  1. I have had a punch for many years of almost identical design. It has worn out. I has pleased to find this replacement. It is very sturdy.

  2. This is a quality leather working tool. I am only an occasional user and purchased it for adding holes to the leather strap for my daughter's shoes and a similar purpose for adding holes in my wife's belts. The small punch size fit the narrow shoe strap and the tool works very well. Before I purchased this tool, I was using a drill bit and hammer and nail combination which I found too tedious.

I don't know enough about leather tools to judge how an experienced leather worker would enjoy using it, however, I can definitely recommend it for anyone who occasionally needs to punch leather.

5 comments about 1500 Live LadyBugs - GOOD BUGS!.
  1. Received the Lady-Bugs very quickly, two days after ordering.

The bugs all seemed alive in the bag they arrived in which included a small square of something looking like foam & also a small wad of straw-type material.

The instructions were pretty clear but I was dis-appointed that there was no mention of "lady bug attractant" and/or how to use it. I expected information about this "attractant" because of a response that someone from Hirt's had written to another reviewer. Hirt's had asked the reviewer...... "did you use the lady-bug attractant?" when that reviewer had complained none of the bugs were in their garden the next day after putting the bugs out in garden.

The instructions did say to put the bugs out into a well watered, pesticide free (for at least 14 days) garden and only to put them out at dusk, as they do not fly at night.

I followed these instructions (I never use any pesticides so that was no worry) and I would say that the bugs were around my garden for about a week. I also put the straw material & the little square of foam into a couple of the pots I placed lady bugs in just in case either of these items were "the lady bug attractant".

I have a lush garden with lots of "food" that the lady-bugs could eat so I was a little sad they were all gone so quickly. I found about a dozen shells of dead lady bugs in one or two potted plants but the others were, presumably, off to a different garden.

A couple weeks after not seeing any lady bugs I tossed the foam square & the (by then) soggy straw into the trash.

Also, as another reviewer stated "her husband wondered how they counted the lady bugs"....(lol) well, my husband asked the same thing! We both studied the bag they came in (still full of bugs) and neither of us could imagine that there were anywhere close to 1500 in this bag.... I guessed 200, my hubby said possibly 200 but he doubted it.

For the price paid I am not upset about this experience but I doubt I'd purchase this bag "1500" of lady-bugs again.

  2. We had aphids and a variety of other little plant pests in the potted plants on our porch. I tried spraying them with water, then with neem oil, then pinching them off, and they kept coming back (the bigger aphids seemed to LIKE the neem oil, of all things). Finally I ordered these ladybugs from Hirts. They arrived in great shape, almost all still alive, in just two days (from OH to CA) even with standard shipping. I rinsed them under cool water and placed them in the fridge, as the instructions say, and then released about a hundred of them at dusk at the base of the plants (and helped a few start crawling up toward the aphids). This morning, I can't see a single aphid on any plant, and quite a few of the ladybugs are still there. I read online that releasing them in small batches maximizes the chances that they'll find food and decide to stay, so I'm waiting a few days before releasing the next platoon. Highly recommended -- this was way more effective than spraying, and much more fun to watch!

  3. The shipment arrived as expected. Almost all of the Ladybugs were alive when they arrived on a warm Southern California summer day. I refrigerated and revived them as recommended.

  4. I have seen several articles in some of my gardening magazines about buying ladybugs but never have. I just couldn't see getting live bugs in the mail. All the articles I have read say they are good for your garden but don't remember reading anything about time of year to put them out. So if anyone knows much about this process, PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHEN OR IF THERE IS A BEST TIME TO RELEASE LADYBUGS..

This was First time I've seen them on Amazon; I notice sale on gardening tools & supplies and happen upon them. Would like to try them but it will be October before I would get them. We still have some 70-80 degree temps in West Tennessee. So should I? or Shouldn't I?? That is the question. LOL Thanks for any responses..

Note to reviewer on Color of Ladybugs: From what I've heard; Orange are females & Red are males.. 1500 Live LadyBugs - GOOD BUGS!

  5. They came and were really beautiful aside from functional, all in amongst the straw stuff they came in. I put them on my lupines and they ate almost all the aphids and took off. The lupines still died. But it was a lovely thing to let the ladybugs go on them after they'd been shipped and cold. Nice experience.

  1. This product works as promised, and is easy to install with the included directions. It isn't the prettiest thing up on my ceiling, and I hope to find a nicer way to cover this hole, but my kitchen has been much cooler this summer and it has been very hot here.

  2. The cover seems to work, we'll have to get into deep winter to know for sure. One thing that may be a problem is the velcroe tape used to apply the cover. I'm sure it doesn't actually "seal" the opening. But it sure beats nothing at all and it was fairly simple to install. A bit pricey though.

  3. This cover provides a great seal to not allow any heat through the whole house fan. It uses velcro to attach and would prefer if it came with magnetic strips.

2 comments about Lisle 40200 Red 3/8" Magnetic Socket Holder.
  1. I bought a nice socket set on clearance a few years ago and the sockets just kept rolling around my cabinet. Finding a specific size was a tedious task for a simple job like an oil change.
This solved my organization problems...which means I can buy more tools. YAY!
Strong magnets to hold sockets in place, and strong magnet on the back to hold the unit where ever you want...even vertically on the side of my metal tool cabinet.

  2. There are a few small problems with this product. 1) It will add more weight if you use it in a carrying case because of the magnet. 2) It is not space efficient in tool box drawers. 3) Not all sockets fit in sequence, that is for larger sizes you might have to skip a space or two to get next size socket to seat.

