- We are very pleased with this television. The picture is crisp, sharp and vibrant. It has great sound and was easy to set-up. Looks nice, too. With a cheap antenna, we pick up a handful of analog stations and 10 or so digital stations without cable or a satellite. A few of them are already HD and are amazing. You can get cheaper, but I doubt they are anywhere near this good.
- I have had this television set since May 9th and am very pleased with it. Even I was able to set it up. I don't have the expertise to evaluate the technicalities, but I recognize an outstanding picture when I see it. I thought I had a defective set for a three day period (faces were "sun-burned and most everything was pink), but the problem turned out to be a defective cable from my cable provider. The size of the set isn't overpowering in my small room. For watching baseball games and nature programs this set provides a picture that is superb. I can't imagine you doing any better than this set.

- I bought this TV about 4 weeks ago. It is great, no problems or issues with it. Great picture. I've had friends with sony's and sharp's over and they swear it is a more superior picture than theirs. I read all the reviews for this and was worried about possible problems with having to flash the chipset, but not one single problem. I guess the earlier production models had some issues. The 15000:1 contrast ratio is awesome, and the new models are posting 25k and also 100k. It can from a company called Vann's. It took 5 days to get by way of ground shipping. I had an all around pleasurable experience with Vann's and Amazon.
- I originally bought the tv a year ago. I wanted to give it a full year before I could put my honest opinion on here and I must say WOW. ALL of the HD channels look amazing, xbox 360 is a wow, blu ray holy cow. Everything is so vivid and crisp. Not sure what the price is now but if you are looking for a 1080p TV that is proven you should buy this one.

- Greatest thing to happen to my living room ever. <--period

i have had my tv for about 3 months now, and i am constantly amazed at it's clarity and depth of color. the black is black and the white is white. no funky shadowing. no weird pixels, or discoloration. maybe the 40" screen was a slight overkill in my little one bedroom apartment, but i have been overkilling all my entertainment since i was 13. it just comes naturally. a lot of purchasing a tv is preference once you sort out the bad products from the good, and this is definately a good tv. i have seen it next to sony bravias, and phillips big screen plasmas,(not to mention all the other un-noteworthy tv's) and so far nothing beats it on realistic smooth continual color. P.S. amazon's delivery service sounded very scary, but the price was so low i had to try. i am glad i did because it was actually quite amazing. it arrived very promptly and they actually had to wait on me to get ready for it. they sent it to a distribution center in my area (Nor-Cal) and called me to set up a delivery time. they wanted to bring it the next day but i needed more time to clear space so i had them bring it the day after. it arrived right on time in perfect condition. we plugged it in right there and tried it on all my hardware, and i then signed off on it and never looked back.
- We have been very pleased with this TV. The picture and the sound are excellent. I would recommend this TV to a friend.
- Samsung LNT4065F 40-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV
I bought this TV for myself and then recommended it to my Mother. Now we are both enjoying vivid, bright, and colorful LCD High Definition TV. The TV is gorgeous on the stand. The sound is rich. One of the great surprises was that without a high definition cable converter box the TV finds and displays the available High Definition channels on its own. Yes the picture would be better if I did have it connected to a digital cable box but for no additional fee I can view High definition TV because of the built in converter in the TV.
I have given it 4 stars as my other high definition CRT tv still beats the LCD TV in clarity and detail.

- I just got this tv because of its good price i was scared at first because it was very cheap but let me tell you im very glad i got it i have A PS3 plug in on it and What this tv Rocks Also this is not my first lcd i hAve had 2 Sharp 26in Aquos tvs And i was very happy with them but i wanted to upgrade to i bigger 32in the sound is good not as bad as alot of the tvs out there the picture is crisp when using HDMI Or Watching HD Channels they have a other model that looks just like this one but cost about $100 more Dont wast your money i had the 2 tvs in front of me and guss What No Difference in the to at all. Well this is just a little info for those who are looking for some info on this tv like i was for 2 weeks with no info i took the chance.
- I initially considered the Samsung 330 or Sony L4000,
but I saw this when I actually went to the store. The
Samsung lacked S-video input, and the Sony was a little
darker compared to the other two. The Sharp was also
more compact around the screen with the frames being
the skinniest of the three. This was also the cheapest,
and it had S-video.
I am extremely happy that I went with this TV. My BF
has a Samsung 40 inch i the living room, but we hardly
notice the difference in quality when we switch rooms.
The TV is very bright and can be used in room with lots
of sunlight. I recommend this to anybody shopping for a
32 inch!
- Picture quality is excellent - you can see individual strands of hair in head shots. Setup was a breeze. This is a good size choice if you currently have a standard 25" set. It's the same height but you get the extra width. I had some video synchronization trouble when switching channels from my cable company's pseudo digital to true digital stations. I found that you can re-sync the picture by pressing the TV remote freeze button twice, once to freeze and another time to unfreeze. I had a standard Sharp TV before and was very satisfied, and I can say the same again with my new Sharp LCD HDTV.
- This DTV was purchased for my mother who had been wanting a more modern replacement to her dying 15-year-old set. Although many products are available to choose from, we chose this model because of the Sharp name and our previous good experience with Sharp Electronics and the quality behind the name as well as for its price. Since money was tight, we needed the most bang for the buck and this was our choice. The television arrived very quickly after shipping, was packed well and setup was so easy that we had it in place in just a couple of minutes. Ease of operation couldn't be any simpler. My mother, being elderly, needs simplicity when it comes to technology and this can't be beat. The quality is certainly there and we're all very pleased with the purchase.

