feels so cool now."
Thank You for just what was needed.
Roger
- We bought this unit for our daughter's dorm room and it is working perfectly. She and her roommate make sure to keep the water reservoir filled so that the chilling unit stays operational, otherwise it functions as a fan. Worth the money.
- We're very happy with the air cooler. It really functions as a higher powered, cooler fan, it's not like an air conditioner at all. We primarily use it in a very large space with a small window unit air conditioner & a ceiling fan. The combination of the 3 keeps the place feeling cool. We've recommended it to several friends & may order more for the bedrooms.
- My wife and I were looking for a portable unit that would cool us off a bit in the afternoon and especially while we slept; one that was cost effective and affordable. We've been using the SPT SF-608R for about two months now and it's been good. Doesn't get as cold as we'd hoped, but it is not an air conditioner; it uses evaporation to lower the temperature - the addition of ice quite increases its effectiveness.
It is easy to move around, it is very easy to use and it definitely takes the edge off. We're satisfied with the purchase and happy to have it around.
In fact, it's getting hot in here so I'm going to go turn it on right now...
- This is a great cooling system for the price. It's quiet enough that you can have it running while you're watching TV and not have to crank the volume all the way up. Also, the company that makes the air cooler is easy to work with as well. If there happens to be something wrong with the system, they'll replace it BEFORE you even send back your original system, so you don't have to go without. Very nice and a lot of bang for your buck! Side note, I live in a non-humid climate, which helps how well it works.
