  1. I've spent lots of money on other closet systems, but this one is great. No cutting, easy installation and the price can't be beat! Highly recommended and I will be ordering more soon.

  2. Well designed, well made, easy to install and adjust, if it arrives intact when delivered by UPS

  3. This product rocks. My closet is so neat now, it was almost like putting on an additon. I love it when I can use my space productively. This was easy to put together and a huge improvement from the regular pole in the closet.

  4. I'm enjoying this closet organizer for my daughter. I live in a home that is over 20 years old with no major remodeling done, but I decided to change the closet system in my daughter's room to test it out. I am loving it and so is my daughter who is only 3 years. I put a bar low enough so that she's able to pick out her own clothes as well as her little brother who is only 1 year. It made her closet look neat and spacious. We are able to find her clothes much easier and place her shoes on a rack below the bar. If you purchase this item you are able to make the closet system work for you because of its removable shelf and bars, Making your closet system a unique system according to your needs even if you choose one style one week and two weeks later you want to change it up. It's easy and simple to make the neccessary/wanted changes. I highly recommend this product. I will be back to purchase another so I can place this system in my closet which is over 8 ft long.

  5. The other reviews for this product are accurate. This is about a two hour install project. Shelving is sturdy. My tip is to make sure you have a stud finder. My only compliant is that if you don't find studs, the kit does not include enough plastic screw reinforcements for all the screws.

5 comments about 3-In-1 Flashlight Nitelite Emergency Light.
  1. This little nightlight/emergency light combo sounds like one of those cheap "as-seen-on-TV" products that rarely work as advertised, but it performs magnificently. We get a lot of short power losses during summer storms and high winds and this light has come in handy several times already. It makes a perfect gift idea for anyone not stable on their feet or capable of blundering around in the full dark of an outage at night.

  2. I have had two of these lights for about two weeks at the time of this review and am happy with their performance for the price. The light in nightlight mode is mostly directed down toward the floor which makes it easy to see at night. The flashlight mode is bright enough to be useful without being brighter than necessary (impressive, but wasteful of battery power).

The light does not seem to turn off completely during the day. It dims down a bit and covering the light sensor on the front causes the light to get brighter, but it never goes out. It also has a red led on the front that is always on and seems unnecessary.

Other reviewers have stated that the light blocks the second outlet. This is not correct, depending on what you are trying to plug in. The second outlet can be used, but you may not be able to plug in very large power supply type plugs. Normal cords and small plug chargers (like cell phone chargers) fit without an issue.

  3. I bought 5 of these and put them in each of my kids' bedroom, our master bedroom and also the basement. Not only do they work great as nightlights but during power failures, they provided very adequate lighting (as emergency lights) to allow us to move around the house. Best is that you can unplug them and use them as flashlights. Only reason I gave them 4 out of 5 stars is that the whole unit covers the extra power socket.

  4. I have 4 of these 3 in 1 Nightlight LED flashlight/emergency backup lights and am so grateful to GreenLite for a superior product! Our power went out during the tornado here in Woodstock,GA on May 20,2008 at 6:30pmEDT and the lights--all 4--stayed on the entire 18 hours until power was restored the next afternoon at 12:30pm! My young sons' slept comfortably with their nightlights and we were able to move safely throughout our home! I recommend these lights to anyone who often have power outages or extreme weather. 3 in 1 Nitelite LED Flashlight with 8 hour battery backup Mrs. Freida D. Slater in Woodstock,GA

  5. If you're looking for a light to provide minimal lighting during a power failure then this is your light. If you're not familiar with LED lights they will not be confused with their non-LED counterparts but are bright enough to read by or do emergency maintenance in no electricity situations.

It would be nice if the nightlight could be turned off so this only lit up during power failures however it isn't a deal breaker but if you prefer to sleep in the dark don't put this light in the room with you unless you want it off completely and can get to it in the dark.

This light has been our best and longest lasting LED light. The other ones still work but have minor issues that are irritating. This light seems to work as well as the day we've bought it even after 2 years of being continually plugged in and used, we wish we could say that for the Sylvania Power Failure LED Lights we bought at SAM'S Club.

  1. I'm not the sort of person who puts his tools to heavy use. All I do with these things is assemble/disassemble furniture, and occasionally some light mechanical work on my car. These things are really solid for the price though, and get the job done nicely. The case seems solid too. I'm docking a star only because they don't come with screwdriver bits and they really ought to. I've got no complaints.

  2. Their drive ratchet handle only supports one directional rotation. With one you can only fix and with the other only release. The problem is that they are different sizes.

