- I did not purchase this TV for the computer use. I was in the market for a new TV and went to my local Best Buy. They were selling the display model. At $1100 I could not pass it up! I have to say I have not been disappointed. The 1080P picture with my Blu-Ray and HD DVD via HDMI is outstanding. My only complaint is when watching my DirecTV on my local CBS HD station it cannot keep up with the picture. Especially fast moving screens like college basketball. I'm not sure if this is the TV or the channel as I have not experienced any problems with any of the other HD channels. My main use of this TV is for the Blu-Ray and HD DVD, so I would have to give this item 2 thumbs up in that category.
- Just got the HP 47" MediaSmart TV and hooked it up to make sure it worked. I love it, very nice picture quality, very easy to hook up to your wireless network, and instantly have access to your home pc. Updated the tv's software over the internet flawlessly. You will not be disappointed.
- I purchased the MediaSmart TV 8 weeks ago and was very pleased. The picture WAS great and the setup fast and easy. If only it still worked. After only 2 months the main board died along with the picture. HP service just informed me they will replace the TV with a "reconditioned" TV. They will not provide a new one as this is not their policy. I would gladly accept that if it were a year old, but $2400.00 dollar and 2 months
is unacceptable. I'm not happy about acquiring someone else's headache. READ YOUR WARRANTY CAREFULLY.
- Recieved this product straight from Amazon. Got it in perfect shape, box was unblemished. Plugged it in and it never worked. Talked with HP, and they wouldn't send me another, just repair it at no cost. Like I want a brand new TV that needs repairs before it ever works. So I contacted Amazon and they were great. Unfortunately, they didn't have another to replace it, but they did all the work to get it shipped back, and I got a full refund, like it never happened. Its to bad, the TV was pretty, and it looked perfect where I had placed it. My guess is it was a bad power supply, but I still don't a have a new tv yet. Afraid to try again.
- I purchased a 58inch HP Pavilion HD TV roughly 2 years ago. The computer went out in the TV. HP replaced the TV as they could not fix the problem. The technician, (whom was wearing an HP shirt and name badge), that installed the new TV said that with the new TV my warranty resets. He told me this because I expressly asked "what happens if the new TV ends up having the same problem?" Less than 9 months later the new TV also broke with the same computer problem. I contacted HP technical department and I was told that the warranty explained to me by the HP technician was incorrect. They went as far as to try and say that the technician was from a 3rd party and didn't work for HP. I asked for the 3rd parties' name and was told that HP wasn't required to give me that information. I implore anyone that is considering buying a TV from HP to consider Sony or any other product TV besides HP.

3 comments about Sony KV-32HS500 32" Flat-Screen HDTV Monitor.
- One of the best things about DVDs is the great picture they are capable of displaying. To get the best picture, you need a really good TV. My 4-year-old Magnavox, which had been fine for VHS and cable viewing, was not adequate for DVDs, especially in widescreen. I found that the geometric distortions of a non-flat screen TV were starting to become very noticeable.
