- When I first got my Westy, it was wonderful. It had a great picture and was anything you could ask for with an HDTV.
... and then 5 months after the purchase the power supply on my TV died. now I'm questioning the Westinghouse brand.
On the other hand, Westinghouse customer service was awesome about it. I called them a few times with questions about the unit, and I only had to wait on hold once... for less than a minute. The customer service center is all in the U.S. as well.
When I called about the bad TV they immediately arranged to take care of it.
It was a good TV, they have good customer service, but the longevity of the unit is questionable.
- I purchased a Westinghouse TV and within 4 months the TV was broken. At that point I called customer support and they were NOT willing to stand behind thier product. I asked if they found it reasonable for a TV go out in 4 months, all they said was that they could not help me.
- I've never reviewed a product on Amazon before despite my many purchases here. However, I've been so frustrated by this particular TV that the time has come. I was able to use my TV for about 10 minutes - during which I have to say it looked and sounded pretty good - and then the sound went out. Completely. I returned the unit at my own cost to Westinghouse. That was in April 2008, this is almost July, and I still...don't...have a TV. Their warranty process is completely screwed up, and though the agents on the phone are plenty nice, they can't do a darn thing. So enjoy the TV if it works for you, but if it doesn't, be prepared for a long, drawn-out torture of customer service absurdity. You've been warned.
- I bougth this tv last February at Wal-Mart after 4 months the unit just won't turn on.Called up Westinghouse and they said it might be the power cord i tried buying another power cord which cost me, and still the problem is still the same. I don't recommend this product to anybody..
- I guess I made a mistake going against my better instincts and not buying a better known brand. The TV was great for about a month and then the picture just went crazy. Everything was covered in neon green static. I'm hoping to have better luck with customer service than some of the other people here, but after reading their experiences, I'm not too hopeful. Lesson learned, spend the extra money and get a quality brand.

- I am a frequent RCA user and this LCD Scenium L32WD250 looked stylish out of the box with all the features: various inputs, comfortable user interface, beautiful universal remote, and adaptive picture quality I never saw in Samsung or other brands. I chose it because the price was too good to miss and it had a Wake-up Alarm feature that was my primary condition to weed out a sea of lesser LCD television options. My bonuses included the adjustable PIP function that I could not find in 98% of quality televisions regardless of the size or brand, the refresh rate of the picture, and auto input channel buttons on the remote (you can actually set which input or regular channel is turned on by the button you designate). Note: the Amazon product picture is incorrect, look on RCA website for real one (much prettier).