  3. I'm an IT director by day.

But the rest of the time, Hi, my name is Michael, and I'm a tool junkie. I'd like to think not a tool snob. I own both professional quality tools as well as these "Crappy" Denali tools.

I bought this set to keep in my car. My daily driver, I have 2 others. Ok, Car junkie too.
My car has an extensive tool kit built into the trunk, but there are some things on car repair that are so much easier with a socket.
The car is an 86 BMW, and I probably work on it about every other weekend.

The price was fair, especially with SuperSaverShipping.
The rachet is sort of so, so. But the sockets themselves make this a very passable tool kit. They are nicely labeled and nice and tight on any bolt I have put them too. Case is convenient, I broke one of the closers off the second time I worked on my car.

  4. I just received this socket set and am very happy with the price and quality. One reviewer mentioned about not able to change the rotation direction. However, I am able to change the rotation direction on both ratchets. I guess maybe that reviewer has received a defective set. The ratchets even have a quick release button to push to release the socket. I highly recommend this socket set.

  5. This product is well put together. for a guy with multiple socket sets this traveler is great

5 comments about Schroeder Hand Drill 1/4 Inch Capacity.
  1. Upon receiving the drill, I was surprised at how small it was. Like the other reviewer, I found it to be of high quality and the gears worked smoothly. The maximum drill bit you can use 1/4" which didn't come as a surpsise, but I was dissapointed in the ability of the drill to generate enough speed to push the bit into the wood very far. It's also very important to keep the drill perfectly vertical with smaller bits or they have a much higher chance of breaking off.

I tried it with some pine and because of the small wheel, it's tough to get any momentum or consistent speed. My hope for the drill was to use the versility to find the center of hinge holes, but I didn't have any more luck than using a standard cordless drill. Additionally, once you find your mark, you are better off using a drill that can generate some decent level of speed on the bit. In short, the tool and concept is nice, but in practicality, it didn't work out anything like I hoped it would. I give it two stars for the quality, but if it's not practical due to it's small size, it's nearly unusable to me.

  2. I tried to find one of these in a large hardware store, and they had no idea what I was talking about. So I was glad to get this one. It's very, very handy for light, accurate, silent drilling without having to mess with electric outlets, rechargers, weight, awkwardness etc. that come with power tools. I wouldn't want to use it all day, but for light household tasks, it's great.

  3. Schroeder makes a fantastic, rugged product. Provides exactly the kind of control desired... actually a little larger than Fiskars models that we've used for delicate/tricky drilling jobs. Have already used this model on all typical housing materials including a range of woods and with masonry and specialty bits on mortar, cement, brick, drywall, etc. with success. It has an excellent gear mechanism. Personally, I think this should be required use before folks ruin their projects with power drills they don't know how to use, though this is not a replacement for a power drill. Just my thoughts.

  4. As others have pointed out, this is a well-made drill but limited in its usefulness. Its limit, in my view, is that compared to either an electric drill or a bit brace, the torque it can develop in hard wood or with a large diameter bit is inadequate. In my hands it can drill a 3/16" hole in walnut, or a larger hole in softer wood. This in my judgment makes it a very useful tool in certain circumstances, well worth having.
The torque limit would not be overcome with a larger (say 12" long ) hand drill-- i've tried one. Much like a bicycle crank, the torque output of a hand drill is essentially *zero* when the crank arm is parallel to the drill body. One has to let go of the crank and grab the gear wheel itself to get past the no-torque point.
This low torque is actually desirable in certain situations, where it's too difficult to hold back the torque of a powerful 3/8" electric drill.
If you're so inclined, buy this drill and use it serenely for the tasks it can handle.

  5. That's what it's for and it does it well. It's well made, but it is not for gorilla work. Use it for smaller holes especially in hard to reach places. It's a welcome addition to my shop.

5 comments about Milwaukee 5616-24 2-¼ Max HP EVS Multi-Base Router Kit Includes Plunge Base and BodyGrip Fixed Base.
  1. i recieved this router and was very impressed with the quality and control it was difficult to decide what brand to by but i finally decided to go with milwakee because it was one of the only ones made in the USA

  2. I researched routers by reading and talking to people who use them regularly. This Milwaukee kit came up over and over as one of the best. I have used it for a few weeks now and absolutely love it. I am a novice user and bought a set Whiteside bits. The router and bits are performing flawlessly. I do recommend contacting Pat Warner (http://patwarner.com/) for his alternate base. He has an elliptical base that fits this router (and others) that makes them more stable when using by hand. The router is quiet, powerful, has a slow start feature, and is simple to use. I am not a big fan of the three part case or the size of the case. Some will not like having to use two wrenches to change bits but this is no problem for me. The body grip on the fixed base is wonderful for keeping a good grip on the router. Finally, the switch is perfectly positioned for easy on and off while you are gripping the router. Buy it, you'll like it.

