1. I got this TV about a month ago & so far I'm very happy with Samsung. I have to admit this is my 1st LCD purchase and don't know exactly what to look for in LCD except that compare to my dad's Sony Bravia 32" 720p, picture seems lot more crisp and clearer. Only thing that bother me about this TV is the sound quality. Even when volume is turned on high I can't really hear voices clearly. Otherwise, it's a great purchase under 1k.



2. We bought this tv after lots of research, and we were happy with the white glove delivery. They come in and help set it up, and make sure that everything is working before you sign for it. We like the sound and picture quality.



3. Well, after looking around for quite a while I came across this little gem. This is a perfect affordable TV for just about anything. Stylish and performs well, this is a great buy if you want an LCD TV to last you a while. Best when used to watch movies or play video games on. If you do play games on it, make sure you buy VGA cables for your system, because with any LCD you will get bad response time with video games, but even without the cables this TV has very low response time.



4. Bought this TV for my parents bedroom. Having been a Sony man bought a 46 inch Samsung last year, I was expecting a winner and got one. Samsung quite frankly has won me over. The set's review stated the sound was not all that great but frankly I don't view it as a negative. I watched "Fools Gold" on blu ray, as well as other programming, and the sound seems fine.The picture is gorgeous-especially on HD programming.
   
   The only disappointment was that the first set we received was faulty. Amazon was great about taking care of a quick replacement.We did however experience continued problems with shipping(didn't pick up defective set when the new one arrived). Was totally unimpressed with the shipper.I strongly suspect the problem with the first set was damage in shipping.Overall very happy with the purchase.TIP-when delivered INSIST that the delivery person stay 5 mins. to see that the set is functional or tell them they will be taking the set back with them.They CAN do it,you just have to make them WANT to.This simple step would have saved a ton of trouble for us.



5. We ordered our Samsung LN32A550 LCD HDTV Saturday, July 12th. I received a confirmation email within minutes, and another email with delivery information the following Monday, July 13th. I received a call from the delivery company on Tuesday morning, July 15th, and our TV was delivered at 3 that afternoon. The delivery man was extremely helpful, very knowledgeable of the product and couldn't have been more courteous. I have ordered numerous items from Amazon and never had any problems whatsoever. My husband and I were a little leary of ordering a TV on-line, but considering the excellent price, we decided to try it. We could not be more pleased with the product or the service we received from both Amazon and the delivery company (CEVA). Samsung is the best, the picture quality is amazing. The only negative thing I could say about this TV is the sound isn't that great. Consider seperate speakers/surround sound.

1. I've been following this 42 inch Panasonic model through its growth and changes for six years waiting to finish college so I could give tv undivided attention. This is the most exciting piece of electronics I have ever purchased, or ever owned. I put up full-length black, black-out curtains which cut out any glaring from direct sunlight during the day, and provide a theatre atmosphere. The high def channels (Time-Warner) are so life-like and 3-D in appearance, I sometimes forget I am not actually in the scene, wherever it is.
   
   The sound is certainly adequate on its own, if one is not an audiophile, but I wanted the Sony home theatre over the Panasonic and was worried they wouldn't be compatible. Much to my delight, the cable DVR and Sony Home Theatre are all controlled by the Panasonic Viera by just simply selecting the HDMI input source (there are three here) and naming the components I wanted to use. There is no hunting for numbers or holding and aiming remotes for a half-hour to find each component setting, as Panasonic Viera does that for you INSTANTLY, even if it is another brand. Push the Panasonic remote power button and the home theatre and DVR are started, vice versa when turning off.
   
   I have also connected, by HDMI, a new Playstation 3 (thanks again Amazon) through the game port, and it is UNBELIEVABLE PICTURE QUALITY. Panasonic recognized them immediately and the menus on this tv are one push button drop down and simple to navigate. Likewise, the new Wii Console (from Amazon) is into another input using their video cables and the picture is crisp, clear and stunning. I chose the pre-selected game mode picture quality for the Wii, and custom picture settings for the cable and PS3. As I switch between them, the Panasonic remembers my screen settings for each so I don't have to "switch" back and forth manually as I change programming.
   
   I'm sure I don't know half the things the TV does yet (purchased May 27th), but you cannot go wrong with this tv. I am sitting about twelve feet away in an apartment and it is just the perfect size screen. Next, is connecting my laptop to the PC input and "flying" Microsoft X flight simulator. That is going to be exciting!!!!!
   
