2 comments about Sanyo PLV Z5 - LCD projector - 1100 ANSI lumens - 1280 x 720 - widescreen - High Definition 720p.
- Why spend a fortune on a measly 50-inch flat panel when you can get this high definition (720p) projector and get a 100-inch image or even larger for less money? Sanyo's latest 3-chip LCD projector, the PLV-Z5 builds on the success of its predecessors with wonderfully sharp high definition resolution, excellent color accuracy, and outstanding ergonomics.
This widescreen projector supports high definition signals in 1080p, 1080i and 720p formats, as well as SD signals in 480i and 480p resolution, scaling each of these inputs to fit its native panel resolution (1280x720). And speaking of inputs, the Z5 sports 2 HDMI (HDCP compliant), 2 component video, S-video, composite video and computer (VGA DB-15) inputs, for compatibility with virtually any HD or SD video source or computer.
The lens shift capabilities of the Sanyo are unmatched by any projector in its class (150% up/down, 50% left/right), which makes it very easy to place, along a rear wall, ceiling, or even on a coffee table. You could practically place this projector in the corner of a room and still get a geometrically accurate image in the middle of a wall or screen without having to resort to electronic keystoning.
A couple of small caveats: it is not the best we've seen at converting SD signals into 720P HD format (it's also not the worst), so you'll definitely benefit from having a high quality video processor or high-end upconverting DVD player to improve the quality of standard DVDs. Also, at only 1100 ANSI Lumens, it's not the brightest projector in its class, so it's a good idea to get blackout shades or other light controlling devices if you plan to watch this during daylight hours.
But for a light-controlled home theater environment, and particularly when used with HD devices or a high-quality video processor, the Z5 is one of the best values in high definition projectors available today.

- I bought it to bring it to my home in Argentina, because of the good reviews and because I think it will be easier to find support here for this product than for a equally-priced Optoma.
Setup was easy, image quality is better than that of my 4 year old Sim2 ST200 (DLP), and the noise is really low.
Maybe there is more "pixelation" in the image, but you should really concentrate in the "noise" and not in the movie to perceive it (and also because I tend to have a bigger image than I should, according to official mantra).

- Its a very good relation between price and quality. Im not saying that this projector is made of a cheap quality, no!. Im saying that somehow you are getting more of what you could expect
- This projector is the perfect tool for my teaching presentations. The colors are bright, it has a great resolution image and the menu is easy to handle and understand. Although it is very light I wish it were a little bit smaller.
- Bought this projector for a home theater in Feb of 2006. Am just now buying a replacement bulb. Not sure how many hours we put on it in the past 17 months but I am sure it's a lot.
What's so nice about this projector? It has two levels of brightness and both are much quieter than the old projectors I am used to.
- This is the best projector I have bought and used. The price was excellant for the superior quality and ease of use. I highly recommend it.
- i use this product in my office and it works just fine. the seller was pleasant to deal with always updating us on the progress of our order.