  3. First off I am not a hater. I've got well over thirty Milwaukee tools and think very highly of all of them with this one exception. For example I feel that the big 3 1/2 HP Milwaukee router (of which I own three) is the best router in the world for router table use. It actually hurts me to badmouth this product since I have such a high regard for Milwaukee tools.

The problem with this plunge base is that the motor is insufficiently clamped into the base as this clamping is entirely achieved by the use of the over center clamp. On a conventional base router this isn't an issue since all of the load on the router bit is tangential. There is no force trying to push the router motor out of the base. A plunge router however is a different animal as when plunging there is considerable vertical force working against this clamp trying to push the motor out of the base. When under high vertical load (like plunging a mortise) the motor backs out of the base. All other multi based routers use this over center clamping system but augment it with a pin on the motor that fits into a slot in the plunge base to prevent the motor from rising up when the unit is plunged. The Milwaukee doesn't have this additional feature.

I solved this problem by drilling and taping a hole into the plunge base for a set screw which I tighten against the router motor to lock it into place. This works fine but something like this should have been done by the factory and not me.

Except for this major flaw the rest of the plunge base is good. The plunge is smooth, the feel and balance of the unit is very good, the depth adjustment system is excellent, and the handles comfortable. I do think that the plunge release lever should be longer as it's a bit hard to actuate, but, the handles intrude into this space making the use of a longer plunge release lever difficult.

Good unit with an unacceptable flaw.

  4. I needed a router for a furniture project and, based on reviews I found here, selected the Milwaukee 2616-24 router. It comes with a fixed base and the plunge base. I have only been using the fixed base so far on my project. I am very pleased with the tool. It has plenty of power for the many cuts I am making and the bit appears to be centered (I can turn the router around and there is no difference in where the bit cuts). So far, so good. I look forward to trying out the plunge base on my next project.

  5. I purchased the Milwaukee 5616-24 to supplement my Bosch plunge router. I often cut tenons of various sizes and having two plunge routers set to different depths allows me to finish the parts faster. I specifically wanted a new router that had a better method of selecting the plunge depth. Although my Bosch's manual claims adjusting the depth is easy, adjusting to a specific depth within a .010 inch tolerance requires too many test cuts. The reason being the microadjustment knob moves both the bit and the depth control rod. Making fine adjustments requires several steps, not just moving the microadjustment knob. The depth adjustment mechanism on the Milwaukee 5616-24 only moves the depth control rod. This simplifies the process and allows quick depth changes. Another feature I like about the Milwaukee is it has two springs to suppport the plunge base. The single spring in the Bosch plunge router often allowed the unit to bind when plunging. This would prevent the bit from making a smooth controlled entry into the work piece. The Milwaukee's plunge base is much easier to control.
I also have used the fixed base. It was very easy to remove the motor from the plange base and install it in the fixed base. Regardless of the base the router performed well. I like the soft start and the motor seems to have plenty of power. I have not used it mounted in a table so I can not comment on those features. The only Bosch feature I think I prefer is the shape of the base. It has a D shape rather than being completely circular. Since I prefer to use a fence instead of a guide attachment, the flat part of the base allows you to keep the router in the same position (i.e. It does not rotate.) through the entire cutting motion. This is not a large advantage, because the base centering cone that comes with the Milwaukee does an excellent job. Although the router rotated slightly while I moved it along a fence, there was no noticeable undulation in the resulting edge.
To date I have only used it to build one table, but I am very pleased with its performance.

5 comments about Pony 8510BP Cabinet Claw (2-Pack).
  1. The Pony cabinet claw clamp is the only clamp that can be used to line up face frame cabinets in two planes. The clamp can be used to clamp two cabinet side face frames together, align them and then provide a drill guide to join them together. The clamps are of good quality and perform well.

  2. After years of using hand clamps, I thought I would give these a try. I couldn't believe how much nicer these were to use. The drill guide is used for the pilot hole and then you swing the guide out of the way and finish with the countersink bit. Put the screw in and you on to the next. A depth stop on the countersink bit makes it easy to stop but I did found that a piece of tape works a little easier and it doesn't get in the way of the drill guide. Since I don't do this for a living, the price from Amazon makes this well worth the money. The tool is made to last a more than a lifetime so it would be something that would be passed down or on to someone else.

