- I'm not sure how the quality is on this TV, but if you would like your TV in a resonable amount of time I would not buy it from Amazon. I ordered my TV on June 14th,it is now June 26th and I have still have not received it. I did track my item on CEVA and it has been sitting in a warehouse an hour from my house since June 21st. I would highly reccommend buying from a different company.
- I ordered this TV late night July 1. I got it around 11:00 this morning through CEVA. The delivery service doesn't affect my opinion of the TV, but CEVA was excellent.
I immediately hooked up my PS3 and HDMI cable (Cables to go 3 meter 10.2gbps, bought from amazon) and after fixing the sound and video output settings (I had it hooked up via DVI and RCA cabling, and my old TV only accepted up to 1080i) it worked beautifully. Even without being hooked up to my surround sound system, the sound quality is good. It won't blow you away, but given the form factor of the TV it's still better than I had expected and good enough that I'm not desperate to hook up better speakers.
I popped in Blade Runner on Blu Ray and noticed the picture was a bit fuzzy. I then checked and found that the PS3 was outputting 1080i as that was the best my old TV could display. A quick change to 1080p and away I went and was absolutely amazed by the picture. I didn't see any judder, and the colors were magnificent. Black levels seem good, but I have it in a room with windows so I can't make it completely dark to really get a good feel for it yet. The glossy screen looks nice when it's off, but is a little noticeable when you've got a direct light source on it.
I bought mine as a refurb from Warehouse Deals by Amazon, which ran me less than 1100. It came in the original box, has no dead pixels, and works perfectly. There was some tape adhesive on the bottom over maybe two square inches, but that will come off easily enough once I find where I put the cleaner. This was my first time buying a refurb product from anyone apart from the manufacturer, and it's been great. Very worth saving $400.
Amazing TV. I'd say it's definitely worth the $1500 Amazon has it for, but paying less is always nice too.
- Nice TV, 100% better than my 35" analog, but not as good as my 50" and 42" Panasonic Plasma TV's, bought this TV mainly to hook up to PS3
- I bought this TV about a month ago. The blu-ray movies looks awesome on this TV. The standard definition TV is so so, but I guess you purchase this TV mainly for blu-ray and high definition sports.
Overall a good TV but I think the newer series (650) may be a bit better in terms of specs. But they are still $1500 or more so since I only paid $1234 for this TV, it was well worth it.
- Picture quality is oustanding
Blu-Ray looks amazing
Games look amazing
120hz looks amazing
althought there is slight blurring sometimes during cable televisiona nd sometimes in movies, its not enough to make a difference in my opinion of this tv. Its excellent.
Got this tv at almost 50% retail price so I cant complain.
If youre searching for a tv, then go no further than this.
If your product is shipped using CEVA then make sure you call them to check on your tv. They are really nice guys and I found a depot near my home and went and picked the tv up 5 days early. They even let me pull my car in the warehouse and helped me load it up. Their service is highly recommendable.
10/10

- This is a very nice unit.. it was easy to set up and install, the controls are super easy to use. Nice, clear picture. I recomend this TV to everyone.
- Received the unit and it almost immediately had video problems. Installation went well and the product looks good. But the screen would blank out after a few hrs of being on and the audio would continue to work.
Sent back to seller who promptly sent a new unit. So far so good.
- The product is the best deal for you money. It is a great product which delivers on all promises...the hardest part was the installation but that too was made easy with the clear instructions and drilling diagram and mounting brackets...all included. Highly recommend, I doubt you'll find a better product with this size screen for less. Plus service is really good and a reputation to back it up. Would purchase from them again. Thanks and happy shopping. Dave
- I really love this TV/DVD/Radio/CD/Clock/AM/FM Radio and speaker phone. Yes,it is even a speaker phone if you plug it into a telephone jack. It can be used as a baby monitor with a few add ons.
The best thing is that it is very slim and compact, you barely see it under the counter until you pull the screen down. It has a 10.2" wide-screen LCD TV. It of course doesn't have the picture quality that a plasma has but it is fine for the kitchen. I love being able to put in a DVD for my grandkids while they eat their lunch and watch the news while fixing breakfast.
- The 10.2" drop down TV/DVD/CD player was just what I needed for my boat. The TV I had bounced around and took up a lot of room. This drop down TV etc. is out of the way & perfect for the boat.
Thanks