- Within a month of purchase screen would get very light after about 10 minutes of the TV being on. After about 5 more minutes the unit would power off entirely and the power LED would just blink seven times. Would have to unplug the TV from the wall to get it to power back on. After doing some google searching for power issues this appears to be an issue with many Panasonic TV's (didn't see this while researching the product pre-purchase). The Panasonic help line was friendly and helpful and tech was out within 4 business days to repair so I give them some credit for that. Tech has to replace one of the system boards to fix. Talking to the repair guy he confirmed this to be a common issue he has seen with Panasonic brand plasmas (appears to not just be this particular model). Luckily mine was under warranty. Beware this product.
- I lobbied long and hard for a new flat-panel TV and this was the choice in the end. This set balances value, performance, and asthetics. This television has the most beautiful picture I've ever seen first hand in a home. It got the full one hundred hours brea-in and then I used settings found at tweaktv.com. Trust me, broadcast HD, Blu-Ray, and HD-DVD look absolutely stunning and I could not be happier. Amazon's white gloves delivery was as expected and I could not be happier with the overall experience. If you are willing to do the online and on-foot research, Amazon is the best place to buy a television.
- A little disappointed a newer model came out at the same price a couple weeks after I bought it, but I guess this is the way things go in the electronics world. I love the picture when I have HD signal. SD channels are blah...they looked better on my old tube tv. I was a little surprised by the heat the plasma puts off, but I guess its normal for plasmas. The remote that comes with the tv is great. Had to push one button and it syncs all my other players to it (dvd, cable box, vcr, etc).
- I was going to get an LCD.
They were the new thing. Plasma had burn-in, dead pixels, etc.
After doing a bit of digging, it turns out that most of the Plasma problems were 1st and 2nd generation issues. And according to Consumer Reports (plug!), this was one of the best. This was reinforced by talking to friends who had bought LCD and Plasma displays.
The display has deep, rich colors, very good viewing angles, and detail in the blacks that an LCD can't touch. All in all, if you're going to spend nearly $2,000 for a TV, this is hard to beat.
- I jumped to get mine during a one day sale for a rediculously lower price than here.
No dead pixels. Very bright picture. Video reproduction on this plasma is SO much better than most LCDs I've seen.
Using the HDMI ports from a BluRay player and a HD-DVD player I fine tuned mine to the following settings:
Picture Mode: Standard
Picture: -6
Bright: +15
Color: -6
Tint: -3
Sharp: +5
Color Temp: Normal
Color Management: Off
All Filters: Off
Those settings are for when 1080 is filling up the whole picture; but I have to lower the Picture and raise the Brightness for 4:3 or video with black bars at the top & bottom.
Blacks are better on Standard-Def tube monitors; but black on Plasma's are
much much better than the LCD's I've seen. I've attempted to help a few friends set up their LCD's for best black, but resolution deteriorates on most LCD's when blacks look good. On the other hand the Picture and Brightness tuning on this plasma behaves very similar to a Tube monitor. Blacks are still a bit too milky for my taste, but I guess I'll have to raise the room lighting to trick out my eyes. I like this plasma for the price I paid for it.

- Shipped on time, with delivery into the house. No damage, the driver helped to open it so I could inspect it before signing off on it. The television has a beautiful picture, especially when coupled with an HD signal. The picture is bright, but can be turned down through the on screen controls. The TV remembers the settings for each video input. There are seven video inputs that can be selected. The labels are well marked. The built in speakers are okay, but a TV like this needs a superior sound system to go with the picture.
- Delivered on time. Very pleased with the picture (I have an HD satellite hook-up). The speakers are fine, even though I have the audio output hooked up to my stereo for even better sound. Inputs work fine. I have my PC and a DVD recorder/player attached to different inputs and I'm very happy. The fact that you can replace the bulb yourself is a plus! The only drawback I've found is that I can't figure out how to get the video output to work, even after trying to find the solution on the net, so 4 out of 5 stars.
- I have watched this set for a little over a year -- two football seasons. Yet to find a rear projection set that matches the field of view. That includes months of searching before purchase and continued showroom visits since the purchase date. You can watch from either side of the set and not notice the blackening effect of most RP TV's. Plan on a surround sound system for this size screen for full enjoyment. I consider HDILA superior to any DLP set I have seen. Even superior to the more expensive Sony technology. No repair issues in the year plus of fairly heavy use. My connection is cable.
- I've owned this set for about 18 months now and overall have been pleased with the purchase. Before I bought my first HDTV, I searched around for several weeks and narrowed my choices down to the Sony XBR2 series and this JVC. They both had the best picture in my eyes. As the JVC was about 25% cheaper, my decision seemed simple.
However, after only 4 months of ownership, one of the main circuit boards developed a problem and I had to have it picked up for warranty repair. The part was on backorder, so I was without a TV for a month. Since then, the TV has performed without issue.