I started looking and after getting over the initial sticker shock, narrowed my choices down to a 32" flat screen, or 32" flat screen high-defition. I prefer the sharpness and brightness of direct-view, and stayed with the 4:3 aspect ratio, since most broadcasts are still full-screen and not widescreen. For DVDs, I figured a 32" TV would still give me lots of picture even with the letter-box black spaces on the top and bottom. Keep in mind that if you go with a widescreen TV, you'll have black spaces on the sides when you watch full-screen broadcasts. You can, of course, choose to have the 4:3 image fill the entire widescreen, but you are going to get some distortion. ... It's very heavy (about 180 pounds) but that's true of any large flat-screen TV. You'll need a sturdy stand or entertainment center, and it's a good idea to have it all set before the TV is delivered. Also have your other components ready to plug into the TV's inputs on the back, so that you won't have to move the TV once it's been put into position. If you need to move it, you will need someone else to help you. Once it's down, it does not just slide around. This TV has plenty of inputs, including two sets of HD/DVD inputs, so you will be able to input your DVD's video signal directly into the TV, and later, add an HDTV converter box as well. There's a set of inputs on the front, too, for video games or camcorders. The picture quality is amazing, even for non-digital sources such as cable and VHS tapes. The video menu allows you to adjust the color settings, as well as edge enhancement. There are 4 pre-set video modes (vivid, standard, movies, pro), but you can change any or all of the settings for each of them. For widescreen DVDs, Sony has an enhanced 16:9 mode. To use this, you must set your DVD player to display at 16:9 aspect ratio. When selected, this allows the TV to detect a widescreen video image, and adjust the set accordingly. What it does is to use all of the TV's horizontal lines to display the picture, whereas most TVs use some of those lines to draw the black spaces above and below the picture. This increases the clarity and resolution of widescreen pictures. The sound is quite good, certainly more than adequate for casual viewing, but not as good as the sound you will get through a good A/V receiver. The case is silver, not black, and the front of the case is a gently curving arc. This helps make the TV look less obtrusive; instead of a big hulking black plastic box, the overall impression is of a sleek, streamlined TV. The arc helps to hide the sides of the cabinet from view. The remote is needlessly complicated, though the main buttons are easy to find and use. The on-screen menus are intuitive and easy to use. The manual is fairly well-written, but not as comprehensive as it should be.
- The quality of the picture on this TV is absolutely breathtaking. I was limited to a 32" screen and tried to budget carefully, but after personally viewing dozens of TVs none even came close to this Sony in quality of picture or sound. Other reviews have extensively commented on the technical aspects - from a "users" point of view, I liked the following things: The picture seems to "jump" off the screen with detail so fine that it is almost distracting at first - even non-HDTV programming is greatly enhanced. In a room where Surround Sound is not possible, the simulated Sound Enhancement provides a distinct 3D effect with rich tones from front-firing speakers. The most common picture and sound adjustments have "one-touch" buttons on the remote for easy access. One cool feature allows you to view two channels side-by-side or to freeze screens - great for sports viewers! Viewing DVD's is an incredible experience that has to be seen to be appreciated - ask for a demo in the store to prove it to yourself. The setup and adjustments are thru a small joystick on the remote that is simple and straightforward (although I agree that the remote is almost scary once you get past basic TV functions). The manual was easy to read. I would recommend the matching stand, which has glass doors, swivels, and is designed to support the 180 lb. TV. All in all, a great TV that has completely changed the way we view TV and worth every penny!!
- I have 2 of these, one on HDTV and one on regular cable and I can tell no difference in the picture quality, the picture is so good. I actually prefer the regular picture because it is bigger. It has fantastic picture quality. If you can still find one of these, grab it. The prices have gone down.

- Im very pleased with this projector I bought here on Amazon. They deal with international cards (a thing that I couldnt do directly with Tiger Direct) and the shippment was super fast (3 days approx).
The product itself its pretty good, I was looking to buy the cheapest projector on the block and I got quite a surprise, a good one, its pretty quite, good options menu and image, what else would I want?
Thanks Amazon, Thanks Tiger Direct, Thanks BenQ :)

- We purchased the TV as a Christmas gift for my mother. The unit shipped quickly and in apparently good shape. It installed easily with the instructions included, too bad we didn't test it before we installed it. All of the features worked but the screen never produced a picture. We contacted the vendor on Christmas Eve and got a response within a few hours to send it back . . . and they paid for the return shipping! Long story-short . . . we got the replacement and the reinstall when fine. Mother is thrilled. . . Christmas saved!
The picture is fine for a 9" screen, takes a little longer than i like for it to warm up and the picture to clear up. The sound is nice and even has connectors for extra speakers. I hope this doesn't distract her while she is cooking . . . i think i smell something burning in the oven . . . got to go!
- product was defective when recieved.I sent it in to audiovox and now they want 95 dollars to repair!
- The unit functions well for tv viewing. However, the picture is only 7", although the screen is 9". Clear, crisp quality, especially when some feet away. Easy to read print on the screen. Easy to use remote or unit controls.
Using mine on the counter. CD playing is sporadic; haven't tried a DVD.
