- I ordered this from the Panasonic EPP. I had it for about a week so far and I'm very satisfied. This is my first LCD TV and it met all my expectations. The interface and manual is simple to understand and use. I have it hook up directly to cable and both SD and HD channels look great. Picture quality- excellent (within recommended viewing angle). Some subtle things I like are the gloss black finish, low power consumption, above average speakers (and sleek design), and the remote which has a great fit and feel. I totally recommend this product for anyone in the market for a 26" LCD tv.
- I love this. I looked at a 40 inch and this and this had far better picture quality and sound. I mainly wanted this for video games and it was great with movies too. It also paid to have Amazon Prime, because I saved a fortune with the free shipping.
- This was the perfect choice for the in law unit. Mounted on the wall it looks great, and the picture is crisp.
- I spent two months shopping for a new HDTV. Checked out all the top ones. Decided on a Samsung, then saw the new Panasonic 26LX85. It blew me away with the picture and features. Went back three times to different sellers, and it always caught my eye.
Just received it two days ago. Absolutely made the right decision. Get it before it becomes the top seller it really will be. Lots of features, no pc hookup(get 32") and 10K dynamic. Check it out. Panasonic you made a great viewing experience for me!!!
- Excellent quality for its price category, especially given that it was on sale when I bought it. Very high quality image and the speaker sound is about as good as internal speakers get; given that these were my two main qualifications for it, I am well satisfied. Easy to set up as well. My sole small irritation stems from the manual, which could have been easier to read, but all in all an excellent buy.

- This TV has an unbelievable picture and is a steal at this price under $5000. This is a 2007 model and the 2008 version goes for $8000 as did this model last year
- We've just received the unit (safely intact) with no dead or stuck pixels. The TV immediately discovered my satellite and my PS3 (after using the first HDMI input). There is an "auto" HDMI port (Input 7) that didn't like the PS3, but I haven't read the manual to see what the auto label means. We tried both Hellboy and PotC: Dead Man's Chest and they look absolutely stunning.
The TV is immense! I'd suggest that you sit no closer than 8 feet or you will notice the pixels. The remote is easy to use and back-lit. The only negative that isn't really mentioned anywhere is that the TV uses HDMI 1.2a instead of the current 1.3x. However, nothing is available that takes advantage of the new HDMI standard and it will probably be many years before it will be widely used.
I've also read that it's not quite as "fast" even with its 120Hz/4 ms rating. Not being a serious audio/video person, I haven't noticed any difference between my old 42" Plasma and this LCD in terms of display speed, so I haven't seen any indication of this. I've also played a few PS3 games and didn't notice any refresh issues. By the way, if you think movies look incredible on this LCD, you really need to see a computer/console game. Amazing!
Overall, this is really an excellent deal and should not be missed. I was initially worried about purchasing such a large item over the Internet, but Amazon has always delivered without problems. If you were thinking about a large DLP to get that "movie experience", I'd really consider this LCD instead as it is brighter, clearer, easy to move, and takes up less room. So, buy it already!

- I love this TV! Reading these other reviews helped, as I was in the ever-lost world of looking at so many TVs. Also had the LCD vs. Plasma concern. My living room is small, so the 42" is too small, 50" too large. Just like Goldilocks, this one is just right! The black bezel finish looks great. The sound is pretty good, would prob be better with a home-audio system, but for movies, it is incredible as is. The HD channels are good. I don't see the reflection problem other Plasmas have. Can't wait to watch football on this, it is like sitting on the bench! Got mine at Best Buy and it was worth the $59 delivery fee. This is one great TV for the money! Of the models I researched, Panasonic, Pioneer, and Samsung seemed to be the top 3. My friend has the 50" and likes it as well.
- Panasonic Viera TH-46PZ85U 46-inch 1080p Plasma HDTV
The first day I set this TV up, I watched Dream Girls in HD on HBO from my cable company. I saw Dream Girls before - just after it was released on DVD, but I never experienced Dream Girls like I did the first night I watched it on the Panasonic Viera TH-46PZ85U 46-inch 1080p Plasma HDTV . The colors (especially reds) popped. The subtle shades of blacks and browns were (are) incredible. The picture was the clearest, brightest, most amazing I've ever seen on a TV. Since then, I continue to be blown away at the visible subtleties in the colors and crispness of the picture. Standard def DVD's upconverted to 1080i are very good (although a bit soft on the edges-not a fault of the TV). Regular TV (via Cable) is excellent. A video conference unit connected to the PC input on the TV displays a picture that is better than any I've experienced on other monitors.
