  1. It's a shame when we have to replace the battery packs for power tools, but when required, it's good to have a quality source. This battery pack promises to be just that. While it may be a little early to predict longevity of this pack, initial usage would indicate solid performance.

  2. Great transaction with buyer, fast shipping right on time, would do buisness with him or her again. Had my combo pack for six years needed new batteries, lot less than store. awesome ....Rich H.

  3. This 18 volt Ryobi battery fits into my Homelite battery chain saw and uses the homelite battery charger.

5 comments about Hitachi NR90AE Round Head 2-Inch to 3-1/2-Inch Framing Nailer.
  1. I bought this gun for two reasons. Its the lightest and it beats everyone in price. I think $140 off Hitachis reconditioned site. I have used many framers and this one has held up with the best of them. Loads easy and is well balanced. There are three things you should know before buying. The adapter does not come with it and is not as easy as running to home depot some reason they dont carry the size you need. Lowes does though. Often times when you are framing you grab the clip to pick it up. Beware if you put your fingers towards the bottom inside of the track where the nails load there are two edges that are razor sharp. I mean really sharp I picked it up was using it and than realized blood was everywhere because I had sliced my fingers open without even realizing. I am refering to the inside tracks where the nails go in. Its not a place you normally grab but when you are framing at awkward angles and you are holding your framer between your legs while you position the wood you are nailing you sometimes grab the gun anyway you can to get it. Last for some reason this gun really hurts my ears. Its quieter but it hits a certain pitch that makes my head really hurt. You should always wear ear protection but every other framer I have used I have never wore any and I have done a lot of framing. Its gotten to the point that I can't even shoot 2 or 3 nails without wincing.

  2. This is my first pneumatic. I bought this because it had the most solid reviews on Amazon. I bought it when it was $309 dollars at Amazon but even at that price it was still a hundred bucks less than what the local dealer was selling it for (plus tax).

Built ~300 feet of fencing, ~8000 nails and it has preformed flawlessly.

Having some indoor projects coming around and I think I will be looking for at the Hitachi brad nailer.

    /tg

  3. The best framing nailer I've had. It's very light, well designed, attractive and functional. Highly recommended. This nailer doesn't come with 3/8" NPT connector

  4. After having owned a Porter Cable nailer for years, it finally gave out. I purchased a DeWalt nailer and was unhappy with it's performance so I used it 2 days and returned it. My brother had great things to say about his older Hitachi nailers so I decided to try this one. Today was the first day and I have to admit that I am impressed. The 2 negatives are the depth adjustment is kind of a pain and the dry firing when out of nails is not good but I'll take those two minor things in exchange for other nailers jamming and multiple nail firing. The last thing you want when you're up 15 ft on a ladder is a nail jam. So far this Hitachi is number one in my book.

  5. I love this nailer. I was concerned about working with the rough-cut seasoned oak studs in my 60 year old home. Not a problem with this powerful nailer - went right into them.

5 comments about The Rumford Gardener Portable Greenhouse #GH7500.
  1. This has been wonderful...I bought a $5 trouble light and a plant light buld for because it is in the house nad I love it and so do my ferns.

  2. This is the perfect solution for winterizing your plants. Indoor plants that require more humidity in hot forced air homes (like mine) will thrive. While it is slightly flimsy, if it's not moved it's great. Perfect for propagation, adding moisture and warmth to picky plants and giving a dedicated place for plants if space is an issue. I highly recommend this greenhouse. Can't beat the price and quick delivery.

  3. It looked so cute and I really wanted to like it, but.....

Putting it together was quite frustrating as the bars did not stay put. I put up one bar, and when trying to put up the next, the former one fell off.

After I had finally managed somehow to put this greenhouse together, I very cautiously put two trays of wheatgrass on it. The whole rack did not feel sturdy at all, and I knew then for sure that I had made a mistake purchasing it.

The next day, my cat jumped on one of the shelves and the whole house fell apart.

I also tried to move it (without any trays or pots) and some parts came apart yet again. You certainly can not move it with anything on it. Who wants to deal with that? And I would not even dare to put it outside.

I am a little disappointed, but really, what did I expect for the money??

  4. This mini-greenhouse was simple to put together, and holds a number of smaller plants. We used to bring all the container plants inside for the winter but now can house them outside in this greenhouse. The plastic is very thin, so I imagine it can rip or tear easily, although we have been careful and have had no issues. It is very lightweight, so as others have said, you should have something heavy in the bottom of it to keep the wind from pushing it over. Otherwise, we highly recommend this item.

  5. This product is a great example of getting what you pay for; basically, for the price, this isn't a bad little greenhouse kit. Like others who left reviews, I had some trouble getting the bars to stay in place. I recommend using a pair of pliers to shape the ends of the bars during assembly. Adding a slight oval shape to the bars helped them to stay in place. Some of the bars need to be rounded better so they go into place without breaking the plastic connectors. The clear cover on mine arrived with a five inch split in it. This was easily repaired with duct tape. The cover does not extend all the way to the base of the greenhouse; it leaves about an eight inch gap (which might be considered "ventilation." The shelves are not sturdy enough to hold much weight, but they can be reinforced by connecting bailing wire from the top of the assembly. For the price, the need to apply a little inventive engineering to the kit's short-comings still makes this a decent deal (especially for the home gardeners on a tight budget).

