- Bought this elsewhere day before Thanksgiving, price was amazing including a 10% off coupon putting it below $1,000. Nice picture, would like to find remote code for it so I can use my cable remote or a universal.
- I got the 47" Olevia 247tfhd from circuit city thanksgiving online deal for $1100 . I did not really know what to expect but the deal was too good to miss.
This TV turned out excellent. It has very natural colors. LCD screen is actually build by sharp. HDTV looks perfect. Sound is very good, much better than what you would expect for the price. Menu system is nice when you get used to it. Built quality is good. My only complaint is that I could not program its remote to my comcast remote.
I would recommend this tv without hesitation.
- I got this product during an online special for $1099. After having it for almost a month I have to say the picture quality for the HD channels are amazing. I also own Sharp LCD, and Olevia has better picture quality than my Sharp. The SD channels are not that great, but who buys a 1080P to watch SD channels right :). I didn't get a chance to test 1080P resolution yet but once I get my HDDVD player (hopefully for x-mas) I will add the comments for that as well. For me it was a great deal...
- This tv is great picture is great and the coolest feature is the split screen feature where you can watch or play to diff things at once. for ex. you can play ps3 and the wii at the same time or you can watch a movie on your hd or blu-ray and have the same movie on your standard player at the same time to see the diff. i love to do that to my friends that say theres no diff between hd and standard. and for $1000 - $1200 you cant and wont find a better tv. trust you dont have to spend the extra 1000 just for a sony, you can get a system for your home theater to go with this tv instead.
- This television is really an exceptional deal. I had been slow to upgrade to HD in the bedroom, but, after reading reviews in CR (where it was noted as a "Great Buy") I checked it out at a local retailer. I was able to get one for under $1100 and am extremely happy with it. Big, bright, clear, cheap (but not cheaply made)--everything you'd want! I especially appreciate the fact that it was surprisingly easy to set up. I don't have a dish or cable connection in the bedroom, so, I just hooked it up to a very old antenna (probably was used to pick up Ed Sullivan) and the television automatically searched for the channels in my area and presto, up and running in literally under 5 minutes. I live approximately 50 miles from the nearest television towers and all expected channels came in perfect. I'm even receiving a number of channels that I didn't even know where available in our area. The design is nice and understated, although the blue light on the front when the television is turned off is a bit bright for a bedroom (although I think there is a way to turn that off-just haven't figured it out yet). Remote is very nice with soft rubbery keys that have back lighting. I think anyone would be happy with this purchase.

- This TV is all that I expected. HD is not yet available in my area. However, I can easily change the screen size to accommodate the cable size that is available. At the same time, it is equally easy to change the screen size for DVDs in widescreen.
- I like this T.V. The only thing taht I do not like is the remote control, it is too big.
- I BOUGHT THIS TOSHIBA 32HL BECAUSE OF HIGH CONSUMER REPORTS RATINGS AND COMMENTS ON AMAZON. FOUND MY BEST PRICE ON AMAZON ALSO. GREAT PICTURE ALTHO I HAVEN'T HOOKED INTO HD SERVICE YET. PRETTY EASY SETUP AND GOOD INSTRUCTIONS AND I'M NO TECHIE! REMOTE IS GREAT BUT KIND OF KLUNKY WITH MY PANASONIC DVD PLAYER. ONE STRANGE THING: NO INTERNAL CLOCK! OR AM I MISSING SOMETHING?? FITS NICELY INTO MY CORNER CUPBOARD... ATTRACTIVE FLAT BLACK CABINET THAT IS NOT DISTRACTING. CHECK CR FOR MORE INFO!
- Shortly after 1-year display has a fine dark line on right side in displays over 480 res. Think the line is a burn-in of the right edge of the 480 window. Other than line everything else is great. Priced a replacement display cost is as much as I paid for set.
- I bought this tv on 11/24/2006. It is now 09/15/2008 and the tv is broken with a repair estimate of 900.00 plus labor. Sorry I listened to consumer report.

- Just received this unit yesterday, and so far, for the most part, I'm very impressed. The sound and image quality is superb. DVDs look spectacular, and even non-HD satellite content looks very good (though you'll want to use "standard" resolution; the "Pixel Plus" functionality makes non-HD content look muddy and distorted). The unit is quite easy to set up (took about 15 minutes) and aesthetically is a nice improvement over the previous model.
However, the unit seems to have a couple of quirks. Occasionally, when the unit is turned on with a DVD already playing, the image is divided into quarters and placed in the wrong quadrants, with the bottom of the image at the top of the screen, and the left side of the image on the right. It's very strange, and I'm going to reach out to Phillips and find out why this is happening. Also, as good as the sound is, when it gets too bassy, there's something in the unit itself that starts to rattle. This doesn't happen too often, but when it does, it's very distracting.
These complaints notwithstanding, I'm fairly impressed with this unit.
- I am very pleased with my Phillips television. The picture quality is excellent and very clear. There is an extensive menu, allowing for detailed adjustments. I would recommend this product.
- This Philips 37 inch tv has a very nice picture...clear and colorful appropriate for the program. Individuals shown on the tv seem to be right in the same room as the viewer.