I have an Apple TV connected to the 3rd HDMI port on the TV. This past week-end I rented the HD version of Sweeney Todd from the iTunes store. The picture was every bit as beautiful as Dream Girls HD, and seemed better, if that's even possible. The pairing of Apple TV with the Panasonic plasma is an unbeatable combination. However, I'm anxious for the next generation of Panasonic Blu-Ray DVD player so that I can see how this TV displays a true 1080p picture.
For sound, I have the TV connected to a Sony Home Theater System via optical cable from the TV to the Theater system and HDMI cable from the Theater system to the TV (for DVD playback). Interestingly, these two systems communicate with each other. Apparently Panasonic's Viera and Sony's Bravia systems of component communications are the same, or at least similar enough that they are compatible. Using the Panasonic remote control to turn on the Panasonic TV also turns on the Sony sound system. Setting the TV to TV mode, or DVD mode, or Cable/Sat mode causes the Sony to follow suit and set itself for correct playback. Volume on the Sony is controlled through the Panasonic TV remote. Turning off the TV also turns off the sound system.
Nice Job, Panasonic, Apple, and Sony!
- Delivery was prompt, right into the living room and opened to show it was perfect. Plays great, no problems at all. And we saved a lot of money compared to retail stores.
- This tv graced our family room the moment we set it up. It has great colors and is very sturdy even just on the stand it came with on top of a console. The picture quality is great.
- Like most everyone else I didn't take buying a new tv lightly, after all you're not talking about going to the local department store and grabbing something off the shelf for $300-$500 any more. Spending up to two grand on a tv makes you really want to get what you're paying for, and there are so many options in screen sizes, options, features and even the most basic decisons such as LDC or plasma that you'd better do some research to know what you're getting into.
I had been looking to replace our old 32" tv for a couple of months, but didn't find the perfect screen size until Panasonic came out with this particular 46" model. I knew I wanted plasma, I knew I wanted a good brand name and I knew I wanted to be able to take advantage of the features like HDMI outputs, optical outputs and various other controls so that I could easily add a home theater system later. Amazon had the best deal going at the time so I bought it, and the white glove delivery was just fine. I was happy to get it all for under $1,700 when it would have cost me at least $300+ more at any local retailer.
I haven't experienced any problems at all with the tv, it was in perfect shape right out of the box and instantly confirmed that I made a good decision with the 46". The picture on an HD channel is stunning in either 1080 or 720, and regular shows in 480 don't look as bad as I was lead to believe they'd be. The remote is very intuitive and easy to use. The sound from the tv speakers is fine, if a little flat and tinny, but I don't plan to use them much anyway. I've already received my Panasonic SC-PT960 Home Theater system and that should handle any complaints I have with the tv's speakers when I find the time to set it up. It's very easy to do, and with both the tv and the theater system having digital optical capability I'll be able to get the best sound possible from a HTiB.
If you're looking for a really good buy on a plasma, you want something bigger than a 42" and smaller than a 50", and you want a smooth transaction and professional delivery this set deserves your attention. I really don't think I could be any happier with something else.

- It is a nice TV/Monitor what ever your purpose be. But I got it with the intent of using it as a computer monitor. I was excited as I took it out of the box but that excitement soon dwindled as I sought to use my higher resolutions and the TV was not able to do so. I am a graphics student so I wanted to use this screen to get as much screen real-estate as possible but I was a bit disappointed in that department. The screen goes up to some higher resolutions but not past the 1200 mark. And I wanted to use it at 1800+. So, if you have the same intent buy another screen as I am doing or get a video to HDMI converter and see how that treats you. Aside from that the screen is nice. The speakers are okay but there are far better speakers on lower end screens. Just something to keep in mind. All in all it is a really nice screen and looks gorgeous. If i ever get a flat screen TV it will probably be this one. So you decide. Happy shopping :)
- I received my television faster then expected, and was very happy with the results. Picture quality is astounding through HDMI, like looking out a glass window. Although my DVD player has 720p output and the Sharp television can except as high as 1080p, I found transitioning my television to 720p left the image grainer than if I just left it at 480p. Of course, once I make the purchase of a Blue-ray player I doubt I'll find myself using anything less than 1080p, even if they say you can't tell the difference.
