  1. Great extension cord that is durable and fits on my cord storage wheel. Love the lighted end that helps with evening use. Glad I purchased this one.

  2. It is long enough for me to reach all of my yard. I use if for my weed eater/trimmer

  1. First one i received was DEFECTIVE, Amazon sent me a NEW one FAST and without problems, thanks

  2. Product was as expected..........easy to hook up and works like the others I have......had to replace one that I had in use for 7 years.....run my outside landscape lights with several of these.

  3. This is the 4th power pack I've had to order. It seems that the timer quits working or it gets a short inside after a 3 or 4 year period. The product is excellent, but work needs to be done on making them last longer. I realize it runs 24/7, but I have other things that run 24/7 also and they don't die in 3 or 4 years. It is not overloaded, but indeed under the rated capacity. Hope Intermatic gets this and works on improving their already good product.

  4. Within a month the timer wouldn't turn on the light. Seems the plastic wheel is just not substantial enough to handle a number of cycles. Now I've got it on a light sensor switch and have to hear the motor running the timer. Not what I hope for.

  1. Box say 86db, I can't believe it is more than 8.6db. This is junk and I feel as if I was ripped off.

  2. This item is greatly underpowered. I would buy something that would wake me next time.

  3. This item works as advertised but the alarm does not appear to be as loud as indicated. I bought this item as an alarm for my freezer in the basement but cannot hear the signal if you are upstairs. The led will stay on for about 8 hours without power before the battery runs down.

  4. This works as it should, except that the description said it has a very loud alarm. In fact, it is a very quiet alarm (about the same volume as a small, battery-operated travel alarm clock). This would probably be fine if you plan to use it in a room that you are in. But I wanted something that will be installed outside the house, and still audible inside. It's too quiet for that.
Otherwise, it is a good unit.

  5. I haven't really had to use this yet because the power hasn't gone out, but just from tripping the GFI, it seems like it will work fine. Have it for my garage freezer that we don't use too often, but has lost electricity twice, ruining all the stuff in it.

4 comments about Bare-Tool Makita BJV180Z 18-Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless Jig Saw (Tool Only, No Battery).
  1. I bought the 6 piece LXT set a year ago and have been very happy with those tools. I felt like I got a good deal on those tools, but the Jigsaw alone (with no batteries) cost nearly 35% of what I paid for the rest of the set. I don't feel like I got a good deal, but the tool itself works pretty good. I've cut through 2.5" poplar with no problems. The battery seems to last as long with the jigsaw as the other tools in the set like the recipro saw.

  2. I own a lot of tools using the Makita 18 Volt LXT platform. My experience with both the chargers and batteries is good. No electrical problems of any sort.

The Jig Saw...this saw reminds me of my corded Bosch 1590 jig saw. The cuts are good, the weight is similar (enough heft to stay steady and smooth) with easy control of the tool. The Makita uses T shank blades (like the corded Bosch) and I use Bosch blades in the Makita because I find them to be excellent.

The Makita has both a dust blower and a LED lighting system to help you make accurate cuts. I especially appreciate anything that makes the work easier to see...better vision = better results. Makita makes it easy to stay on your cut lines.

The Bosch 1590 is considered the "standard" to measure jig saws. While I generally prefer corded tools, this Makita is an excellent choice for the times I want to go cordless.

If you already own some Makita LXT tools, this bare version of the jig saw is an excellent addition to your bag. The tool is well built and a pleasure to use. I have used both Dewalt and Bosch cordless jigs and I prefer my Makita to either of them.

  3. I have always been happy with Makita tools, and once again they did not dissapoint. Ergonomically excellent, and able to stand up to the tough jobs!

  4. Im a craftman but trade and i use a jig saw almost everyday this is a good jig saw to own,it is lite and it cuts as good as any corded saw that i have ever use,and even better no cord to drag around.the quality is excellent.

5 comments about Sonin 50211 Rapitest 10% to 28% Pinless Analog Wood, Concrete, Plaster, Carpet, and More Moisture Meter.
  1. I needed to know how much moisture was in my logs on my house.I did not want to spend alot of money and I found this little gadget. It works great.

  2. Basically it works, however, it's not very useful, b/c it's not accurate at all! I use it to detect the wall with moisture in my basement, got nothing (means dry, <10%), but the inspector detected it 20-30% (don't know which moisture meter he used). And also I put two legs into water directly, only got 25%-28%, which is not true, it should be >>28%, I would not recommend it for any serious use.

  3. My device came from Amazon with a faulty probe connector, but I noticed the problem 2 months too late (after just a couple uses, but after taking readings with the device). Hopefully Sonin RMA can just send me a new probe cable as I used a continuity tester to diagnose the problem. Their performance remains to be seen..