   The delivery took a while about two weeks, but the white glove service was excellent (actually two men who used to work for years delivering Sears tv's) and they were extremely knowledgable, helpful, and professional. If you want state of the art technology, with picture quality that passes for art every time, you want this particular plasma!!!!!!! By the way, I am a 58 year old single, female, and yes, while I am pretty technically literate and experienced, you don't have to be with this TV. Just plug and play!!!!



2. I research and stressed about a $1000+ TV for several weeks. I was going to purchase an LCD, but once a salesman educated me on a plasma, I was sold.
   
   Plasma is so much better than an LCD. Don't buy an LCD just because they are popular now. There are a ton of them in the stores and online only because it wasn't until recently that manufacturers could make an LCD affordably in large sizes. So they are, but plasma is a better picture for the same price. Better color, high definition, contrast, viewing angle, and nearly indestructible screen. The only advantage of an LCD is that they tend to be lighter.
   
   The screen was a big selling point for me. I have a 3-year old that likes to touch the pictures. This can damage an LCD, so too can cleaning off the finger prints. The plasma is just solid glass and has been "wii-proofed", capable of taking a wii-remote that accidently gets thrown at the screen.
   
   Also, I stressed over the 120mhz vs. 60 mhz for an LCD. The 120mhz promised less image blue for fast moving objects and sports, but you pay up for it. I saw a little Wimbledon while at best buy and the ball did see fuzzy at times. Well, a Plasma is at 480 mhz image refresh rate, so you don't have to worry about 120 vs. 60. ALso check out the contrast ratios. They are significantly higher on a Plasma. I'm not a huge spec person because they don't mean everything. But there is a difference between 1,000,000:1 vs. 10,000:1 on an LCD. So go with the plasma.
   
   I did have some issues with Butterfly photo. The mispriced the extended warranty i also purchased and had to call back to correct it. When the warranty showed up in the mail, it was for an LCD, not plasma. SO I had to call back. Then since I had the item in my Amazon cart, I saw they had lowered the price and Butterfly would not honor their own price reduction just 24 hours after purchasing it. It had not even been shipped yet and they claimed they could not cancel the order and resell it at the lower price. BS. However, I purchased the item over the phone from butterfly, not online. Their phone price was lower than the AMZN price and the extended warranty was on special, which I would not have know about. So I saved about $150 just by calling, so I'm not too upset by the $50 price reduction. They will try to sell you other things, like cables or power units, just say you'll think about it.
   
   As for as some small issues with the TV. The channel change button are on the side of the TV, but still tucked several inches behind it. There are a little difficult to see if the TV is in a cabinet, which mine is. Plus my 3-year old can no longer change the channels. She used to be able to switch between the DVD or Leapfrog games, but cannot do it without help now. Also, adding components to the TV requires several different cables. The TV accepts many inputs, but only two or each. I had been connection my with the same blue, red, green, white, and red cables. But after the DVD and PVR, I have to buy different cables to connect the cable box, VRC or game consol.
   
   Other than that. A great TV. Definately go with the Plasma. The old burn-in issues of old have been solved and its so much brighter, crisper, and worth the money compared to an LCD.



3. Panasonic Viera TH-42PZ85U 42-Inch 1080p Plasma HDTV
   
   This TV is perfect. I did alot of research before buying. I wanted to spend a little over $1200. For the money this TV was the best bet. The picture quality is amazing and it was even delivered 4 days early! Definitely recommended.



4. Bought this TV a little over a month ago, and I really like it a lot. The picture is spectacular once you get past the break-in period and can ramp up the contrast and brightness a little.
   
   Plenty of inputs to suit my needs, although I wish the PC input would accept 1080p. The highest resolution the PC input will do is 1366x768 (or whatever), which is kind of a downer since the HDMI and component can do so much more.
   
   The sound from the integrated speakers is only so-so. I had to ramp up the input on my DVD player to be able to hear the voices at all. After a couple weeks I finally noticed that no sound was coming out the right speaker at all. Called Panasonic's concierge service, who had someone at my house two days later. The tech pulled the back off my TV and fixed the problem within 10 minutes.
   
   Whew.