Sound quality is okay, it lacks a certain robust impression, you won't be feeling the explosions or anything, but the dialouge comes through and soundtracks eminate clearly enough.
Because I don't have HD cable or satellite, it was of no great concern to me when making the purchase that regular television would be my bread and butter in terms of it's use. I found images to be acceptable, and made of few adjustment to contrast and color till I was satisfied. All in all, this being my first HD television, so far so good.
- Well I Got this tv within 4 days of purchase i ordered it Sunday and got it Thursday it has great piture quality and vivid colors and it also works great as a pc monitor my video games look amazing and it was great investment for this tv so anyone looking for a good buy on a tv buy this one
- The set I received is a total lemon. It worked OK for about 10 days, and then various functions just stopped working, one after another.
I am returning the set to Amazon for a refund. I don't want a replacement and I don't want it fixed - I just don't trust any set that would cr@p out like this after only 10 days. I won't buy another Sharp set either.
When this happened, I looked on the Sharp website and they don't even list this model as being for sale anymore there. So maybe it's a discontinued item? Wish I had known that before I bought it from Amazon.
I've been an Amazon customer since about Day One and have always been pleased with their service and willingness to take back items that are defective.
I was not very pleased with the so-called "white glove" delivery service though, and I will have to send it back through the same freight people, so that's a drag. It would be much easier to send it back by UPS and the box is not too big, but Amazon says no, I have to wait to be contacted by the freight company again and then they will come back and get it.
I love Amazon and I love my UPS guy, but this "white glove" business I do not care for and I will never order anything from Amazon again that has to be delivered that way.
- Great color contrast! Great Picture! Brings the people on the screen right into my den! Probably will buy a larger version of the same TV, soon!

- This works beautifully. It doesn't pick up any channels by itself, but with an antennae, it rocks!
- This cheap little digital TV is lightweight and convenient, but as might be expected for the price there are no bells and whistles. It's digital but not HD. It offers two viewing resolutions (16:9 and 4:3), but because it's not HD, 4:3 generally looks better (though considerably smaller than 16:9, of course). Closed captioning is miniscule. Audio is loud enough, but a bit tinny.

5 comments about Sony Bravia XBR-Series KDL-32XBR6 32-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV.
- After several years of having HD in my home I have seen the evolution of the technology and Sony has been a part of my TV viewing experience since childhood. I have had several name brand TVs including both a Sharp and Sony HD TV (1080p). However, I was not prepared for the fantastic quality of this 32" Sony Bravia XBR. Picture quality is amazing: it's bright, clear, and vibrant. I was particularly impressed with the white-glove delivery service of Amazon. The delivery was scheduled, was on time, and with attention to unpacking and checking the unit prior to their departure. This Sony TV is amazing with the Verizon FIOS TV service I have connected. Look, compare, and I'm sure you'll judge that SONY definitely has HD in their DNA and they do it best.
- Normally I wait a few months before giving any sort of review on high ticket items such as this telvision simply to give time for issues, if any, to surface.(See my review of the KDL-52XBR4). But in this instance I already know I have a great piece of hardware and feel no reservations about writing so early on.
I have had this television for about three weeks now (purchased online via SonyStyle) and I love it. I bought the XBR model simply becuase it harbors most of the same things my larger KLD-52XBR4 model does. Namely, native 1980x1080p resolution, Bravia 2 engine, a myriad of controls for in depth picture calibration, numerous HDMI unputs, etc.
Initial setup is a snap, as the television asks simple questions with regards to language and region, what type of signals it can expect to receive, and what other components, if any, should it expect to be connected to. Once set up the tv works like any other. SD programming looks pretty good since it's a smaller panel, and HD programming shines given its native 1080p resolution. Since I purchased this for the bedroom I only have a Sony upscaling DVD player conected to it, but I am utilizing the Bravia Sync feature and I love it. All I have to do is hit a button on my remote, select the device I want to use, and everything I need for that device turns on. This translates into not having to get out of bed. The speakers are great for a set this size regardless of the output setting you choose.