As a test I would hold the probe against conduit or metal ducting to make sure it is reading properly (needle @ 10, pegged to right), then move the probe connector to be sure that the connection is not intermittent. Also don't leave it on, or put it in a box where it can get turned on, it will chew through a 9V battery in a couple days no problem. A disapointment, even at this price...

  4. I'm a paint contractor so it's important to know and be able to show the customer surfaces are dry enough to paint. I've been using a moisture meter I paid around $100 for ten years ago. This meter is at least as accurate. For my purposes it does the job and $25 is a great price. I don't know how durable it is but for occasional use it feels rugged enough.

  5. I own a water damage restoration business [...] and we keep these units around for stand by units. They are accurate but not very sturdy. At this price you can break 10 of them and its still cheaper than the "other leading brand"

  1. Used my Powerline Inverter the first time on a 747 in a First class seat yesterday. The unit did not work in my Empower seat outlet, nor did it in any others in First class. The connection fit in the socket, so it wasn't that. I tried every possible way to adjust the connection - no luck. The green button on the inverter never lit up. What a waste of $20. Guess I'll go buy a Kensington now.

  2. This power supply worked just fine for me on various occasions, until I lost it in a move. The only issue with this adapter that I've had is that it does get very hot, hot enough to melt the plastic in which they provide those pillows and blankets.

I'm trying out a more powerful adapter I found at Costco for about the same price. If you don't have a Costco membership or you need one fast, I'd definitely recommend this.

5 comments about Bell Key 'N Go Steel Cable Padlock for Bike.
  1. Good lock, although the lock itself feels flimsy because of the plastic cover. The cable is a good length. I use it to secure two bikes to a bike rack and am able to go through the body and front rims of both.

  2. I had no idea what type of lock to buy for my bike. Reading a ton of Amazon.com reviews, I came to the conclusion that if anyone wants your bike that bad, they'll find a way to bust your lock. I felt a little more confident with this one because I read a lot of reviews that mentioned someone taking a hammer to the locks with a combanation and getting away with their bikes. Hopefully this one will keep my bike safe. I feel good about it. It is a heavy one though so if that is a concern you may want to look for another one. This one works for me though. I would recommend this to anyone.

  3. This chain and lock are a great value for what you get. This I feel would stop most thieves from taking my cheap bike, as it is not worth the trouble.

  4. We were looking for a relatively fair priced bike lock that would keep our bikes protected while we were away from them. Decided on purchasing this lock and so far we have not been disappointed. The chain is thin, but not so thin it looks like it could snap. The lock feels fairly heavy and sturdy.

As with every lock and chain, it typically only keeps the honest thieves away. If someone wants to get your bike with this lock on it, I'm sure they will.

  5. While this obviously is a very well known brand and is a quality product Bell has failed to provide a well made lock it seems the shakle is thin and easily cut with a bolt cutter or some other tool however the body of the lock is hardened steel case which stands up to punnishment like dropping etc, I replaced this lock with a better quality lock that I know I can trust, the steel cable is very good

  1. Not at all worth the money. I would not recommend this product at all. Two units were ordered, and only one sort of worked for a little while. Not impressed with this product and the very high cost for what it is is outrageous.

  2. The motion activated Spray Away has been helpful in keeping deer out of my flower beds. If you have a large area to protect as I do, the sensor angle is too narrow to protect more than a small area. The battery does not last very long. I leave the system on during the day, but turn the water off. Even so, I've had to replace the battery in about a month of usage. The range is decent, about 25 feet max. Overall, the product is worth it to keep the deer from destroying nearly every living green thing in your yard or garden.

  3. The Havahart Spray Repellant works! The sprayer is the first easy to use product I have found for deer control. We planted quite a few new trees and deer love young trees. We tried the foul smelling deterrents but they are expensive and have to be reapplied every time it rains. The detector works for months on one 9-volt battery. It detects deer as much as 50' away. Just the sound of the sprayer going off scares them away. For the more determined deer who venture closer being hit by the harmless stream of water is enough to get them to leave. It works for smaller animals as well. It's adjustable and easy to set up. I highly recommend it.

  4. Deer around my home continually ate the leaves down to nothing on my two small hibiscus trees. With this water spray, it is noisy enough and sensitive enough to really work. In two weeks both trees now have good size leaves. I do not understand anyone not being able to figure out how to set this, it is simple enough for a 5th grader to do.

  5. I had a new neighbor in our typical residential neighborhood- houses 20 feet away from each other- who decided his 2 large dogs should be able to roam free----- and they decided my pristine yard was a great place to leave 3 or 4 lb piles of feces on....daily. I now have this set up and it works perfectly- the neighborhood kids think its a hoot too-
Five big stars- works perfecly for my needs-