Overall, it fills the need for a kitchen tv.
- Product works well. I received it with no instruction booklet and had to dounload the booklet from the internet. The 9" screen would be just fine however the picture does not fill the screen which is a little disapointing.
- We got it up and running. It works fine, but I really need the instructions. It didn't come with any. My husband says not to ever buy used electronics, and I believe him.

- The sound of this TV is simply weak.
Analog and Digital picture selection is separat. You do not get the channels in sequence but you must enter the analog or digital channel manually by number. Digital broadcast is 95% in 4:3 format but the channels are standard displayed as Stretched which turns all people into fat dwarfs. The remote has to be clicked 2 twice for correction.
- This TV has great clarity and works well in a bright area, works great for both a TV and as a monitor for the kitchen PC.

- I have been through 5 tvs in the pass month (Insignia,Emprex,Sharp and Vizio) and this tv is on par with the Sharp brand. Great picture quality, great styling and for the fraction of the price of the Sharp. All I can say is I am happy now.
- It's absolutely maddening trying to pick out an LCD or plasma TV that doesn't have its share of problems surfacing on message boards across the Internet. First, I had to decide on a size and go from there. For my living room, 37" is absolutely perfect. It's neither too big nor too small in my opinion. Second, I had to decide on a brand. After spending endless hours online doing my research, I decided to go with Zenith. I've had 3 CRT TVs from Zenith in the past and have been completely satisfied with all of them. This LCD TV continues my lucky streak. Right out of the box, this TV provided an exceptional picture (with a little tweaking) and a lot of features for the price. I have found nothing to complain about, and I've had this TV now for a month. Although I'm not yet receiving HDTV programming, analog cable looks wonderful on this set, even with the picture stretched using one of the zoom settings. I was surprised because I've read on online forums that standard TV looks lousy on these sets. Maybe I don't know any better, but so far, I have no regrets with this TV, and I'm looking forward to even better quality once I receive true HDTV programming.
- I got this TV + a dvd/surround sound system for $1000 at a local retailer on a special promotion. Overall, its a pretty quality set but probably not the leader in LCD TV's. If I were going to spend $1800 I would probably look into a Samsung or Sony. Its pretty simple to navigate through menu's and customize the picture to your liking. I think it is a great set for $1000 but I probably would not have purchased it for the current price of $1800.
- This Zenith HDTV arrived in pristine condition. It has a great picture and sound for the money. As one of America's most respected TV Brands, it's a shame they are now just a name purchased by LG. Zentih had a reputation for TV Quality that was almost 60 years old.
This set looks great with its' silver finish. You need to read the instructions to learn how to get the best picture mode to view in HD. That takes a few minutes of reading and is well worth it. Would purchase again. For the money you can't beat the performance of this set.

5 comments about Mitsubishi LT-46131 46-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV.
- I got this tv a little over a week ago and it is extrememly nice. I have no complaints so far and am very pleased. The picture quality is excellent, especially on Xbox 360
- This is one awesome television. The picture is great via Direct TV and DVD. I don't have cable so I can't give an opinion there. There is one setting that greatly reduces the fuzziness found on most sets when not watching a true 1080 P or I picture.
The closed captioning takes a bit to turn on. (7 button presses on the remote). I use a Harmony 880 that has the ability to program a sequence of commands so I made an ACTIVITY (macro) to allow me to press one button instead of seven. Otherwise, this would be an inconvenience.
I have owned two Mitsubishi TVs. One lasted 17 years. The other is still going after 18 years. I have owned one Sony. The front input panel stopped working after 3 years. The TV quit completely after 7 years. Hopefully, this new Mitsubishi will be like the others I have owned.
I have not yet been able to tune to an over the air (OTA) HDTV broadcast. I am 28 miles from my closest station so I think I will need a serious antenna.