5. Just a short review as there are so many already.
   
   I spent approximately 3 years researching displays. No it didn't take me that long to figure things out, I was basically waiting for the technology to meet my expectations at a given price point.
   
   After exhaustive research I narrowed things down to Plasma and then further down to either this set or the Samsung A550. The reason I picked the Panny over the Samsung, to be succinct:
   
   - better black levels
   - reliability (reportedly a bit more stable than the Samsung's, though they have gotten better)
   - anti-reflective coating (the Panasonic has the Samsung thoroughly beat)
   - IR (image retention) resistance, Panasonic is supposedly on the cutting edge for this
   
   That said, I'll comment a bit on the Panasonic image specifically; it is stunning. First, the scaler (the hardware that handles different source material like standard definition broadcast, etc.) in this thing is top notch. I am truly impressed with what it has done with standard cable (and of course HD cable looks great). I was under the impression that few if any modern displays could handle SD well, frankly because I hadn't seen evidence of it. I was wrong, there have been a few times that I had to look hard to tell I was watching Standard Def (CNN puts out an especially clean broadcast in my area). Secondly, HD content; doubly stunning! I'm running both HD Cable and a PS3 Blu-ray. I figured I'd be buying many of my movies again in Blu-ray....wrong. Certainly true HD content has the edge but the upscaler combined with this set is jaw dropping, Pixar DVDs are quite amazing.
   
   Now a few comments about Plasma vs LCD:
   
   No doubt LCD has it's place, some people simply want a very "punchy" and extremely bright display. This is especially useful for daytime/bright room viewing. However, the drawbacks are considerable:
   
   - motion lag/bur: if you see it (and I do) it's VERY distracting
   - black levels clearly not up to par, which greatly affects the overall picture quality
   
   On the other hand Plasma pluses:
   
   - no motion lag
   - industry standard black levels
   - extremely realistic/film like experience
   
   A few words on Image Retention & Burn in:
   
   These are not the same thing though the terms are often used interchangeably. Image Retention is the result of a static image (any image that doesn't change for extended periods; video game displays, station identification, etc) to remain on the screen even after you've changed images. This is a temporary problem and one that is easily erased by viewing full screen for short periods where all the pixel locations on the screen will get some activity. Frankly I've not seen even one instance on my set. Burn-in is the extreme, unfixable version of this, leaving a static image on the screen for many hours (all day) or always watching all your content letterboxed will certainly lead to burn in. It's easy to avoid. The Panasonic is especially immune to this and even has many safety features built in to prevent it (pixel shifting and auto off if a screen remains unchanged for an extended period).
   
   Finally a few quick tips for new owners, gleaned mostly from the AVS forums and partly directly from Panasonic's own website:
   
   - Keep the Picture (contrast) and Brightness levels under 50 for the first 100 hrs. This helps the phosphors become "tempered" and in turn not so easily susceptible to bun-in and image retention. As I said, I've yet to experience either.
   - Watch everything in Just mode (full screen) for the first 100 hrs for the same reasons listed above
   - After the first 100 hrs you can turn things up & start watching things in letterbox, here are some recommended levels:
   Picture: +70
   Brightness: +48
   Color: +44
   Tint: -3
   Sharpness: 0
   Color temp: Warm
   Color mgmt: Off
   x.v.Color: Off
   C.A.T.S.: Off
   
   One final note for those on the fence: Don't go by what you see in the stores, what is displayed in no way exemplifies what these sets (any brand really) are capable of. My picture is light years better than anything I ever saw at Best Buy (including this very set). Delivery from Amazon/CEVA was a breeze by the way, took one week from ordering to door.

1. This is a fantastic TV. Great picture. Very bright. It needs a tilt stand, however. Additionally, the screen is just slightly shy of a true 16:9 size, so you have to use the "wide" setting to fill the screen. The 16:9 setting results in thin black bars on the top and bottom.



2. I absolutely love the Samsung LCD TV's. We started with a 40", then purchased another 40" for the another bedroom. The 22" went in the motorhome bedroom and the other went in the kitchen. Just purchased another 30 inch for the family/pool room. Would have gone larger but it was all that would fit in the cabinet. We also are using a 19" as a monitor for our computer.
   
   All have bright, clear pictures, enough hook ups for all the gadgets. We have been using them for almost eight months with no problems. High Definition looks fantastic on these TVs, do not purchase for regular analog, it is not worth the cost as you will be disappointed with the picture quality.