- Hi Everyone,
We recently purchased this TV, and I have to say it is GREAT. We got it primarily for our photography business - basically, to use it as a giant monitor for editing and to show photographs to clients. It is the exact look and feel we were going for.
So far, everything has worked out perfectly. Particularly, it looks wonderful with our iMac putting video out to it at 1920x1080 @ 60 hertz via HDMI (mini-dvi to DVI to HDMI). It looks great as well with our Compaq PC laptop hooked up through VGA - again at 1920x1080 @ 60 hertz. I honestly don't see a difference on this model through VGA vs. HDMI, but I haven't run any comparison tests yet.
The sound is really decent on this TV. We can set it at a volume to comfortably here it at 30 feet away without maxing out the volume. Though, we can also hook it up to our sound system to put out more sound / bass. It does have optical sound out which works just fine for this (or you could use the standard RCA red & white audio out).
The display itself is absolutely crisp. We haven't tried customizing it yet, but there are a good bit of options for that as well. To give you an idea, a photograph on our 20" iMac looks just as good (if not better) on the 530 Samsung. There's no loss of color, blacks, or details. Originally, the images on the TV seemed to have a sharpening affect applied - we took down the sharpness on the Samsung and it is now spot on.
I'd easily recommend this TV to anyone. It has all the inputs and outputs you'd need. The display is absolutely great (on par with an Apple screen - which is saying a lot). It has a nice, sleek feel to it (even the buttons are recessed and don't poke out). It is easy to use.
Oh, one note: it is a 60 htz tv, not 120 htz. For us, we didn't want or need the 120 htz as we're primarly working with photographs. Really, movies and TV are still at 24 fps and 29.97 fps ... it'll be quite a while before they go higher than that (to 60 htz or 120 htz) ... at the moment I believe 120 htz movies are actually at 24 fps and then the 120 htz tv displays 5 frames per actual frame to make the movie appear smoother. Just some tech talk there.

The LCD panel on this TV is the same as the one on A550 model. Several people have confirmed with Samsung. The difference in contrast ratio versus A550 is a typo apparently.
What I like about this tv:
-great picture quality (search avs forum for professionally calibrated settings for this TV. It made a significant difference in picture quality
- good sound for everyday tv watching
-good quality ATSC/QAM tuner ( I pulled in channels that I didn't I had)
comparison vs A550:
+ better sound because of side mounted speakers
+ cheaper (though amzn had A550 for less than A530 at one point last month :)
- does not have wiselink (view photos/mp3s from usn thumb drive)
I dont care about viewing photos/mp3s too much so I went with the A530.

- The 37XBR6 is a great TV for movie buffs. The CineMotion technology on the 37XBR6 creates amazing, life-like motion in movies. Even older movies come to life with this technology. The picture color has a very natural look that doesn't look over-saturated like other TVs. The black level on the TV is amazing. I see details in movies I never saw before with my other HD TV. Also, videogames look great with no lag. A great purchase that I am very happy about.
- I had been searching for a large HDTV for some time, and had settled on either the latest Samsung 46 LCD or Panasonic 50 Plasma. But I still had a nagging bad feeling about the picture quality. I finally saw the Pioneer Kuro Elite 50 and knew that that was the ultimate. To get a larger screen though, I was going to need a new TV stand. When all was said and done, a 37" did not have the stretched pixel effect I was seeing in the larger screen sizes, and I wouldn't need a new stand. Then, as if by magic, the Sony XBR6 came out in a 37" size that had 24 frames per second capability, and I was sold. I have not been disappointed. The picture quality is awesome, and the integration with my Onkyo TX-SR606 and Panasonic DMP-BD30K is terrific (all support HDMI 1.3 so less cables - yeag!). This is one great TV, and Amazon's partner's price was great.
- This HDTV is outstanding. But, where is the Sony quality these days? Within two days this TV developed a vertical pixel line and that means it is defective - therefore 4 stars instead of 5. Amazon is replacing, but what happened to Sony quality. This is my second Sony purchase in the past few months that I have not been satisfied with. Thank goodness for Amazon customer service.
TV has all the up-to-date inputs and outputs. Very attractive package, highest quality screen that I have ever seen in the competition.

