5 comments about Denali 136-Piece Titanium Contractor's Drill And Drive Bit Accessory Set.
  1. I was impressed with this product upon opening the box. Now as I have used the bit's, I am still impressed.

I find it is a good value for the $30 price I paid for it. The travel case was much maligned by others. However, I find it is a much better box than any others I have seen of this type. I must be fortunate as the latches and boxes are all still performing well.

The specialty adapters and bits are great. These are not common with other sets. Oh yes, the everyday bits are here too, in spades. Your cost averages about a quarter for each bit and the cases are free. Can't beat it! If the case goes bad, throw it away. it is Still a good deal!

  2. The Denali 136-Piece Titanium Contractor's Drill and Drive Bit Accessory Set was on sale as a Gold Box Special recently. For the price, I figured that even if the drill bits and the accessories weren't of the best quality (I didn't expect them to be), that I should still be able to get more than my moneys worth out of most of the set. I was wrong.

The set arrived and the case was in good condition. Upon opening the set, I discovered a few bits loose in the case from being shipped. That wasn't a problem since that seems to happen on most sets packaged this way. The finish on the tool and drill bits (especially the titanium drill bits and sockets) looked good. At that point, I was pleased with my purchase and I had a couple of small projects to do so I would be using the set soon.

I needed to put a new registration sticker my vehicle's rear license plate, so I grabbed this kit and my Makita driver to do this small job. I needed to remove the two bolts from the license plate frame (7/16" bolt heads) in order to remove the rear license plate and remove the old registration sticker before applying the new one. I grabbed the 7/16" socket from the Denali set, connected it to my cordless driver and was ready to get this job done. To my disbelief, the 7/16" socket would not fit on the bolt head! I don't know if the size was cut wrong or if the socket got over-plated with chrome, but there was no way it would fit. I tried the sockets on either side of the 7/16" socket and, of course, one was too loose and the other too tight. I just shook my head and went back upstairs to get a Craftsman 7/16" socket and then proceeded to finish this small task. I wasn't happy that the socket was so out of spec that it was unusable since a already had a full mechanic's socket set so no big deal, I still figured I could use the rest of the bits so I wasn't too disappointed.

I was looking forward to using the titanium drill bits (the main reason I purchased this set), so I grabbed the set to do another small project. I had received a product that had the holes in the wood drilled too far apart for another piece to fit, so I filled the holes with industrial strength hot glue and let it sit for a week before re-drilling the holes. I grabbed the 1/4" titanium drill bit and chucked it up in my cordless Makita drill. I had already remarked where I was going to drill the two new holes and used a center punch to mark the spots. I didn't have the wood piece in a vice since the wood wasn't hard and it would be q quick job just to drill the two holes.

When I started drilling the first hole, I was disappointed that the titanium bit didn't just auger right into the would. I had to apply a little more force and it took a little longer to drill the hole to the proper depth. By now, I'm starting to get unimpressed with this set. I went on to drill the second hole and it drilled much like the first one. When I went to assemble the metal piece that I had to re-drill the two holes for, I was shocked to find that the holes were too large for the metal piece! I am meticulous about measurements and even used digital calipers to determine the proper hole size - and even used a drill bit that was just a hair undersized so the metal piece would be a very snug fit.

I went to unchuck the Denali 1/4" titanium drill bit and as I was doing that, I noticed that the tip of the drill bit looked like it wobbled a little. Once I had removed the drill bit I rolled it across a flat surface and the 1/4" titanium drill bit wobbled as it was rolling. The drill bit was out of round! That was inexcusable - no matter what the cost of the set was. I removed the rest of the Titanium drill bits and rolled each of them across a flat surface. I discovered three other bits that also were out of round - one wobbled so badly that it wouldn't even roll across the flat surface.

I was going to have to refill the holes I had drilled in the wood and re-drill proper sized holes at a later date. I purchased the Denali set primarily for the titanium drill bits and I could always use some extra driver bits, however, twice I tried using this set and twice I was let down. The quality of the set I received was so poor; it was worthless to me. Drill bits that weren't straight and a socket that was too small to fit over a bolt of the same size just confirmed to me that my set was a piece of junk! Based on what I had discovered, the only items that MIGHT be useable would be the driver bits. Even with the Gold Box price, it wasn't worth paying that much just for the driver bits - which may or may not have been straight or hardened correctly.