3. I am very picky when it comes to electronics. I spend 2-3 months reading and visiting different stores asking lots of questions to a variety of salesman. Honestly I am a die-hard SONY consumer, but SONY did not have a set this size, needed for a spare bedroom. Having a friend who is a tv repairman, I was influenced somewhat by his opinion, as he sees sets all the time in the store for repair. According to him, the three brands that have the LEAST repairs are ...SONY, SAMSUNG and PANASONIC. He says "you can't go wrong with any of those brands." I have to believe him. This set is excellent. The set up is a breeze, and the picture on standard cable is very good, HD is amazing. The prize at AMAZON is cheaper than any of the big box stores, but just so you know, if you just have to have it NOW, and can't wait a few days for shipping, HH Greggs will match the price within about $4.00, whereas Circuit City and Best Buy thumb their noses at you when you ask. They are just too big for their britches! That's about it...if you are looking for a set in this size, just go buy it. It's a super looking set, easy controls, easy set up, very good picture on cable, excellent on HD and a good price. What's not to like?



4. The TV comes with a sticker on the front. I have 3 Samsung TV's. All three came with a sticker on the front; however, this last one caused a problem. The first two stickers came right off with no residue left on the TV. The third sticker's glue stayed on the TV frame when the sticker was removed. I used all approved solutions to remove the glue from the frame, but it still lacked the shine and factory finished look as the rest of the frame. Really, I used all the solutions and this was really stuck on the frame. It may have been the heat from the delivery truck that caused the problem, but still, why put a sticker on the front of the TV. Just an risk that could be avoided. I am dealing with customer service now. I will post again with the result. Let's see if they do the right thing.



5. Well if you want to buy this to hook up to a home theater system and don't care that buy itself it has really bad sound then there should be no problems. My TV had a problem with the screen and so it was sent back but i don't suppose that is a usual problem so i wouldn't let that bother you.

1. I have not put my PS3 to its full potenetial,
   
   so right when I moved out to a new apartment,
   I started to browse around for the perfect fit with my PS3.
   
   I stumpled on this beauty,
   
   61 inch, Samsung, HDTV,
   
   for around $1500 ,
   
   that was no comparsion.
   
   with the LED technology, the bulb will last longer than any other DLP around,
   
   The delivery was on time and accurate,
   
   and the guys even put it on a stand and help to take out the box as well.
   
   One thing that a lot of ppl failed to mention is that this TV comes along the 3d technology,
   
   with the proper setup you can watch/play game 3D..
   
   The tv pretty much work right out of the box,
   
   fan is not loud at all,
   
   the speaker came with the TV was okay,
   
   and easy to plug in additonal speakers,
   
   and playing my PS3 and watch blu ray on is it amazing,
   
   I am glad i was able to put my ps3 to full potential, and for an awesome price,
   
   so far nothing went bad.........



2. This sammy TV with LED technology is a best buy. It eliminated much of the problems with DLP such as short bulb life, this TV is rated for 60,000 hours unlike a typical DLP which is rated 2,000-3,000 hours. Secondly, it has no rainbow effects nor does it take 30-60 seconds to turn on. It takes about 2-4 seconds to turn on.
   
   There are some questions about "bowing" or tilting of the picture (very minimal that only the most discriminating eyes can see). This can be easily fixed by manual "bending" or pressing on the frame. I know that sounds a bit weird to bend the frame (but it really works and my TV which had minimal bowing was fixed in a few seconds with gentle pressure on the frame!)
   
   It works great with the PC, nintendo, DVD, antenna as well as cable (cable is probably the worst but it's likely due to timewarner rather than the TV itself).
   
   I highly recommend this TV. If you have $4000 to burn on a TOP shelf LCD then the (LCD) is definitely going to look a little bit better than this TV and also have no viewing angle issues. This TV as all rear projection TVs have more restrictive viewing angles than a LCD but it's not too bad.
   
   However, at $1750 out the door, it's a huge bargain.
   
   I highly recommend this HDTV.



3. The set up was easy and the picture spectacular. The family was at first taken back by the 61 inches of screen, but after viewing our favorite movies on it (also purchased a Samsung upconvert dvd player- just as good as blue-ray in my opinion, having seen both on this tv) everyone was amazed at what a clear and colorful picture the Samsung has.
   Was delivered and set up for me by the shipping company Amazon uses.
   Really a great purchase and we are very pleased with it.