- Pros: A fairly decent set. Easy to set up and get going. Very sensitive analog and digital tuners. Good picture.
Cons: Don't buy this set if you use an outdoor antenna with rotator. The set does an "autoscan" to acquire and memorize all analog and digital channels with the antenna pointed in one direction. If you rotate the antenna to another position, you can manually enter analog channels into memory from the remote's keypad, but NOT the digital channels. In order to view the digital channels at the new antenna heading, you must perform the "autoscan" again... takes about 2 minutes... and the "autoscan" erases and replaces the channels memorized from the original antenna heading. Verified this performance issue with Samsung Tech support. Verified this flaw with sets in two dealer showrooms with Samsung HDTVs. No solution available. Sony and other sets worked fine for manual digital channel entry. This is a serious drawback for an otherwise good set.
- We bought this Samsung LN19A330 to replace an old tube TV we had in our home office. WOW! Even in full sunlight, the picture on this 19" Samsung LCD is perfect. We have an older model of the same TV in our guest bedroom, and the difference in the newer model is clearly visible -- brighter screen, more intense contrast, and the color is significantly more vivid. It is the perfect TV for a small room.
- This is my second Samsung flat screen -- the picture is perfect. This is a compact unit with a glossy black frame -- bought it for my guest room and it is hooked up to FIOS (Verizon) -- I am completely satisfied with this purchase from Amazon.
- We bought this tv for the kitchen. We use it with Rabbit Ears and it works very well. The HD picture is excellent. Non HD are not very good. Audio is OK. Over all a good TV if you need one of this size. I suspect they may be a little over priced.
Update: We have had this TV for almost 2 months and like it better all the time. Picture quality actually is excellent on all over the air digital and HD, We only use it with attic antenna or rabbit ears. Audio is actually very good. It is built sturdy and yet very easy to move around form kitchen to patio. We could not be more satisfied with this little TV !
- This is a very good budget LCD TV for use in a kitchen, dorm room, small bedroom. 720p resolution is perfectly fine for a TV in this size (19"). The colors and picture look great with a bit of calibration (I found the default settings to be a bit too bright). There were enough A/V connections for me, although the audio from the built-in speakers is only adequate at best (but what else can one expect from a built-in audio system?). There are other models, both from Samsung and others, with more bells and whistles, but if you're looking for a good basic small LCD TV, this one is definitely worth considering.

5 comments about Sharp Aquos LC46D64U 46-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV.
- Pros: Narrow surrounding bezel, small footprint, bright, great contrast, number of ports (component, composite, DVI), Size-Value, HD-capable (1080i)
Cons: The "red push" that these televisions can have, creating a very warm appearance by default. To the credit of this television, however, there are many settings that can be worked with to properly tune color. There are communities of users on the Internet that can help for many specific uses and tuning the color to your particular intended use.
Overall: I am very, very glad with this TV purchase. It is my first purchase of a TV of this caliber and I would recommend this Aquos TV to others!
- This TV has pretty good picture quality, a slick design, and intuitive menu, however all this is ruined by a major design flaw -- BANDING. Google "sharp acquos banding" is you don't know what I'm referring to. It's basically horizontal and vertical bands of uneven uniformity on the screen. Shows itself the most during panning shots (hockey games, wall pans on HGTV, etc., etc.) It's too bad, because I really liked this TV, but the banding ruined it and I ended up returning it. Bought the Samsung 46A550 instead and it is by far a much better set. (And cheaper too through Amazon.)
- I purchased this HDTV two weeks ago, and I have to say that I love it. The colors are brilliant, and the blacks are truly spectacular. Even standard definition TV on this set is not bad at all, the onboard processors do a nice job at cleaning up the picture. I was going to purchase the Samsung LNT4665F, but after viewing it side by side with the Sharp in BestBuy I noticed a definite difference between the two in the blacks, and in sun glare (they were both calibrated and settings were very similar). The only thing that I would say is that the TV needs to be tweaked to get the best picture, so do not expect perfection out of the box. But after about 30 min of fiddling with settings, I was VERY happy with the result and can not believe what a great picture it has. And if you are going to connect a computer to this with a decent video card, get ready to be truly amazed. Oh, and make sure that you have someone to help put it together, it makes it a lot easier on the back. Purchase this with confidence, it is a truly amazing set, and try to get it through Butteryfly Photo (the Amazon seller) as they have outstanding service and they "double boxed" the order (very secure shipping). I purchased it through Amazon as I wanted them backing me up on the purchase, but either way should be fine.
Pros:
Picture quality
Sound (not bad!)
Cabinet appearance
Ease of set-up
Menus
USB port
Computer ports
Cons:
The remote volume buttons and other function buttons are a bit hard to use, and the remote is rather large. Other than that, nothing!
Bottom Line:
Get this set, you will not regret it!
- I am very pleased with this purchase. I researched online and checked out a lot of LCDs and Plasmas in stores. After checking out the Sharp productc - which I was not anticipating buying - I was impressed at the images and response time. And, for the price, this was the most bang for the buck.
I highly recommend this television as well as the newer versions of this model.
- Tech For Less processed my order, packed it well and ship it within a few days. Fast Service! The delivery service they use for transportation was excellent. The operators setup everything and made sure the TV was working properly. The way an order should go.
The only problem; was the approval of my credit card with Amazon and notifying the bank for a large purchase. Vincent Kirk, Amazon.com Customer Service, should receive special recognition for the impressive way he explained, handled, followed through and expedited this purchase.
Many thanks,
Benita Pagoria