As far as cons, I don't really have any to list. After reading some of the other reviews I can't verify the 'smelly' review, as this tv doesn't run hot for me at all. I have it mounted on my bedroom wall, so it's possible that the placement of the tv with regards to surrounding items/cabinets/armoirs might make a difference. Also, please note that contrary to what the features checklist (above) states, this television does in fact have Sony's XROSS Media Bar (3D on-screen feature navigation). I don't know why it states otherwise, but it leads me to think that maybe the checklist was released prior to Sony's new line of smaller tv's for 2008.
All in all, this television is great and works perfectly as a bedroom set. It saves tons of space when mounted to the wall and has plenty of connection options for any device you might want to plug in. The remote is nice, although I wish it had a backlight feature like the one for my XBR52 does, which makes for easy navigation in low-light situations.
I agree that while this television is priced higher than other telvisions in its size class, it is completely worth it for all the options it comes with. Some might argue that 720p for a panel this size is fine, but once you have 1080p it's hard to go back, and this is the only television currently offering a native 1080p resolution for its size. Recommended!
- I've had this TV for about a month now, and let me first say that it is an amazing monitor. It's bright, sharp, and I definitely concur with all of the other positive reviews about it. However, my low rating is more a reflection on Amazon and other websites that continue to "cut and paste" their product descriptions either from previous year model specifications or from really flawed research. In purchasing a new TV, the 3 criteria I had was LCD (Plasma is great but a real drain on electricity); 1080p (we have HD satelite and a Sony PS3/blu-ray); and last but probably the most important for me was 120hz capability. If you look both on this site and on sites like ZDnet or CNET, they all describe this as having Motionflow (Sony's version of 120hz) which dramatically reduces judder. I know that some people don't find the "sopa opera" effect all that appealing, but I really like it for some things and wanted it for my next TV.
THE SONY KDL-32XBR6 DOES NOT HAVE MOTIONFLOW/120hz.
I've researched the forums and because of coflicting reporst (some coming directly from Sony Technical Support) I know that their is still debate on whether it does or not. I've concluded that it DOES NOT. I've spoken with Sony's tech guys...they say it doesn't. Their website suggest from an ommission of this specification on their product description that it does not. And finally, I've spent the better have of a month renting Blu-Ray after Blu-Ray trying to replicate the 120hz "look" and have not been able to do it. I've played with settings on both the tv and my PS3 and their is nothing to indicate that it has Motionflow. It does have Cinemotion which is definitely NOT Motionflow. Even the manual for the TV idicates that only their new "W" series has Motion Enhancer which activates Motionflow (even this isn't entirely accurate because I know that some of the other larger XBR4, 5 and 6 models do have Motionflow.
Anyway, as I said, this is a non-essential feature for some people, but it was a major reason for me choosing this model, and I'm now extremely irritated by Amazon for posting misleading product information.
With all of this said, I am still satisfied with the TV for all of my other needs. The PS3 games and movies look beatiful, and I've seriously become spoiled for HD (it's actually pretty jarrig to go back to standard definition when switching to non-HD channels). Would I still recomend this TV?...yes but as most know, Sony relies heavily on its name recognition which allows them to hike up the price point of their stuff. I would certainly look at Samsung's LCDs as well. Just as good (if not better) and usually marked $50-$200 less.
- No dead pixels. The picture is crystal clear. It has a fabulous ATSC digital tuner (as well as a conventional NTSC analog tuner). I really don't think the Sony KDL-32XBR6 runs hot like other posters have said. I guess "hot" and "cold" are relative (as well as subjective) terms.
We mostly use the TV to watch OTA (over-the-air) high definition free television broadcasts. Thus, we appreciate the included TV Guide. I think the sound is fabulous...absolutely no complaints. As you flip through the various menus, the "eye candy" is simply icing on the cake.
The TV has controls on top. We have kids that aren't able to reach the buttons, so we bought them a Sony RM-EZ4 "big button" remote control so that they can change the channels and the volume.
Originally we had our eye on the Sony KDL-32XBR4 television. We were waiting for the price to drop to something more reasonable. My wife informed me one day that the "XBR4" was no longer available and that it had been replaced by the "XBR6". She said it looks like the major difference is that it now has 1080p instead of 720p. Well that was enough to peak my interest again.
We went to Best Buy to see it, and we were wowed! I asked the salesman if Best Buy would match an online price. Well, they came down $100 off their listed price. I called them back and they were out of stock, so I ended up purchasing the TV from B&H Photo Video.