Even though it was a pain to do, I packed the set up and returned it to Amazon for a refund. Since I didn't have the outer cardboard sleeve the set came with, I'm only entitled to receive half of my purchase price as a refund. As far as I'm concerned, I'll take the half and never again buy a Denali brand anything! It's possible that I just got a bad set, however, there was no excuse for the socket not being the right size. That indicated to me that the quality control at Denali was virtually nonexistent. This wasn't a complicated product with a motor or moving parts - and still they got it wrong. As far as I'm concerned, the Denali brand tools are worthless (at least to me). Your mileage may vary.

  3. This set has tons of drives, many of them duplicates, so you shouldn't need to buy any more for some time. There are not 136 unique items. I think I counted 27 phillips head drives for example. I think it's a pretty good example of quantity vs. quality. The case hasn't fallen apart like others have reported, but it is cheap and I don't expect it to last for long. Still, for the price, you get lots of stuff. The titanium parts total about 8. Don't be fooled into thinking they are all titanium. Still, all in all, not a bad deal.

  4. This has Everything you can possably need. When I opened it up I was amazed. It' great to have it all right in front of you at your finger tips. I have used it 3 times so far and no complaints. For $30.00 bucks and free shipping you can't beat this no where.[ASIN:B000NJEU54 Denali 136-Piece Titanium Contractor's Drill And Drive Bit Accessory Set]

  5. Denali must have stepped up their QA since all the negative comments because I have a rock solid set that the rest of my work crew is envious about. Great quality for the price. Heck Great quality if it were triple the cost.

  1. I actually caught this when it was on sale for $26.93. If I had paid $40-$50 I probably would not have given it 5 stars, but for the price I paid, it's a really nice little screw driver. Plenty of power for little jobs around the house. I just used it to install childproof latches on all my cabinets. Worked like a charm. Sure, it would be nice if it had a clutch or variable speed, but it does have 2 speeds which you can select. And speed 1 is slow enough that you can just do little pulses with the trigger for fine screwing. The drillbit/driver set that comes with it is handy. I used one of the drillbits to creat starter holes for my screws. So overall, I think it's a good little tool if you can get it for the sale price. Wish I had bought a few more to give as gifts.

  2. Without a clutch this driver is handicapped. I build computers and need a driver for the many screws that have to be removed and replaced. I use the Black & Decker VPX1201 Drill Driver because it has a clutch. A bit heavier but the clutch makes all the difference!

  3. THIS LITTLE SCREW DRIVER WILL SUPRIZE YOU WITH ITS POWER! I FIND IT TO HAVE MORE POWER THAN MY SNAP-ON DRIVER THAT IS THREE TIMES MORE EXPENSIVE.I WAS ALSO ABLE TO TO GET A COUPON ON LINE FOR AN EXTRA FREE BATTERY. THIS IS SUCH A GOOD TOOL,I USE ONE AT WORK EVERY DAY & I BOUGHT ANOTHER ONE FOR HOME USE. I AM 58 YEARS OLD AND ANY TOOL THAT CAN MAKE WORK EASIER & FASTER IS A BIG HELP TO ME.THE BATTERY IS GIVES EXCELLENT SERVICE ALSO.Black & Decker VPX1101X Li-Ion VPX 7-Volt Screw Driver

  4. I service office electronic equipment and need to R&R many machine screws. This little baby makes short work of it. Almost always use the high speed and the bit set is an extra little bonus. For $100, never but for around $30, it's great. Battery lasts for better than a week. I may pick up more tools from this line as B&D is discontinuing them. It is strictly on-off, no variable speed, but you get used to it.

  5. My first impression of this tool is it looks like a little toy out of a kids toolbox. I would actually give it to a kid if it was not 42 bucks !

The tool is lightweight in a not so good way. Lightweight like cheap.

The trigger once pulled starts the tip turning but when you release it there is no brake so the tip keeps revolving a half to three quarters of a turn. Not for precision work.