4. Well, after waiting and researching HDTV's for well over a year, I waited for this model to come out because of the LED technology. I watched pricing until I finally saw the price drop on Amazon and got the free white glove shipping. I suggest you watch the shipping because I had to call Amazon and get the shippers information because they never called me even though the tracking information stated that they had contacted me. Anyway, it was pretty easy to straighten out and the shipping company brought it out the next day. I had the stand and everything all set to go and when they brought it out of the box I was amazed at the size. I hooked up my Cable via HDMI and turned it on and was amazed at the picture. Everything checked out OK and the shipping guys left. I have had the TV for about a month with no issues or problems and am extremely happy with the purchase!! Best bang for your buck out there...



5. I bought the HL61A750 after great deliberation and research, and beleive I made a great choice. The TV has an excellent picture with great brightness, even with a lot of ambient light. There is very little glare/reflection from the screen and the picture is watchable even in direct sunlight. There are a huge number of inputs on the TV making it easy to hook up to almost anything. The delivery service from CEVA was top notch as well.
   
   I was concerned over the viewing angle, but the side to side angle is not an issue. The TV is placed in the center of a 22' wall and can be seen almost anywhere in the room. Be aware though, you need to make sure the TV is set at a reasonable height above the floor (20-22") as the brightness of the image changes dramtically with the up-down veiwing angle.

1. Very seldom do I ever buy something without doing my research first. Especially when it comes to technology. This television set was one of many that I had my eye on. It was in my price range, a good size, and had a black border. Obviously I ultimately decided on this one and I'm VERY glad that I did. The sound quality is great right fromt the television, the picture is phenominal (it's an HD...duh), and it automatically resizes the screen back to sidebar if you're just watching standard channels.
   
   The only thing I would warn people about is the universal remote function. Being in the United States, I have Comcast for my service. The Comcast remotes that come with the boxes do NOT work on this television as of 5/20/2008. This may change in the future because the companies are always releasing new codes out however, they do not work right now. So if you're okay with a great looking tv but have to use two remotes: this is a great set for you!



2. I bought this for my dorm room next year so I am expecting to play video games and watch tv with it. I have tested it out with my xbox and playstation and so far the picture quality has been great. I definitely recommend this to anyone who wants an affordable tv with a good picture



3. I received this as a present this past Christmas and put it in a small bedroom where the viewing distance was about 8 feet away and it was fine. Nice clean picture using co-ax cables but they don't give you a choice. There are NO HDMI inputs on this unit so there's no way to get true HD. Component cables are kinda of cumbersome from a cable box so I went with co-ax. In all honesty I still love the TV. It's very easy to move around and has a pretty good sound all on it's own. If the price was right, I'd buy another one.



4. Love my new HDTV. Excellent sound and picture. Looks great as well. My parents just bought a Sharp 15" for $ 30 less. This TV has much better sound quality. Definitely great value. Highly recommend.



5. If you're looking for a state of the art LCD with all the bells and whistles, then this TV is not for you. But, if you're looking for an inexpensive, small TV for a spare room, kitchen, or other such application, this is well worth a serious look.
   
   I bought this for my Mom to replace an aging TV in her kitchen. Have been very pleased with it - excellent picture, and a snap to set up. The remote is uncomplicated, which is a big plus for Mom since she basically uses just channel up/down and volume. The stand is nice and sturdy, and tilts backwards (does not swivel side to side, however). A good viewing angle and a non-glare screen round out the major pluses.
   
   As you would expect at this price, you don't get a lot of advanced controls. There is a color temperature setting, but it's very basic (three modes). The sound is OK and on a par with what you get from most small sets - it's clear, but light on the bass, and just standard stereo (no surround sound). But, I was looking for uncomplicated, inexpensive, but a decent picture and this fits the bill nicely.
   
   Small downsides as well - the remote buttons could be bigger, as well as the on-screen prompts for setup (very small type). But these are minor points that don't detract from the overall value

1. This TV is amazing! My previous college roommate had the 40-inch version of this TV where it was prominently displayed in our living room, and we loved it. Now he's graduated and he took the TV with him (he paid for it). Anyhow, my other roommate and I split the coast of a flat screen box TV and it was a PAIN to move around, and it was poor quality. I got fed up and decided to toss that giant monster and got this beauty. The quality is beyond great. It's light, easy to assemble, and takes up little space.
   