  3. More convenient and faster than using C-Clamps. If one of the stiles refuses to go back flush after tightening up the clamp I use a card board shim only on the side of the stile that needs to be coaxed back flush with the with the other stile. Card board shim strips used for drywall work great.

  4. Easy to use. The felt on the clamps really protects the wood. Great product.

  5. Okay -- I'm not a pro, but not an amateur either.... I've done cabinets without this tool and I just did one with this tool. There is no comparison! This tool makes hanging cabinets a BREEZE! You can get the cabinet faces lined up very nicely, drill and counter-sink your screws, pull the cabinet claws and you're done. This tool makes this job SOOOOOOO easy! As some reviews have said -- you're a bit "blind" when you drill the holes because you can't really see into the drill holes/guides. However, as long as your drill is straight and you take the time to mark your drill bit you wont have to worry about the big coming out of the face of the cabinet or thru the other side.

Can you hang cabinets without this tool -- yes. But why would you.... for around $50 your cabinets will be perfect...

One thing I would suggest --- I wrapped electrical tape around the tool to protect the cabinet surface from marring.... Not sure if it would have, but why take the chance....

  1. Programming was easy. But it does not seem to work with my Genie Intellicode purchased in 1997 or so.

There is no toll free number. I have emailed them by completing a form.

I might have to return the remote.

  2. Ordered this item from Amazon--great price, as usual, as I compared to the Home Depot and other hardware store prices first. With no tax and free shipping, even better deal. And it came in a couple of days. The keypad works great with my Chamberlain garage door--I programmed the thing in about 3 minutes and had it installed in 10. Highly recommended.

  3. I just recently moved, and I purchased this item because I couldn't find a spot to hide a spear key outside in which my neighbors wouldn't see me get it. This was the perfect solution! Now, I can go for walks/hikes and not have to carry my keys and when family visits, I can give them the code if I'm not home already. The item was fairly easy to install. I would definitely recommend this item, although I've only had it for around 1 month.

  4. This clicker was very simple to program and mount. Had it up and running in about 30 minutes.
Only complaints is that there doesn't seem to be an easy way to set a temporary code besides fully changing the code (which isn't a long process). Also if you accidentally hit another button as the garage door is going up or down, it stops. Maybe these are standard functions for these clickers, but they cause very minor irritations.

  5. I purchased this keyless garage door opener at Menards, and worked all morning trying to program it. But it did not work. I have tried everyway possible, and checked with the manufacturer's recorded instructions, and have almost memorized the procedures. But it still did not work. The instructional video at the maker's website doesn't work. It's been very frustrating, and I finally gave up and returned it to the store. Don't buy it if you want it to work with Genie door opener as promised by this product.

  1. My kid got this as a present for Christmas. Within 5 minutes, both light bulbs had burnt out and it was useless. There's no contact information for the company. Their website has no information about it. After some digging, I found that this is made by a different manufacturer and the few reviews I found after searching them led me to other people who had the exact same experience. Of course, watching our son's heart break after his present broke meant that we needed to replace it. After much research, we just purchased the "My First Lab Duo" microscope and are amazed at the difference. It's a product made for kids that will last a long time and provide the type of experience we'd hoped they'd get from this one. Vivitar should be ashamed their name is associated with this.

  2. Our 7 year old son received this as a gift. Initially the light did not work, however once I realized that the polarity of the one battery was "flipped" from standard, all was well. As is evident by the price level, this is a basic/entry level microscope and not a high end microscope. With patience from both the child and the adult it can provide an exciting introduction to exploring the microscopic world around us at an affordable price. The manual / documentation is very weak. Older children with prior microscope experience would definitely benefit from a higher end instrument.

  1. The size is amazing. It literally does fit in your back pocket. I was also looking at the OnGuard Mini but I like the Kryptonite's bent foot design better.

  2. This lock is great in two major ways. It's tough one of the toughest, if not the toughest, lock out there for the price and small enough to carry in your back pocket or a small bag. This lock is much more secure than my old lock that was twice the size, which was prone to leveraging attacks.

Great lock, it'll last a lifetime.