5 comments about Mitsubishi WD-65833 - 65" Diamond rear projection TV ( DLP ) - widescreen - 1080p (FullHD) - HDTV - high-gloss black pearl with blue light accent.
- I upgraded from a Panasonic 50' LCD, that had an awesome picture. This one tops it by far. I did a lot of research before deciding on which TV I was going to purchase, comparing models, and the picture quality on this model was far above and beyond the competitors. This TV is also quiet. On the Panasonic I could hear the cooling fans while the TV was on. It never bothered me, but I can't hear a thing on this TV. It was made for High Definition. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the picture quality blurs a bit or is pretty grainy when you have less than a high definition signal. It can be modified some by the controls, and it's not annoying enough to give me a moment of regret in the purchase. I've hooked it up to an upconverting DVD player as well as a Blu-ray player (I know the Blu-ray also upconverts)and the picture from both on this TV are awesome! The screen is huge. I like how it doesn't have speakers on the side taking away some of the screen space. I would recommend this to anyone, it is so much fun.
- Mitsubishi was once a premium line for large screen products. Their quality and customer service have hit rock bottom. The quality is questionable and its doubtful that their products produce the 1080p image that they claim. Buyer beware. They have lost my loyalty and my business. There are too many other high quality offerings to choose from such as Sony, Samsung and Sharp. Don't be taken by Mitsubishi. You've been warned.
- I researched a lot of tv's before committing to the diamond series Mitsubishi wd 65833. I figured I did not need a thin tv as I was using a stand anyway to hold my other components so I went for the bigger picture with dlp technology. This set only has one competitor and that would be Sony's 60 inch sxbr rear projection set. My son has the Sony, and I bought the Mitsubishi. I have had no problems from day one (got the set early jan 08)The picture is the best I have ever seen on a tv this large. There was mention of a fan noise which I have yet to hear but I have worked in a factory for 33 years so the hearing ain't what it used to be. I would recomend this set to anyone looking for a great tv for not a lot of money. Get it soon so you can watch the Cardinals in grand style this summer!
- After reviewing several rear projection TVs for months, I was down to two Mitsubishi and Samsung. I picked this Mitsubishi TV because of the size 65" and all the features it has. I delayed on purpose reviewing this TV so I can get to know and see how it performs. It has been more then a month and I can say that there are no disappointments with it yet.
- I still can't believe this is a DLP, not an LCD on steroids!
We have had this for a few weeks, but just got HD cable last week. We have been very impressed with its image clarity and color richness. We also have a Samsung 46 inch lcd at 75 Hz,which has a very good picture, but I like the Mitsubishi's more. As a family, we now watch sports and dvd's on the Mitsubishi for the image quality. I must also note that both TV's are in rooms with a lot of natural light, and they are both quite good at maintaining image brightness.

5 comments about Panasonic TH-50PX77U 50-Inch 720p Plasma HDTV.
- Bought this product from Amazon after returning a crappy craapy Samsung 5064 50" plasma. Couldn't be happier with my decision. With Samsung; I'd get a bad feeling everytime I turned the TV on that I wont work and you know what ...one day it actually didn't. Luckily that all happened withint 30 days so before I had to deal with more of Samsung's D grade horrible customer service, Amazon came to my rescue and I swapped it with this Panny 77U . Its a great TV, picture is stunningly clear, the speakers are very good. The SD also isnt bad at all , it looks a little strecthed (cuz i see it full screen to avoid any burn in) but its pretty good. I get a 1080i signal and with some adjustments , I have no complains about the picture whatsoever. It is also not as warm as Samsung. Just one thing I wish it had was more picture controls like gamma correction or something like that cuz i wish I can get a little more brighter picture , not that its bad but sometimes its nice to have brighter piture without maxing out the contrast and picture settings. But all in all 5 stars for the TV and 6 stars to Amazon for their great customer service and white glove delivery which is amazingly fast , efficient and curteous.
- save delivery, easy assembly (two people req. for standing up the TV on the stand) very good picture quality (HD)
- Have had this window on the world for 8 months now and I must say I can't watch any of my other sets (non HD) anymore. Have it connected to Direct TV HD and it is wonderful. Was able to watch the Masters golf tourney for the first time on HD and it was like I had never seen it before even though I watch every year. The detail and sharpness is just awesome. Direct TV supplies all the cables so no need to purchase those. Just get it, you will enjoy TV like never before!
- This TV has the best picture I've ever seen on a TV. Everyone who comes over and sees it says the same thing, even on the standard channels. The HD through Direct TV is like nothing I've ever seen. Even just a standard DVD looks awesome. I highly recommend this set!
- I spent alot of time looking at hundreds of different plasmas and lcds, every time I looked at a different tv I always came back to this model. I love the anti-glare and it works great for my PS3 and blueray movies. Its perfect in blueray. For the price the 720P was the better choice for me. I have had this tv for almost a year now and have had no problems. Everyone that comes over thinks it is awesome, I can't be happier with this set.