  1. I had to change all of the garage door codes, and could not find the original remote transmitter. This is half the size of the original, so easy to reset, and works beautifully. And shipped promptly too. Thank you.

  2. Delivery was faster than expected :)

Item was exactly what I was looking for !!

  3. the gear fit and was what was needed. Service was quick and the price was reasonable. I would recomend the vendor ti my friends and would use the vendor, Sanford and Sons again if I need additional parts.

  4. works fine, not as much range as the original but it gets the job done.

  5. Good product for the price. Works very well. Had slight problem with switch setting. Had to change sw1 different than on the original opener!

  1. These plugs work great. I don't think I'd have the patience to cut my own when I need to either hide pocket holes or, use them as part of the design. As good as they are I've given 4 stars because of price, otherwise they are a 5 star product.

  2. Kreg P-OAK Oak Plugs for Pockets (50-Pack) Husband says these are great for the bedroom furniture he is building.

  3. I love my Kreg system. I built cabinets for a cabin with no previous experience and they look professional.

  4. I'm ambivalent about exposed, finished (plugged) pocket holes. Face it, they just aren't as attractive or decorative as, say, exposed dovetails. The fancied-up project you see in ads with contrasting color plugs doesn't improve things much, either.

Plugs DO work ... mostly. The basic problem is that the edge of a pocket hole is typically not very clean, so while the plug can be seated and glued in quite firmly, the effect at the edges still isn't pristine enough to my eyes to for finish quality. Other reviewers have commented on the large amount of protruding plug that has to be trimmed & sanded, which I wholeheartedly second.

I personally think the best use for pocket hole plugs is for painted work, where the plug can be made completely invisible.

  5. Tap it in. Sand or file it flush and finish. Very handy to have around the shop.

  1. excellent replacement drill. Didn't need case, charger, batteries. Nice to be able to get what you need without buying it all. Shipped quick, nuf said.

  2. We have a lot of drills on the job. These always get used first. Great power, 3 speeds, locks when you stop. The way it stops when you release the trigger is great. It makes bit changes a snap. It's the best feature. I am buying this to replace one that has been dropped from 15' repeatedly. The old one still works but it has been patched together a few times.

  3. I've had this drill for about a year and a half now and can't say enough about it... It has handled everything I have given it and doesn't quit. Before buying I shopped at Home Depot and Lowes just to get a feel for the weight, balance, and grip comfort and I can say this drill is tops... It a little loud compared it's competitors, But I love it the way it is, after all it's a "power" tool.

  1. This stuff is amazing! I could no longer get it at the store, so I actually waited to broil anything in the oven until the new bottles I ordered arrived in the mail. No more scrubbing! Really!

  2. This product is just terrific!! We use Dawn all the time so we are aware of the product. They just took it one step better. My Mother just purchased new pots & pans. I had purchased Dawn Power Dissolver before and I knew it would be perfect for her new teflon pots & pans. It gets the grease without scratching the teflon coating. Way better than "BRILLO" getting pots clean!!

  3. This Dawn Dissolver is WONDERFUL!!!!!! It cleans that cooked, burnt on stuff that you've scrubbed before and NOT been able to clean off. When it was no longer carried in my area, I tracked it down on the internet and happily purchased it. I've also turned many of my friends on to this wonderful product.

  4. I have used Dawn PWR Resolver for a couple of years now for cleaning my gas range. I just spray it on and let it sit for a minute and then wipe it off. This product is fantastic! When I could no longer find it in my grocery store, I tried several other brands. The other brands did not work as well as Dawn Resolver. I recommended this product to my daughter when she moved into her new home. The range was in need of cleaning. It worked miracles on it. I was so happy to be able to find it on line and my stove is back to looking good as new again!

  5. And this one has disappeared from store shelves :(

This product is beynd amazing... I make a lot of baked dishes with cheese, and this has made scrubbing almost a thing of the past! Spray, wait fifteen minutes, and clean it off.

The down side is mainly the smell. Not bad, just strong.

5 comments about Xantrex Technologies 802-1500 XPower Powerpack 1,500-Watt Portable Backup Power System.
  1. I used this thing for powering up some lights on an independent film and it worked out great. Four hours of non-stop filming and it still had enough juice to jump start my brothers car. I can't say enough good things about this inverter.

  2. Xantrex has changed the battery capacity of the Xantrex XPower Powerpack 1500. The unit delivered to me now has 51 AH (Amp Hour)'s of battery storage instead of the 60 AH listed in the Amazon product description or 63 AH listed in the downloadable product manual. The smaller battery capacity will shorten the charge time but will also shorten the time things will run when plugged into the unit.

Also note that the inverters output is 1350 watts continuous, 1500 watts burst for 10 minutes and 3000 watts maximum AC surge.

  3. I like this product because we get a lot of power outages in Southfield, Michigan. Our power pack is ready when we need it and it doesn't annoy the neighbors (or us) with loud obnoxious noise and fumes. We even bought a second one. Someday we'll step up to the solar charger kit that goes with it. Amazon also had the best price anywhere.

  4. Amazon lies, the list price is almost $100 less than they advertise on here. This unit is great if you take care of it (ie DO NOT GET IT WET) and use an automatic transfer switch (if you are using it for sump pump backup).

  5. This is the second 1500 I purchased. I returned the first one and now the second one is working. I own two of the 600's which outperform the 1500. Very disappointed with this product. Buyer beware!