  3. Small, easy to use, really hard to break lock. The only problem is... it is small, so it might not fit around everything you want. But that is the nature of the beast. I bring around a cable lock wherever i go, just in case. If you are on a school campus like I am where bike parking is provided, it is fine though. It fits around city poles and other things as well. Another downer: all the fixed gear riders at my school stick them in their back pockets to look cool. -___-

  4. I initially bought this lock to serve as my primary lock. However, I later bought the Kryptonite noose lock b/c of it's ability to accomodate larger object (i.e. building pillars). That is not to say the evo is not a good lock - I actually really like it. I keep my noose lock at school and bring my evo with me everywhere else. Along with a cable, the evo will protect my bike from most thieves.

    Ryan

  5. This lock does the trick on so many levels. It's strong. It's durable. It's too small for a thief to get any good leverage on should they try to break it. It's small enough to fit snuggly in my back pocket, but just big enough to secure my bike to something 95% of the time (those other times, i just have to hunt out another location that fits).

This lock is more secure and more convenient to carry than any of the other locks I've owned. I highly recommend it.

I only took of a star because the keys seem a bit flimsy and i don't like how the keyhole slides around. It's annoying sometimes to have to position the key just so and wiggle it around a few times before I can get the keyhole to engage/disengage right. But this is a minor quibble.

If I lost my lock, I wouldn't have a second's look at the other locks on the market. I'd just buy another one of these and get back on the street.

5 comments about Triton MOF001KC/MOF001C 2-1/4 HP Precision Router Kit.
  1. I have never owned or operated a router in my lifetime. My wife and I decided we would construct our own cabinets because we have seven children and the cabinets at Lowes and Home Depot are expensive to purchase and use cheap materials. Imagine a pressed fiber board drawer with little staples holding everything together when your ingenious two year old opens up the drawers to make a ladder to get onto the counter top so they can reach that piece of candy that mom put up high because the child was not to have it until after dinner! I like you, read the reviews and decided on the Triton router. The instructions on the router were complete for a novice to figure out how to use the machine. The controls are easy to use and are precise and hold their position while making the most difficult cuts. The motor is smooth with little vibration leaving one with little to sand after a cut is made. The only issue I had was one of my own stupidity. When the router is in a table the bit should be able to come up enough so that you can get onto it with the wrench to change bits. It never seemed to come up enough and I caused a little damage trying to release the bit with the wrench going down through the table. Remember if you buy this router that it has a safety feature that won't let the bit go all the way up unless the router on/off switch is turned off. Can't be the table is turned off the router must be turned off and then the bit will go up that extra 1" so one can change bits in a few seconds!

  2. This is without any doubt one of the best routers on the market.I have owned and used PC's , Hitachi, Bosch and Delta. Triton beats them all with easy use and handling features. Changing bits is a snap on or off table mount. Power switch can be a minor annoyance when table mounted but not enough to warrant a lower rating. If you are a heavy user of a router this is a gold medal winner.

  3. I've been wanting to mount a router in a table and install a router lift also. Most of the lifts on the market fit several different routers but not the one I have. I was looking at buying a new router and a lift for it until I saw this Triton in a woodworking magazine. It is a great machine. It has some outstanding safety features and the lift works great. The machine came in a kit which included bushings, a circle cutting jig and a a bit and collets for 1/4 and 1/2 shanks. Even without the accesories the machine would have been well worth it. I probably saved at least a couple hundred dollars compared to buying a seperate lift and the router to fit it. I highly recommend this router.

  4. I'm a woodworking hobbyist and have been for decades. I've used this router quite a lot in the last nine months, though not daily. Overall I agree with the other reviews; it is an excellent tool for the money, especially for router table use.

I had one problem, which apparently is not typical. A tiny plastic tab broke in normal use and allowed my shaft lock assembly to be propelled across my shop floor. The router was mounted on the table as it has been since I got it, so there's no way I can imagine that this was anything but a part failure. I could find no way to order parts other than calling the Triton distributor, but when I did my call was answered immediately by a friendly, knowledgeable man who not only took my order, but offered assistance by describing the reassembly sequence. There are two springs, and it is not immediately self-evident or clear in the parts diagram where each goes, and the man I was talking to knew the product well enough to know that.

So while I had a problem, I think it is a rare one, and the response I had from Triton when I needed help is one more reason I would recommend this tool highly.

  5. I bought this router based on a good review of routers for use with a table. It is everything the review said. It is very precise. I can easily change the cutting depth and change bits from above the table. I comes with a real wrench for the collet, not the typical stamped metal wrench. It has enough power that it does not slow down at reasonable feed rates. The mounting holes did not match any that were already in my table but it was easy to adapt. I have another router that I use free hand so I can not rate this router for non-table use.