Something like this really needs a variable speed trigger. And at this price point it should have one.

After unboxing it went right back in. If you are a homeowner that needs a little screwdriver for putting Ikea stuff together this may work for you.

But me personally I would spend a little extra and get some good quality.

  1. Rubbermaid delivers again! This simple item, a plastic butter dish, comes complete with cover, is dishwasher safe, and is unbreakable. As with most Rubbermaid products, good design goes hand-in-hand with good function...and all at an affordable price.

  2. This butter dish is ok, but the lid does not stay on when you pick it up and it is not very attractive. It does the job, but the one that I used to have (can't remember the brand) the lid would stay on much better.

  3. love the butter dish it has a very tight lid i would recommend it to everyone.

  4. Having kids, I LOVE this butter dish. No breaking, lightweight, easy to clean. Ours got melted by being placed a little too close to a hot burner and we've been looking for a replacement for months. I teased that I'd try Amazon and there it was! I love the look of the more expensive butter dishes but this is just so functional that it's everybody's favorite.

  5. Great product! Keeps butter protected from picking up other food orders while in the fridge and protected from insects while having meals on the deck.

5 comments about Velcro 90198 2-Inch-by-15-Foot Industrial Strength Sticky Back Fastener Tape.
  1. Consider this product to secure cupboards that hold precious stuff against the shaking of earthquakes.

Hope we don't get to test it!

  2. This product is very useful if you need have Velcro tape as the adhesive is extremely strong. Realize that the color of this product is white and NOT black like in the picture. It was not a big deal for me, but if you need black, there is another version in that color.

  3. Great stuff, super-practical. Local hardware shops had small pieces of velcro for sale, but these 2-inch strips are much more useful for my purposes. I've used this to attach hubs, switches, and even a network drive to the back of my desk, out of sight. Sometimes tape is not reliable and hot melt is too permanent, and velcro is perfect.

  4. Not much I can say about this product except it's velcro and it's quality. It's a heavy duty velcro and lasts very well. Worth the money.

  5. I will keep this review short and sweet: this product is useful! Velcro always seems to be useful, and this product provides useful Velcro for everyday situations in which you have no other options. I tend to prefer screws to hold things into place [living in earthquake country], but I find that Velcro (and this product) fit the bill for lighter things to be mounted to the wall or to a table.

Though the glue does become a bit less tacky in the heat, so does basically any other glue that comes on such product and is not an epoxy. Long story short: do not mount heavy things in warm rooms to the wall with this; otherwise, velcro on!

  1. Straight from HomeLite factoryFactory Reconditioned Homelite 26cc Gas Powered MightyLite Blower (Non-CARB Compliant) #ZR08520and no shipping. (Unbelievable).. I live in Germany and the cheapist the Army PX had was $199.00 (Not the same brand). So a Gat savings. One problem that Homelite should look into is their packing guidance. The product arrived OK but was put in an over size box with no packing material. If it was breakable it would never have survived.

  2. I use my blower only for the grass that goes in the concrete area and in the lanai. also in front of the house and it is working really good and best of all is the price. I love it it was a good deal.

  3. Hello I purchase this unit and its not bad for your home, do not try to make it a business blower, it does not like to get over heated(shuts down) but all and all its ok for my house.

    Andre'

  4. The leaf blower starts and runs fine. I was a little disappointed in the blowing power though. I previously owned the Homelite Yardbroom 25cc and it seemed more powerful. It may be because the blower tube narrows on the end on the MightyLite. I did a little modification on the tube by cutting the end off and attaching some pvc tubing and a 90% elbow and it seems to work better. Haven't had a chance to test it thoroughly yet but the leaves are falling. I was kind of surprised at the packaging, there was none. Just put in a flimsy box which was pretty mangled.

Overall, for the price, I'm pretty satisfied. When it arrived I put the tube on, I had mixed gas already so I poured it in and it started right up.

  5. What a piece of junk. I should have never wasted my money. It leaks gas all over and barely runs at full throttle. If you want to throw your money away buy this one.