   Buy it.



2. Bought this 19" Samsung for use in the kitchen and Camper Trailer. It works great for both of those situations. Was 60miles from St.Louis and picked up all HD and digital signal with no problem while camping in a state park. I know that is not camping, but I like to watch the news during the evening!
   
   I havent tried this but read where another reviewer could receive HD signals from cable out of the wall with no receiver box, if that is true that is a bonus.
   
   The pictures quality comes supprisingly close to my 46 inch Sony XBR 4 which is suppose to be one of the best TV's out there.
   
   Speakers are not hi-fi but adaquate, and allow for the very compact and light design.
   
   Overall this is very good televison which is priced very attractively at verious sellers.



3. While this tv does have good color and a clear picture, I tend o find that it crushes blacks in dark scenes. You lose a lot of shadow details. Generally speaking, the set is simply too dark. I have the back light set at 7. If I turn it up all the way, the top and bottom of the screen start to bleed white light. Even with the back light turned all the way up, it is still too dark for my tastes. My new 65 inch DLP has a much brighter picture. Also the sound is mediocre. That is nothing new for small lcd tvs.
   Since the exterior color was as important as the picture in this application, I will keep it.



4. I really like the LCD TV except for the marginal audio quality. For a television meant to be employed in the kitchen, Samsung should have spent more resources on making this stand-alone product sound better. I say "stand-alone" because most users will not have an AV receiver in the kitchen with which to power remote speakers. In this unit, the bass is non-existent and the highs are grainy.
   
   I don't have regrets for purchasing the product as the picture quality is excellent and it looks great on my counter.



5. The electronics of this Samsung TV are not a problem, the power cord is. The set replaced a smaller, older white Sony. The Sony had an visually inobtrusive white cord. The Samsung's black power cord looks terrible.

1. Item was lost by (stolen from) delivery service and order canceled. Bought similar item locally from Best Buy.



2. I went to look at this TV (and others) at the local Circuit City, and couple of things struck me. First, these TVs will look much larger in your home than in the stores. You need a big room for a big TV, unless maybe you have a dedicated theater room with nothing but AV equipment and a couch. This is not that kind of TV ... but it is a huge step up from your typical CRT (old style) TV.
   
   Next, all these TVs look good, but the Sony's picture is wonderful - I received my TV just in time for baseball's All-Star game, and it was great. Setup is easy. The only downside might be that you will be disappointed in the appearance of any NTSC channels you still watch... partly due to the large screen and partly by comparison to HD channels.
   
   Seems like the "white glove" delivery service varies by locale. For me, the driver clearly wanted to do as little as possible and get out. Delivery, but nothing more ... plus they require the usual 4 hour delivery window.
   
   Amazon did have the cheapest price I found for this TV though, when you consider the sales tax. You can buy the TV locally for the same price, but you'll have to pay tax.
   
   All in all, I'm very satisfied.



3. I recently purchased this item from another vendor.
   
   Picture quality is very good to my eyes. The blacks are black, not washed out as on, say, a Westinghouse lvm37-w3. Sound from the built-in speakers is good, but nothing to compare with external amplified speakers. The built-in ATSC tuner does a great job.
   
   Setting up the channel list was easy and took only a couple of minutes, but I do wish there were an obvious way to skip analog channels during setup. I don't have cable and didn't want to include any analog channels in the channel list. Since they were automatically identified, I had to manually hide them once channel setup was complete.
   
   Of course, it will be easy to skip analog over-the-air channels after February 2009 :)
   
   I wanted to set up a laptop with a TV tuner, for use as a DVR. It was easy to connect to the Sony. I'm using a MacBook, so for the video connection I used a Mini-DVI to DVI adapter connected to a DVI-D to HDMI cable. For audio I used a 3.5mm male to 2 RCA-type male audio y-cable. With the cables connected and the TV turned on, the MacBook recognized the display and automatically configured it to 1280x720 resolution, without so much as popping up a preference pane.
   
   The owner's manual warns not to connect a PC to the HDMI ports, and to use the RGB IN port instead; I'm not sure why, or whether this is specific to PCs with VGA video-out ports. Given the MacBook's Mini-DVI video port, I guessed the warning didn't apply to it.
   