5 comments about Sony Bravia W-Series KDL-46W3000 46-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV.
- The Sony KDL 46W3000 is perfection when watching true HD programming or Blu-Ray disks. Installation is simple and set up is flawless. Calibration is a bit more difficult (unless you pay for professional calibration). Standard picture mode works well for most all programming. SD programming looks best if the wide mode is left at normal. Stretching SD programming is too distorting for my taste. Though not a huge sports watcher, what football, baseball, hockey, soccer and golf the hubby and I have viewed as looked marvelous on this HDTV. We've seen very minimal motion blur (mostly on SD DVD close-up moving head shots), no judder, no jaggies, no TBE. We watch the 46W3000 anywhere from 2 feet to 8 feet away. As long as the programming is HD, there is no concern on artifact or pixelation. SD programming is best viewed from 6-8 feet away on. All in all, the Sony KDL 46W3000 is an amazing HDTV and just perfect for HD/Blu-Ray.
- I'll describe the TV and the delivery in two separate paragraphs. The rating I have given is for the TV only.
The Sony 46W3000 lives up to every expectation. The colors and resolution are spectacular. I haven't found a flaw of any kind (I used to design television monitors for warbirds). Stated simply its a really nice piece. No buyer regrets whatsoever.
The 'White Glove' delivery was another matter. The delivery company called day before to indicate the set would be delivered between 12-5pm. So as the drill goes you rearrange your life and wait hoping the delivery will be sooner not later. I waited and waited. finally about 4:30p I received a call indicating that the delivery was running late. I had a concert to attend at 7p so the delivery was now becoming awkward. Truck showed up at 6:30p. Driver had a sprained ankle and was on a cane, had no helper. Was barely able to help carry in the set. Had my wife been home alone there would have been no way to bring the set in. A jack strap in the truck used to hold the box in place had cut clear through the cardboard box. Fortunately, no visible damage to the contents. Driver and I unpacked the box and quickly tested the set with a portable dvd player. I thanked the driver and went to the concert. Arrived late got poor seating. From my experience.. Amazon needs to rethink their 'White Glove' Delivery
- I have a few LCD TV's and this one blows me away! I spent quite a long time reviewing different LCD units from different magazines, companies, and online personal reviews, and I found that besides the top Sony Bravia, this one is by far my best purchase I have had in a long time!
Make sure you get yourself a set of good Monster HD cables
- We bought this product after a couple of weeks of research and thinking. We needed a TV for our niche in the family room. Since we already have a niche, several recommended we buy a DLP so you'll get a bigger screen TV for the same or lower price. When I went to the best buys and the like, I found that the DLP looks good if you are right in front but it does not have a good viewing angle. I loved the look of plasma TVs but again since I wanted it in my family room, I was looking for something brighter. I loved all the SONY's in the stores. Amazon had a great deal on this TV, no taxes, free white glove delivery. I saved nearly $600. I am extremely happy with the HD channels and brightness of this TV in the family room. The only con is for some channels where there is a lot of speed in the picture the TV acts like its catching up. I was told the XBR with 120 Hertz is better in this regard. Overall, I am very pleased with the product and with Amazon. In the future I will not buy any product without checking on Amazon.
- This is the Fist TV i actually had to buy. My roomate before had his own rear projection TV and placed in the living room. So when he had to move out, i had to buy a my own TV and this cought my eye being an HD and LCD. For $1800 it wasnt bad, works perfectly out of the box and been working good for 4 months already. I have Monster everything so i really have nothing bad to say on the picture quality and sound because i buy the best there is. There is nothing for me to compare too just an old fuzzy TV. I will go bigger eventually due to my living room being big.