5 comments about Toshiba 26AV500U 26-Inch 720p LCD HDTV.
- I had to replace an analog TV, so I thought now would be a good time to buy an HDTV. I read a lot about HDTV and the great benefits that it brings to the TV world. I just have a roof antena in my attic and no cable. I read product reviews that flaged Toshiba as a good product/value and own several Toshiba electronic products, which have been great. I was hoping for better analog reception and good over the air HDTV. What I got was a super 26 inch Toshiba HDTV that has "much" better analog reception, fantastic HDTV reception all this at a great price, great delivery and a supper picture. BUY THIS TV!!!
- This is my first LCD / HD TV. I am very satisfied with the picture and sound quality, especially considering the price. However, Toshiba obviously didn't put a lot of effort into polishing some of the other features. Specifically, the user manual is almost incomprehensible and looks like it was translated from Japanese to English using Babelfish or something... Also customizing the channel lineup is difficult - you can set certain channels as "not viewable", but the firmware is finicky and won't always save your settings. Similarly, when changing inputs, the TV will often land on an input that's completely different from the one you selected for no obvious reason. This seems to point to shoddy firmware, but fortunately these are the only issues I've had so far.
One issue that bugs me that seems to be present on all HDTVs I looked at is the slow response time (it takes 10 seconds just to power on!) On the plus side, if you are planning on gaming with this TV, I haven't noticed any significant lag in the video processing, but then again I don't generally play fast-twitch games.
All in all, this is a great TV with with a lot of strength where it counts (picture and sound) and only a few minor flaws.
- I deeply enjoy my 32 inch Toshiba REGZA model, so when I wanted to get a 26 inch model for a small room (a kitchen), I didn't even look at any other brand. Unfortunately, no 26 inch REGZA model was readily available the day I made the purchase, so I took this 26 inch non-REGZA model. The picture is still gorgeous, though I strongly recommend getting the REGZA model in your desired size if at all possible. Perfect for wildlife and nature shows, as on Discovery HD Theater and National Geo HD channels, as well as for sports. Try the Sunrise Earth series on Discovery HD Theater--I think it's better (and better for you) than going to church! And for smallish screens (up through 32 inches) 480 is just as satisfactory as 720 or 1080 resolution. So save a few bucks and get a 480 model at a discounted price if you can find one. Else take the 720.
One minor quibble: no headphone jack (why not, Toshiba?). So run the sound through your stereo system, or anything which has a volume control, and plug your headphones in there for listening alone without disturbing the household (try Koss A130 for very decent quality at a moderate price).
- When my 9 yr. old 27" Phillips/Magnavox CRT TV blew out on me a few days ago, forcing me to join the Flat Screen TV world, I was worried-Most of the Flat Screen TVs I've seen in stores, catalogs & online were 32" and above, and I didn't think I could find a medium sized HD TV that would fit in my cubby-holed entertainment room, and also provide me with a quality viewing experience. Then voila, I see the Toshiba 26AV500U; It has ALL of the Bells & Whistles of the larger Flat Screen TVs. And any concern I had in losing that one inch of screen view quickly vanished, when I saw the GREAT picture quality on this Set!! To be sure, it will be a bit of sticker shock for Newbie Flat Screen TV buyers who haven't upgraded their TVs since the CRT days, until you look over at the bigger models and prices; Then, you'll be grateful for having THIS available choice. So,for those who are looking for a Great Flat Screen HD TV with the economy of price and size, that doesn't sacrifice quality, the Toshiba 26AV500U is the PERFECT FIT!
- This is the first LCD TV I have ever owned. I did not purchase this TV from Amazon, so I cannot comment upon how this item ships, but I would like to put in my two cents about this product.
What everyone has said about the picture quality is absolutely true. I had the opportunity to look at the Toshiba 26AV500U next to the likes of Samsung, Sony, and Panasonic, and I have to say that the Toshiba looked as good or even better than some of the various models offered by the competing companies. The well-defined contrast on the set is what gives it such a rich picture. Granted, this Toshiba is not the same quality as the sets that cost well over a thousand dollars, BUT, for less than $600, the picture alone is worth more than the money I spent. I am using this set in my very small bedroom, so the picture size is more than adequate. If you are looking for a set for your living room, you are probably better off getting a larger TV.
The only reason I'm not giving this product five stars is because I have experienced a problem with losing the audio on the set a few times. For seemingly no reason and quite suddenly, the sound will cease to function. In the manual that comes with the TV, one is instructed to reset the TV by unplugging it for five seconds. Every time I employed this method, the sound restored. I am concerned that this may become a more serious problem in the months to come (especially after the one-year warranty expires). Maybe I have a lemon, or perhaps this is a common problem with these sets. I urge anyone who wishes to buy an LCD TV to do extensive research on reliability issues BEFORE buying. I will try to update this if anything else occurs.