5 comments about Factory Reconditioned Remington 14-Inch 8 Amp Electric Chain Saw #099178R.
  1. This does cut , but to me it is more a hacker than an saw. Maybe I shouldn't blame the saw because the problem could be the blade. It doesn't have enough teeth, cut is ragged and wide. Otherwise saw seems to have good power and it easy to handle.

  2. Needed to cut a small amount of tree debris and was very pleased at performance. Just as quick as gasoline type, much to my surprise. I don't know how this would work if you used it regularly. Mine sits on the shelf until I need it again in a few years. At this price you can easily afford to do that though. Not a problem running extension cords for occasional use. No more time doing that than filling with gas on gasoline models. Need to take care not to saw the cord in two, though.

  3. The Factory Reconditioned Remington 14-Inch 8-Amp Electric Chain Saw #099178R was great. It took some assembling, but it worked just fine after assembly. The only item to watch out for was that the chain gets a little loose after some use and you need to tighten it, but it worked great! It got the job done with little effort. I would recommend this unit for small to mid-size tree and bush trimming and cutting.

  4. I still have not used this as I can't seem to put it together. The chain must be put on and is always loose and slipping off! It also has a part that I can't figure out where it goes??? Skip it!

  5. I do not ofter leave a review, but in this case I wanted to leave one. I concider myself to be a pro when it comes to tools and can give them a run for the money even on a first try. Reviewers have mentioned burned up motors and too hard to build, this saw was a cinch to build, and if they used the oil, motors and chains are not burning up for a long time. For an 8 amp motor and the 14" chain it can cut almost as well as any midrange gas and most high end electric chain saws. Kickback was a minimum and I was able to cut up limbs upto 9" round and remove 500 sqft of thick brush in no time. Even as a saw for its price its better to own one of these then to rent one for a small job.

5 comments about Brita Disposable Faucet Filtration System.
  1. My girlfriend and I live together. We probably drink about as much water as the average couple, maybe less because we work a lot. Yet somehow the brita filter only lasted 1/6 the advertised length of time.

The brita disposable faucet filtration system is advertised as lasting 12 months, sadly it only lasted 2. This is a big dissapointment as I would have stayed with the PUR system (also not perfect) otherwise.

If 2 months is sufficient for you, go ahead and buy this. Otherwise, use a filter with replacement cartridges.

  2. The product works, the water tastes much better than when its not filtered. Its easy to set up had no issues with that. My only issue is the company that sent it out. I gave them a 3 out of 5 and they emailed me one their defensive side. It was very rude and I would recommend buying it from some company that takes criticism well.

  3. I have only been using this product for one month, but I like it very much. My town recently added chlorine to our drinking water and I did not like the taste of the water. I called the water department to reassure myself that I would not be drinking tainted water if I removed the chlorine with a water filter. I was assured that the water was perfectly save with a filter and tastes so much better.

  4. We've used these for about 2 1/2 years (in fact, we recall an identical filter being offered by another brand before Brita, but I can't remember the brand name). We've never had problems with installation, although we've had to tighten it up a few times because the water was spraying when we used the filter feature. Also, it has NEVER lasted a whole year, but it has lasted for several months. However, since we usually found it a Target for about $25, it was always a great buy anyway. Unfortunately, I couldn't find it in Target yesterday, which brought be to Amazon, and I am shocked at the difference in price. I'll keep looking.

  5. More than the product being a good product, the seller is better. I had so many problems with Fed-ex that I didn't get the product until weeks later and there was so much drama. But the company was very nice and understanding.

5 comments about Denali Miter Saw Stand.
  1. I AM A GENERAL CONTRACTOR AND HAVE MANY TOOLS. I ACCIDENTLY SEEN THIS MITER SAW STAND FOR $88.00 WITH FREE SHIPPING AND FIGURED IT WAS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE. AFTER READING OTHER REVIEWS, THE ONLY PROBLEM SEEMED THAT IT WAS HEAVY WITHOUT A WHEEL TO TRANSPORT. IT IS HEAVY BUT YOU WANT HEAVY TO SUPPORT YOUR SAW FOR SUPPORT, BESIDES IN MY BUSINESS YOU ONLY TAKE THIS STAND OUT WHEN YOU ARE GOING TO BE USING IT ALL DAY NOT JUST FOR A FEW CUTS. WITH THE FREE SHIPPING IT WAS DELIVERED IN 2 DAYS, WHEN I OPEN THE BOX ALL I HAD TO DO WAS OPEN THE LEGS AND STAND WAS UP. YOU SHOULD HAVE A DESIGNATED CHOP SAW, I USED MY RIGID (OF 6 CHOP SAWS I OWN) THE ORANGE DETAIL GOES WITH ORANGE DETAIL OF THE DENALI. TAKES A FEW MINUTES TO ATTACH SUPPORT FRAME ON TO SAW. THE LOCK KNOBS ARE LIGHT DUTY AND WOULD PROBABLY NEED TO BE REPLACED EVENTUALLY BUT THAT IT THE LEAST OF THE PROBLEM. I SAY BUY, BUY, BUY !!!!!