  1. I purchased this product for Christmas and although I am very happy with the product, I would never purchase from the vendor, Ace Hardware Outlet again. They told me the product shipped 2 days after I placed my order but it never did. Finally, 3 weeks and 3 phone calls later, I finally received it. Not happy with vendor at all.

  2. We originally bought similar lights by GE, but they seemed too bright, and I didn't like how they flickered. Also, the GE lights took 3 AA batteries each.

My parents bought these Good Tidings lights, so I decided to try them out also. I think they are great, and they take just 2 AA batteries each. The flicker of these candles seems more realistic than the GE brand. An earlier reviewer complained that they weren't bright enough to see from the road 100 feet away. He/She probably should try the GE brand. However, if you want something more quaint and subtle, try these Good Tidings lights. For a small house in a village, they seem perfect.

5 comments about Bell Key 'N Go Steel Cable Padlock for Bike.
  1. Good lock, although the lock itself feels flimsy because of the plastic cover. The cable is a good length. I use it to secure two bikes to a bike rack and am able to go through the body and front rims of both.

  2. I had no idea what type of lock to buy for my bike. Reading a ton of Amazon.com reviews, I came to the conclusion that if anyone wants your bike that bad, they'll find a way to bust your lock. I felt a little more confident with this one because I read a lot of reviews that mentioned someone taking a hammer to the locks with a combanation and getting away with their bikes. Hopefully this one will keep my bike safe. I feel good about it. It is a heavy one though so if that is a concern you may want to look for another one. This one works for me though. I would recommend this to anyone.

  3. This chain and lock are a great value for what you get. This I feel would stop most thieves from taking my cheap bike, as it is not worth the trouble.

  4. We were looking for a relatively fair priced bike lock that would keep our bikes protected while we were away from them. Decided on purchasing this lock and so far we have not been disappointed. The chain is thin, but not so thin it looks like it could snap. The lock feels fairly heavy and sturdy.

As with every lock and chain, it typically only keeps the honest thieves away. If someone wants to get your bike with this lock on it, I'm sure they will.

  5. While this obviously is a very well known brand and is a quality product Bell has failed to provide a well made lock it seems the shakle is thin and easily cut with a bolt cutter or some other tool however the body of the lock is hardened steel case which stands up to punnishment like dropping etc, I replaced this lock with a better quality lock that I know I can trust, the steel cable is very good

  1. When I am working in my garden my buddy goes everywhere with me.I love it. I can keep all my garden tools with me at all time. Rake and hose hooks right on the side. When weeding my back no longer hurts I sit on it is so easy to move while sitting on it. There is plenty of room for carring your plants inside. I store all my tools inside it when not in use. My only regret is I wish I had it years ago.

  2. Highly recomment. Has handy storage for all gardening tools and a tray to keep the inside your cart and a sturdy lid to sit on and scoot around your garden weeding. Really saves on backs>

  3. This lawn buddy is terrific!! It has a comfortable, sturdy seat. You can reach into the storage area inside it, while still seated on it. You can clip larger gardening tools on the side of it. There is even a beverage holder on top. The tray that fits into the storage area of it is a nice added convenience. Planting and weeding is so much easier and more enjoyable with this item!

  4. I needed a lightweight, compact, wheeled "container" for doing sprinkler system repairs for my homeowner's association. This was a big job (45 properties -- over 1,000 sprinkler heads). When I happened upon this Lawn Buddy cart, I decided to give it a try since the price was reasonable. Well, there are a few points I think could stand just a bit of improvement (for example, the wheels are cheap, "one sided" things -- not really tough like Ames' original Lawn Buddy carts); however, having said that, I will still rate this cart "well worth the money" because of Amazon.Com's selling price. If you need a cart like this, I think you will find this one an excellent choice. I use mine a lot, and it does the job well for me.

  5. All of the plastic parts that hold the back axel and two wheels on were broken (I think there were four). It was snug in the Amazon box, but I think it must have been poor quality plastic in order to break just by placing it in the box. The broken plastic pieces were in the box. I really doubt that plastic could have withstood being used out in the garden with an adult scooting on it. I hate returning items but this was beyond use.
