- Although Toshiba lists this as a 35" TV the screen actually measures a full 36"; I know this because I just bought one and have measured it. I bought this TV because I wanted a good large screen TV with a very sharp picture at a reasonable price. Sharp pictures at reasonable prices are typical of Toshiba TVs, which may well be the best buys currently available.
Yes, this model -- despite it's sharp picture -- is not high-definition and it has the traditional 4:3 aspect ratio rather than a widescreen 16:9 ratio. But my cable system currently broadcasts 175 channels in the traditional 4:3 aspect ratio and only 9 widescreen high-definition channels. Widescreen 16:9 TVs have smaller pictures with gray bars on the side when displaying traditional 4:3 channels. Furthermore, because the screen on this TV is so large, when I watch letter-boxed widescreen DVDs the picture size is quite acceptable.
Widescreen high-definition broadcasts and widescreen high-definition TVs will be the norm in a few years, at which time the prices of such sets will be significantly lower than they are now. However, with the current situation where most channels still display traditional 4:3 pictures and only a few are in widescreen and high definition, a large screen 4:3 TV is a good economical choice for many people at this time.
- I'm a Profesional audio Video installer constantly installing the latest technologies from DLP, Plasma, LCD, and some CRT's and I bought this TV after the first time I saw it, as a DirecTV subscriber some programs although are not aired in HD you can definetly tell when a program was recorded in HD this TV looks fantastic, this technology is almost out but for those of us who don't have 2,3,4 thousand to spend on an HDTV I defintly recomend it over more expensive tv's including Sony's XBR. It's heavy but not as heavy as a Sony.

- I recently went out on a quest to find a HDTV with 1080p, I have two projection screens (Mitsubushis) which are 1080i, but I bought a PS3 and wanted the awesome graphics. I reviewed several TVs to include Sony, Vizio, Samsung, Pioneer, Westinghouse and Proscan (RCA). I came across the Proscan 42" at Sears and was able to compare with the other TVs, pretty much side by side. This TV, especially for the price, outdid its competition hands down. My other major consideration was the Samsung. I, at present time, have no surround sound so sound quality of the built in speakers was something that I considered. The sound quality was better on the Proscan. The picture is incredible, 2 HDMI ports, VGA port, component video jacks, and an audio optical port. In parting, the Samsung was $1800 (40") and the Proscan (42") was $949. I highly recommend this sleek looking, inexpesive LCD TV to those that want all the bells and whistles with out the price tag shock.

- I went to sears and compared this tv to the others that were there and for the price, it cant be beat. The only tv's that were close were the Samsung and the Sony Bravia. I definately cannot afford the sony or the samsung. This tv compared side by side to everything else, was brighter, had better sound quality, the black was black.
The only downfall in the infrared for the remote. You pretty much have to be directly infront of it for it to register.
- I'd never even heard of Proscan until I went shopping for a new tv for my new apartment. Every single time I have a guest over or someone sees this tv on they will say what an awesome picture and sound it has. I love to watch movies. When the movies are over I feel like I've been to the theatre. I'm so happy I made the right choice!

- REcently acquired the Aquos 20" LCD Tv from a retailer in New York City (harvey electronics), when I found it a small discount. It's an excellent LCD TV that can also double as a PC monitor. The contrast and brightness are just great to boot and the surround sound is fabulous. I place it on my desk next to my PC so I can watch CNBC and also play DVD movies while I pretend to be working. :) This is a great product. It's expensive but if you have the money, get one.
- By far the best picture quality I have seen on an LCD TV of this type. It costs a little more but it is well worth the price. Keep an eye out at local retailers for discounted or open box items since many people do not realize that this is not a widescreen or HD quality TV and return it.

- This product's description is misleading. The picture quality is quite poor. I will be returning it.
- I just puchased this tv about 4 days ago. The picture quality is TERRIBLE, and everytime i turn the channel I get this popping sound. I tried adjusting the contrast and try connecting it to other cable hook-ups in the house and the picture was still not good. I wouldn't recommend this t.v. it's not worth the money. Buyers beware
- Hey guys,
Well one would think Samsung is a trusted name, but when it comes to this TV...one wonders. I purchased this TV at local store and they had one in display. I was not impressed at all with the picture quality, but the salesperson told me that it only looks like that because the TV had a poor connection and once I installed it at home it would be perfect. Well, I purchased it and it was horrible, just as horrible as the way it looked in the shop. I could barely read the writing on the TV and I tried plugging the DVD player directly on the TV and it was just as worse.
So I owned this TV for about 30 minutes and returned it to the shop for a full refund. This TV is a rip off, even if it was free I would not want it in my bedroom. The sound is marginal, but the picture quality is embarasing. I was very disapointed in this product and hope you don't make the same mistake as I did. This PRODUCT IS A "ZERO" star.
I would recomend the samsung LNS1952W....it's a 19" but the picture quality is amazing.

I brought this Audiovox TFT3500 3.5" Handheld TV with A/C Adapter and it beats all the Casio's down cold. Only warning I have is the Audiovox TFT3500 3.5" Handheld TV with A/C Adapter
shown on the Amazon.com webpage is blue in color. The Audiovox TFT3500 3.5" Handheld TV with A/C Adapter
I got was silver which was no big deal for me. I just throw that in just in case someone had there heart set on the blue shown in the picture.
The best thing about the TV is the AC Adapter. None of the Casio's I saw at Amazon come with an AC adapter as part of the original product. The color is pretty good all things considered. Reception is reasonably good. Of course your signal is only good as your location. Expect horrid pictures in big fat office buildings where computers electronics and shileding almost insure a bad picture. At home in the county my picture quality is great at work in a big fat office building the picture and sound are ok but not without distrubance.
Tuning this unit is easy as pie. It has few buttons and those it has are basic easily understood and mastered. The unit is light weight. The picture is bright and the colors are crisp even in high light glare filled environments. The sound is ok if you want higher quality sound buy a nice set of earphones and you are set. I have watched high toned educational programs like "Jerry Springer" on this hand held television and never missed a punch, bleeped out curse word or hair pull yet due to interference.
Battery's last about 2 hours if you are lucky. I brought rechargable batteries to save money and they work fine. If their are down sides to this unit I have yet to experience any of them. For the price this is a nice hand held TV with a bigger screen than some I have seen at higher prices. I recommend this Audiovox TFT3500 3.5" Handheld TV with A/C Adapter
because it works well and so far is holding up nicely.
- This thing won't pick up a tv station a half mile from the tower. Really a total waste of money. The only reason I didn't send it back was I waited too long to do so.