- First of all, I was very excited to get this TV when I had done significant research regarding resolution, color, response rate and price. To get a 1080p TV of this size at this price was almost too good to be true. Alas, it was, as BOTH HDMI inputs do not work. I have two DVD players with HDMI inputs, as well as two satellite receivers with HDMI connections, and tried the TV with all of them. Buying an HD TV without the capability to use the HDMI inputs is worthless.
Hoping that the additional service contract would come in handy, I called to see about getting the TV repaired or a replacement sent out. After trying to deny coverage completely for the item being "used at a business" (it was actually just shipped to my business), the service company then said that there was no coverage under their "2 year" plan during year one EXCEPT FOR power surge coverage. In essence nothing, nada, for your $325.
Do yourself a favor and think twice, three times, or more when you are going to spend this much on an item. It simply isn't worth the hassle.
- We have had our 46 inch JVC for 2 months and it just gets better as it goes along. It handles SD programs very well, of course depending on the quality of the signal. Movies are wonderful to watch on this. Almost 3D like appearance.
Good remote, good menus and the sound is very good too for a built in system. You can spend more money but I don't think you'll find a better TV of this type and size.
Update: We have had this TV for 2 months now and it just gets better as it goes along. Really! The picture is better with better fleshtones and I haven't spent much time at all adjusting it.
I was initially concerned that it does not accept 1080p signal. That really won't make any difference as all but computer and some game signals going to it will be 1080i. This TV has an excellent de-interlacer in it so it will display the signal at 1080p and do it as well as any other set out there. So for my family, this is not a problem.
- I have had this TV for a month and have been extremely pleased. The color and clarity are amazing. Learning to use the remote and menus was not as easy as I might have expected but it did not take long to learn. I did a lot of research before purchasing this TV. Everything I found pointed to this model as having all the things I was looking for. Then when I received my 'Consumer Reports' magazine and this model (smaller screen) was the top rated, that sealed my decision. I could not find this model locally but I was extremely pleased with my purchasing experience with 'Amazon.com'. The price was a good value and the free shipping service added to the value. It arrived in one week.
I could not have asked for more for my money!
- I purchased this TV in December, and have found it to be excellent in every way. My HD cable box goes into one HDMI input, and my DVD player goes into the other. The picture quality out of the box was quite good, and it was even better after some adjustments using test patterns. Since I don't have any 1080p inputs, the 1080i limitation was not an issue for me.
While I use an external receiver for audio, the built in audio is surprisingly good as well.
I would highly recommend this set.
- When we received this TV, we loved it. Within sixty days the smart port quit working and before the warranty was out the TV begin to "Marble-ize" (what the repair center calls it). I said it looked like mother of the pearl shining in the sun.
Anyway, I am now in a battle with them to try and get my TV home, a new TV issued or my money back. They would not honor the In-home Warranty, so I a have been out a living room TV for almost two months. They can't seem to fix this TV and have replaced the same part three times (I learned that they also use refurbished parts to fix our brand new under warranty TV's and electronics). This is not going to build any JVC love between us and them.
Anyway it is still not fixed and now they think it might be a cable instead. In other words they don't know what is wrong with it and unless I get a lawyer soon, I am going to get screwed on this deal for sure. In the meantime, and too late, I searched the Internet and found that there are people in the heart of big cities that are told the in-home warranty will not be honored, because, like us, it is too far too drive. I don't seem to be the only one having major problems with them.
So, I am not a happy customer. I would not recommend this TV or JVC to anyone and I will never purchase from them again.

3 comments about Sony KDF-E60A20 60-Inch LCD Rear Projection Television.
- I just received this television and finally have it working. Although my experience so far has been with the local HD channels using an over the air HD antenna, it has still proven its worth the money.
I come home every night after work wanting to watch TV on a "nice" TV. Sure there might be minor tweaks that you can do to enhance the picture but come on, It's not that noticable and definately not worth $500 to get a guy to come tune it for you. Out of the box this TV does very well. The red is a little sharp but its nothing you cant easily take care of going through the settings. The overall picture quality is absolutely beautiful when watching HD TV. I got to see our Minnesota Vikings get the crap beaten out of them by the Bengals with outstanding quality.
With the large screen size that it has, watching TV series programs like "Lost" etc. really make a difference.
I also purchased the GW12 TV Stand and it looks amazing in the house. Be aware how ever to make sure you have enough room for the TV in your living room. I had to move some of my couches back to the dining room to get a more comfortable viewing distance, but since I know Ill be moving out soon I knew it wouldnt be too bad for too long. But make sure you have at least 12 feet of distance to the TV screen. Remember that the TV is about 3 feet deep and that you will want to calculate that into your measurements as well. The Sony TV stand is shaped perfectly for the TV so there's no excessive space taken up.
To use the full power of the TV I purchased the HD DVR from Direct TV to be able to record everything I miss and still be able to watch it in HD. HD programs are much more clear, vivid and sharper than what they looked like on your standard TV.
One con is the lack of picture in picture. You'd think it would be nice with a TV this big but I suppose Sony had a reason for dropping it.
The Speakers are pretty nice for the size of the TV but with a screen that big you should consider purchasing a home theater system or receiver set with seperate speakers.
The remote control is kind of corny looking but hey its not the main point here.
TV is also very light weight for its size and ways at about 150lbs.
Overall I definately love this TV and think it was well worth the price. I looked into buying a DLP but it just didnt catch my eye as much as this rear projection LCD. Sony has definately improved the darkness of the black on the LCD TV's knowing that there were problems in the past.
- This television is great! The screen size and enhanced/adjustable surround sound, make your tv viewing experience/gaming experience....LIFELIKE! Just like the actual theater! We recently upgraded from a normal television to this! The high quality sound and picture are unreal!!!!! You do not need surround sound or enhanced/detached speakers with the built in sound system. We love it! It is PERFECT!!!!!!
- I've always loved Sony TVs. Had a 48" model for about 15 years and just traded up to this 60" hi-def model. OMG! It's spectacular ... from the size (better than being in a movie theater) to the exceptional picture quality to the brilliance of clarity and color to the overall experience. Also, got an unbelievable price from BrandsMart ... $1,298! Whatever you pay for this, it's worth it if you're a TV junkie ... especially for sports. Even golf is exciting to watch.