- I'll put this here because I'm not subscribing to some goofy forum just to give a review, and all the Verizon Fios customers are trying to figure out what's up. They are giving these away free with their service bundle, but can tell you nothing, I mean nothing. They don't have to because people are willing to walk on coals to sign up. Straight scoop, picture is great on this tv. All the options in the world, so you have to mess with the setup a bit. Hint: choose picture option vivid. Fios is way good enough, standard without HD, on this 19". I say save your HD money for the big screen set. Hooked up Phillips 5982 DVD 1080i upconverter to this, $59. Way cool resolution and picture. Check out the reviews on that. Also, the sound truly is inadequate, but not a problem, because every 19" is way inadequate. No worries. It has a headphone mini jack output in the back. It also has optical audio out in the back, but that is way overkill for a 19". Back to the mini jack. Hooked up Cambridge Soundworks, $79, oh my my. You can hook up any PC speakers to this. Went direct, no additional volume control needed. You control the sound through your blaster. It cuts off the TV speakers, like you need those. Also, this TV has the same specs as the Aquos version, except no goofy magnetic remote control. Oh, yeah, use your Fios STB remote to run the TV, DVD and STB. It works great. Follow the insructions provided by Verizon on the remote control, make all the units turn off and on at the same time.
- Purchased at Circuit City at a great price but you get what you pay for.
1 month after the purchase the HDMI port no longer worked and 3 months later the set will not power up. The warranty is 90 days parts and labor and 1 year parts so in order to fix the set I will have to shell out more than I paid for it in labor costs. Currently pleading with support to pay for the labor since it's only 1 month out of warranty.
- When I finally received my free HDTV from Verizon (about three months after it was promised) I couldn't wait to try it out to see if it really worked. All I can say is WOW! Loaded with features, beautiful picture when used with FiOS, easy to use--well worth the wait.
The set fits in great where I wanted it to. It's not the biggest TV in the world (what do you expect for free?) but it's a great little set.

5 comments about Axion ACN-5326 2.5-Inch Handheld LCD TV.
- this portable tv picks up reception seemingly everywhere. i received television stations that i am unable to obtain at my home.
- My comments are based on only one day of owning, but so far it appears to be comparable or better than any of the 2.5 in. handhelds on the market, for a very fair price. I knew nothing about this brand before, but they appear to be more or less dedicated to producing portable tvs and that shows in this model. The screen is of the latest active TFT design, not the less vibrant passive matrix design in the older handhelds. The screen, according to the packaging, is now at over 112000 dots which is amongst the highest resolution of any other handhelds. Picture quality is of course dependent on the signal strength, but with a good signal the picture is very watchable and even small print (e.g. stock tickers) are very readable. Color is good with a strong signal and the sound is very clear. Alkaline batteries seem to last for about 4 hours of continuos usage which is also in line with the current crop of portables. A car cord or ac adapter is a good idea for extended viewing with access to power.
For its intended purpose as a tv on the go it seems well suited. As far as long term reliability, I can't yet say. Nevertheless, if you're looking for a small handheld tv to supplement your recreation, this seems like a good choice, especially for its price.
- I purchased this tv with the hopes of having it as a back-up for a hurricane. I lost cable and began using it. The reception was terrible, but I was at least getting 2 stations. I just now went to use it again a few hours later and it is already broken. Aside from having terrible reception when it does work, it is also a worthless piece of junk Do yourself a favor and buy a better tv...one that actually works.
- I bought this tv as part of my "hurricane supplies" and was pleasantly surprised because initially, I was very suspicious since I'd never heard of the company and was leaning towards a casio. It has a clear picture, the sound is good, and it worked fine for the entire time I was without power. I think it is an excellent value.
- Just wanted you to know that i'm very pleased with my portable hand held tv. Its been around water, vibrations, the elements to a certain degree. I use it almost every day, i've enjoyed my tv for about a year and half now. Once i had the polarity crossed up and lost my screen. But the people their at action took care of the problem. If i were to buy another portable tv, i would proberly buy this one all over again. I forgot to mention that whenever my family and i go on vacations, we always carry it with us, we've played movies with it, it has the a/v jacks, i really like that part a lot. I'm sure if you are looking for a small tv this is what you are looking for, you just can't beat the price, i tried.... Have a great, and Safe week.