5 comments about V VIZIO VX42L - 42" LCD TV - widescreen - 720p - HDTV.
- We have been using this for a year now.
When my 52" Projection TV that costs 1400$ broke only after 3 years of use. Repair cost is almost the cost of this LCD TV. My Panasonic is as big as an upright piano and this one fits on top of a medium size table. I am sure the Sony's, the LGs, the Samsung are technically superior. But unless you are very discriminating, the difference for me is not enough to spend the extra hundreds of dollars.
Pros:
-Price. (It was available for 875$ from Sams Club at the time I bought it last year).
-2 HDMIs, 2 Components, 2 VGA, S-Video, etc. With HDMI, you have audio and video in a single cable.
-Works with my Fios TV HDMI, Macmini HDMI, Upconverting Phillips HDMI DVD player, Wii, etc.
-Viewable even at sharp angles
-No burn-in as opposed to Plasma
-Lighter than Plasma displays
-1080i
-Excellent computer monitor if you want it big. I use it to watch videocast from Itunes with a wireless Logitech V200 Cordless Mouse.
Cons:
-It does not look like something you would like to show off. Not very elegant, but looks alright
- this is our first tv upgrade since our 34'' tube tv. the vizio is awesome quality for the money spent. it's got all the connections and plug-ins needed for every sort of accessory. i use an antenna to pick up HD channels and it is a great picture.
the settings and menus are easy to navigate and great for minor adjustments for different uses (i.e. games, movies, sports).
it's relatively lightweight (~50 pounds).
the remote is easy to use and has all the options on there that make switching from TV to compenent to AV easy as well as changing settings.
if you've got an extra $500, the samsung and sony 42" LCDs looked more vibrant in color in comparison to the vizio, but the Vizio is a much better buy for the money.
- This is our first HDTV. I was nervous that only getting a 720p set would not be good enough, but I was pleasantly surprised. It has plenty of connections for our TiVo, Apple TV, PS2 and DVD and we have a few left over! It is definitely worth every penny (even though Sam's Club had it for $897).
- The Vizio VX42L 42" LCD HDTV, brings a sharp vibrant picture to life with just the right number of bells & whistles that will make anyone happy to own this affordable LCD HDTV.
This has to be the easiest setup for a LCD TV that I have ever seen. Once the source is plugged in Cable, Dish, or DirectTV and all the channels located use the low budget remote to navigate to the menu screen and setup your color scheme for perfect viewing or use one of the several presets. The preset color schemes are not to my liking, spend a moment or two and fine tune your viewing pleasure. Once these items are set you are on your way to enjoyable entertainment.
Want to be totally blown away by HD clarity watch anything in HD and you will be hooked. Connect a HD DVD via HDMI connection and you will appreciate this set even more. I would have loved the set to have an auto source when a device is turned on but I can get over this.
Some great features include freeze frame, screen zoom, PIP and the many AV inputs.
I managed to get this set NEW at an unbelievable price of $700. Do some extensive homework before you buy and I am sure you will find this set comes out on top.
- Let me first start by saying that yes, Vizio is a value brand. However, after having seen 1080p Samsung units that are twice the price, I can definitively say that the Vizio is able to hang with the big boys.
Straight out of the box, there were some calibration issues, and each input retains its own settings; you'll have to go through the process for each device you have hooked up. After bumping down the brightness and backlighting, image quality is phenomenal. HDTV is crisp, smooth, and rarely jagged. SDTV scales nicely with an OTA antenna, and is much less pixelated than I had assumed it would be. The remote layout does leave something to be desired, but it has all of the important functionality on it (sans backlighting). PIP settings are very useful, although you cannot use PIP on certain combinations of inputs (i.e. component and RGB at the same time). This is not a huge problem, however, since you more than likely will want to flip between the tuner and another input.
I can't comment on how the XBOX 360 or PS3 look on it, but I can tell you that the Wii performs extremely well with component cables. I even have cables with extra thick jack sleeves, and they fit without any issue.
Sound is just as mediocre as any other flat panel tv in this price range; that's why I hooked it up to the surround sound as quickly as possible.
For those worried about the illuminated Vizio logo, it quickly dims after power up; I've not been distracted by it once, plus it looks pretty classy.
Long story short, at under $900, you will not be able to beat this deal in terms of overall quality and value.
Pros:
Great image quality
No ghosting
Works excellently as a computer monitor
Wii looks fantastic!
Good PIP functionality
Value, value, value
Cons:
Slight light bleeding from upper right hand corner (probably just my set)
So-so speakers
Remote layout

2 comments about Sceptre 32" 720p HDTV LCD - X32BV-NAGA.
- Bought one of these last September(2007)and it has been trouble free. I especially appreciate the QAM tuner which allows me to pickup extra HD channels from my cable service without the extra cost set top box and HD Tier option.
- I purchased the Sceptre X32 in November of 2006. The screen went blank 13 months later, just after the warranty ran out. Sceptre kindly honored the warranty even though it had technically run out after 12 months. They repaired the TV and it worked for 5 more months before going dark a second time. In both cases, the display ceased working altogether regardless of source. This TV is above our bar and was rarely used. It probably never reached 100 hours of total use.
I gave the product two stars based on my appreciation of Sceptre's customer service when the issue first occurred (honoring the warranty even after expiration). I'm not sure if I just got a lemon or if this is a common issue with Sceptre. That said, I'll stick with name brands next time.

- Do Not Buy this t.v Terrible!!! The lcd screen went! Never will buy one of their products again! Buyer beware!
- My wife and I own a 23" Initial LCD HDTV w/built in DVD player for our bedroom. We really enjoy it. The picture is clear, and I've never had any poblems with the DVD player. The one problem I had, however, is with the remote. I was told that the remote codes would never be compatible with US codes for some reason, and I took that for granted. One day, out of curiosity, I googled Initial TV remote codes. I found on Universal Remotes website a query engine, and I put in Initial. The results displayed "1990." I punched it in and voila! We now only have one remote in the bedroom. So try that code if you own Initial, it will work.
Back to the TV. My friend owns an electronics store in town, and he's had this 26" tv on display and playing for two years. It has always been rock solid and the picture is bright and clear. I use CC and what I like is you can remove the black from the captioning and view the CC with white letters only. I like the clean design and the speakers sound nice. I'm hard of hearing but I can hear the treble just fine. And it sounds good for bedroom use listening to DVD's or concerts at a lower volume.
Before you judge this brand please go somewhere where you can see it. I like the Initial brand and wish I got this one instead of the 37" Olevia we got. By the way, another weird thing: for some reason, because of the shape of the screen on Initial tv's, their pictures seem much larger than they actually are. I don't know what the difference is, but they look larger and the color and resolution are great.
- We have the 23" version of the tv/dvd combo...and love it. The only issue we've found is not being able to program our cable tv remote to this tv...not compatible. We have to use 2 remotes (one to change channels and one for on/off and volume). Other than that, we are thrilled with our purchase. We've had the tv for 2 years now without a hitch.
- The TV which was received was not the one pictured in the Amazon ad nor
described in the description. The TV received had speakers underneath and not on the sides. The ad noted that the TV had frame by frame capability which the one received did not. Discount Jungle offered a $20 refund or to take it back at my expense (over $50) I seem to be stuck with it.