   Pros:
   * Very good picture quality
   * Good ATSC tuner
   * Plays well with computers
   
   Cons:
   * No obvious way to skip analog over-the-air channels during channel setup

5. I recently got my Sony KDL-32L4000, The Amazon price was great, It saved me sales tax and time and gas to pick one up locally. The delivery by CEVA was prompt and on the due date. The Sony was taken out of the box and pluged in by the delivery man. Later I promgramed and did some set up. Using an old roof antenna I started to get up wards of 50 chanels most all chanels broadcast in one HD chanel so I get superb reception on those, The Sony upped my Converter box chanel count from 26 to 48 with the new Sony. The converter box I had gave a pretty poor picture with lots of fade out. This new Sony is like seeing TV for the first time, the picture is great!! So far my only quibble is that the menu info is a little small so it's hard to do programing.
   
   The LCD seems to work well and keep up with fast action, the picture is great, the sound quailty is good. As time goes along and I do some more set up it will only get better. If this TV lives up to the Sony quality reputation, I will enjoy this tv for a long , long time. It's better to upgrade to an LCD than get the converter as the old tube TVs don't seem to take the HD signals very well.
   
   I love my Sony!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No balony!!!! Amazon was great TOO!!!!!

1. When I recieved this product, I immediately found that it did not work. I attempted to get it replaced and Toshiba refused to do that. I had to return it AT MY OWN EXPENSE. Worst customer service experience I have ever had!

3. I bought this Toshiba HD TV/DVD combo when my old (ten years) 15 inch Samsung failed. What a great TV this is! Absolutely spectacular picture, great sound, and Oh! such light weight. Plus, the price was superb and the shipping was two day air via FedEx.

4. I purchased this product from an Amazon vendor a month ago. How does it work? I have no idea because it would not turn on when we got it out of the box. The power light went on and that it was it. We tried to operate the integrated DVD player and of course it accepted the DVD but would not eject it from the unit. We sent it to Toshiba customer service and they told us after a week that they could not repair it because a part was on back order so they would send us out a new unit. Fine, I thought. I called back a week later to find out that the unit was on back order and it would be another week before the units would come back in. I called today, ten days later, and they told me that the units have come in but my order inexplicably has not yet been shipped. I was told to call back in another week if I do not receive the TV in the interim. I have asked numerous times for a refund and Toshiba repeatedly has refused.
   
   This has been one of the worst consumer buying experiences I have ever had. I usually buy Sony televisions but made an exception this time because I had specific space constraints and the footprint of this unit matched my needs. This is a mistake I will not repeat. Buy a product from Toshiba at your own peril.



5. Got this television for my bedroom. The picture is perfect and the sound is great. Love the DVD player and the lit remote is great!!! I would definately recommend this to anyone!

1. Just received this truly beautiful set. The delivery people were not as "white glove-y" as some other reviewers reported. They simply put the set where I told them to, turned it on and made sure it worked and left with the box. But the remote is extra-easy to use, the instructions are very straightforward and the picture is great. I don't even mind the on/off noise that seems to bother some. This is a set you actually want to display somewhere - it's that cool-looking.



2. This TV is absolutely stunning, and high tech. It has all of the bells and whistles and was priced just right. I am transitioning to HD but the picture is coming in crystal clear now, so I can just imagine how much more blown away I will be once I get a Blu Ray disc player and a HD receiver.
   
   If you are trying to decide between a 650 model or a Sony TV, THIS is the better deal. The 750 only cost a few bucks more than the 650 and the Sony televisions with all of these features cost So much more in price.
   
   I am absolutely satisfied with this television, and don't forget to check the price after you buy it because the price will fluctuate and that's just money back in your pocket.
   
   **The white glove delivery from CEVA------SUCKS!!! They gave me a delivery window of 9am-3pm and still the TV was not delivered until 5:58 pm, that wasted my whole day. Then the guy came in rushing and slicing the box open really fast, so don't be fooled, it's no white glove extra special nothing going on. They are just making sure that the TV powers on so that you Won't be able to return it once delivered, and signed for.
   
   Otherwise, back to the TV: The Samsung LN40A750 is so amazing~~~~~~~~ Treat yourself to the Best and get yours today, you won't be disappointed.



