- First, contrary to what another reviewer has said, this is a full 1080p set. This is our first flat panel television and we are happy with it so far (but have only had it two days). Set up was easy. The picure is great (and we have looked at 1080p Blue Ray picture on the set using Playstion). Reflection is not bad at all. Very well designed remote, except that it has no lighting and no glow. This set is in our bedroom, and the power swivel was just what we needed so we can see the set from the sitting area or from bed. A word about the "white glove" shipping. This left something to be desired. There is no tracking info available. Amazon was telling me to expect delivery by 11 January but it showed up without a call or anything on January 5th. Lucky we were home. The delivery men at first balked at bringing the set up to our second floor, though they eventually did it. Still -- a lot less hassle than trying to bring a behemoth like this home from a store myself!
- I got this TV , very good condition , cheaper than Bestbuy or Circuitcity , delivery very fast , no shipping, no tax and I can injoy Christmas . TV very good picture and good shape . Thank you amazon.com . I will be back soon .
- Hitachi P50S601 50-inch Full HD1080 Plasma HDTV
I am very impressed with this unit! The pricing for this unit was also found to be "exceptional" via Amazon, compared to local Retailers.
Picture quality is A+, Ease of setup A+, Antiglare A-, Sound is also impressive B. I'd recommend you get yourself one of these!
THANKS AMAZON!
- This is my first High-Definition TV and I'm glad I bought it. The picture is beautiful and I didn't upgrade my satellite box yet. I could only imagine what the picture will be like when I do. The sound is great too. The power swivel is cool and easy to install. I highly recommend this plasma to everyone!!
- I got this TV a couple of months ago, but didn 't want to write the review before I make a truly run on it. I am watching it on daily base of course, and I am amazed. Sure... if you go to retail stores and look at a Samsung or a Sonny you will find that the image quality is better, but have a look at the price tags... You will see what I mean. For the $1500 this was far the best choice and I don 't regret it.
You can get a samsung or a sony or a panasonic for the same amount at 1080p but it will be 42". To truly see the image difference at 1080p you really need the above 42". There are some features that amaze me:
1. Swiveling base, controlled by the remote!!!
2. Different settings for different time of the day!!! Superb! I have a lot of light in the afternoon and very little in the morning. That feature makes the brightness adjustment a button away!
3. 3 HDMI's and 3 Component. Too many, but I am glad!
4. Excellent sound quality. From the TV or by using the optical audio out.
5. Connector to popcorn machine to pop corn right when the movie starts... Nah... Just kidding. I do however connect it to my laptop for gaming, and the color quality is unbelievable.
One little bug a few reviews noticed, is the speakers, that can be used as central speakers in a 5.1 surround, but there is a delay which is annoying. There is an option to change the timing but it only goes forward. But it is a minor minor bug...

- I got this TV at the beginning of the year and the image looks great. Over the air HDTV is great. Unfortunately after about 8 months the TV started giving problems. The TV seams to be hotter than what I would expect and after about 2 hr of use the image will go white and will not return until it cools down (by turning it off overnight). Needless to say that this is a big problem. I am hopping that I can get it replace under warranty without too much problem but I expected better quality.
- I have had my new Sceptre for about a month now and the picture is incredibly good. The built in audio is also very good although I am now thinking of adding a surround sound unit to complement the beautiful picture! Agree the unit runs warm but have not experienced any problems. This is a great HDTV for the money.

5 comments about Sony Bravia M-Series KDL-26M3000 26-Inch 720p LCD HDTV.
- I just bought this tv a few days ago and it's great! The picture quality is amazing! I have monster HDMI cables and Optimum HD and tv shows never looked so beautiful. The sound is really good. I leave it on 17 or so and I believe it goes up to the 70's. Don't quote me on that though. I also have an Xbox 360 hooked up via the component cables and it makes me truly appreciate the investment I made buying the next-gen console. There are plenty of inputs/outputs. The only gripe I have so far is that the remote is really simple. Sony remotes usually have a ton of options and buttons but not this one. You can even connect your computer onto the tv and have picture in picture with the tv playing in the bottom right. (haven't tried yet though!) I really recommend buying this TV. It is a fair price for a great product.
- This TV is outstanding. The picture and sound quality is out of this world! Sony has made this HDTV to be the best one out on the market. I was totally blown away by the resolution and sharpness. The sound is superb. It is well worth the price. I highly recommend buying this one -- bravo Bravia!!!
- I purchased the KDL-26M3000 and it it arrived in a perfectly mint box but was extremely scratched up on the front frame and looked used. For reference, floor model, open box TVs are usually in MUCH better condition. It also came directly from Amazon and not a partner. It is very difficult to imagine this was not intentional but I moved on and attempted to return it. I had to call 6x and it took over two weeks for the shipper to pick it up. They took it back but obviously it was a huge hassle and I would not shop Amazon for anything of significance as a result. There are simply too many other vendors available. Best of luck.

- The quality of this brand is outstanding. The colors are bright and vivid and the picture is clear. The viewing angles are amazing at 178 degrees, which puts you pretty much standing right along side the tv. Its a good idea to view all the sellers for this product, because I was able to find one who offered free shipping, and that made the purchase all the more attractive. The price is a little bit more then other brands, but I promise, you won't be unhappy with this lcd once you get it. I liked my first Bravia so much, this makes my third purchase of this brand.
- I bought this TV several months ago and I've been very happy with it. The picture is crisp and the sound is good (most of the time I can set it in the low 20's). The remote doesn't have a lot more buttons than the number pad but how many more do you need? Menu navigation is easy; I can quickly turn on closed captioning when needed and then turn it off. I purchased the cables required to connect my laptop to the TV so I can watch shows on the Internet on my TV. That setup is quick and easy. Overall, a TV I'd recommend.

