  1. It is not what i ordered. It says westpointe on it and it is black .

  2. It was advertised as a desktop fan. I expected it to be much less noisy. I have to leave it on the floor. It circulates air nicely for its size.

  3. It mades of metal, very strong, cute and good looking. It's for a person because of one speed only.

5 comments about Mag Instrument, Inc. M2A98H AA Flashlight and Holster Combo Pack, Purple.
  1. To start, I'm a tradesmen who has to carry his lifelines on his belt. Not only on the job, but I'm also the unnofficial handyman of this apartment complex. Every time I even move to take my workbelt off, it seems to be a signal for a neighbor to bang on the wall saying something is on fire or won't open all the way. And the Mini Mag is the universal flashlight. It's sold everywhere, including this fine site and even family stores, and despite its legendary quality and design, is at the most ten dollars with included holster. I prefer the classic AA design, where CAN'T you find AAs? I've used one of these on my belt for about four years. It's an excellent tool, and I've never had one wear out on me. The bulbs, however, are the Achilles heel. The rest of the flashlight is military, police and trade quality, for civilian price. But these dang bulbs go orange after a couple weeks and last a couple months of casual use. I was considering shelling out forty bucks for a small LED, just to save the money on bulbs.
Then, walking through a sports outlet, I passed the flashlight section. And next to the usual Mini Mag with holster, which I own close to six of, was a Nite Ize accessory designed for this same flashlight. An LED bulb. Now, I've seen these online for about twenty to thirty bucks, and this is a ten dollar flashlight! But this one just sitting around on a shelf was eight bucks, about a buck less than the flashlight's shelf price. What the heck, I got one. To quote another review, my trusty old Mag is now a state-of-the-art torch, with nearly triple battery life of the old bulb. And LEDs, as all Mag-haters know, don't burn out or even go out when bumped.
So, for a total of twenty bucks, you get an American-quality LED beam that competes and plain out whips fifty-dollar imports with plastic casings. I wouldn't recomend this flashlight if there wasn't there was a way to fix its biggest flaw. Just get your hands on this LED adapter, and put it in like you would the standard bulb. Replace the mirror reflector, and stomp the old bulbs into powder. You won't be needing them, ever again. There's also a combo pack availiable, for the same price, that includes a push-button adapter if you've ever wished you could tap a red button on the end instead of twisting it on and off. I haven't tried it, but it comes with the LED, and for eight bucks?
And hey, the flashlight itself comes in six different colors. These things are easily replaced if one gets banged up or your room-mate/girlfriend draws all over it with Sharpie while she's on the phone. I've had these work perfectly even they have been through Hades and back, but some prefer a more formal-looking flashlight. Just take the LED out and put it in the new one, those bulbs last forever. And now, so will this flashlight.

  2. I have several of these Mini MagLites. They're solid, well-made, great little flashlights, with extra features: beam focusing (just twist the head), spare bulb holder (inside the rear cap), and a candle mode (take the head off and it becomes a base for the barrel).

I've only had one fail, and that was my fault (I didn't check the batteries in one that was kept in a drawer and an expired battery leaked).

Why do I own several of these? Well, you've got to have one in each color, right? Seriously...

I keep one in the center console of my car. It's great for old eyes looking at a map or directions at night, when the dome light just isn't quite enough. It's also a help for a quick look under the hood, in the trunk, or under the seat. Of course, I keep a regular Mag-Lite in the trunk, too.

I keep one in my office desk in case of a power outage, or when the timed lights go off in the evening, or for digging around in the computer or copier.

I keep one by my home computer for those times when you have to go poking around inside.

I keep one in the headboard of my bed, again in case of a power outage. I learned my lesson in the 1994 Northridge earthquake; it was still dark and the power was out, and various and sundry things had fallen on the floor -- it's no fun walking around in the dark with bare feet when there's lots of stuff scattered about.

There are a couple of others (kitchen and garage), just to have around.

Just remember to check the batteries every few months, and when the bulb burns out and you use the spare in the rear cap, replace it before you forget (Mag Instrument LM2A001 Replacement Lamp for AA Mini MagLite, 2-Pack)!

  3. I purchased this flashlight to use on detail when I'm patrolling as part of a Citizens Watch program. It isn't bright enough to help with tripping and focusing in on details. However, it is fine for a purse and backup flashlight. The belt thing is cool-just girls don't usually wear belts.

  4. It's just a flashlight, no big deal, but it's PURPLE and it's a Maglite. I have four of them in different sizes, and I've never had one fail.

  5. This isn't the first Mag light that I've purchased. They continue to make a sturdy and convenient to use product. It's just the thing to keep at my bedside.