- All in all this is a pretty good TV. There are only a couple of things that bug me:
- The interface for the options menus is a little laggy, which is annoying because there are so many options to go through. I also found it difficult to tweak the colors because the options are not labeled very intuitively. However, after messing with it for a while I was able to turn off all of the filters and get a pretty good image.
- I was surprised with how much the response time (8 ms I think) bothered me. I play games on my PC with an LCD monitor so I didn't think it would be a problem, but turning the camera in Grand Theft Auto 4 was a little blurry on this TV. It wasn't a big problem though, just a minor annoyance. I was still able to enjoy the game just fine. I didn't notice this issue while watching movies.
On the plus side, the screen kind of blurs reflections so glare isn't a huge problem, even with lights on behind me.
I'm very happy with the TV in general. If I were going to buy a TV again, I would reconsider whether LCD is the best choice, but I would still consider this TV.
- I have had this TV for two weeks and have had no problems. There is no fan noise, it doesn't get too hot, and it doesn't have clouding when the screen is black. When the screen is in a dark scene it is one of the best blacks I have seen.
The Picture is so good on this LCD I almost can't quit watching it. Amazon delivered the TV and set it up in 2 minutes, it has been good ever since.
- I've had this product for 4 weeks now and it's just amazing. If you enjoy playing games and watching movies a lot, this is definitely for you. The MotionFlow is awesome when watching movies and watching fast-paced sports on HighDef. Its design looks great in every angle and is Perfect for any size room! I have a Sony Theater System that includes only two Front Stand-up Speakers which doesnt give off too much treble, but you can use the tv itself as a center speaker which has crisp quality sound! You won't regret buying this product.
- I've had this TV for almost a month now and all I can say is....(in my best Keanu Reeves voice) WHOA!!! The XBR4 is simply amazing. Blu Ray movies look absolutely stunning on this set and the 120Hz make you feel like you are on the set during filming. It's that clear. I wonder how I've survived this long without HD. The TV automatically sets itself to whatever source you are watching. For example, using a standard dvd player will set the TV to NTSC setting. HD channels are set to 1081i and the PS3 is set to display at full 1080P. The upconversions look great on the tv as well. I haven't had any issues with hearing the fan as many have complained about (knock on wood!!). All in all, this is a fantastic set and worth every penny.
- I have had this tv for three months and it has worked perfectly. I haven't had any of the problems mentions in other reviews such as fan noise and clouding. The picture is aboslutely stunning when watching a blu-ray movie. The sound from the speakers is good so there is no rush to get a sound system. Free shipping from Amazon made buying it from them the best value...just be proactive and contact CEVA (the delivery company) when it arrives at your local hub to schedule a delivery time instead of waiting for them to call you which may take a couple of extra days.