- It's a nice TV, beautiful I might say. In Emeril terms, the picture is BAM!, the aesthetic is BAM!, the features are BAM!
- Don't buy this TV. This company has NO customer service. I got my TV at the end of February, and it was working OK. The picture is quite pixalated and you have to remember that you get what u pay for.
It is April 12 and we have been trying for 3 days to get a call back from the company with regards to shipping the tv or getting someone in to service it. The unit has gone "wonky" it is stuck in an endless loop cycle and will not react to the remote nor the on/off button. HUGE MISTAKE, and my goal is to make sure no one else makes this mistake. I always read negative posts on the web and never believed them, but now being a victim of this crappy company, I feel I MUST take a stand on the matter.
- I was told when I purchased this television that it had great sound, but I didn't quite believe until I got it home.
Now I have it at home, the audio is awsome! Freiends who come by can't believe the sound is coming from the TV without a stereo.
The Hannspree Wing has a "powered sub-woofer out" and I'm planning on getting one so I can get that rumble people get with their 5.1 systems.
I can't say enough how much I enjoy using this television!
-John
- I would look elsewhere if you are trying to find an entry level LCD. The picture color quality on this set was never accurate, especially in HD. CNet's review on this product confirms that this is a problem with this set. My set had a wiring problem several months in and after that steadily went downhill. I've since moved on and I would suggest you carefully weigh your options before pulling the trigger on this t.v.

5 comments about Toshiba REGZA 47HL167 47-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV.
- The first one I ordered had an issue right out of the box where the entire right half of the screen was very, very dark as opposed to the left side. I tried hooking up different sources and they all had the same problem. Toshiba claimed never to have heard of the problem and suggested that maybe the shipper dropped it on it's side.
So I took it back and ordered another, and lucky me, I got another one with the EXACT SAME ISSUE. Same advice from Toshiba when I called -- and they couldn't even find my original problem listed anywhere as the person I spoke to called this "the only time he'd ever heard it happening". Nice to know they are hiding some problems from consumers.
Taking it back now and will not reorder.
- I've just got this set, and enjoyed it for 3 days, when suddenly right half of the screen went dark. I was using HDMI input when this problem arose, then I tried several different input, without making any difference. I saw another review that has exact same problem I experienced. Plan to return this set to get a refund, and buy a different brand. All and all it makes a good excuse to return this item since I've just discovered that it doesn't support wide screen resolution for PC input. Only support 640x480, 800x600, and 1024x768.. very dissapointing. Wasted my time and effort to mount this set on the wall.
- I purchased this after my 42" Plasma broke. I decided to get an LCD as I live at an altitude of 6200 ft and have been told that Plasmas are not recommended for such high altitudes.
After having a Plasma, the image quality of this LCD comes nowhere close to as being as good. The colors appear more muted. Also, as others here have commented, the colors are further faded as you move anywhere greater than 30 degrees from center. It is a significant fade, not something to discount in your purchasing decision.
As I bought this from Costco, I'm returning under their return policy.
- I bought 47HL167 for a month. I just found a red line on the right side of the screen this morning. No matter what chennal or input I tried, the line had always been there. One hour ago, the line is gone. What should I do with the TV? Will the line came back?
- I bought a Toshiba REGZA 47HL167 in April of 2008 (4 months ago) [...]. I waited a while before writing my review because I wanted to make sure the TV didn't die on me after a month of use. So far, I am pretty satisfied with the purchase. As some other reviews have stated, there is a slight color shift problem, however, it does not really bother me. I played with the color settings, and have found settings that satisfy me. However, I notice that some channels are more problematic than others (HGTV is way too red!).
When I first received the TV there was a huge black shadow on the right side of the screen, but I sent it back and have not had the same problem with the replacement. I later discovered that the shadow was due to improper storage of the television whilst in warehouse.
Picture Clarity:
True, the Samsung does have a clearer picture (the whites are more vibrant), however, at the time of purchase, the Samsung was $900 more than the Toshiba. If you can get the Samsung LNT4665F for a cheaper price, than I would go with the Samsung. That being said, I think the picture quality of the Toshiba is wonderful for the price. I have a Sony PS3/blu-ray, and by connecting it with a cheap HDMI cable purchased from Amazon, the picture clarity is amazing! As mentioned in other reviews, the 1080p converts to 1080i in some instances, but I'm willing to compromise for the price.
Matte Finish Screen:
I am extremely happy with the matte finish screen, because when viewing television during the day there is absolutely NO glare! (Perfect for weekend afternoon sports!) Because of the way my living room is positioned, the windows have to be directly opposite of the television, causing a very bad glare on most TVs. However, with the matte finish, that problem has been solved! Wonderful!
Remote control problems:
The remote control is too big! However, I solved this problem by programming the TV into my satellite remote, so I use the Toshiba remote very rarely now. Unfortunately, I still have to use the Toshiba remote to switch in between inputs, and I've noticed that sometimes the arrow buttons don't work - very annoying! However, I think I may have gotten a defective remote, because I haven't seen any other reviews that complain about this problem.
OVERALL:
Overall, I am very happy with this television. It was a big purchase for me, and I'm glad I made the right choice!