- I bought this LCD a week ago and I have no complaints, it took a few days for the onscreen guide to get the lineup, but it is all good in my opinion. I think the remote is fine and put my hand on the screen and it is not hot or smelly or anything. I put my hand on many LCD's and Plasmas in Circuit City and they were all very warm. HDMI with my Onkyo upscaling to 1080p is excellent quality.

5 comments about Sony Bravia M-Series KDL-26M4000 26-Inch 720p LCD HDTV.
- I just bought this model, and I also own a Sony 40" S model. I was tempted to get Sony's S model in this size, but the M is a newer model, and $50-$80 cheaper. Picture quality is, overall, equal to my larger set, (though fleshtones are more natural on the "S") which cost twice as much. However, I was surprised that it does not come with the stand attached. Not a big deal, but I've never seen this practice before. Also, unlike the S series classy flat black matte finish, this M model has the "Samsungy" glossy piano black finish. Again, not a big deal..but still. Anyway, despite all my nitpicking, it is the picture that really matters, and in that area, this set delivers in Sony tradition..excellent. For the money, a great set, a great value, but it will remind you it is entry level, something the S models did not do...of course, Sony's least, is still better than it's competitors best.
- After having the set for 10 days the set went blank and Standby light flashed 2 times in sequence. Called Sony Tech Support and it was decided that a repair would be necessary. Checked online for comments on this type of failure and found it was a problem with the circuit board and that LCD TV's have this problem although not sure how common. I decided to return the set for a replacement rather than a repair. In the past I have avoided buying extended warranties but now are wondering if it might be a good idea for LCD TV's.
- I had been researching lcd tv's for quite a while (months). I had narrowed it down to Samsung, Sony, Panasonic, and Sharp. What finally pushed me over into the Sony M-4000 corner is that it has a 178 degree vertical and horizontal viewing range, decent contrast, and the Sony Bravia Engine 2.
The tv is connected to basic cable and I have found the ghosting to be minimal and the hd stations are satisfying to watch.
PC input is excellent...dual monitors is new for me, and it's great for watching online shows, esp. when having pc audio linked to the tv.
The speakers work for me, our tv viewing is limited to when our son is asleep, so no need for thunderous booms, etc.
All in all, it has the features I thought important at a reasonable price. Channel switching is fast; the most often used functions are a button away. I'm content.
- I use this TV mostly as a computer monitor. It makes sense (if you are not a gamer) because price tag of this item is almost the same as most 26" lcd monitors but TV has nice features: you may see tv channels in small window (PIP) while you work on PC applications, much higher contrast ratio, and quality of picture is really nice, and very good sound.
Plus you have HD channels and plenty input options comparing to PC monitor. Also USB service connector is a good option to update firmware if needed. Unfortunaly, USB port can be used to display pictures from memory stick.
Cons: bulky design, bezel is too wide, it makes it 26.5" wide instead of 24" top as most monitors. Adjustable stand could be nice addition too. Remote is not lightened.
- I just bought this TV and am very happy with my decision. The picture is sharp and contrasty (though component input isn't perfect), sound quality is OK and features are more than plenty for my purpose. I especially like the selection of inputs and the ability to relay audio out to my stereo. But the clincher for me was the viewing angle: It is much better than the Samsung 26A450, which is the main competitor in terms of image quality (face-on the Samsung seems a little better). We have the TV set on a shelf, higher than the seating position, and there is literally no difference in picture for a large range in vertical (and horizontal) viewing angles. There is no discernible color shift or shadow loss, both of which are clearly visible for most of the competition. This suggests to me that this TV is using a high quality S-IPS panel, though it might be hard to believe at this price point.

5 comments about Panasonic Viera TH-50PZ80U 50-Inch 1080p Plasma HDTV.
- I'm not an audio or video expert, just your average joe who appreciates a great television experience. I've been pining for an HDTV for several years, tried to be patient until the quality increased and the prices decreased. This year I started doing some research and settled on this particular TV. I was astounded by the price difference between Amazon and the box stores, but was hesitant to make such a serious purchase over the internet, but it was simply an offer I couldn't refuse. I placed the order on a Monday morning, received a call on Friday afternoon that the TV was ready to be delivered, and it came on Saturday morning. The delivery guys brought it in and opened it up. A friend and I bolted it to the stand, plugged it in and connected the cable. Nothing to it.