3. This is a good tv. The AV quality is very good. However, the goodies that come with it is not worth as much as they advertise.



4. I'm not a videophile but I am pretty discriminating when it comes to monitors, tvs, etc. To sum up the description of this tv in one word: amazing. The picture quality using a Belkin HDMI to my DVR viewing HD movies is so good friends ask if its Blu-Ray. The 120HZ refresh rate along with the contrast ratio make everything from normal TV to HD tv sickening beautiful. So after getting over the amazing picture quality, saying the amount of inputs is great is an understatement. There are 4 HDMI's which are great, but the two goldmines are the usb and network ports. The network port allows weather info and basic stuff provided by Samsung's link, but it also connects to your home network so you can play movies, mp3s, and pictures. I have lots of ipod videos on my pc that I can play on the tv this way - kind of neat feature to have. The usb port allows for software updates, playing media, etc. I also liked how the HDMI automatically determines what kind of signal is coming in, and how the audio out is always on so turning the volume down on the tv does not affect stereo input. I've been a huge Sony fan and still am, but the price/performance of the Samsungs' 120HZ line is much better and the additional features make it a no brainer.

The delivery man set it up and powered it on to ensure everything was working properly. The TV is beautiful, and my husband LOVES it!!

The price of the TV was already well below the advertised price at popular electronic chain stores, but I ended up receiving another $225.00 in refunds after-the-fact. Such a deal!!

   Amazon & 6av gets 5 stars for extremely fast regular/standard shipping!! Was supposed to come June 30 - July 3; I ordered this on the June 24th, it arrived June 26th!!
   
   Its 720p, 8ms response. What more do u want from it? It take a few seconds
   when changing sources. Im not in a hurry so thats not a problem for me. Connected my Comcast cable HD DVR, PS3 to it with no problems. I experimented with composite and HDMI connections. (all I had on me) Anyone who reviews a hdtv, please use component or hdmi; then rate the PQ n audio. Thanks. If u rate it based on connecting the cable-in rf directly to the tv, keep that in mind when reviewing it and rate accordingly to the connection u use.
   
   Speakers is good. I missed my 46" 46A550 delivery cuz I had the 26" turned up. Easy as pie to install base and program TV. Light, u dont need help moving this or installing base. Using HDMI n cable box, it doesnt take much to config it for the best picture. But, u can tell the difference when looking at HD channels vs standard. Its not so bad but u can still tell. We need more HD channels. After I search for better settings I will come back and edit my review.



2. We bought this for our main TV. We do not watch a lot of TV and are not interested in having our TV as a focal point in the room. Also, we wanted a set that would double as our computer monitor. This TV is great for what we wanted.
   
   You'll need additional speakers to improve the sound, but I think that's true for any TV.
   
   Also, it does not come with a universal remote.



3. I chose this unit after months of research seeking the perfect pair for my PS3. I considered Vizio, Sharp, and Sony, but decided in the end that the Samsung had the most features and best connectivity. I am a college student so a larger screen size would not be useful for my needs. I use it in the apartment and my bedroom at home.
   
   This tv is only listed as 1080i but the ps3 supposedly runs in 1080p mode when connected and Blu-Rays play in 1280x1080 @ 24Hz which is the default 1080p setting. This was a fantastic surprise. They say you cannot tell the difference between 1080p and 1080i but next to my roommates Sharp which is only at 1080i, the difference is noticeable. Colors are wonderful. HD really pops. Standard definition looks much better than my roommates Sharp.
   
   The digital tuner also decodes the digital channels on my cable so I can get local channels in HD at no extra cost.
   
   Overall this was one of the best purchases I made. Plenty of connectivity options will leave it useful for years to come.



4. It was a difficult choice between this LCD and the Sony KDL 26M4000. I finally choose the Samsung because the colors were a bit more vibrant and the contrast was better (the TV will be used in a bright, sunny room). Also, the Samsung allows for more picture fine-tuning, if you are so inclined. Lastly, the Samsung was a bit cheaper in price and, at the time I ordered it, was available through Amazon. As usual, Amazon's service was outstanding. Amazon also allowed for a price match after I purchased it, since the price had dropped.



5. The set is everything I could have anticipated. I'm very pleased with the on screen menu and many options it provides with simple instructions.Set-up was simple and straight forward.