- Working in the industry I have seen tons of televisions. The first day I saw the Mitsubshi LT-46131 I knew it was something special. I have owned this television for about 4 weeks and I am extremely pleased with it. Once calibrated (a few adjustments in the picture menu) the picture quality is absolutely breath-taking. It may not be the final word in black levels, but what it lacks in black-levels it makes up for in picture quality and detail. Don't get me wrong the black-levels on this television are good, just not the best available. The Sony XBR is better than the Mitsubishi in this regard, however the Mitsubishi bests the Sony in color reproduction and is equal to the Sony in picture detail. You can currently find this TV online for just under $3K with great financing offers. This television is a steal, did I mention firewire? Every night I come home the first thing I do is fire this puppy up (right after I kiss my wife), and I'm blown away everytime I tune in a high-def channel. I am no hi-def novice, this is my 4th high definition televison, previously owning a Panasonic PT-53WX52, Panasonic PT-50LC13, Vizio P50HDM and finally my beloved Mitsubishi. The Mitsubishi absolutely trounces my previous televisions, including the highly regarded Vizio. I know HDMI 1.3 is on the horizon but the picture quality of this set is hard to resist. Regular cable looks ok on this television but it needs a quality hi-def signal to really shine. This television is also among the best LCD's in terms of fast moving objects. When watching basketball and football games it's hard to detect any motion blur. I could not have made a better choice in a television. Mitsubishi is a class act.
- I strongly suggest you do not purchase this HDTV if you intend to use it with a cable card. There is a defect in the chip causing pixelation on the HD channels. Brand new set has to go in for repair replacing the entire circuit board taking approximately 1-1 1/2 weeks "IF" the part is available. Can't imagine how long the unit will be gone and I've only had it 2 weeks! Customer service at Mitsubishi lacking - had to call 4 times - VERY LONG WAIT TIMES ON PHONE AND APPOINTMENTS WITH AUTHORIZED REPAIR SERVICES. Spend a few bucks more and go with Sony. This is my last Mitsubishi purchase!
- I owned this TV for 3 weeks. Here is how I feel about this TV:
What I like about it (from the best):
1. No dead-pixels, clouds or banding issues. Not just for mine. Other owners reported similar quality.
2. Better than average SD (480i) performance
3. 1080p input via HDMI and DVI
4. POP, there is no Picture in Picture but this TV can do split screen viewing very well with the exception of viewing two RF channels or two 1080p sources.
5. Swivel stand
6. Lots of freedom in tuning color
7. IEEE 1394 port, for recording digital feeds great if you can find a cheap AVHD
7. DVI-I interface, a rare find these days. 1:1 pixel mapping at 1080p
8. Can level sound volume. Reduces the panic when changing channels
9. On screen TV guide so you see which channel is playing what.
10. Built-in Cable Card
What I hate about it (from the worst):
1. Black crush! While the black is black, so is dark gray and dark blue! Comparing the TV side by side with a Sony, the details in the shadow area is completely missing on the Mitsubishi.
2. Overscans on HDMI. So a 1920x1080 image will be scaled up. Kind of defeating the purpose of having a 1080p TV. In fact, a PC output is HORRIBLE through HDMI due to scaling.
3. Only 1080i via Component - no 1080p for XBOX 360 Platinum/Core.
4. DVI image is missing a few rows/columns. The real resolution is like 1916x1076.
5. VGA (via DVI-A) is only supported up to 1366x768.
6. Cannot automatically expand 4:3 HD program to 16:9 while keeping 16:9 programs untouched.
7. Poor User Interface. I cannot believe people praise about its UI. The interface is slow and non-intuative. It takes a full second after I press "INPUT" for my choices to show up. The menu dedicates an entire icon for rarely used function like naming my input source but to adjust color, I have to cycle through a dozen video options in 2 levels. The menu only provide the most basic configurations.
8. Frequent mode change in split screen. If the video mode of one of the sub-window has changed (e.g. from SD to HD, 480i to 480p), the entire screen will flash. Most serious during channel change.
9. According to an online source, this TV fails 3:2 pull down test for 1080i programs. (but it works for 480i!)
10. Heavy. Close to 100 lb with stand.
11. Will not display if a program is 1080i or 720p. I wonder why?
What I see is Mitsubishi's first serious attempt in the LCD HDTV market. I think they have a lots more to learn and improve.