5 comments about Magnavox 15MF605T 15-Inch LCD Flat Panel TV.
- The Magnavox 15MF605T 15" LCD Flat Panel TV is a joy to watch. The picture quality is detailed and the sound is very clear. The HD quality from this product really shows. So far, I'm am very satisfied with this purchase.
- I have owned this TV for about 10 months and am currently looking to replace it. The sound is TERRIBLE. Even though the volume goes to 100. The actual sounds tops out around 25 (the rest is for show). I tried hooking up external speakers, but it just amplifies the static & makes the problem worse. The picture quality is also very rapidly decreasing (fuzzy). Also DISH Networks universal remote is NOT compatible with this set. So plan on keeping 2 around if using DISH. Finally.... Check out MAGNAVOX's own website. They don't even offer support for this TV. Should say something about the quality.
- I bought this not even 2 years ago for small use in kitchen. Well, suddently not working, got it checked and main ciruit board is shot. Will cost more to repair than it cost which was over $300 in 12/05. Magnavox just told me today( becuase of one yr warranty) they will sell
me another one for $218 plus tax and have only a 3 month warranty. They probably were going to send me a refurbished one and I declined. THis TV was only for morning coffee use and while I cooked in kitchen. I usually don't buy an extended warranty but after dealing with this electronics company , I guess we will have to rethink it. I will never BUY another Magnavox TV again and suggest the same for anyone else.
- I bought this TV years ago refurbished, still looks great and works very well. I would definitely recommend it.
- used the tv in the kitchen for the past 2 years, didn't expect much for 250 bucks. picture and sound quality is fair at most. picture is shot at this point, time to chuck in the trash. need to find another small lcd, not much on the market unless you want to spend 2500 for sony's new 11" lcd. ugh!! someone should make a good small lcd!@

5 comments about Olevia 42" 1080i LCD HDTV - 242T.
- This TV had a great picture and pretty decent sound. I picked it up for a really good deal on Black Friday and loved it with one major exception. If you are going to use this TV for "over the air" reception be forewarned that it will not output the Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound through the optical or coaxial outputs. I use over the air so this was a deal breaker for me. I made several calls and spent LOTS of time, mainly on hold, with Olevia only to find out they don't have a clue what they are talking about. After the first call the set was returned for another and it did the same.
I've had another Olevia TV with other problems but it output the DD 5.1 fine. If you're using cable or satellite you should not have this problem, just hook directly to the receiver from your cable/satellite box and don't worry about the TV output. If you just want "stereo" instead of surround you can also get that from the output as PCM.
- i got the 242v model a month ago, the one with the spkrs at the sides. it's hooked to a toshiba HD-A3 and displays beautifully all this hd dvd player throws at it. excellent upconverted image: the standard dvd's of gladiator and chronicles of riddick could fool many into believing they were watching hi-def. and the hd dvd's look simply spectacular. it cost me $770 and i cannot imagine paying more for a big name lcd hdtv. of course, olevia is a relative newcomer and we'll have to wait and see about the reliability of their hdtv's, but so far so good (more than...)
- I just got the tv a day ago and i must say that I'm impressed. At first I thought a 42" would be a little too big for my living room, but this thing sits perfect. I haven't hooked up my HD yet, but the satellite picture is way better than I thought it would be. The sound isn't even all that bad like some of the reviews stated on other forums. The room its in is 18x15 and its loud enough, but I'm still going to hook up a surround sound for the theater effect. My brothers came by yesterday to watch the all-star game and they couldn't stop saying how nice it looked. I'll update this review in the weeks to come to see if the tv is performing the same. All I can say is for $983($799 before 2 yr. extended warranty which I recommend and taxes, can somebody say Fair Tax) this is a great deal for a 42" lcd hdtv that broadcasts at up to 1080i.
- I just recently bought this tv from office depot for 799 and this tv is awesome, i already owner an olevia 27 inch and for this price added a lot of depth to my tv watching.
- Don't buy a Syntax Olevia! I bought one and it died almost to the day the warranty went out. Customer service said I would have to pay to ship it back and pay the parts and labor to fix it and that would cost over half of the TV's cost. They wouldn't offer to help with anything and they said they lost my registration card, the same one they used to call me with to ask me how I liked it a week after I bought the TV. So all I can do is to post this to every blog I can to try to inform others.