5 comments about Leatherman 81030003K Squirt S4 Inferno Multitool with Small Scissors.
  1. This is from personal experience with these two products. I will discuss their pros and cons. I have the swiss for several years and recently got the squirt s4 after reading all the good comments about it. First of all the main reason I wanted squirt was because it has a much stronger scissors and able to cut plastic packaging etc plus the bottle opener. They are the main reason. I had the swiss army knife in my key chain as an all purpose manicure and small knife usage that I carry every time I'm out and about. I must say the squirt quality is very good. Both the scissors and knife are beefier in quality. It's more multipurpose. The swiss knife is very good for manicure. It has slender blade so it can cut those side nails easier while the squirt is a little larger and less easy to cut small splinter nails on the side. Squirt is also heavier so you will feel the weight if not the size in your pocket compare to swiss. Putting in the keychain may be a problem because it seems too heavy with keys and car keys etc. You will feel the weight in the pocket. So the main tools on squirt are all better than swiss, however the swiss has edge in slender scissors blade for fine cut and noticeably lighter.

  2. I've had a Squirt for a number of years and I just love it. Originally I got it mostly to cut beading wire with -- coated multi-strand stuff like SoftFlex and Beadalon that I didn't like using my scissors on. It does a good job of that, but it is good for so much more! That little blade is a staple of our everyday life; the kids are always asking to use it for a minute, and with its bright red color it's a little harder to lose than some things. I also use the curved nail cleaner/ruler a lot to open boxes, as a safer way to rip tape than with a sharp blade.

I'm not crazy about the actual knife, it seems a bit small and tends to close, to me it is more a hazard than otherwise, but I don't need it much. What I do wish it had was a true awl. It does have a small screwdriver, but for picking apart tight knots (as in shoelaces, doll's necks, necklaces, packages, and so on) one really needs the point of an awl, not the cutting blade of even a small screwdriver.

But almost for the sturdy scissors alone, this pocket tool is worth its weight in gold. I wish it came with a little card that said how to mail it in for sharpening though.

And I wish it had an awl.

But I'm glad I have it!

Thanks for reading. Hope this helped.

  3. I have a P4 version of this which I LOVE but found that I was looking for more cutting and the fold out scissors were not as convenient as having the main tool be a scissor so I purchased the S4. The main difference I see and that I read in other reviews but didn't believe is that the build quality is a bit poorer. My P4 snaps closed and is a really well manufactured whereas the S4 springs about 1/2 way closed and I have to manually close the rest. Not usually a big deal and the rest of the knife works well, just annoying. I still use this on my keychain and the rest of the tool works great. Remember that this isn't a locking blade which is OK for a tool this small. I use this daily.

  4. I owned a PST II (stolen!), and now Supertool 2000, Blast, Wave, Micra, and this Squirt. Wave stays in the car, Supertool 2000 with my father, Blast at my apartment (or when travelling), Micra serves as my girlfriend's keychain, and this squirt as my keychain. I just replaced the small maglite which drains its battery too fast.

Now, this arrangement makes this squirt the most used of my leathermans. There's always a paper, string, or cloth to cut and feels great when youre the one who produces the tool quickly to do it.

Nail file is also quite usable, and the bottle opener does what it's supposed to do. (could leatherman have tried to include the can opener sharpness?)

Buy one and use as a keychain. It will pay for itself. Very handy.

  5. I used to carry a Victorinox Swiss Army Classic Pocket Knife, but it eventually fell apart. I've had a other pocket knives since then, but the thing I missed most from the Swiss knife was the scissors. This Leatherman has it and is the luxury version of that knife. My two complaints are that it is twice as bulky as the Swiss knife and the knife blade is shaped funny. Most pocket knives have a relatively straight sharp edge and a slightly curved back. This is the opposite. A few times, I have turned it the wrong way and even put my thumb against what I thought was the back but was actually the sharp edge. No injuries so far, but it does annoy me.

5 comments about Security Bits Set, 100 pc. w/ Storage Case.
  1. This bit set is a must for any DIY'er. Almost any bit you can think of is included. Adequate case, tight fitting lid & bits.

For the money you cannot go wrong.

    A great Father's Day gift.

  2. I needed this set to open a license plate frame that I lost the special allen wrench for. The number of bits is amazing - there's nothing I can't get into now.

My only complaint is that it's padded with philips and flat bits. I guess I'll need more of those at some point, but it's not truly 100 pieces of special bits - well, unless you consider philips and falt special.

  3. I looked for these bits in all the stores where I live and no one carries them. Thanks to Amazon I had what I was looking for in a matter of a couple days. The bits worked just fine for the job I was on. Thanks again.

  4. Good customer service, addressed any concerns I had with great care. I would do business with them again.

  5. This is a handy addition to anyone's tool box. I have run into the security screws while working on Microwave ovens, car radios, etc.

5 comments about DEWALT DW3970 12-Inch High Tension Hack Saw Frame.
  1. Strong & solid. This saw doesn't flex much at all. The handle is a little too large for my liking. It would be nice if it was slightly slimmer. I've got pretty big hands, but I found my right hand a little stiff after cutting through a metal tube. Also, the blade it comes with isn't very good. But, I wasn't expecting it to come with a blade at all. So, I suppose I can't really complain about a free blade, now can I?

  2. This is no doubt one of the best saws of this type you will ever own.

  3. I used to think all hack saws were the same, until I ran across this little beauty. The tension adjustment is perfect. I have a tendency to over tighten my blades, which warps and ruins them. This saw just clicks the blade into place at just the right tension.