I was amazed at the quality with just the regular cable signal. It would be a few days before the cable company could bring an HD box, but man, when we got that connected -- I ordered an HDMI cable at the same time so they brought me an HDMI HD converter -- and it was love at first view! The cable guy said he does this all day long and he didn't think he'd seen a better picture. I subscribe to all the premium movie channels and sports channels, so all of that in HD is just overwhelming. At times, it honestly looks like a 3D image.
I'm toying with the idea of one of these upconverting DVD players. A clerk at Radio Shack told me he got one and that it did make quite a difference in picture quality with an HDTV and an HDMI connection, so at some point I may spring for that while waiting for the BluRay players to come down in price.
Anyway, I couldn't be more pleased with the product and the service and price from Amazon.
If you're in the market for a plasma TV, definitely give this one a look!
- I ordered this TV 1 week ago today and am already watching it. I am 100% satisfied with the delivery service, the TV, and its price! I had to make one phone call to the 888 # given while setting it up. The woman I talked to at that # was extremely knowledgeable and my problem was taken care of in 5 minutes. I would recommend this TV at this price to anyone I know.
- Excellent product. Very happy with it in every way. Stable stand - no need to purchase a separate stand.
- I have always been very reluctant about plasma tvs but after reading about and reserching the newest models from Panasonic and the upgraded technology I became a believer. The picture on this tv is really incredible. Great contrast and color with amazing blacks. Love the game mode which now enables you to to safely play your video games. With the anti image retention setting I feel much safer about the chance of screen burn. The new antireflective screen does a great job cutting down the amount of glare and relection. The only thing I am not crazy about is the sound quality. I find it to be on the weak side but it is not a big issue since I have the TV hooked up to my stereo system. All in all I highy recommend this set for its quality and performance.
- After months of research, going to stores and scouring the internet I settled for the Panasonic TH-50PZ80U. This TV is one of the less expensive 50" Plasmas but has great picture and the HD channels are very clear. It has great reviews and in the week I have had the TV the reviews are justified. I chose it over the TH-50PZ85U because it seems the only difference between the two is a little higher contrast ratio and that the 85U has a PC input and my PC has an HDMI output so I didn't need a PC input so it wasn't worth an extra $200 for me.
Just a few issues. The regular channels do not fare as well but that could well be just in comparison to the HD channels. There is only one composite video input in the back which I use to plug in my old (non up-converting) DVD player which means I have to plug my PS2 in the front. Not that big a deal since I will get a new DVD player with HDMI soon. Also the TV is on a fixed base and it would have been nice to be able to tilt it a little due to the height of my TV table.
Amazon had the TV cheaper than anywhere else. I ordered the TV on Sunday and they delivered it on Thursday via CEVA. They took it out of the box but I expected them to set the TV up on the stand and plug it in but they did not do that. Still, for the price it wasn't a big deal since Best Buy would have been at least $200 more plus tax plus $60 delivery.

- When I needed to upgrade the TV in our kitchen, it had to fit in a cabinet-end box that had been designed for a 20" CRT Sony 10 years ago. I soon learned that few HDTV mfgrs are building HDTVs that are 22 - 23". After a lot of web research and viewing and measuring LCD and plasma TVs in retailers, we agreed that the 22-inch Samsung was the best for us. While it's widely available in many retail outlets and sites, Amazon's price was the best. It was delivered in just a few days and the set has a beautiful picture and "fits" our needs perfectly.
- Needed new tv for kitchen. This set fit the bill perfectly. Good picture. Good remote. Highly recommended.
- This is a fantastic TV. Great picture. Very bright. It needs a tilt stand, however. Additionally, the screen is just slightly shy of a true 16:9 size, so you have to use the "wide" setting to fill the screen. The 16:9 setting results in thin black bars on the top and bottom.
- I absolutely love the Samsung LCD TV's. We started with a 40", then purchased another 40" for the another bedroom. The 22" went in the motorhome bedroom and the other went in the kitchen. Just purchased another 30 inch for the family/pool room. Would have gone larger but it was all that would fit in the cabinet. We also are using a 19" as a monitor for our computer.
All have bright, clear pictures, enough hook ups for all the gadgets. We have been using them for almost eight months with no problems. High Definition looks fantastic on these TVs, do not purchase for regular analog, it is not worth the cost as you will be disappointed with the picture quality.