  2. This is the second mitre saw stand in the family, and at less than half the money, we see nothing lacking in this product. It is rock solid, very easy to attach to the nearly infinitely adjustable mounting bars for our Porter Cable 10" sliding compound mitre saw, has both roller and flip-up solid lumber supports which have a very wide reach, and readily moves on any surface with plastic, ball-bottomed quick-folding legs. The saw pops off the stand by flipping the 2 orange levers to be readily moved with the aid of two carry handles to another location on or off the work site. We're happy with this choice.

  3. I'm just a homeowner that has an interest in doing things around the house for myself. When the idea of house-wide base board replacement came up, I figured it was time to move the miter saw off the floor and on to a stand. I spent time looking in stores and on the web and happened to stumble on to this one. Being somewhat skeptical about how good it could be based on the price, I decided to take a chance and order one figuring I could return it if it didn't work out.

When it arrived I happened to have a contractor at the house installing a door which replaced a window looking out to the backyard. When he saw what I ordered he was curious how good it was going to be since he too was looking for a portable stand that, if stolen from the job site, wouldn't break the bank but also could do the job. After testing mine, he ordered one also.

I've been very pleased with the size and strength of the unit and would easily recommend it to anyone looking for a portable miter saw stand. Amazon, as always, provided quick shipping, and good service.

  4. I got this stand on sale for $65.84 delivered. What a Great Deal from Amazon. You bolt the brackets on the bottom of your saw and slip in on the tubes and push the levers down and you have got a very sturdy stand. It is a very quick setup approx. 30 seconds. Also very easy to carry with the crossbar in the middle of stand. This is a heavy duty stand. I would have gave it 5 stars but only gave it 4 due to the fact that the knobs and push down brackets are made of plastic. Overall this is a very nice heavy duty stand that I use alot. i noticed in other reviews that some people said the threaded knobs are to short for the extension tubes, but if you look there are 2 threaded knobs that are longer. Very happy with Purchase......

  5. Pro: The Denali stand is easy to setup and does not cost much comparing to other brand
Con: A little heavy to carry in/out

5 comments about Estwing E3-22P 22oz Rock Pick.
  1. This is a typical Estwing construction as far as the handle and grip are concerned. The head already has the corners and edges beveled so it doesn't chip. The pick end comes to a point so if you're looking for a chisel edge this is not the tool for you. The weight works well - that is, it is sufficiently heavy to accomplish the job, but light enough not to be a burden to carry around and for easy one-handed use. The only thing I've wanted but have not yet seen is a leather carrying attachment for use with a belt; it probably exists, I just haven't found it. It would be nice if Amazon advertised the two together. I've only had this rock pick for a short while and the rocks are already yielding up their treasures!

  2. How well I remember it...the insult..the challenge and the glove across the face...we each embedded the pick end of our Estwing in a handy log, backed up a pace, and stood, sneering and staring each other down until someone in the surrounding crowd yelled "GO!"...

Seriously, if you have a professional or hobby need to pry apart and break rocks, the 22 oz. Estwing is it. And, it can be a handy camp tool - besides the obvious use as a hammer, the pick can be used to reduce downed, cracked tree parts to firewood by prying in the cracks.

  3. My entire family fossil hunts. This is the best all around rock pick we have used. We bought four if that tells you anything.

  4. The best rock hammer there is. It was recommended to me by my geology professor, and I would recommend it to everybody.

  5. I use this to sample rocks in old mines and when i am gold prospecting. I own the 16oz also. I would not use any other brand of rock hammer.

  1. On the second pass into the ground to remove a weed the kinfe broke apart at the spot weld which was three tiny welds made to hold the knife blade to the handle. Very poor construction. Only Fiskars tool I've ever had that failed on initial use.Fiskars Big Grip Garden Knife #7079

  2. The first time I tried to use this tool with any force, it snapped in half. I'll be returning it for a refund and applying the credit to a solid steel tang hori-hori, like I should have gotten in the first place.

  3. Fiskars Big Grip Garden Knife #7079
My wife & I have used this knife (digger) many times to remove weeds from the lawn and garden. It has worked flawlessly, yet easily and I can't wait to try it out when metal detecting since we have some heavy, clay-like ground.

  4. As a gardener for year, I am so pleased to find this tool. It is a great multi-purpose tool and very comfortable to use.

  5. All the grandkids wanted this. They think it's some sort of cool weapon. It does what it should do...gardening!