Very comfortable to hold, easy to control, with a nice guard to keep you from getting hurt.

To top it all off, there is storage for blades inside the frame, so I actually have a chance of finding the blades I bought when it comes time to use the saw.

    I really like this.

  4. This is by far the best built and most well thought out hacksaw I have ever seen. Super sturdy. Blade storage. Quick change and has 45 degree. It is a little more than some others but you will have it for a lifetime.

  5. I had high expectations for this hacksaw and it impressed me on all of them. It is very sturdy saw and is able to tear through projects they used to take a lot of strokes before. I haven't changed the blade yet but it does look very easy to change. The overall feel of the saw is that it is very solid and very capable to tackle the toughest of projects. I recommend this on to any of my friends and I'm not disappointed at all in my purchase.

These are not prone to shattering because they have an embedded mesh but I still wear glasses and a face shield when using these things.

  1. This was the fastest shipping on a product ever!
Great working condition and arrived at my home super fast. Was shipped the day I ordered.

  2. I was very pleased with this item. It arrived just three days after purchasing with standard shipping. It is lightweight and easy to use. Make sure you wear goggles and a mask while shredding as it is a dusty, dirty job. I put pre-shredded leaves in and ones directly from the pile in and it shredded great either way.

  3. This product was more than I expected...we have used it constantly this fall mulching leaves to go in our garden... it is a great little yard machine to have on hand to reduce the mounds of leaves we have..

  4. I tried only few minutes and I did not like it for two reasons:
    1) not rugged as it should be. Both the hopper and the body are very unstable. Hopper was broken when it arrived.
    2) shredded leaf does not come down smoothly. Openings in the bottom are not well designed.

  5. This is a very good product, since it makes cleaning leaves a quick and easy chore.

  1. Forget about collets and nuts. Spend the extra few bucks and get a keyless chuck. You don't need to fumble around trying to find the right collet; the keyless chuck works just like a drill chuck - it opens / closes to the correct size without changing the collet.

  3. ...makes this a great deal. Yeah the chuck is great, get one of those too. And when you come to an item that you can't use with the chuck, smile at the people who rated this item so low and are standing in line at HD or Lowe's to get this set. My advise get both.

  4. The past reviewer more than likely has the fine polishing, drill bits and other specialty bits dremel offers or may be useing non dremel bits. I've found unless you have the wrench or a strong grip the adjustable collet (chuck) loosens under vibrations and is sometimes to large to work in tight or close spaces...

  5. fits all Dremel tools, as far as I can determine, and does the job

5 comments about Smart Strip LCG5 Energy Saving Power Strip with Autoswitching Technology and Modem/Coaxial Surge Protection.
  1. I saw this item on Oprah a while ago and have been determined to buy one ever since. For a while, they were a bit scarce, but not any more it seems. In any event, I have a lot of computer things, several printers several scanners, and lots of doo-dads that hook into all of these things. Without even exploring the more advanced settings of the Smart Strip, I can say that I am pleased with the fact that when I turn the mother ship off (a.k.a. my cpu) everthing that only functions when the computer is on shuts off as well and I know that in time, that will make a huge difference. I no longer see the many blue indicator lights on peripherals that aren't being used and it's nice. I will be hooking one of these babies up to the TV soon.

  2. Very good product. Set your control unit, such as a TV, and then allow your speaker system, VCR, DVD, and other peripherals on the auto-switch plugs and when your TV is off, your other energy burning electronics are cut off too.

  3. Works as advertised. Need to wait on the energy bills to see the savings in the next few weeks. Happy with the product.

  4. I bought and returned two APC versions of this outlet, since their shutoff sensor could not be adjusted. The Smart Strip overcomes this with a potentiometer dial and simple instructions.

Note: The adjustment still does not work with very low amperage devices plugged into the master outlet (e.g., small cable box).

  5. while I have only used one smart strip so far, it works and there has been a savings seen in just one month of use...

  1. This products works very well for a suction-cup handle.
I would not recommend that anyone put all their weignt on it, but it works great for stability.

  2. THID GRAB BAR IS EASY TO USE AND AVOIDS THE NEED FOR DRILLING UNTO TILE. I LIKE IT SO MUCH THAT WE NOW HAVE THEM IN ALL OF OUR BATHS IN BOTH HOMES.

  3. Understanding that the grips will not adhear for a lenghty duration is no problem. My wife and I enjoy taking a long shower and the grips definately prevents us from falling. I take the grips down after we take a shower. Now she wants the shower grips installed for every shower. They work GREAT!!!

  4. They work well for a short time - maybe a few months, at best. Then, no matter what you do, they won't stay stuck on; and when they fall off into the tub or shower, the noise will scare you to death. I had to throw mine away---can't give 'em away/can't recycle 'em - what a waste of money!!! A very temporary and EXPENSIVE product.

  5. Dad needs help getting into shower and in shower. He feels safe and secure, really likes the handles.