- Consumer Reports gives this model the top score for 37" models. Their retail price is listed at $1400. I'd rather buy products from Amazon than third-parties offering lower prices because I trust Amazon to resolve any product or shipping problems that might occur.
- Ok well this is my first review of anything here so off we go.... I purchased this TV a few weeks back and could not be happier. This is the first HD TV I have ever purchased so I did a lot of reading up on what is hit and miss. Big Hit! For a smaller living room, which we have it is perfect. I am hooked up to Suddenlink HD cable, getting Direct TV soon, a Panasonic up convert DVD player and my PS3. Amazing picture and a great value as well. I was on the fence at first but I tore that fence down and this TV is here to stay. Very user friendly, 3 HDMI inputs make connection a snap. Audio is typical for a TV but I have mine running through an Onkyo home theater receiver, so the marks are pretty good. I was really surprised how well SD channels looked; you know the difference but they looked just as good, even better that my old tube set. Watched "Night at the Museum" on Blu-ray and it was like the picture was so lifelike all my wife kept saying was "WOW" and I would have to agree. Also comes with a "game mode" which I love for the PS3 and "Call of Duty 4". I would recommend this TV to anyone wanting a great TV for a great value.
- After reading other comments I can confirm that people don't read carefully and gave poor reviews to this item not because they want to comment on the item itself but on the "misleading advertisement" according to them... If you look at the "More Buying Options" part, several sellers have their price below $1000 and only Amazon and other few are above $1000.
For the people that gave poor reviews: READ FIRST!! This is the place to review about the quality of a product and experience with it, not to complain about something that is not even true...!!
- Bought it from Amazon and got it via CEVA in 5 days (could have been shorter as it was shipped from a warehouse just 500 miles from where I live :) I almost bought the 32LZ800 for almost the same price but decided to get this due to the matte screen, I dont like the glossy screens. Also I got a Panasonic due to the IPS panel instead of the PVA variants from most other vendors. Look at all the sets at a 45 deg angle before you decide :)
Razor sharp pictures through a PS3, SDTV is not bad (after reducing the sharpness etc), no VGA input, adequate sound (though could have been a little louder).
The factory default settings are not great but it can be tuned to display pleasing results. For a 2008 TV, I am unhappy that there isnt a separate RGB control. Another bummer is the lack of a VGA input: my older laptop doesnt have DVI/HDMI. Every 32-37" LCD I have seen has this input and I didnt check this before ordering :( With a VGA port and the RGB controls, I would have given it 5 stars.
Overall its a good purchase. If you need a no-frills panel, this is a good choice, given that it was the cheapest 37" TV from Amazon when I bought it.
- I just received this set today, after weeks of web and in-store research. I had always thought that the Panasonic LCDs looked a bit better than the Sonys and Samsungs at the stores, and looked very much better off-axis (important in our room). Well, all I can say is they must not have had the set adjusted very well in the store.... it looks way better at home that it even did there!
I actually chose this set not only for what I had seen in the store (a little better picture, but not by a lot as I saw it there) but because I had read some reports on the net that the Panasonic IPS-Alpha screens generally do better on standard and analog TV than most other types. We have a lot of old VHS (such as home movies) and wanted a good quality set on which these would still be watchable. I'd say the old tapes look as good on this set as on the old CRT set, other than the expected results of the screen just being so much larger showing the lack of detail. A nice surprise, even analog over the air TV is completely watchable, no gritty lines or obnoxious blurs. On a whim, I connected my laptop to the TC-37LZ85 via the S-Video connector and brought up some old B&W shows on [...]. The ancient B&W Alfred Hitchcock shows look better in this set, through the low-res internet link, than they EVER did on analog TV.
We don't have a Blue-Ray player to see what the highest resolution video looks like, so I slipped in a SD-card with some high res (5MByte) photos on it. These are just drop-dead gorgeous. Couldn't stop watching the slide show, I had never seen these photos quite like this, wish I could print them as well as this screen shows them.
The only negative of the set (so far, hey it's just the first day) is that in my research I neglected to notice that this model does NOT have a VGA connector for computer video, so I can't see my laptop screen in its full resolution. Maybe the TC-37LZ800 would have been a better choice (for another $[...]), but maybe not, I don't know how often I'd do that anyway. :)
